No transparent keyboard on iPad Air

Hi. I just bought a new iPad Air. Updated to latest ios 7.0.4
And I also own an iPhone 5. Updated to latest iOS 7.0.4.
But in my iPhone the keyboards are transparent and gives a cool blur effect
of the colours in the background.
Both black keyboard for spotlight and the white keyboard are transparent.
But the keyboards in my iPad are not transparent. They are opaque
And doesn't give any background colour blur effect.
Increase contrast and reduce motion settings are turned off in my ipad.
But when I run iPhone apps in my iPad. (Sandboxed with black borders.)
In those apps. I get the transparent keyboards.
How do I get the transparent keyboard in my iPad throughout the OS.
I like the effect in my iPhone and would really love to see it on my iPad as well.
Thank you.

The iWatch s/w is one small app. No big deal.
I have no problems with voice navigation on iOS 8.2.
I believe that your problem may be that you have the WiFi only iPad which gets its location from nearby WiFi routers that it sees and which are in Apple's router location database. If it does not see routers it does not know where it is. This would prevent voice navigation from working.

  • Issue with the on-screen keyboard in iPad Air running ios 7.1.2

The onscreen keyboard on my iPad Air (ios 7.1.2) disappears abruptly while typing in a text field. Each time I was typing in the Spot Light search field (or any text field for that matter) I took great care not to tap the area on my screen other than the keyboard just to be sure the keyboard doesn't disappear on its own. I've also tried the hard reset by pressing down the power and the home button simultaneously. These fixes were only temporary and the issue in question has been coming back rather intermittently. It is very annoying to keep swiping down to open the spotlight search field each time the keyboard vanishes for no apparent reason.

It is not a bug in iOS 7, as several hundred million people haven't commented on it.  Reset: are you holding down both buttons until the Apple logo is displayed?  If a reset doesn't fix it, try restoring the phone from the last backup. If that doesn't work, restore as a new device. If that doesn't work, take it to Apple.

  • How do you connect a USB MIDI keyboard to iPad Air?

    Hello,
I can't get my USB keyboards to connect to my iPad Air.  I used to use the camera connection kit with my 1st gen iPad and it worked perfectly.  Now when trying to connect using my camera connector plugged into a lightning to 30 pin adapter with the iPad Air I get no response when trying to use my keyboards with Garageband, etc.  This seems like a step backwards!!!
Can anyone advise on how to use a USB MIDI keyboard with the iPad Air?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    Same problem here...
I just read on another forum that someone managed to connect a midi device using a simple converter.
I have a digital piano with the square type USB connector, bought an adapter to convert the iPad Air's ligtning USB cable's USB end to that square connector, plugged it in, GarageBand did not respond to the Midi input.
on a macbook pro it works ok, but would be nice to use the iPad now that I bought it...

  • Wired keyboards for iPad Air 2/adapter

Can an Apple/Mac wired keyboard that has a USB cord be successfully used on the iPad Air 2 via the Air's Lightning input using a "USB to Lightning" adapter cable? We are specifically looking at the apple certified amazonbasics USS-Lightning adapter cable
    Thanks!

I have a 10W charger from a 1st gen. iPad that I use to charge the iPad it came with, an iPhone 4, and even a 3rd gen. iPod nano.  I have also used the 12W charger that came with my mom's 4th gen. iPad to charge the devices above for a couple years now with no detrimental effects.  Charging time in theory would be 20% less with the 12W vs. the 10W but that isn't technically true since the '10W' charger is actually a 10.71W charger (5.1V x 2.1A).  The '12W' charger is actually outputting 12.48W (5.2V x 2.4A) meaning the 12W iPad charger outputs 16.5% more power over the 10W charger and would charge the device 16.5% faster.
I also just received the new iPad Air 2 and was surprised to see that it came with a 10W charger.  But since I don't wear a watch anymore I won't worry too much about the 10 extra minutes it will take per hour to fully charge a depleted iPad (16.5% of 60 minutes is 9.9 minutes).  And of course, I am not taking into account the improved battery tech. and performance on the new iPad.

I tried everything. It just won't pair. When I turn it on, the message pops up what code to type in to pair, than quickly jumps to an error message saying "Pairing Unsuccessful". I don't even get time to input anything. Someone help me here.

  • Can an iPad Air 2 battery be used to recharge it's wireless Bluetooth keyboard?

