No users in account setting

I bought my computer from a friend and I was changing some things and somehow I don't have any users listed under accounts. I can't do anything it just shows blank when I click on users and the acct is an admin acct. Any suggestions?

I know this is an old post, but had a similar issue with our remote office.  We have a SBS 2011 server with Exchange 2010 that is our DHCP and DNS server.  Recently replaced old routers with new ones.  Set up news ones and configured gateway
to gateway VPN tunnel to our remote office.  Users where able to get to file shares on server but could not connect to to exchange.  OWA worked fine.  The problem ended up being with DNS.  When the remote office router was setup everything
was setup correctly except for one thing.  Under DNS settings there was a pull-down menu that had Proxy server or Use settings as below.  It was set at proxy server so it was going out to internet to get proxy server instead of going to our server. 
I changed it to Use Settings as Below and then could connect to exchange.

    No it is not possible.  Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

    Did you log out of one account and into the other or just used Fast user switching?
    Is the permissions set to anyone?
    When you move data to teh Shared folder is it copied or just moved?
    If copied then it's not a folder both can access, just a way station like a USB thumb drive that things are coped too and off of likely.
    You can run this #5 on each user account to reset the user permissions once they are taken back out of the Shared folder

  • New iPhone user needs guidance setting up 4 iPhones for family - best approach?

    Hi - I'm a new iPhone user tasked with setting up 4 iPhones for family (three 4S, one 3GS). I set up the first 4S using my mother's existing Apple ID (she has an iPad) and I think (hope) hers is fine. When I set up my father's phone, my sister said to enter my mother's Apple ID during setup since they wanted to use a single Apple ID for iTunes purchases. The setup screen I'm referring to the 7th screen into the setup process for a new iPhone 4S (after the Welcome, Language, Country/Region, Location Services, Wi-Fi Networks, and Set Up iPhone screens), where it asks you to "Sign In with an Apple ID" or "Create a Free Apple ID". This screen was where I entered my mother's Apple ID into my father's phone.
    By entering my mother's Apple ID on my father's phone at this point during setup, I seem to have created a "clone" of her phone - their phone numbers are distinct and they can call each other but iMessages sent to either of them initially appeared on BOTH phones. I think I have now fixed that by creating a separate Apple ID for my father after the fact and entering it under Settings>Messages. Thinking I could also enter his new Apple ID under Settings>iCloud, I found I could not change it from my mother's Apple ID (it's greyed out). I saw a recommendation in another post to click on the red "Delete Account" button at the bottom, but will that delete my mother's entire account or only its association with my father's phone?
    Backing up a step or two, I'm worried that at this point I should have entered/created a new Apple ID on screen #7 during initial setup of my father's phone (instead of entering my mother's Apple ID), and that just changing settings in iMessage, iCloud, etc. won't really fix any problem(s) I've created. I hesitate to set up the other two phones before knowing how badly I've already messed things up with this one.

    Now I'll answer your questions)

    Yes.  Create his own apple id and sign him in.  then tap settings ->store -> tap on the account name -> sign out.
    Then sign in your fathers apple id.  (create your fathers apple id on the computer, its much easier, trust me).

    No.  Tap settings -> icloud, and turn everything off (keep on the phone option).  Then DELETE ACCOUNT (it's got red around it and at the bottom of the screen if you scroll down).  You cannot sign out of iCloud, you can only delete the account.  Then clean up the contacts and information on the phone. 
    Then you tap settings -> iCloud and sign in.  Put your fathers apple id in the section.  His information will be uploaded to www.icloud.com.  Then go to www.icloud.com and sign in with his apple id.  Make sure his information is uploaded (you'll have to select timezone and such). 
    From that point you are fine except for iMessage.
    For iMessage to function properly, only one apple id can be signed into the iTunes store (settings -> store).  If they are both signed into the same apple id on the iTunes store, than you need to turn off iMessage on one of the phones.  The iMessage may be delievered to either phone when both are signed in under the same apple id in the iTunes store.
    tap settings -> messages -> imessage off 
    This also disables facetime.  If you want them to have iMessage and Facetime, they have to have seperate apple id's signed into the iTunes store.
    Have I missed some comprehensive post that clarifies the best way to set things up for families new to iPhones, or do needs vary so much that no single best way exists?
    Not that I've seen, will consider creating one if I have time.

