No reports displayed in MSS Report Launchpad

Hello everybody,
We set up ESS/MSS on a distributed environment.
Backend:
     ECC 6.0 EhP 3
     Single-ABAP Stack
     Installed Backend Component EA-HR 603
     Activated Backend Function EA_FIN_1
Portal:
     NW 7.0 SPS 17
     Single-Java Stack
     Installed Components: SAPPCUI_GP 603 SP4, SAP_ESS 603 SP3, SAP_MSS 600 SP15
Problem
The configuration works fine for a couple of ESS and MSS iViews and pages, but we get the following problem with MSS Reports:
-> When calling the Launchpad no reports are displayed and an info message is shown telling "No objects were personalized".
-> When clicking on "Change Launchpad" you see several reports sorted in groupings. They are already listed in the table of shown reports but are not displayed in the launchpad.
-> When clicking on "Save and Exit" you get two additional info messages telling "No Applications entered", but no reports are displayed. When you then open "change launchpad" screen again the reports totally disappear from table of shown reports.
Portal Launchpad Configuration:
-> pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.common
-> The launchpad iView connects to the backend via SSO which works fine for a lot of other ESS/MSS iViews
-> As application parameters the following is configured: "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS&role=MSS&instance=REP&display_external=X"
Backend Customization:
-> When launching transaction "fpb_launchpad_cust" with role MSS and instance REP you can see all the reports which are displayed in "change launchpad" screen.
-> All the reports are Transaction Reports
-> The Manager's Desktop (MDT) is not used
So:
1.) Why are the reports not displayed in the launchpad, but in the "Change Launchpad" screen?
2.) Did we forget any customizing?
3.) Why do we see such info messages like "No objects were personalized"?
4.) And what refers the application parameter "class=CL_FPB_SNI_ACCESS" to?
Please help me,
Dennis

Hi everybody,
finally we managed to fix this bug on our own.
We set up the Managers Desktop (MDT) as suggested by SAP. But the MDT's reports could not be converted to the launchpad.
Then we recognized via debugging that for any reason the following entries were missing in table FPB_LP6_SNI_REQ:
- Role ROLE C 3 MSS
- Instance INSTANCE C 3 REP
Adding these entries manually fixed the problem.

Dennis Bohlmann

  • Bypassing selection screen in custom reports added to MSS reporting

I have created a custom report (using PNP) in R/3 and added it to the MSS reporting (not Launchpad). Even though the manager is selecting his subordinate employee and clicks report result, he still sees a selection screen which i have defined in the custom report.
When the manager runs a sap standard report RPTABS50, he sees data of the employee only he selects.
How do i bypass the selection screen in the custom ABAP report i have added to the MSS?
    Thanks.

Has to take an alternate approach. Picked a standard report by SAP and modified to our requirements.

  • MSS Reports vs. MSS Reporting

    Hi guys,
In the MSS business package, there are 2 pages - Reports and Reporting. Reports has launchpad iView that can be configured to Manager's Desktop. Reporting also works similarly. So what is the difference between the 2 in relation to the Manager's Desktop?

  • How to add report name to MSS reports in NWBC

I am using the standard report Launchpad in HRMSS_REPORTING_LAUNCHPAD in role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_SR_NWBC_3 role to allow managers run certain reports.
When I open Reports launch pad, all the reports appear with the description of the report such as Personal Data, Org data etc.
However when I run the report, the technical name of the report appears at the top.
An example of this would be running report Personal data, when run the header is reading 0HCM_PA_T01_Q0008.
How can I replace the tech name of the report to read the description instead
i.e. Personal data to appear at the top instead of 0HCM_PA_T01_Q0008.
    thanks

    Hello Clive,
I think you should contact your development team. Probably some field is visible in Application Configuration and that is why it shows up. I think the best will be that you seek help from your Development team.

  • Custom Reports in MSS Reports iView

I've looked all over for the answer to this.  I've pulled a custom report through the MSS Reports iView, however, the selection criteria (personnel numbers and orgs) are not being passed.  The custom rpt is being displayed at the selection screen for the custom rpt.  Do I have to do something additional on the custom rpt, like remove the select screen?  Is there something I'm missing in the config for the iView?  Thanks!

  • Is it possible to take a print from MSS Reporting

    Hi all,
Is it possible to take a print from MSS Reporting ?
When I execute a report from the MSS reporting a pop-up is open with the report result.
I need print out this. To do it, I click on Menu > Print and choose the WINPRINT in Output Device.
The message "Spool request (number 0000009418) send to sap printer WINPRINT" appears and the adobe reader open with a error message below.

