No sound in headset

i just got a iphone 4 yesterday not even a full 24 hours and now one of the earpieces has no sound its the one on the right side with the mic and all the mic and buttons still work just no sound in the right earpiece is there a way to fix this or can i send it back to get a new one cause im pretty sure they shouldn't be broken this fast

Try a different set of headphones. If the problem only exists in the stock headphones than they are faulty. If the problem persists with different headphones then it is a problem with the iPhone.
Call Apple and let them know. If you near an apple store make an appointment to have the headphones replaced or the iPhone to be looked at. They (the headphones) are covered under the same warranty as the iPhone.

My Ipod plays only when docked. No sound through headset or when not on docking station

Try the following to eliminate a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If still a problem that indicates a hardware problem with the iPod. An appointment at the genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • A215 no sound from speakers, but sound with headsets

I have two A215-S5818 Satellite laptops.  One is a XP Pro build and one is a Windows 7 Ultimate build.  Neither unit has sound from the speakers but have sound from a headset.  The Win 7 versions has sound from the speakers if the headset is plugged in.  The XP unit only has sound via headsets.
The device manager is happy with both builds. I have no flags or unknows or question marks in the device manager.
Both units have every update from Microsoft.  The Win 7 unit is IE7 and the XP unit is IE8.
Have gone to Realtex site for the driver downloads without success.  Have purchased a recovery disk that included XP, VIsta WIn 7 drivers.  No help here.
My Bios is 1.0. I have seen two motherboards destroyed by BIOS update via windows and via a bootable CD.
Going to BIOS 2.0 is not an option unless Toshiba will do it and back it up with a new MB if it fails.  In fact I have sent one MB to a Toshiba qualified repair facility and they were unable to update to BIOS 2.0
Both units run nicely and all I want is sound from the built in speakers.
Anyone run into this headset only issue?

Hello, yes I have a new windows 7 home premium satellite L505, it has never had sound on the laptop speakers. A tiny sound indefinable without speakers from my old PC. Headphones are the same..no sound definable. I have called Toshiba 5 times, got hung up on 4. with the promise if the call was lost they would call back..that did not happen. The last contact there said wipe it out start over.  The speakers have been the same since it came out of the box. I really do not want to lug speakers with my laptop. I have looked at every download, fix that I knew, so far the speakers have to go where the laptop goes..so much for wireless..and customer service. I certainly would like some help from someone. The 4th person had me uninstall the realtek sound, so at the end of that call I did not even have that, I had to restore to get it back. I was told it would cost to get this fixed, or replaced.

  • External Speaker stopped working - get sound through headset

I have a Zire 72.  The external speaker stopped working.  If I listen to music or voice memos through a headset, I can hear the message so the programs are working.  I have tried a soft reset but no results.  Has anyone had this expierience?  Sounds and alerts all set to high in preferences.
    Thanks.

The speaker cutoff switch may be stuck in the headset jack.
    Try this procedure.
Turn the Z72 off. Get a non-conductive electrical contact cleaner (Home Depot has this in the electrical dept.)
Spray a few drops on the headset plug.
Insert and remove the plug in the headphone jack 5-10 times.
Wait several minutes for the cleaner to dry.
Power on the Z72 and see if the speaker works. If not, try the procedure again.

  • What is better sound quality headset MH 710 ot MH700

As the headline says which headset gives better quality sound...I own the HPM77 and want something as good as that!
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you look on Amazon UK, these headsets are very similar in terms of both specs and price (£13-£15), and both have excellent reviews, so judging from that , I would say that they both have very good sound quality, so I don't think you will find any discernible difference between them.

  • Problem with system sounds and headset!

  • No sound from headset

Well I just got my new Sound Blaster Arena surround USB gaming headset, plugged it in, and I heard nothing.
So I install the drivers that came with the CD, and my computer recognizes the headset plugged in. The physical volume control is syncing up with the volume control on my taskbar (the creative one). Note, I have windows XP SP3 on this computer.
I plugged it into my laptop (windows vista), and it worked fine even without installing the drivers.
Is there a known compatibility issue with my headset and SP3 by chance? Any help would be great, thanks.

Literally minutes afterwards, I have fixed my own problem.
I believe I disabled my old sound card, and just rebooted the computer and it worked like a charm.