    Your best bet is to create each apple id on the computer (keyboards are easier to use) and then sign them each in during the creation process.  Then change the iTunes store info to the stored apple id.
    This will allow each person to serpate iClouds without interfering with each others Cloud as you set up new devices.

    Doing it this way can cause problems (or used to, not sure if it still does), initially, when you set it up, it wants to create a backup or upload the blank info to iCloud.  You are better off setting up their own apple id first and signing in with that, and then changing it in the iTunes store.
    I'm off to bed, I'll check this thread tomorrow and see if you have any more questions/problems.  Remember, always create a back-up before you do anything.

    This problem arose after changing the set-up one of our Emac's
    I changed it from a single account that we all used, to 4 accounts
    with one as the admin account as well. Burned CD's used to play fine on this 1.0 ghz Emac (1GB Ram, 40Gb HD) , (note they
    do play on our other Mac's (Emac 1.25ghz)or Imac 800mgz
    (all running 10.3.9 OSX) Commercial CD's play fine on the Emac in question, Burned CD's eject when inserted. I ran Tech Tool
    , everything passed. Is it a fluke that it happened when
    I did the account change or did I not set something up corectly. The computer is under warranty with Apple Care.
    My daughter did note it make's noise now when burning cd's
    which it did not do before. She copied some photos to a cd-r
    (noisy burn) could not play it back on the 1.0 eMac she burned it on but
    was able to play the CD-r on our Imac 800mghz . ? bad drive
    I noted other similiar issues oin this forum (but I did not note account set up being done then the drive acting up which may be a total coincidental event. We do use brand
    name CD-R's and handle them with care and use cases for
    our Cd's. Puzzled?

    I'm not aware of any OS X system setting or user preference that would distinguish between a commercial (pressed) CD and a burned (dye layer) CD-R. The is a physical difference in that the two types of discs reflect the CD laser LED light slightly differently; commercial pressed discs are in general more reflective. If there's a thin coating of grome or dust on the CD optics, especially the lens, that could account for reading commercial CDs but failing on burned CD-Rs. A pass or two (or three) with a CD lens cleaner kit may suffice to restore operations. If a lens cleaner doesn't help, then by all means contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider since the Mac is under warrenty. If the drive's LED power putput is failing, that would give the same symptoms and no amount of lens cleaning would help; replacement of the drive would then be called for.

  • How to report with different time zone dynamically based on user's account?

    Hello
    I am wondering is there a way to change the report's date & time data based on user's locale setting in OBIEE?
    Let's say the user log in to OBIEE with eastern time zone setting. The data that's in the database is storing a transaction of $400 at 1am Pacific time.
    So when this user run a query which does something like 'select date, transaction, amount from date, transaction, sales where this = that', it should display the $400 amount done at 4am eastern time instead of 1am pst.
    What I have done is to have data stores in date dimension to be UTC time, and I have also changed the data type of the date column to be 'local time zone'. DB is Oracle DB 11G now.
    Now this query works perfectly well in the DB as long as I run the following commend first:
    Alter session set time zone = 'whatever my time zone'
    and then
    Select date, transaction from tables..
    The date displayed will automatically be converted into different time zone..
    Since everything is working nicely from Oracle DB level, I need to know how to make it work when OBIEE sends the same query down to the DB..
    I know that, probably I will have to enter the above alter session commend in the connection pool, however, I can't hardcode the time zone value.
    I also don't want to store user's time zone in the user table because these users travels a lot. So even if his table setting is EST, but at a given day he can be traveling to pst time zone and view reports.
    Is there a way to dynamically set the time zone based on user's account locale setting?
    Let me know if you guys have implemented something similar or not

  • SYSTEM user's accounts get locks automatically

    Oracle SYSTEM user's account gets lock automatically after every 4-5 days. I user to run following query which unlocks the account:

    In my opinion, you should immediately find out who constantly tries to guess the password of system instead of making it possible for him to try that indefinitely without locking the account. That is like switching off the annoying alert sirene if someone constantly tries to break in.

