No signal no imei no

my iphone 4 is showing no signal only searching and no service and when we type #*06* than no imei no is shown

If you go to Settings > General > About you should see the iMEI number.  If that is not being handled by the iOS correctly, try rebooting the iPhone by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.  See if that "wakes up" the iOS.

  • My iPhone 4 signal issues are gone...

Well, like many of people here I had the obnoxious signal loosing issue that is affecting a staggering amount of iPhone 4 users. However, I never realized I inadvertedly fixed the issue until just 10 minutes ago. I had signal issues since Day 1.
Bear with me thru this small story. I saw here a thread on MacRumors about a user experiencing camera issues on his iPhone 4. Said issue was that the camera showed a green spot in the center. I was sorta curious but never really paid much attention to it. This was 4 days ago. Flash forward to yesterday.
I was on the Apple Store picking out a new case for my iPhone 4, along with the respective screen protector. While I was doing that I saw an empty iPhone 4 demo unit and I decided to test drive FaceTime. I fired up both my iPhone 4 and the demo unit and connected. Disaster struck, my iPhone suffered from the same green spot effect as the iPhone from the user on MacRumors. Knowing full well, it was a hardware problem I set up an appointment for today at 6:30 PM.
Flash forward to today 6:30 PM. I got there at 6:15 and the Genius helped me out right away. He saw the problem, diagnosed my phone and concluded as previously stated it was hardware problem. Obviously warranty kicks in. He takes out my Micro SIM card and puts in the new iPhone (this was a brand new, not refurb unit). He activates it and hands it to me for mini inspection. first thing I do is check the camera, and against ALL odds, the same issue plagued this new phone. The Genius and I were, to say the least, shocked. Same issue, different phone. Now, how does this relate to the signal loss? Well, I am getting there so hang on tight.
The Genius does a comparisson between my iPhone and replacement unit to find the exact spot. He then pulls out his and does the comparisson to find his iPhone 4 too suffers from the dreaded green blob/spot. He then tells me there is no other replacement unit for my iPhone and that I had 2 choices. Take my current iPhone and wait if a software fix comes along, or take the replacement phone with me. I decided to wait and keep my phone (it is a hassle to resotre everything to previous state). So the Genius reswaped the SIM card to my phone back and handed it to me. (My iPhone spent 15 minutes with out SIM card while the Genius did all his tests on my and replacement unit, and while he asked for 2nd opinions on the green blob issue)
I went on my merry way, but realized something now. No matter what position I held my iPhone 4 in, the signal never decreased. I held it the many ways I know the signal issue pops and nothing. No bar loss, no signal loss, no call drop. NOTHING. So there you have it.
I am theorizing that moving the SIM card had something to do with the signal issue, because the only thing I have done to my iPhone 4 differently is take out and reinsert the SIM card. Other than that no other changes to it. No setting change, no software change no nothing. Just reinsertion of the SIM card. Now, to prove my theory, I need people who can test this and see if this fixes their iPhone. I know it did on mine, but on yours?
    Check it out.
PS - No, I did not have the green blob issue fixed.
My original thread is found here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=955742
Many users are claiming (me included) the signal issues being fixed.

I have "death-grip" issue. Just ejected SIM card to test SIM contacting the SIM tray issue. I have a 10x loupe and inspected the area in question (SIM card gold contacts touching tray) and I found that there is a space between contacts and SIM tray. Under 10x magnification you can easily see how precice my SIM card was made and cut. There's also a relief rout around contact area. Also there is a thin film of some non-conducting material between SIM card and SIM tray where the tray supports the card. This SIM tray even has the IMEI and Serial number etched on it and under 10x magnification you can appreciate the fabrication and close tolerances even this SIM tray is made to.
I followed all instructions on the macrumors forum and this "DID NOT" solve my "death-grip" issue and I can verify with 100% certainty that the SIM contacts are not touching the SIM tray anywhere.
I do hope this helps others but I am still hoping that this can be rectified with software.

  • IMEI of my new iPhone 3G modified after 2 days (ITALY)

