Nobody can hear me on a outgoing call

cant find anything on the net to answer this so hoping you guys can help
ive got the latest updates for my 16 gig phone
but since saturday people cant hear me in a call, i can hear them perfect
my music plays and i can hear all noises on the phone expect people cant hear me
any ideas?

I've still got the problem. I've spoken to Apple who suggested doing a restore as new iPhone, but that hasn't made any difference. I discovered today that it works fine on handsfree (using the bundled headphones), and as I said before when on speakerphone, but nothing when used as a normal phone (i.e. I can hear people but they can't hear me). I am going to give Apple another call in the morning - the original poster of this thread has successfully arranged a collect for repair judging by this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1802738&tstart=60

Disregard the post from rossfromdallas. It's spam. As long as you didn't do something to damage the phone, whatever is wrong should be covered under warranty. Take it back to where you got it or make an appointment at your nearest Apple Store.
But just in case....did you take off the plastic that covers the screen that the iPhone ships with?

Nobody can hear when i call

I Got my iphone 3g yesterday and loving it so far.
But when i try to call someone they cant seem to hear me at all.
They can only hear me when i press the speaker icon, so what am i doing wrong ?
Same goes with my earphone nobody can hear me..

Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

things to try
- make sure you case doesnt cover your mic
-reset the phone
- back up your phone to itunes
-then restore as new and try out a call when you have nothing on it
-if that doesnt work then it needs to be replaced

Nobody can hear me on my GS5

Nobody can hear me on my Samsung Galaxy S5 unless I place them on speakerphone but I can hear everyone just fine. Has anybody had a similar issue? I'd love to resolve it without getting a replacement phone if possible.

Do you have advanced calling (VoLTE) enabled? If so, try disabling that.
For a time, turning off Bluetooth seemed to help for me, but it was only temporary - the problem returned.
Using speakerphone or headphones worked, as did bluetooth in the car.

HT4515 Just tried to place a call on my new iPhone5S. I can hear the person I'm calling, they cannot hear me. The microphone icon has a line through it, but tapping the icon does not make a difference.

is your mute switch turned on (above the volume) ? remove case and screen protecter.

IOS 4.3.3 has crippled my iPhone4...No one can hear me on all voice calls.

I updated to 4.3.3 the day it came out. Well at 5:00pm today all of the sudden no one can hear me with all voice calls. I have tried: power cycling, hard resets, backup and restore, and a full factory restore. Nothing is working! This is not hardware failure because I can still record voice memos...What do I do?

So I should have come back on here sooner and told everyone how I got this fixed...sorry. I ended up going to At&t and the rep made a few test calls (from a cell and landline) and neither worked. He told me to take it to an apple store. The apple rep had my phone for about an hour running tests and then finally told me no one knew the problem so they replaced my phone. My replacement phone came loaded with 4.3.2 and I was reluctant to load 4.3.3 because I didn't want to run into the same issue again, however, I did eventually upgrade to 4.3.3 and have not had an issue since.
My recommendation is to go through the standard troubleshooting steps (hard reset, wipe the handset back to factory, restore, etc...) if that does not work then take it to Apple. I do not have the extended warranty, but I was within my one year of having the phone (it was in near perfect condition) and they replaced it no questions asked.
***a note for my original post. It was not a HW failure...my microphone would still record voice memos and I could record sound while taking a video***

I would backup the device in iTunes. Then attempt a Restore, followed by setting the iPhone up as a new device. Make sure you rename your iPhone something different as to not overwrite the existing backup you made. Doing this will not bring any of your information back onto the device, but will give you the opportunity to test the device with a new operating system installed on it. If the problem persist after the restore (set up as a new device) then the problem lies in the hardware. If the problem does not persist, then you will need to avoid restoring the device from your backup, as the problem lies in a corrupted operating system. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, my iPhone 4s has started to play up! When I make or receive a call I can hear fine but the person on the other end can't hear a thing! I have done all the obvious things like make sure mute is not pressed and about a month ago I did a system restore to cure a battery charge problem ( did not solve but I am persevering). Any ideas???

User troubleshooting is restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Since calling is a carrier function, you can check with them about your account. If all of that is good, then contact Apple or your Authorized Apple Service Provider to have the hardware checked.

I bought Lenovo U350 and since day 1, I am having this problem. When I start PC to PC voice call on Yahoo, Skype or Gtalk, I can hear other person for initial few mins. Then system makes a typical sound and I can't hear other person. I can see speaker showing some activity but i can't hear anything. Then I have to put the call on HOLD and then UNHOLD it to hear. Then it continues for few more mins and sound goes off. Then I have repeat it again and again. All other sound works fine. I can watch movies, youtube videos and hear mp3 songs.
I have tried -
a) Reinstalling sound drivers
b) Reinstalling all the messengers
c) Using headsets instead of using laptop speakers.

Your microphone maybe malfunctioning . Try reset the ipad

hey i had the same problem, look and i fixed it just slightly tighten the 2 screws on the bottom of the phone with the tip of the knife or a small screw driver!! and now my phone works perfectly

I took the phone into the Apple store and they said it was an AT&T problem and that I needed to have the SIM card replaced. I did that and still had the problem. So I went back to the Apple store. The pretencious 'genious' said that one of the moisture sensors had been tripped and that was why my microphone wasn't working on calls. The phone has never been exposed to moisture that I'm aware of.
He said dictation apps use another microphone on top of the phone. He didn't have an answer as to why the problem only happened sporatically. In any case, he eventually gave me a replacement phone.

Hi there, for about a week now every time somebody calls my phone they cannot hear me. I can hear them. I have tried speakerphone with no success as well as blue tooth without success. May I have you verify that bluetooth & wifi is turned off on the device. After that do a battery pull & update your prl by dialing *228 send & select option 2. Once completed, please retry the audio issue with a test call. If problem still persist, then I would recommend doing a factory reset on the device. This can be done by the following steps below.
From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch Privacy
Touch Factory Data reset
Touch Reset Phone
