NoClassDefFoundError Exception when i run my applet in IE 5.5
hi,
i have written an applet which work witn UTF-8 files. i compile it with jdk 1.4 and i can run it with JRE2 but it doesn't start in computers with IE 5.5 with it's default JRE.
i want to use it in a website so how can i change it or what can i do to make it work in any java enable browser.
Regards !.
i have written an applet which work witn UTF-8 files.No problem. Your applet uses UTF-8 encoding.
i compile it with jdk 1.4 and i can run it with JRE2The applet is JDK 1.4 compiled.
but it doesn't start in computers with IE 5.5 with
it's default JRE.What is default JRE? The latest browsers don't have the java capability themselves. Rather they have a plug-in with your system's JRE. Do you mean 'default JRE' as this one? If yes, you should not have any problem. If yes, and you still have problem, check the settings in your browser. Enable Applets to run.

MessageBox.Show(DocStats.Name + " " + DocStats.Value);
When I copy paste a document and click on the button it raises a COM exception but if I click continue and click on the button again, the correct grade level score is displayed.Cant figure out why this is happening.Thanks for the answer Eugene, this exception never shows up if I type something and click on the rgl button , but if i open a huge document that is already in Canadian english and click on this ribbon it gives me the following exception

Connect Exception when I run multiple client processes
hi All,
I run a web logic RMI server on my machine and bind an object. When i try
to run about 40 multiple clients (each client is a java process) i am refused
connection. Why???wrong url, apparently.
open the admin console and see that the url from your deployment is. try entering that into the browser instead of what you used to get the 404.
also, check the logs.

Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError exception when accessing BDB container using WAS
Dear Techies,
I installed BDB 2.5.16 on a Solaris 10 machine using the below build arguments.
bash ./buildall.sh -c gcc -x g++ --with-configure-env="CFLAGS='-mcpu=v9' CXXFLAGS='-mcpu=v9' LDFLAGS='-mcpu=v9 -L$PWD/install/lib'" --enable-java --prefix=<installation target path>
I am able to create BDB container and access it from a standalone java class. But, when I try to achieve the same using application deployed on WebSphere (WAS 7.0.0.23 ND 64 bit), it throws me the below error:

I am not sure what the problem is, and what to do next. Is it a 32-bit JVM vs 64-bit JVM (on WAS) issue? Can someone kindly help?
This is my first application with BDB. Kindly bear if I sound too basic.
Thanks & Regards
AmitHello, the missing class is in reposimpl.jar. In fact you need to add a lot of jars to publicapi.jar. Publicapi.jar is simply a public entry point to the common library used by other components (the GUI, OMBPlus,etc). I suggest you browse the scripts OWB_HOME/owb/bin/unix/setowbenv.sh or OWB_HOME/owb/bin/win32/setowbenv.bat depending on you OS, and start with the content of the OMBCLASSPATH variable.
Make sure you have corrected the problem with JCE libraries, as mentioned in thread OWB client not working
pubapi_javadoc.jar contains the docs, but if you've reached this far I suppose you already have it.
Good work, Antonio -

I have seen your two posts and there are something you need to notice:
Where the ClassNotFound exception you got? From deployment tool or
application server kjs process?
Of course, you need not to add supporting classes to each ejb jars or ears.
1. If you use deployment tool to package your application, I'm sure you'll
fail to resovle your classes without supporting classes added to jars.
Please select Edit->Preference,in Classpath entry, enter the supporting
classes(packaged to jar files) location. This should work.
2. After deploy to ias, please edit the registry using kregedit which you
described in your posts.

Johnson

When I deploy EJBs to the iPlanet app server I find that I need to include
all supporting classes in each ejb jar file. According to the
Administrator's manual I should be able to modify the kjs classpath bydoing
the following:
On Windows
a.. Open iPlanet Registry Editor.
(See About iPlanet Registry Editor)
b.. Open the following key:
SOFTWARE\iPlanet\Application Server\6.0\Java\
c.. Modify the class path and restart the server for the change to take
effect.
However, when I add my supporting classes to a jar in this directory Istill
get a class not found exception when I run the deployment tool.
Adding the classes to each EJB jar is redundant and introduces lots of
problems. How should I configure iPlanet so I only need to put my
supporting classes in one place?
Thanks,

How do I run an applet in full size of browser window?
When I run an applet in the browser, I have to specify the width and height for the applet. How do I tell the applet to use the full size of browser window?
Does anybody have experience on it?
Thanks!Guys,
I have found a solution already. The key is to specify percentage in width and height value. For example, width="100%" height="100%". There you go!

Why can't I run the applet in jdev2.0?
sir:
After I installed the jdev2.0 beta,I create a applet through
wizard,but when I run the applet ,I always occured such error:
"createprocess failed for appletviewer windows nt error #5" ,and
I run the applet in the IE4.0,get the other error:"applet can't
instantialed",why ,please help me!
nullThis problem has already been encountered by others.
So, I will simply paste the answer.
Windows NT error #5 is ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED. I'd suggest you look
at who ownership and protection of the exes and dlls in your
installation of jdeveloper.
You saved my life!
I have no idea, what happened with my NT setup, I did a normal
setup, there is only one user for the NT, with admin rights.
Anyhow, I'm not an NT expert and it seemed to be quite
difficult to find the offending files with wrong permissions.
So I took the lazy solution, selected JDev home directory and
changed the permission of all files and all subdirectories to
"full control for Everyone". That cured the error.gang lee (guest) wrote:

Need aid on running edited applet
Hi, I have downloaded an applet and am supposed to edit it but I have several problems. I couldn't run the edited applet after I compiled it.
I edited only a public void paint(Graphics g) statement in the Java file : Simple.java
from :
g.drawString("A Simple Applet is running here...", 100, 100);
to :
g.drawString("Everything is ok...", 100, 100);
I never changed anything in the HTML file that allows me to view the applet.

