Nokia e63 save email attachment as text file

When I receive email with text document attached and select save, it is always saved in office notes. While this is probably a reasonable thing to do, the problem is that I cannot find the saved file using file manager. So this text document becomes unavailable for other installed programs. Answers to following questions would help mightily:
1. How to save email attachment to specified folder (any attachment)?
2. How to save note from Menu->Office->Notes to some specified folder?
3. Where Menu->Office->Notes stores the notes? (Active Notes stores them in folder called ActiveNotes in root folder)
4. Is it possible to remove this program, since its features are completely covered by Active notes?

The email client saves attachments to the folder Others if you choose 'save' from the menu. Notes cannot be individually accessed, they're a some kind of database hidden deep into your phone. To save your note to some folder the only thing you can do is copy and paste it to Quick Office and save it from there.
You can't remove the Notes program. I've moved all my notes to Active Notes and use the memory card to store them. As you said, Active Notes does all that Notes does, and more. Notes just starts up a few milliseconds faster

• Removing extra spaces from email attachment of text file

Hi All,
I am having a question in opening email attachment file in text mode.
Whenever I am trying to open a CSV file in text mode after each row it adds blank spaces. These blank spaces are to complete the 255 characters on each row I guess.
My client doesn't want these space. So can anybody tell how to remove those spaces?
<removed by moderator> response would be helpful.
Thanks and Regards
Nishad

Hi,
There is no solution for this as u know that the data which you r sending in csv its actually getting populated from an internal table.
You cannot make your internel table dynamic for this requirment.
It should have a fixed length. Now if the data is less then also the length.
So u have identified correct that because of 255 the blank space is population, nothing is in your hand.
U have to convince the client, to make them understand where is the limitation.
Thanks & Regards

• Email attachment for text file using ABAP with funny format output

Hi All,
I am developing an ABAP program to generate an email to an external email address by using Function Module FUNCTION 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1. There is an attachment included in this program. The attachment is generated by reading through a data file from an Application Server and place it in the internal table before attaching it to the function module.
Currently when I download the data file through SO01, I found that the data file looks a bit funny as below. It seems that all the letters are separated with an additional space in between.
Funny Output:
A B C D  1 2 3  A B C
Suppose Output:
ABCD 123 ABC
I am not too sure if there is any output format that I need to set in order to make it works?

hi Sree Ram,
Thanks for your quick reply. The following is my code. I am not too sure if your reply will help to change the format of my data file or attachment sent through email.

• How to attach a text file as an attachment to email message?

Hello Everybody,
I have a .csv file, in which details about emp-id, emp-name, e-expenses for Reimbursement and email address are stored.
My application reads this .csv file, and sends a mail to each employee with his id, salary details in text format. (by changing content type to "text/plain") The code is working fine. But,
My problem is:
The message is sent as message body to the end user.
The end user / the person who receives this mail will not be a technical person. So,
1) If he trys to take a print out of this e-mail, He get only half of it.(as no. of colums will be more than paper size).
2) I am finding alignment problem. IF employee name is too big, other columns will shift to right and data will not be exactly under column header. (it is going in zig zag way)
So, I thought sending text file with all the details as an attachment might do well.
But, I don't know how to attach a text file to email-message body.
code
try
{               String s1="";

• Attaching a text file

Hello,
I have wiritten a GUI which allows a user to enter in a message in a text field called "field1", a process button is pressed by the user and the message is processed by my algorithm. The output is then displayed in another text field called "field2". This works fine,
I would like to develop this GUI a bit further and this the problem. Instead of the user typing in the text in "field1" I would like to provide the functionality where the user can attach a text file which is then processed by my algorithm. I have made an attach button on my GUI for this purpose. The problem im having is, how to attach the file to the "field1" text field which will then be processed by the algorithm. I have included the event handler part for the attach button.
Thanks
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
if (e.getSource() == attachbutton)
// I would like to attach a text file to this field ready to be processed by the algorithm
}

• How can I save an email as a text file before deleting from it my inbox?

Some emails I want to save to my computer so that i can view them without opening up my email. I used to be able to do this by saving to a documents folder as a text file. (Outlook express). I do not find this capablity in Thunderbird. if it is there, I have not found it.

'''File|Save As''' gives you several options. By default it will save as a .eml file, which will need an email client to view. You can usually save by drag-and-drop, but that creates an .eml file too.
You can save as HTML by putting in an html file extension when doing File|Save As.
This add-on:
https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html
gives you multiple options for saving one or more messages in various formats.

• Email a regular text file from another mac?

Hi guys,
I'd like to start working on a small project which will make life a little easier for me.
I need to send myself a text file once a week from my work computer (iMac 10.6.2) - outside of working hours (around 6pm on a Friday - every Friday).
I've been looking around for the best way to do this, and have in the past had a small amount of success with AppleScript. Though I understand a better way may be to use a Cron or Launchd for the job.
I'll need it to be reliable, and "if possible" email me the file even if someone logs me out of the work iMac (???).
I'd appreciate some input as to where I start with this project!
Thanks in advance.

