No wrapper vis created when importing web service

Hi,
I am having an issue in LV 8.5 when importing a web service my company created. Everything goes well, no errors, I get a list of methods to import, a project and library are created. However, in the end no VIs are created in the lvlib file.
I tried the example http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/4728 which imports from ws.cdyne.com and VIs were created.
I am suspecting that the WSDL has some flaw, but I am not a web service expert nor the creator of the web service.
Any advice on how to proceed?
Thanks,
Premise03 (Chris Roth)

Problem solved      New problem
I just installed Labview 8.5.1. The problem is gone. However, a new problem appeared. The XML output does not contain the actual result values. When I call the web service using SOAPUI from http://www.soapui.org/, I can see the actual result values in a section of the XML output called diffgr:diffgram. When I inspect the Labview XML output, the whole diffgram section is missing!
Our IT guy says that they have not payed much attention to the WSDL since they themselves run Microsoft .net only. Could there be some WSDL-non-according-to-standard problem? Another thought: Is Labview capable of handling the diffgram data type? What do you guys think? Please see attached copies of output.

• Error when importing Web Service Model

Hi,
I am having trouble importing a Web Service model into my Web Dynpro component.
I have successfully published my SessionBean method as a Web Service which works correctly when used from the Web AS Web Service Navigator.
However, my Web Dynpro cannot correctly create a model from the WSDL. The problem seems to be with the last parameter of the method, a two-dimensional array of Strings. When importing the web service model, the following line of code get created in the respective Model class:
logicalPort.generateMetadata(this.getKeywordsAsArray(), this.srcLang, this.getTgtLangAsArray(), ERROR no prop = parameters
Obviously there is a problem with the code generation for the last parameter (the two-dimensional array) which results in this "ERROR no prop = parameters" message.
Does anyone have an idea what I might be doing wrong? Is there a problem with multidimensional arrays in Web Dynpro model classes? I originally wanted to use a HashMap but naturally had to use a simple data type - any other ideas for a workaround?
Cheers,
Tim

Hi,
First, can you check whether you able to access your web service url in browser?
or
you can test your webservice from the NWDI Web service perspective, here you can test your web service is correctly functioning or not before using in your Web Dynpro application.
This document clearly explains How to test the web service url and what is the correct procedure to consume the web service in SAP portal.

• Getting the Error when creating the WSD(Web Service Defination)

Hello,
When I tried to create the WSD(Web Service Defination) through the Wizard or function module I am getting the error "Error during activation" and again it is giving the error "internal error ACTIVATE in WEBSERVICE Wizard;".
What will be the probable cause of this error.
Is I have to change some configuration
Please Suggest.
Thanks

I have the same problem - error returned is
Error during activation
Message no. WS_TOOL085
but no further information is provided
But the Virtual Interface in the package does activate with no problem - so this is WSD specific!
Some help would be appreciated...

Hi,
java.io.IOException: Unable to open connection to host "128.9.125.6:8000". Connection timed out: could be due to invalid address. first check it are you able to connect the WSNavigator. I think you are not able to connect the WSNavigator and are you able to see the WebService in WSNavigator?
Procedure
To import a Web service model, proceed as follows:
1. Choose the context menu entry -
Create Model on the -
Models node of the relevant component.
2. In the model wizard, choose Import Web Service Model followed by Next.
3. In the second wizard window, enter a model name and specify the package and source code directory. The name of the proxy package is created automatically when you specify the model package.
4. Select whether your Web service source is from a local server, is addressed using a URL, or whether it is a UDDI service.
5. If you select Local File System or URL, choosing Next will take you to the following window in which you enter a local WSDL URL or select one by choosing Browse.
6. If you selected the option UDDI or URL, choosing Next will take you to the following wizard window in which you either enter a WSDL URL of a UDDI service directly or select one by choosing UDDIu2026
Enter the WSDL description of the Web service in the Wsdl field u2013 for example, http://webservices.matlus.com/scripts/emailwebservice.dll/wsdl/IemailService for an e-mail service.
You do not need to make any entries in the next step, Proxy Definition / URI Package Mappings. Choose Finish to close the window.
7. Switch to the Package Explorer view, select the file lport1.lp in the directory \src\packages\<myPackage>\, and check the port entries.
Hope this helps!!