    Hi all
    I have a "little-little" problem !!
After one day of purchase of iPhone 3G (TIM-Italy),this was blocked (impossible also turned off). Following advice of Italian Apple support, I used iTunes to repair it. ALL OK
The day after, this was blocked (signal lost) by saying that was linked to iTunes to run the release, returned to TIM center to Brescia told me that the phone had been tampered with some software program (?????).
After calling Apple told me that we have tried to unlock iPhone with programs that are not iTunes & let alone authorized Apple, then we have explained that the guarantee has lapsed for trying to unlock iPhone!
I just wanted to tell whether it was possible to reactivate the warranty because I never tried to tamper in any way iPhone, I do not ever connected with programs that are not iTunes, and sincerely I would not ever!
The only thing that makes me really angry is that every month I pay 50 Euro to TIM for the contract & therefore hoped in the wake of the guarantee and repair or replacement of iPhone!
The Apple support doesn't check the iPhone becuase, for it (the support) nothing can be done
I don't know if this problem is only software or if some hardware fault can cause the IMEI modifiation.
Now, after a month, after paied the iPhone, after ....... I can't use it.
My iPhone is a beatiful paperweight (beautiful but too expensive).
Help me, please!! I'm not an hacker.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Iphone 4s no IMEI number even pressing the "i" button

Hello guys, I just hope to have an answer to my almost a month of problem regarding my iphone 4s.
first problem is does not showing the IMEI number after pressing the "i" button, which I find it  weird.
This only the first problem, the second problem is the signal keep on searching even it does not have SIM Card. Even I insert an active SIM Card, it still continue to search.
    3rd problem is the

    and
"Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is is temporarlily unavailable blah blah"
    (via the phone itself...)
And here's the hick ups - i bought this to someone selling in a local online buy/sell site. Although he indicate the problem, I never thought it will be this worst. he said it's his father's phone, manage to get a new phone, that's why he's selling this, so I really have no idea weather it's been jailbreak or not. I had try to check this kind of problem but I could not find any related question regarding the blank screen after I press the "i" which is supposed to show the IMEI number. This is also my first time here so please spare me if I had ask a question which u think it has a relevant discussion. I just want to ask at once, and gather answer all together. Any assistance will highly accepted and appreciated.

    Hello z3dg3
Start with the small troubleshooting steps below to see if you can get your iPhone activated. If you are still having issues, you may need to contact Apple for additional support.
    Get help activating your iPhone
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3424
    Resolution
    1. Try these steps if you see one of the messages above:
    2. Check the system status for iOS Device Activation. If the iOS Device Activation status isn't green, try activating your iPhone later.
    3. Restart the iPhone.
Try to reach the activation server another way, then try to activate.
Try connecting to a known-good Wi-Fi network if you can't activate using a cellular data connection.
    4. Try connecting to iTunes if you can't activate using Wi-Fi.
    5. Restore the iPhone.
If you receive an alert message when you try to activate your iPhone, place the iPhone in recovery mode and perform a restore. If you still can't complete the setup assistant due to an activation error, contact Apple for assistance.
If you're asked to enter a password to proceed with activating the iPhone, Activation Lock might be enabled as part of Find my iPhone.

  • Screen gets no 'signal', has power

I live in the US and bought a Z3 d6603 on Amazon at the end of 2014. (the phone was 'imported', and had T-Mobile of Poland software on it)
After 2 months of use, I found that the phone does not display any information, but the backlight does seem to work. It is like a computer monitor that has power but gets no signal, if you look closely you can see the faint grey of the light coming from the LCD. The touchscreen works, I could unlock the phone with double tap and swipe to unlock, and it rings if a call comes through. The phone had been in a case and there is zero scratches or blemishes on the exterior of the phone. I was using it on T-Mobile US.
I replaced the screen on an old HTC MyTouch4G before, but that only needed a hairdryer and small screwdrivers. the back of my Nexus 4 is glass, but after removing two small screws and applying a little heat the rear glass comes off easy enough. But the heatgun methods I saw on YouTube had me worried that I would do more damage to the rear glass and metal frame of the phone. Two local shops said they would try but hadn't worked on Xperias before. (mostly fixing Samsung Galaxys and iPhones)
I am worried that a local shop would damage the phone trying to get the rear glass off, just to find a loose cable (easy fix), damaged LCD panel ribbon ($150-200 ish for a new panel?) or a damaged circuit board (several hundred dollars, and where to get a new one?)
Any thoughts on how to get a fair estimate to properly repair this? When I made a support account with Sonymobile.com/us/ and entered my IMEI, I got a message saying "Our online repair service is not available in your country." I live in Northern NJ, not far from Newark / NYC. Thanks in advance.

    @Steve_z3_6603
Based on what I've seen on the forum is about 2/3 the price of the phone to repair a screen/digitizer. contact Sony Xperia care, use the live chat, of course your phone it's not covered by warranty as its from a different country but they might be able to fix it.