The demo.jar file is not moved anywhere. It is still in the same directory as the HTML file.
Yet, I recieved this error, When I run my applet using the appletviewer :

I would like assistance in this dilemma. Thank you.You are sure that the applet ran under the appletviewer before the edits?

NoClassDefFoundError when trying to run an applet
Hi,
I'm new to java and am having a problem when I try to run an applet. It compiles OK, but when I try to run it using the appletviewer the console window shows this message:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HelloApplet (wrong name: fund2/lesson1/HelloApplet)
The last bit (fund2/lesson1) is the last bit of the path to the HelloApplet.
and the applet window shows:
Start: applet not initialized
The code for the applet is:
import java.applet.Applet;
import java.awt.*;
public class HelloApplet extends Applet {
public void paint(Graphics graArg) {
graArg.drawString("Hello World!", 50, 100);
}The code for the html is:
<html>
<h1>Hello Applet Example</h1>
<object code="HelloApplet.class"
height=200
width=300>
</object>
</html>Not even the H1 title appears in the applet window.
The Classpath variable does contain the path to my applet folder and both the class and html files are in the same folder under this path.
I hope someone can suggest where I'm going wrong as I've been tearing my hair out trying to get this working.
Thanks in anticipation.
Debbie-LeighThe H1 tag wouldn't appear in the applet anyway. It would appear in the HTML page itself. I think the appletviewer may ignore all non-applet markup though.
The ".class" shouldn't be in the HTML. The code attribute refers to a class name, not the file name of the class. However I get the impression that the appletviewer and a lot of browsers just ignore the ".class", even though it's technically incorrect.
I believe that the object tag doesn't take a code attribute. The code attribute is used in the applet tag. I suspect that's your problem. Look up and read the docs on this site re: proper use of the applet or object or embed or whatever the hell the tag you're supposed to use is, for details. I may be and probably am misremembering. -

No such element exception when applet window closed
My applet can throw a NoSuchElementException as it closes during sudden death. The Java Console reports:
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-2" java.util.NoSuchElementException
at java.util.LinkedList.getFirst(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.SequencedEvent.getFirst(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.SequencedEvent.dispatch(Unknown Source)

at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.pumpEvents(Unknown Source)
at java.awt.EventDispatchThread.run(Unknown Source)Sometimes that sequence displays once, sometimes twice. The error appears to be 90% or more repeatable.
1) open link in new window http://r0k.us/graphics/SIHwheel.html
2) view Color Log (menu item Help -=> Show Log)
3) close the whole browser window
It does not appear to happen without the dialog for the Color Log displayed. Nor does it appear to happen simply upon leaving that page. I'm guessing it is some sort of race condition as the applet is shut down and it doesn't have the surrounding window it started with. It only happens when running as an applet. When ran as a program, it always shuts down cleanly.
It occurs less often if you:
1) open the link in new window
2) leave the page
) come back to it while the Java Console is still alive (before JVM goes away)
3) view the Color Log
4) close the browser window.
I am running 64-bit Windows 7, and have observed this problem in Firefox, IE, and Chrome.
With no hints as to where within my code this is occurring (if indeed it is within "my" code), I have no idea how to write an SSCCE. The exception seems to relate to enumerations, which I believe must be occuring during the shut down seqence. See:
* http://download.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/java/util/NoSuchElementException.html
What can I try doing to prevent the error from occurring? (Besides not closing the browser window while my applet is running and has a dialog open. ;) )
*(added immediately before posting)* I just noticed that if any of the first three dialogs in the Help Menu are open, this behavior can occur. So it probably has nothing to do with the tables in the Color Log. The fourth, About, item is a simpler modal dialog, and you aren't even able to close the browser window while it is open.
Now that I know the crash can happen with any of the non-modal dialogs, I will write an SSCCE, just to see if it occurs in a much simpler applet, if nothing else.As promised, an SSCCE with build instructions and an applet environment.

what can i do? thank very muchHello,
i have compile and run my program. First time theprogram can run.
But after that when i run, come out error messegeas below:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: FormPoster (wrongname: search/FormPoster)
Check your FormPoster class: the classname has to be
the same as
the file name and the class should be stored in its
correct directory
(the sub directory structure should reflect the
package name).
kind regards,
JosYou should also check your clsspath if you are using packages. -
Need help. I am running a 27 in imac with 16 gigs of ram. Photoshop runs really fast, except when opening files. It takes 5-10 minutes to open even a small file of 1 meg. I cleaned and validated all the fonts and removed all questionable fonts. Reset preferences and still have problem. Slow to open and in force quit "Photoshop not responding" At this point should I uninstall and start over.
What are the performance Preferences?