• Import web service from service registry into web dynpro

HI, when i import web service into web dynpro model, it asks me to create service group or if i choose no service group configure, it ask me the destionation for metadata and excution. i import service from service registry. what does the service configuration mean? and if i choose no service group, where should i configure the destination?thanks

Hi Lei,
The metadata and execution destinations are relevant for runtime. On runtime you web dynpro application will access the web services you imported via these two destinations.
You can configure the metadata and execution destinations in the following location:
login on the CE system Netweaver Administrator: http://hostname:portnumber/nwa
On NWA navigate to SOA Management --> Technical Configuration --> Destination Template Management.
In this section of NWA you can define the Metadata and Execution destinations for your web services.

• Pulling Data from an imported web service into a data grid - Flex 3.0

Hi all,
I have created a web service from Oracle using JDeveloper and imported it into my Fex 3 project, and I am trying to populate a data grid with the data from the web service. I was trying to emulate the example found in my Adobe Flex 3.0 for Dummies book (see http://dougmccune.com/flexfordummies/chapter14/srcview/index.html), and while the code from the book with that data service works fine, I can't get my application to work. My issue is with the part of code mx:DataGrid dataProvider="(service)" - I do not know how to specify what to use for the data source to populate the data grid from my imported web service. Any suggestions or examples would be helpful, as I am a newcomer to Adobe Flex. My code is as follows:

• Importing Web Service in SAP CPS

Hi everyone,
Build version M33.104.
We are trying to import web services using the WSDL url.
When i use a URL, that doesn't prompt for userid/password, it is possible to import the job definition.
When i use a URL, that prompts for userid/password (when access through browser), the import fails at initial parsing.
I maintained a credential with SOAP protocol and endpoint URL same as the WSDL url.
Still no luck. Please let me know what am i doing wrong?
To make sure i'm not missing any per-requisites:
I do have an empty slot in WebServices.OutboundServer.limitdoes that mean i have to create a process server? is yes how?
Maintain the credentialI have maintained the credential, but how does the import web services job definition know to use that credential. In other words, how does the credential and Import_Web_Service job definition are linked?
Thanks
Nanda

Hi Nanda,
The endpoint s/b the hostname, for example https://hosti23csd01.company.com:50001, could you ask the middleware expert what the valid authentication protocols are ? As Gerben said, we need basic authentication. The "endpoint" is only used to count the outbound web services ... it has little to do with the code.
You can get NTLM/NTLMv2 to work, but that requires external libraries (JCIFS) and it requires you to hack support into the Java code. Means you have import the JCIFS jar file into a library, and write the authentication code yourself in the redwood script job definition.
You do not need a web services process server, web services are supported via RedwoodScript (the Java-like language).
Oh, and the error you are getting is because CPS does not support importing WSDL's for which authentication is required, this is the error you are getting.
Can you download SOAPui and test with that ? If you can get the web service to work in SOAPui, we would need to know the authentication protocol used. Is the remote server running on Windows or UNIX ?
One other thing, you might be able to configure the web service if you go to https://hosti23csd01.company.com:50001/nwa/ssadmin.
You can go to https://hosti23csd01.company.com:50001/wsnavigator to test it.

• Bug in APEX 4.0.2 when parsing web service results?