I have a 27-inch i7 iMac running 10.6.2 and I can confirm that replacing the kernel extension from 10.5.6 works just fine. I had been having this problem every since 10.6.2 (for some reason it worked up until then). I don't think this fix will work if you are booting with the 64-bit kernel (the default on ALL macs is to boot the 32-bit kernel so you would specifically have to be doing this). I haven't tested it in 64-bit though.
Here are the steps I followed:
    1) Download the AppleUSBAudio.kext from 10.5.6 from the following URL.
    http://evo-wiki.cern.ch/twiki/pub/FAQ/AudioProblemMacOSX1057/AppleUSBAudio.kext. zip
    2) Unzip it.
    3) Open up terminal
    4) Make a backup of the existing driver by running the following in terminal
    cp -Rp /System/Library/Extension/AppleUSBAudio.kext ~/Documents/AppleUSBAudio.kext-BACKUP
    5) Exit any applications that are using a USB audio device and unplug all USB audio devices.
    6) Unload the existing AppleUSBAudio driver from the kernel by running the below command in terminal.
    sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBAudio.kext
If you get an error saying " not found for unload request" your fine. If you get an error claiming it can't be unloaded because its in use (don't have the text in front of me) then stop and go back to step 5.
    7) Remove the existing driver by running the following in terminal.
    sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBAudio.kext
    8) Put the new driver in place by running the following in terminal.
    sudo mv ~/Download/AppleUSBAudio.kext /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBAudio.kext
    9) Load the new driver by running the following in terminal.
    sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUSBAudio.kext
    10) Confirm the new driver is loaded by running the following in terminal.
    kextstat | grep AppleUSBAudio
The output should look like the folliowing (the 2.5.8b13 is the important bit, some of the other numbers might be slightly different):
    cfb@snarfblat:~/> kextstat | grep AppleUSBAudio
    141 0 0x96c6f000 0x28000 0x27000 com.apple.driver.AppleUSBAudio (2.5.8b13) <95 94 30 14 8 7 5 4 3 1>
At this point you should be good to go. The only issue with this "fix" is that any time there is an update from Apple there is a chance that the driver will get replaced with a newer one. After each update you should run the command from step 10 again to confirm that you have version 2.5.8.b13. If it gets updated, repeat the above process.
NOTE: Jaycyn I have tried to post this to your WoW forum post of the same issue (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22048900603&postId=2204747 77020&sid=1#18) as that is how I found this thread and the solutions but there is something messed up with my forum account preventing me from posting to the WoW forums.

  • Sound/speakers/headset

Since I upgraded to windows 7, I have no sound from my speakers and the speaker symbol is lite with 0/. I did have sound with my headset, until I tried to fix the other speakers and I must have deleted the headset sound now. I have a Pavilion dv7-1232nr laptop.

Thanks Farby but it appears there is nothing obstructing the port. I also tried to clean the port but it is no use. Any other thing I can do?
    Thanks again!

  • Bug? USB microphone sound over headset

Since the upgrade to Lion I can hear myself speak via the microphone of my Logitech USB headset through the headset itself. Not through the external speakers though. Whatever I set the output to, my sound is hearable through the headset.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is this a bug?
There is no 'mute microphone sound' option anywhere like there is in Windows as far as I know.

  • Surround Sounds Gaming Headsets on the Mac?

Any have any experience with or know of any surround sound headsets that work with the Mac? I've been hunting around for one (for Gaming/Skype) and most of the headsets that I found don't support the Mac. Or, when they, do, it's stereo only - no 5.1/7.1 surround.
Anyone have any thoughts on that?
    - Are there any Mac USB Surround Headsets?
    - Does Snow Leopard even support surround output over USB? (I know my Mac Pro works well connected via TOSLink to a surround system.)
    Thanks in advance!

if you run windows in bootcamp you are running the windows natively. that means the quality will be as good as your hardware can support. I only have a couple of games but they run excellent in bootcamp as near as I can tell. hard disk space is a different matter but you'll have to deal with that either way.

  • I cant hear sounds from my iPAD, but i can hear sounds from headset.

I tried reset and restart. It worked for a few times, but is is not working now. Any suggestion?

Thanks, the bluetooth was off. I am now relying on headset now. I am using skype and i am able to turn on the iPAD speaker with control bar, but i am not able to turn it on Safari. Now that i am sure it is not hardware failure, it is software conflict, just don't know how to adjust it correctly.  I will go to Apple Store to bug some of sales now.