Can the battery of an iPad Air 2 be used to recharge it's bluetooth keyboard ?
I have a female-female USB adapter to connect the 2 male USB cords

Hello Eric3171, I'm sorry but the battery in a iPad only supports itself and can't give power to other items. If you have a blutooth keyboard then it must have some sort of charging system. If it has a UBS charger, then it can be plugged into any computer (doesn't have to be Apple). If you still have the box it came in, see if there is a manual/ guide on how to use it. Hope this helped you.
    Have a nice day

  • Keyboard issues with IOS 8.02 and iPad Air

Does anybody know how to fix the following issue...
When using iOS8.02 spotlight search on my iPad Air in Landscape mode
the keyboard (Apple keyboard, not 3rd party) stays on the side of the screen.
Spotlight search is in landscape mode...but the keyboard is in Portrait mode
Never happened with IOS7...Started in IOS8...not fixed in 8.02
I can temporarily fix it by rebooting the Ipad...but it just happens again and again
The keyboard works when like this...but it is just sideways
I have not installed any 3rd party keyboards, I have only ever use the Apple keyboard

    additional info:
3 apps had updated before this bug started:
    ------- 500px (fixed layout problems),
------- Google (some Now card issues&iphone6plus bugs),
    ------- Google+ (voiceover crash)
deleted the three WHICH IMMEDIATELY FIXED THE BUG!!!
then reloaded one at a time and tested -- the bug has not returned,  as of yet ...
suggest looking in Apps\Updates and see which apps have updated since the bug appeared ... delete them and reload them.

  • External Keyboards IPAD Air

If anyone is considering buying an  external keyboard do not consider the Logitech Fabric Skin Keyboard Folio for IPAD Air at $149.00.  It is nice looking but the tabs that old the Ipad in are made of plastic and the upper left one is extremly thin and will crack due to their use of a plastic button to press the on/off button on the ipad.  The torque caused by pressing the key causes it to crack.  Mine only took 45 days.  Then Logitech wants you to send it back and wait 10-15 days to get a replacement.  Poor customer service.
I recommend the Belkin QODE Ultimate Keyboard Case for iPad Air, its what I replace my Logitech fabic keyboard with.  My previous Belkin for my IPAD 4 was high quality and durable.

i just fixed my ipad air's muffling sound and vibration issues. very happy. hope below will help you all!
go to settings > general > accessibility > go to HEARING - move the bar all the way to R
hold Power and Home buttons to restart
go back to the HEARING settings - move the bar back to the middle
Now, the speaker should sound much clearer. if you want to reduce vibration, turn the bar to L or R.
    All the best. CC
P.S. Apple, please keep up the good work. too many issues lately!!!

  • HT4108 Does anyone know if there is a blue tooth keyboard for an ipad air that will allow for a slideshow presentation to pair with a monitor.

Looking for a blue tooth keyboard that is compatible with the iPad air that has slideshow functionality for pairing with a monitor.  I thought Zagg had one but they do not with the new operating system.
    Thanks.

Is there a text box generator in InDesign that will allow you to create a text box with XXX amount of words in it? I work for a newspaper pagination desk and we always get asked to keep a hole for a story that may have 500 words in it. If there is such a thing this would be greatly helpful for people in my position to use this and implement it in the whole office so that we could plug in a space and keep a rough idea as to how much space we need.
Thanks in advance for your help

Use Type > Fill with Placeholder Text to generate lots of text. Select some text, then use Window > Info to display the number of selected words. Expand or contract the selection by holding Shift, or Shift+Cmd/Ctrl, and pressing arrow keys. When you have the number of words you want, copy, press Escape, click an empty spot on a page, then paste; the copied text appears in is own text frame. Select the frame and use Object > Fitting > Fit Frame to Content contain all the text within the frame.
Search Google for terms like "InDesign placeholder text" without quotes for info on changing the actual placeholder text, and also info on a text generator.

  • 2 Problems with the Ipad Air...midi keyboard and usb microphone

    IN SHORT:
2 Problems with the Ipad Air...what midi keyboard will connect to the lightning camera connector and what microphone as well?  There seems to be issues with the ipad air not being able to power them.  Has anyone got any devices to work yet?
    IN DEPTH:
I have a yeti microphone that when I plug in it says its using too much power.  A little samsung go mic I have plugs in find and works but isnt quite what im looking for.  My midi keyboard is not reading...its probably 15yrs old (didnt expect it to work).  I have ordered a usb powered keyboard but im now nervous it may not work if it requires too much power.  Has anyone had any success with a particular model of keybaord?  I saw a youtube video of the CME Xkey in which it was plugged into an ipad that uses the lightning jack, but was unsure if it was the air or a different model.
Any help is appreciated on this...I love my ipad air and hoping to make it my fully functional music recording device.
By the way I mostly use garageband

    hey mate
Yes what I ended up doing is buying a powered usb hub.  They are about 10 dollars or so on amazon.com.   There are tons to choose from.  I use a yeti micrphone now with no issues and a midi keyboard.  You will need the lightning usb adapter too.  You plug the lightning adapter into the ipad and the hub into the adapter then plug all your accessories into the powered hub.  So it works well you just gotta buy an extra piece of equipment.