Receiving ORA-19010: Cannot insert XML fragments error in APEX 4.0.2 when trying to create and run a "Form and Report on Web Service" on any Oracle SES 11.1.2 web service operation
Steps to recreate this error:
SES
- Install Oracle SES 11.1.2
- Create a file source against a directory containing files and then crawl
- Verify via the built-in SES gui that you can search and retrieve results
APEX
- Install APEX 4.0.2
- Create a new database application from scratch
- Create a new web service reference:
shared components ->
web service references ->
create ->
based on wsdl ->
UDDI search: no ->
http://[sesip:port]/search/query/OracleSearch?wsdl ->
create reference
(That creates a web service to Oracle SES with the default name of OracleSearchService)
- Test the new web service:
shared components->
web service references ->
test ->
getAllAttributes (or whatever you want to test) ->
test ->
You will see a valid & correct raw XML request and response
- Create a new web service search form/results using the apex wizard in the following manner:
create page ->
form ->
form and report on web service ->
next ->
web reference type: generated from wsdl ->
next ->
web service reference: OracleSearchService. Operation: getAllAttributes (....BUT YOU CAN PICK ANY OPERATION - THEY ALL WILL FAIL. See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14507_01/apirefs.1112/e14433/oracle/search/query/webservice/client/OracleSearchService.html for documentation for all the SES web service operations).
next ->
next ->
result tree to report on: Attributes (or whatever appropriate for the operation you chose) ->
next ->
select all columns to display ->
finish
- Now run the page, entering nothing or "en" for locale (or whatever is appropriate for the operation you chose) and then Submit
- No matter what operation is chosen, no matter what parameters are entered, always receive "ORA-19010: Cannot insert XML fragments" error!
PS - We can (and have) created and used APEX 3.1.2.00.02 against SES 10.1.8.3.0's web services without issue.

Damir,
I've tried to replicate this on apex.oracle.com, and could not. I sent a JPG file to my Yahoo account using the name 'Report (2011.05.01).jpg', and didn't encounter any issues. The name of the file received on Yahoo was still 'Report (2011.05.01).jpg'.
I reviewed the code in APEX_MAIL. There isn't anything in there that would modify the filename as you suggest.
Is there a chance it's being changed in your SMTP server / relay?

• Error when consuming Web Service in SAP R/3 ECC 6.0

Hi to everyone.
I have created an asynchronous Web Service in SAP R3, which I want to use in SAP PI later.
When I test the Web Service using WS Navigator or XMLSpy the following error occurs:
SOAP Runtime Protocol: ABAP Runtime exception: 1F09B73915F6B645E10000000A11447B occurred in program CL_SOAP_APPLICATION_PROXY=====CP CP in include CL_SOAP APPLICATIONPROXY=====CM008 at position 110
SOAP Runtime Protocol: Exception message: An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
I tested another synchronous Web Service developed by me in the same system, and the error does not occurs.
I just searched an OSS Note and does not find anything.
There are some restrictions in Web Service type developed in SAP R/3?
Thanks in advance.
Rafael Rojas.

Hi.
I think I must clarify my question.
The Web Service is not called inside SAP R/3 but externally. For testing pourpose I actually use WS Navigator and XMLSpy.
The method inside ABAP Server Proxy which is exposed as a Web Server in SAP R/3 system is the following. Note that the Web Service is Asynchronous.
METHOD zpi_ii_test_ws_4_in~test_ws_4_in.
DATA: lwa_zpi_test TYPE zpi_test.
lwa_zpi_test-mandt = input-mt_test-record-client.
lwa_zpi_test-bukrs = input-mt_test-record-company.
lwa_zpi_test-belnr = input-mt_test-record-document.
lwa_zpi_test-gjahr = input-mt_test-record-year.
INSERT zpi_test FROM lwa_zpi_test.
COMMIT WORK.
ENDMETHOD.
I have created another Web Service in SAP R/3 which is Synchronous, and the error does not occurs. The following is the method inside ABAP Server Proxy which is exposed as a Web Service in SAP R/3 system.
METHOD zpi_ii_test_ws_3_in~test_ws_3_in.
DATA: l_bukrs      TYPE bukrs,
l_belnr      TYPE belnr_d,
l_gjahr      TYPE gjahr,
lr_belnr     TYPE RANGE OF belnr_d,
lwa_zpi_test TYPE zpi_test.
l_bukrs = input-mt_req-msg+0(4).
l_gjahr = input-mt_req-msg+4(4).
SELECT MAX( belnr ) INTO l_belnr
FROM zpi_test
WHERE bukrs EQ l_bukrs
AND belnr IN lr_belnr
AND gjahr EQ l_gjahr.
IF l_belnr IS INITIAL.
l_belnr = '4700000000'.
ELSE.
l_belnr = l_belnr + 1.
ENDIF.