  • Total No of pages different in report printed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8)

Currently in our application, we are using Crystal Report XI R2 for generating the reports. We are in the process of upgrading the Crystal Report to SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). I updated that on my machine and all the reports work fine. I didn't have to modify any of the reports.
However when comparing the reports, we found that there are few reports on which the total no. of pages differ from the report displayed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). Comparing the reports, it looks all the data that were fit on one page earlier with version XI R2 doesn't fit on the same page with version 13.8, thereby increasing the page counts.
The fonts, page margins everything set on report itself. Nothing being set in the code.
Both the application is using the same report that is pulling the data from the same database. Our application is a web application.
Any suggestion, why this is happening.
    Thanks.
    Sanjay

I am not sure what is being compared here?
    CRXI R2 designer to CRVS?
CR XI R2 in some version of .NET to CRVS?
CR XI R2 using RDC SDK to CRVS?
Also, is this happening on your development computer or after you deploy?
If you compare the the "Page setup" options dialog between reports that work and those that do not work, do you see any difference?
Is this a web or a win app?
Are you seeing the same issue when viewing and exporting - say export to PDF?
What is the printer driver used and it's version?

  • MSS reports displaying Employee Information iView

    Hi all,
I'm currently working on MSS project where I'm trying to show reports on MSS portal.
I have done the neccessary configurations regarding tables:
    T77MWBS (Manager's Desktop Senarios)
    T77MWBFCD (Function Code Definitions)
    T77MWBFCO (Object-dependent Function Codes)
    T77MWBFCH (Function Code Hierarchies)
and also converted MDT data to MSS Reporting Launch Pad using RPT0 senario.
The reports are showing in the MSS portal but when i click on for instance Birthdays, a new window pops up showing Launchpad for Reports page but I'm not able to define selection criteria i.e. select an employee from a list but instead I'm redirected to General Information page where General Data and Personal Data iViews are displayed. I clicked the Options button on the popup window to view Details and I'm able to see:
    Portal Components: com.sap.portal.wdintegrator.WebDynproIntegratorPage
    Object ID:  pcd:portal_content/com.customer.customer_content/com.customer.customer/com.customer.roles/com.customer.mss/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.general_information
A theori i have is that Launchpad for Reports is redirecting me to General Information page and maybe the issue lies here. If that's the case, where do i change the pcd path to the correct Launch pad?
I'm missing some configuration but can't seem to figure out what.
Now, I'm hoping for you experts to guide me and show me the way to a successful and working portal solution.
Points will be rewarded to helpful answers.
    Thanks in advance.

Can somebody please help me with this issue, it's urgent!!
Edited by: Messay on Dec 1, 2011 11:09 AM

    Hello,
Yes, you can build a WDA application to pick up the events from the WDJ application if and only if the events are portal events - quite a few of the WDJ apps actually share information through using a common component - not events.
I would also check however, that there is not an easier way of picking up which employee has been selected - you may be able to within the RFCs that are being called add an enhancement to export the selected person to a shared memory object, which could be read by the WDA component.
I've used this in the past to allow a WDA report to be launched from a WDJ application - taking the details of the selected item (in particular this was for WDA reporting on MSS ECM).
Not sure what you mean with respect to the eventing of the FPM.
You cannot include a WDA component as a Java FPM VC - so there is no way of having the WDA within your Java FPM application - events you raise to the FPM are only handled within the application.
An alternate approach is to use the OADP views for selection and configure the columns to have links that open new windows, use the proxy class of the HPF link to embed in each link the personnel number of the employee selected - pass this as a URL parameter to the new page, this can then be picked up by both WDA applications.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Chris

  • NWBC MSS Reporting launchpad caching reports

I have been configuring the MSS reports using LPD_CUST and I found that my changes weren't being reflected in the MSS Reporting launchpad.  When I then moved on to another user the changes were there.  There must be some sort of Caching going on and I wonder if anyone knows how to clear this.
I have tried clearing the table CKLTEX and this doesnt work.  I saw Chris Paine had detailed on another discussion how to clear the NWBC cache but we are using NWBC html not desktop and this option doesnt seem to be available.
If I could find the function/class/method that  gets the report list for a Role|Instance this would also help if anyone knows that?

  • No data found in MSS Reports.

    Hi All,
I've configured the MSS business package in my EP.I've done all the required configuration to get it work. But in all my MSS reports it is showing "NO DATA FOUND".Even the employee search is showing the same message whereas in ESS the employee search and other views are showing proper data.
Can anyone suggest what could be the issue?
    Your efforts would be rewarded.
    Regards.

    hi,
MSS now use Launchpad for reporting which u need to configure from the backend system.
You need to customise the Launchpad reportfrom the backend uding t-code FPB_LP_MSS_REP_CUST. this t-code will initialise ure Launchpad report. Check that table FPB_LP6_SNI is no
longer empty, and has the required entry. Then run the transaction to
    convert.
Manually add the line to table FPB_LP6_SNI. The values are role = 'MSS', instance = 'REP', and sni_used = ' ' (blank). Then run the transaction to convert.
Also try to run run program #PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA# with type #RPT0#.
If you want only MDT report's...i.e only HR report..you can include Reporting iView from SAP provided content folder...this is standard iView which will display Manager Desktop.

