No printing of forms filled out

Hi there,
I'm not quite sure if I'm in the right department here, but I have the following problem:
I need to create a form that can be filled out, saved and then printed. I do know how to create different fields into which people can write texts, I know how to position them, I know how to change fonts and stuff. In that sense, I am able to create the form itself, but my problem is that once it has been filled out completely, it can be saved but not printed. The first field (in my form, it's a text field in which you enter address data) would show on the print, the second field on the same page (here, it's a text field for entering a date) would not show and neither would any of the other 9 text fields.
I use Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional, Version 8.1.0, with the respective Live Cycle Designer 8.0, Version 8.05.2073.1.374024
I use it with Windows 7 Professional, SP 1
I have tried everything I could think of so far, but nothing helped.
What am I doing wrong?
Best regards,
dilviel

Have you got the correct presence set for each of the fields not printing? You can display fields on screen and not print them. make sure they are set to Visible and not Visible (Screen Only). Otherwise, have you got any subforms defined within your form which may not be printing?

Can more than one email get a copy of the form filled out?  Not a link but the data from the form.

I have the copy of the form coming to my main email but I need it to go to a second email address.  right now the 2nd email address only gets a link.  I do not want them to have access to the account only to get a copy of the data.  I have them set up under Email Notifications as a "reader".

  • Form filled out with colors, but when opened in adobe reader they are black

I have filled out a form with custom colors used in the accesability settings, but when I save the document and open it adobe reader they filled in fonts are black.
Is there a way to maintain the accesability colours when printing and opening in adobe reader ?

Accessibility settings are a personal preference. They are set by each
user (or, if you have Reader and Acrobat, in each one). Above all,
they are very much NOT saved in a document, because each user needs to
be able to set their own.

  • PDF Forms filled out don't display on Ipad2

I use Dropbox to organize many of my files.  Some of those files are PDF forms that have been filled out.  They display correctly on my PC and my android phone.  However, they show up as blank forms on my Ipad2.  Why?  I have tried GoodReader, Dropbox, PDFReader -- they show the PDF form, but none of the information that has been added to the form.  It seems like this is an Ipad limitation.  Any help or solutions would be great.
    Regards

Obviously an old OP, but I stumbled on this problem myself recently.  As of Oct 2012 ibooks, Dropbox, and most other pdf viewers don't seem to hande filled out Adobe forms.
The good news is that the current version of the Adobe Reader app does (and its free!).
I was pretty sad after buying FileBrowser and DropbBox Pro only to to discover that forms were showing up blank -- the Adobe Reader app is a life saver

  • Help with java - web form filling out

I am pretty new to java, but I am learning the basics. However, I know next to nothing about html spec/ java net packages.
I have code that goes through a database of "stuff" I have stored. It then generates all the choices that I want to list an ebay auction as. However, I need to get java to fill out the form, get an answer and send a submit command. I know there are .net related classes, but not really sure how to use them. I also am sure there are simplier ways to do this, but am trying to do this in java. I know you basically telnet into port 80 of the host computer, and feed them a line of stuff saying who you are and asking for the new page.
If you want a link go here
    http://pages.ebay.com/sell/index.html
then click on a catagory and log in and you will see the generic sell item form.
Any help you can give is great, assume you are talking to a complete idiot cough.

  • Enabled Usage Rights turned off when form filled out in Acrobat vs Reader

I created a form in Acrobat Pro 9 and enabled the usage rights so the end user can save the form. Anyone who opens it and fills it in using Reader has no problem.
However, if one user begins filling it in using Acrobat (so far only Std to my knowledge), and then either that user or another opens it to continue in Reader, the form fields are no longer fillable. It has become a read only pdf.
I didn't see anything in the properties I could set to avoid this. Is there a way to save the form to avoid this problem?

You mentioned AA7 users. I don't think they can not edit the form at all, just fill it in unless you saved it with backward compatibility. The PDF to them would be like using Reader and that may be the difference for AA7 use. In fact, I am not sure how far back in compatibility the user rights will extend if activated and it might be lost if backward compatibility is used with the PDF Optimizer. Those are some thoughts anyway about the comparisons you made. The other guys are the forms experts and I am not in a position to debate their comments, only offer a possible explanation.

    Hello,
Your form author needs to read extend the form using Adobe Acrobat, then you should be able to fill and save the form in Reader. For more information, please see this http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=2158443&seqNum=3

  • Large file size and slow pagination when form filled out in Reader 7

    Hi all,
I have designed a form with Livecycle Designer 8. For compatibility, I have made it an Acrobat 7 (Dynamic) XML Form. The form itself is 18 pages long and when filled in with Reader 8, pagination is quick and the file size only jumps about 100KB. However, when I fill in the form with Reader 7, it takes about 10-20 seconds to repaginate the form each time a field is filled in and the filled in form size jumps to about 6MB!
Can anyone explain this behavior and tell me if there is a way that I can work around this for my clients using Reader 7?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Performance of forms was a known problem in Reader / Acrobat 7. There were afew things you can do to help but it can't be fixed other than by upgrading to version 8.
This document contains afew ideas to help with form performance:
    http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/en/pdf/lc_designer_perf_guidelines.pdf
There also used to be an Adobe document around for version 7 which stated that 8 pages was the practical maximum for form sizes. You could go a bit bigger than this, but the performance would degrade pretty fast.
As Jared stated before, for large forms, moving to version 8 is about your only realistic option.