• Error When Calling Web Service

I have Oracle9i JDeveloper Release 2 (Version 9.0.2.829) installed along with embedded OC4J server. I followed tutorial of "Creating and Using Web Service" and failed when I tried to run DateTimeClient that calls the web service. The error message (see below) is very similar to the ones that some people have encountered in creating SOAP connection I have seen quite a few questions/answers from the Forums. I need to mention that I did test the OC4J server and SOAP server before I ran the DateTimeClient using
(1)     http://127.0.0.1:8888/
(2)     http://127.0.0.1:8888/soap/servlet/soaprouter
and they all get expected information back.
The error message is as follows:
[SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Protocol; msg=Unsupported response content type "text/html", must be: "text/xml". Response was:
<DIV class=Section1>

if this problem persists, and provide the team your
account information.</P>

Your solution/feedback regarding this problem is very much appreciated.

After I read the notes written by Michael Lehmann (Title: How can I setup a soap server for use in JDeveloper 9i), I realized I need to turn off the proxy from JDeveloper. After that everything works.
Thank you, Michael!

• How to use generated code from "Import Web Services" with Cairngorm Framework

I recently downloaded Flex Builder 3 beta 2 and tried out the
wizard that lets you import web services. The code that is
auto-generated makes if fairly straight forward to consume web
services using the object types defined in the WSDL. No longer does
the developer need to decode the XML payload! The only problem I am
having is how does you integrate the auto- generated code with the
Cairngorm framework? This seems like a huge question for anyone who
might want to leverage Cairngorm and the auto-generated proxy code
in the same project (like me).
Here are the problems that I see so far.
1) How do you configure the generated service class to work
with the Cairngorm service locator? The service constructor only
accepts a “LCDS destination string” which implies that
you must use Lifecycle data services. Unfortunately, the project I
am trying to retrofit currently uses a WebService and does not use
data services. All I really need to do is change the endpoint URL
(ie from local to a development server). This issue is noted in the
bug https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-8456. What I think is
needed is a way to set the endpointURI in the Services.mxml file.
2) Even if I come up with a hack around #1, I do not receive
a callback to my IResponder even though I register it immediately
after the method call. I can register and listener function within
my business delegate and receive the callback, but my Command
object, which implements IResponder, does not receive the call back
even though it is registered. From what I read in the ASDocs it
should but it doesn’t for me!
These are the issues I have observed in 3 hours of messing
with this. I hope this makes sense. I would love to integrate
auto-generated web service proxies into Cairngorm but I don’t
see a straight forward way without re-architecting Cairngorm. Has
any one else run across this issue? If so, do you have any insights
on how to proceed? Any help is appreciated.

Since I posted this question, I have abandoned the notion of
auto-generated web services and embraced the good old FDS concept
where the RemoteObject meta-tag does all the conversion work for
me. We are now using the Granite DS package and it is working well
for us. I would love to consume web services, but it just isn't
worth the hassle when all you have to do with Granite (and FDS) is
cast your return objects to the proper object type.
BTW, since this posting, I have investigated competing Flex
app frameworks. After my research, I checked out the PureMVC
framework. Wow!! Cairngorm always left me with an uneasy feeling
and I guess I am not alone. Apparently, Cliff Hall felt the same
way. That is why he started the project. I like his approach alot
more than Cairngorm especially since it includes notifications
which allow me to broadcast my own app level events independent
from the AS Event framework. Check out PureMVC. For what it is
worth, it has my humble endorsement. Cliff was even gracious enough
to acknowledge the other Adobe Consulting guys for their work. Good
for you Cliff, I respect that. Check out a better way at
http://www.puremvc.org/