  • Adhoc Query on MSS Report

    Hi Experts,
Would like to know, how to add Adhoc query on MSS reports? Tried to search the thread but couldn't find anything.
Really appreciate kind guidance on the same.
    Thanks,
    Aashish

    Hi,
You can remove it by following ways
    Go to SPRO
    Then follow following path
Integration with Other mySAP.com Components -> Business Packages / Functional Packages -> Manager Self-Service (mySAP ERP) -> Reporting -> Set Up LaunchPad
    and execute
then you can get the list of the REports
over there you can see "Birthday List" Report and Deactivate it
Please execute this steps before the executing the steps i have mentioned above, this will activate the reports used for MSS. Then gofor moving the unwanted reports unactive folder. Just what you have to do it select the unwanted report and move it down to the inactive folder.
    1. In the SAP HCM System choose:
    SAP Easy Access Menu
    Transaction SE38
    2. In the ABAP Editor: Initial Screen enter the Program FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES and choose Execute.
    3. In the Report FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES screen select the MSS Reporting and MSS with Folders options and deselect the checkbox Test Run.
    4. Choose Execute. The sample entries are entered in the Report Launchpad in the portal.
    5. Log on to the portal with User manager1 and check if the sample entries are displayed.
    6. In the ECC system leave the transaction and go back to the SAP Easy Access Menu.
    7. Enter transaction PWPC_CONV_MDT_TO_LPA in the Command field.
    8. In the Report to convert MDT table entries to LPA table entries screen, enter the MDT Scenario RPT0 and deselect the Test run checkbox.
    9. Choose Execute. The list in the next screen shows the reports which have been added to the Report Launchpad.
Do not forget to select MSS with Folders for the FPB_LP_WRITE_ENTRIES report. Otherwise you may get short dumps while editing the report launchpad, because the reports coming from the Manageru2019s Desktop do not have folders.

  • MSS - Reports - Launch Pad - Urgent

    Hi,
Am implementing ESS/ MSS (ECC 6.0) . My EP (7.0) is ready . When i log in to portal page, in MSS role, their is functionality called REPORTS. They are not getting executed. Do i need any configuration frm R/3 for alunchpad ?
Pls help as its high priority. Points will be rewarded.
    Kiran

i think you need to configure under Launch Pad, then only Manager's will be able to access the reports.in this launch pad under manager self-service reporting note, you can create a new folder to add all the reports that you want to be accessed by the managers. quoting below the help available under this node for ready reference
"In this IMG activity, you define the applications (links to reports, transactions, URLs) for the Launchpad iView .
For additional information, see the SAP Library under SAP ERP Central Component -> Business Packages/Functional Packages -> Business Package for Common Parts -> Launchpad.
    Standard settings
If you are using the Hierarchy then the object types of the hierarchy are displayed as object nodes. The object nodes in this case form the first level of the subdivision of the launchpad. For the Business Unit Analyst you can determine the selection of object types under Business Unit Analyst 2.0 (mySAP ERP) -> Hierarchy -> Set Hierarchy. You cannot change the selection for the Manager Self-Service.
    Activities
When you execute the IMG activity for the first time or have not yet saved any settings, you need to decide whether you want to use the Hierarchy. If you do want to use the hierarchy, proceed as follows:
    1. Select an object node. When you do this, other pushbuttons are displayed.
    2. You can assign all applications directly to the object node. In addition, you can group the launchpad by creating new folders. The folders are used in the portal as headers for the links to the applications.
Choose New Folder. Enter a text for the new folder, and choose Enter. The folder is added below the selected node.
    3. To create applications, select the object node or the folder to which you want to assign the applications, and choose New Application.
    4. Enter the required data.
    5. Select the application category. Depending on your selection additional input fields are displayed, which you can use to specify or select the parameters of the application.
    6. If you want to enter a description that is displayed in the portal under the link but is to be longer than 255 characters, choose Editor for Description to the right of the field Descript..
    7. Enter the System Alias (except for URL).
If you donot want to use the hierarchy, first select the uppermost node if this has not already been selected. The uppermost node then takes over the functions of the object node. You can therefore assign folders and applications direct to this node without a hierarchy.
The inactive applications folder is used for collecting the applications that are available in the portal, but that you do not want to display. These applications are displayed in the"

  • Customizing MSS reporting selection period dropdown list

We have diffrent ABAP programs that uses the PNP logical database and we want to customize the period selection dropdown list on the MSS reporting iview. In same scenarios we want to display only 'Today'. In these scenarios we use the report together with a variant.
When the user execute the report, the selection period on the variant is used and that is 100% correct. The problem is that the user change the selection period on the frontend (on the Iview) and this is not what is reflected on the output of the report, becasue the report uses a variant.
Therefore we want to customize the period selection dropdown list on the Iviewin the scenarios where a report uses a variant.
I know that we cannot customize the perido selction on the Iview, beacue we cannot set the properties on the Iview.
Is anybody familiar with how we can accomplish this.
    Regards
    Margariet

    Hi Darren,
We do have a property in the iview for which you can set the period. You need to know the name of the property. Give us the iview name so that we can have a look.