  • Problems with POP email accounts set up on iPad air why can't I send emails?

    I have an Ipad Air and am having problems with POP email account set up.
    I can receive emails however I cannot reply or create a new email and send it.
    Is there something I need to fix in Outgoing settings? these are the same as on my MacPro using same ISP provider Optus the only difference is that the Ipad has a prepaid sim card - however still with Optus.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Set one mail account set to manual fetch, but now autofetches automatically

    I have a iPhone 3GS and upgraded to OS 4 the other day. I have four email accounts on my phone. I have three set to autofetch every 15 minutes and the fourth account (which is email I use for spam and to sign up for stuff) is set to manually retrieve. I just don't want to be notified everytime I get some crap email. Wasn't a problem prior to the OS 4 update. It would check everytime i opened up the email app, but not otherwise.
    I have the settings the same as before with other accounts set to fetch every 15 minutes and the account (a Yahoo acct) set to manual fetch only. I also make sure that the email app is closed (i.e. not running in the background as OS 4 allows.) Still, it seems to fetch like all the others and is incredibly annoying.
    Any fixes?

    I am also having an issue with my iPhone 4 mail client.
    Prior to upgrading to the 4 from my 3GS, the Mail app would only download new mail when prompted to manually (ie, on app launch or on manual check).
    Currently, all settings indicate that mail is set to fetch only manually, yet is downloaded 100% of the time without prompting when launching any of the following apps:
    Yelp
    Phone
    iPod
    It launches intermittently with any of the following apps (between 50% and 75% of the time):
    Facebook
    Photos
    Camera
    Tron
    Breakspin
    Wikipedia
    Messages
    The mail app also randomly downloads intermittently, without any prompting from myself as a user.
    I have checked, rechecked, and triplechecked the settings. Push is off, fetch is set to manual in all applicable locations, and I have rebooted and reset the phone. I've even gone so far as to restore from a backup, to no avail.
    My accounts are checking from MobileMe and from a personal (non-Yahoo, non-AT&T) e-mail account.
    This is, needless to say, most frustrating.

    I want to be able to setup a user mobile account, with the home directory stored locally and not synced to the server.  What is the best way to do this? I am running Server 10.6 with 10.6 clients.  Open Directory will be used to authenticate and manage preferences.   Also, this one account will be used simultaneosly in a computer lab setting, so files will be stored locally in the client, hence the need to NOT sync to the server.  Any Ideas?

    For my user accounts, I have the accounts set to disable after 180-days of non-use.
    I'd like to be able to determine which accounts *have been disabled* because of this. Graphically, I can only see this in WorkGroup Manager when a user actually tries to log in to their account and it fails because of this -- then the user gets an "X" next to their name in WGM.
    But this "X" doesn't appear unless the user tries to access his/her account.

    This shows me that 259200 minutes (the default) will be when my account is disabled from maxMinutesOfNonUse -- but nothing about how long it's been since I've used my account.

    And/or a command that will show my how many "MinutesOfUse" an account has (meaning how long it's been since a user connected to my server)?

    For my user accounts, I have the accounts set to disable after 180-days of non-use.
    I'd like to be able to determine which accounts *have been disabled* because of this. Graphically, I can only see this in WorkGroup Manager when a user actually tries to log in to their account and it fails because of this -- then the user gets an "X" next to their name in WGM.
    But this "X" doesn't appear unless the user tries to access his/her account.
    For example, here's the policy on my account:

    This shows me that 259200 minutes (the default) will be when my account is disabled from maxMinutesOfNonUse -- but nothing about how long it's been since I've used my account.

    You can send over WiFi, but it sounds as if you need to setup your Gmail account, or did you do this already?