  • HT204053 Now I've got it totally screwed up.  I have one address for iCloud and another for iTunes.  I would rather have only 1 but can't make the forms fill out correctly to do that.  What now?

I've just bought my iPhone and have had an iTunes account for some time.  While setting up the iPhone - Apple ID - the form would not allow me to use my currect primary email address.  I had to insert another one because of the iTunes email address apparently.  Now I can't seem to get it straightened out.  I need my primary email address to be the only one and use a secondary address for the "rescue" address. How can I manage this without making everything worse?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You need to use the original Apple ID you used for iTunes with iTunes and iCloud on your new device. What problems did you encounter when you tried to do this.

  • Problems with filling out/going back and editing filled out information and signing forms

Users cannot fully fill out, edit and save forms--
the forms were set up in InDesign CS6, then edited in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for all the form info and after that was set up the forms were saved as extended pdfs to allow adobe reader users to fill them out and sign.
The users are having all kinds of issues with the forms and its been difficult to pin point the exact cause.
    Here are 2 errors:
This document enabled extended features in Adobe reader. This document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
The security settings on this document prevent adding text and/or placing a signature on it from Adobe Reader. To fill out and sign this document you need to print it out.
---I've checked the security on the form and there is no security not allowing them to fill it out and I believe that originally they were able to but the form was saved and then they went back and were unable to edit it. I need to know if its something I need to do on my end or an instruction I need to give to them--steps to filling out and saving programs vesions to use etc..
sorry for some of the holes in the info. the form was created for a client and they sent it out to their employees so I do not have direct contact with the people having the issues just two screenshots, and I have not been able to find an answer that works--this is what I thought would help but it didnt:
    It should solve the signature/adding text  issue—From : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/987256
Your user should go to Extended pane in Reader to apply a digital signature to the Reader extended PDF.
The user is probably trying to use the Sign pane in Reader which has some options disabled according to the document permissions. The new Sign pane in Reader is an integration with Adobe EchoSign service in the sense that it enables an end user to fill-up documents, electronically sign and then send a PDF document, without having the need to print them. The Sign pane provides two options to the user:
1 - Fill and Sign: Here the user can place text using 'Add Text'. Users can add arbitrary text to a PDF, eg. in documents where Reader cannot interact with the document even though the document looks like a form, in forms where user cannot save the filled-up form. In such cases the only option a user has is to print the form, fill it and then fax or fedex the filled up document to the author or scan it and send it electronically. Using the Sign pane in Reader, a user can add text and also electronically sign the document (this is not the same as digital signature) using an image of their signature. He can create a 'signature' from a scanned paper which has user's handwritten signature and place it on the PDF.
2 - Send for Signature: Here the user is sent to EchoSign for collecting signatures from others.

You will get that first message when the document has been changed in a way that invalidates the internal digital signature that's applied when a document is Reader-enabled. Certain changes are allowed (e.g., filling fields, commenting, signing) and will not invalidate the signature, but others are not. The exact cause of the change is often hard to track down, but it can be due to font problems, some type of file corruption, or something that Acrobat/Reader attempts to correct when the file is opened/saved. You will also get the message if the users system time is not correct and is currently set to some time before the document was Reader-enabled. It seems best to use the most recent version of Acrobat to enabled the documents and recent versions of Reader to work with them.
It problem is probably not related to the user using anything in the Sign pane.

  • FORM CANNOT BE FILLED-OUT AND SAVED?

I want the user to fill-out and be able to save to their computer, without saving over my original. It works fine if the user has acrobat standard 8,but if they don't or only have Adobe Reader, the form cannot be filled out and saved. Only a blank copy can be saved or the form filled-out and printed. Please help if you have a solution. Thanks.

Templates designed in LC accept data input from the users however users need to open these templates in Adobe Acrobat. Users can also use Adobe Reader however as designer you need to enable certain user rights for them to fill the forms like they do in Acrobat. For that you need use Adobe ReaderExtensions server this could be little expensive if you are just doing few forms. This server software is licensed based on number of uses or for unlimited uses. If you can not afford both there are few servers available over net to enable those user rights for a fee. You may Google them. You may check the following http://www.unrestrictpdf.com/get-license.html

  • Filled out form is blank

I used FormsCentral to create a form, downloaded it and distributed it. Users are returning it by email. I haven't had any problems, but ONE user, who uses a full paid version of Adobe X, returned their form to me, and when I open it (in MY full paid version of Adobe X) the fields are blank (even if I click on them). However, if I just preview the file in outlook without opening it, I can see the text in all the fields. Any suggestions to get the text to show up in the open document?