  • N85 GPS Signal

    Good day,
I have installed Garmin Mobile Xt 5.00.10.
Now both Nokia Maps and Garmin Mobile don't receive GPS Signal.
    How can I do?
    thank you

I sent it to the repair facility since it was past 30 days (bought near end of june). Replacement phone gets some reception where I didn't get any before but reception is still worse than the 2610. Either Nokia's build quality is worse for smartphones or the N85 has a design flaw (or Palco/Nokia Repair Center didn't send me a "replacement" and this phone is my original with a new IMEI)
People having reception problems with the N97 worry me. It looks like the N-series is getting weaker reception: /discussions/board/message?board.id=smartphones&message.id=155723&query.id=458011#M155723
One thing is it might be because my SIM card isn't seated correctly. I looked up "gophone weak signal" and saw stuff about the iPhone getting weak signal because the SIM card wasn't seated correctly. This makes sense since the 2610 uses a sort of latch to hold the SIM down while the N85 only slides in. Some iPhone users report better signal by attaching some tape to the top of the SIM card to hold it tighter in the slot. I'm thinking about trying something similar to see if it will help any, but that could void my warranty
I tried sliding out my SIM card a little until it was up against the battery to see if that would seat it better. I tested internet on EDGE and seemed to work faster/better but not sure. Is there a "field test mode" that I can go into with the N85 to see if anything I try is helping?

  • Lenovo P780 suddenly rarely has signal

Hi! First of all, I read a lot of threads in this forum and no, those didn't help me.
I bought a Lenovo P780 in February, ROW version (if I remember ROW123 4GB), imei starts with 860. I installed a custom rom (I checked and it is for this ROW) and it worked fine. One day in May I noticed that I got no signal. Then it came back. Than it went away. It is still the problem of course.
I never dropped nor flooded the phone. I tried installing other GSM modems as people on forums suggested, I tried a lot but none of them worked. I was angry so I took it apart, and saw that the outer shell of the antenna cable was damaged, so I ordered a new one, but it didn't help. I checked the whole PCB under a magnifying glass so maybe I would find any sign of damage so then I can replace the faulty component (I have access to do that), but I found nothing.
I tried it with different SIM cards. Then I found out, that in the Settings menu in the about phone section you can see the exact signal strength (it usually says 0dBm 99 asu which is absurd). You can only access it when you have a SIM card in the device but when you are in, you can take it out and you can still see the signal strength. It sometimes finds signal, but it is very rare.
What should I do? I have no money to replace the motherboard, and of course I have no warranty. Is there a chance that my problem is software-based, or it is surely hardware stuff? What can I do?

I have the same problem. Have you found any solutions?
Both sims had full signal (cosmote and vodafone) and everything worked fine.
Suddenly one day none had signal. If I only leave one sim in the phone sometimes it has full signal, but most of the time low or no signal.
    ANything would help. Thank you.

  • No Signal/Searching.. possible solution??

I just received my second iPhone 4 yesterday, activated, synced...
Everything was fine until this morning when I came to work. Again, it immediately went from 5 bars on Edge to Searching.
    Restarted phone, no change.
Turned on/off Airplane mode, no change.
    Growled at it, no change.
Then I thought.. hm. I wonder if the antenna in this thing is so fine tuned, that it can actually just barely find a 3G signal close by, but the signal is so weak that the phone pops in and out of no signal/searching mode.
So I turned off 3G (wireless was already turned off).
It immediately jumped from 'searching' to 5 bars, Edge.
I did notice that while driving to work this morning, I stayed on 3G a bit longer then usual (my son was watching the signal so I could concentrate on the road). So to all of you with the same issues I had with my first iPhone 4 (which had other issues as well, hence the return after only 1 week), you may just want to give this a try.
Unfortunately, living in Arkansas means I have to content myself with the fact that AT&T just doesn't care about us redneck hillbillies and will not put in more towers (one of their reps actually blamed Arkansans for it.. ya, ooookay).
But, this Searching/No Signal issue seems to be an AT&T problem, not an Apple iPhone 4 issue.
I guess I will be switching to Verizon as soon as Apple decides to let them sell the iPhone as well... And I don't even care how long I have left on my contract!

It sounds to me like the iPhones IMEI has been blocked - this has been discussed a lot on these forums. It basically means that the iPhone has been reported lost or stolen by the owner. I'd recommend calling O2 and asking them. You will need to the iPhones IMEI number which you can find by looking at:
Settings > General > About > And scrolling down to the bottom...it's a 15 digit number.
By calling them they will be able to tell you the phones back ground.
Would I be able to get it exchanged at the Apple Store? I know it's a massive longshot as I'd probably need ID and proof of purchase and that, but I thought I'd give it an ask rather than sell it for spares or repairs when it was possible to get it exchanged.
If the above is not the problem and it's still under warranty then it might be eligible for repair/replacement. You should connect it to iTunes and register it using your own personal Apple ID and information.
Failing both of these I'd put it on an internet auction site and cut my losses.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best of luck..

  • Factory Unlocked iPhone 3G giving "No Signal" woes

My iPhone 3G is from Italy - factory unlocked. Confirmed by iTunes when doing a restore.
Any UK SIM (o2, Vodafone and Orange) I put in the phone shows "No Signal" unless I am right underneath a tower. BUT, if I put my Malaysian SIM in the phone and run roaming with Maxis I get 4-5 bars everywhere - get that!?
Is it a SIM thing - i.e. different technlogy of SIM cards ? I notice the Malaysian SIM has a smaller active area than the UK SIMs.
Or is my IMEI or ICCID profile somehow blocked b he phone or the phone limiting the juice to he antenna for some reason with a UK SIM.
    Running 2.2.1 and 2.30.03
Any advice or next steps I have run out of options.
many thanks to those that can contribute.

    Allan
Your advice is about all I can think of doing. I have a friend in Milan that the phone can be sent back to. I have a funny feeling that when I get the phone back I'll have the same issues.....
I can get a antenna replaced here in the UK for about GBP60....but that would invalidate the warranty.
What is a lingering doubt over it being a hardware issue is why would it work perfectly with one contry's SIM and not anothers ?

  • Unknown IMEI and ICCID issue

I'm going crazy with this. My iPhone 3GS was charging while connected to my iMac. Next thing I know it beeps at me and on the phone it shows the "connect to iTunes" display. I try and connect and disconnect and when I hit the little question mark in the corner is shows that the IMEI and ICCID are unknown. I've never even removed the sim card from my phone.
Then iTunes pops up and says in order to sync I need to put in my iPhone passcode, but when I try that, all the phone will do is go to the make emergency call screen, which it can't even do as there is no signal on the phone. So, basically every thing it is telling me to do I've either tried to do or have not been able to do because it wont let me.

    *Try this:*
1.) Take out your SIM card using a paper clip (or SIM removal tool)
2.) HOLD the Sleep/Wake & Home Button until the phone restarts
3.) Re-insert your SIM card (after it's done restarting)
4.) HOLD the Sleep/Wake & Home Button again until the phone restarts
5.) Open up iTunes and connect your phone to your computer
The next thing to try if that doesn't work is the 'Restore' options in iTunes. If restore fails too, then you will need to bring it in to have it looked at.

  • What are Device PIN and Device IMEI please?

    Dear World...
I live in Germany and O2 is my network. I've set up my email and bbmessanger accounts and everything worked great until a few days ago. An icon 'email setup' has appeared again but my email works fine. I can't get online now though it is asking me for a Device PIN (the one I got with the phone isn't working) and a Device IMEI and I have no clue what that means or where to find that.
Also now my bbmessanger receives messages but I can't send any now (like the dude from the UK with the vodafone problem) but I can't get online with my blackberry because of this STUPID email setup thing. Please help I'm nice
One last thing: why does my service keep chageing from 'Edge' (data) to GPRS? I can call other countries but they can't call me apparently because these signals which keep changeing are too weak. Is there a way to choose one? Thanks guys

Your PIN and IMEI are listed at Options > Status on your BB.
OR, remove your battery and both are listed on the white stick underneath the battery.

  • IMEI number is greyed out and unable to activate phone.Apple India is not supporting any suggestions?

I bought iPhone 5 in Singapore in May '13 and then moved to India . The phone worked well in India till end Sep'13. But in Oct '13, while auto installing 7.0.3, the phone started hanging and the  signal went for "search " forever. I tried to reset the phone to factory settings and everything went blank. It is stated that the IMEI number has been greyed out in the phone and only Apple Singapore can fix it.
Apple India refused to touch the phone as it was bought in Singapore. Tried with online support without any success till now. I am unable to send the phone to Singapore for repair - as it cannot be send by courier by individuals and Apple Singapore service does not accept over courier.
Tried online support and but it did not work
Please suggest option to repair and make the phone usable in India.
Regret for having bought iPhone at Singapore.

Thank you for the quick response. I understand warranty coverage is only for Singapore ( place of purchase).
Help required: Can the online support from Apple really help in restoring the phone?
1.What is the purpose of iPhone Restore option in iCloud / iTune ? if it user cannot do in such instances
2.Why should the IMEI number get "greyed" after a use of 6 months?
3.Why should a Apple working product fail when updating a new version of the software?
Surely points 1 to3  above are shortcomings of Apple software and its product. Such  HIGH priced premium product needs much more reliability. Apple should consider global warranty specifically for people who travel -else the problem will erode its market share. Apple competition too have the same issue.
Having stated the above, I sincerely regret going in for a Apple product  and that too buying in Singapore. I have learnth a hard and  extremely costly lesson