This may work, assuming that the file you want to get is just a plain text file. copy the following into a plain text editor (be careful not to save it in rich text or any styled text format; has to be plain text).
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>AbandonProcessGroup</key>
<true/>
<key>Disabled</key>
<false/>
<key>Label</key>
<string>my.sendMeMail</string>
<key>ProgramArguments</key>
<array>
<string>mail</string>
<string>-s</string>
<string>Mail from work</string>
<string>[email protected]</string>
<string><</string>
<string>/path/to/file</string>
</array>
<key>StartCalendarInterval</key>
<array>
<dict>
<key>Weekday</key>
<integer>5</integer>
<key>Hour</key>
<integer>18</integer>
<key>Minute</key>
<integer>0</integer>
</dict>
</array>
</dict>
</plist>
Edit it to have your email and the path to your file, save it as my.sendMeMail.plist (or something) in /Library/LaunchDaemons, and hen run the following command in terminal: {color:blue}launchctl load /Library/Launchdaemons/my.sendMeMail.plist{color}. (if you want to remove the job, incidentally, take the plist out of the LaunchDaemons folder, and run {color:blue}launchctl remove my.sendMeMail{color} in terminal).
this should send you an email every friday at 6:00 which has the text of the file as the body of the email. it's not an attachment if you need an attachment (say because your file isn't a text file) then you'll need to do something more complex in terminal, like uuencoding the file or building a mime message. You'll also need to make sure that the file permissions are such that the system can access and read the file.
If you could be sure your account was active you could script apple mail, but if someone else is logged in, that won't work

• How to make the Open/Save dialogue download the text file instead of JSP

I am currently coding on a JSP program, which searches the database and writes the resultset into a file on the server, and then allows the client to download this tab delimited text file onto their local machine. But I met a problem, when the default Open or Save dialogue appears, it shows that it's trying to download the running JSP file from my local host instead of the newly-created text file. Despite this, when I click OK to either Open or Save the file, a warning dialogue will appear saying: The explorer cann't download this file, it's unable to find this internet site or something like that. I get no error message from the server but I was always told that Javax.servlet.ServletException: getWriter() was already called. What does this mean?
I guess maybe this is caused by the mix use of outputStreams in my program. I don't know if there is a way to directly read the resultset from the database and then send it through outputStream to the client. My solution is: first create a file on the server to hold the resultset, and then output this file to the client. I did all these in one JSP program: Create file on the server, search database, and then read file and output the contents to client. Is this correct? I attached my code, please feel free to correct any of my mistake? Thanks!

Thanks. I believe something wrong with this statement
in my program:
You are correct there is something wrong with this statement. Seeing how you are doing this in a jsp, not really what they're made for but thats another topic, the output stream has already been called. When a jsp gets compiled it creates a few implicit objects, one of them being the outputstream out, and it does this by calling the response.getWriter(). getWriter or getOutputStream can only be called once, other wise you will get the exception you are experiencing. This is for both methods as well, seeing how the jsp compiles and calls getWriter means that you cannot call getOutputStream. Calling one makes the other throw the exception if called as well. As far as the filename problem in the browser goes I'm guessing that it's in IE. I've had some problems before when I had to send files to the browser through a servlet and remember having to set an inline attribute of some sort in the content-dis header inorder to get IE to see the real filename. The best way to solve this is to get the orielly file package and use that. It is very easy to use and understand and does all of this for you already. Plus it's free. Cant beat that.
ServletOutputStream outs =
response.getOutputStream();
because I put a lot of printout statement within my
code, and the program stops to print out exactly
before the above statement. And then I get the
following message, which repeats several times:
ServletExec: caught exception -
javax.servlet.ServletException: getWriter() was
already called.

• Can no longer save email messages to my files

Before upgrading to Mavericks, I could open an email message from a client, click Save As, select a folder, then save the message as a text file to the appropriate folder on my hard drive. It seems I can no longer do that. I always get a Mail error message saying "Names longer than 31 characters are not supported on the destination volume."(Even when the name is already shorter than that, I go through the exercise of shortening it.) After doing that, I click Save. Then I get an error saying "Error: Could not save to path...." which, incidentally, goes haywire part of the way through and takes it down a path that is a completely wrong folder for another client. Regardless, it doesn't save.
I've tried completely renaming the file. I've tried everything I can think of.
This used to be SO SIMPLE: Just click Save As, select the appropriate folder, then click Save.
In Mavericks, do I need to convert this email message into a Word document in order to save it to a folder?

Please follow these directions to delete the Mail "sandbox" folders. In OS X 10.9 there are two sandboxes, while in 10.8 there is only one. If you're running a version older than 10.8, this comment isn't applicable.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a folder named "com.apple.mail" selected. If it does, move the selected folder—not just its contents—to the Desktop. Leave the Finder window open for now.
Log out and log back in. Launch Mail and test. If the problem is resolved, you may have to recreate some of your Mail settings. You can then delete the folder you moved and close the Finder window.
This action will delete any custom Mail stationery that you have created. If you want to preserve it, ask for instructions.
If you still have the problem, quit Mail again and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place. Repeat with this line:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.MailServiceAgent
Caution: If you change any of the contents of the sandbox, but leave the folder itself in place, Mail may crash or not launch at all. Deleting the whole sandbox will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Just copy the code below and execute . I just checked and found the exact values on attachment with no blank lines. This is more simple than the one u have written , just include ur data upload logic . For ITAB values to be attached i have written a simple logic to retrive from EKPO. Just copy this code and execute. u will understand then.
I understand that ur initial requirement was to attach the file directly and not to upload and attach. If u still want to go for the old requirement then check out the code(2nd program of the two that i have sent) that i have sent u on ur previous post.

• Email a created text file by the click of a button

Hi
What I am trying to do it that: In the Front Panels, All the data is collected via String Control and other Control, then when a press saved, a text file is created and stored in the path that I specified.
It is possible in LabView to using a Button called 'Email Created File' to then e-mail that file as an attachment.
What VIs or example does such a thing?
P.S. I'm deploying it to a PDA.
Cheers

• Can't send audio messages from Nokia E63 to email ...

I used to send audio messages from my mobile to my friend's email, and it worked fine.
But some days ago it stopped working. I keep on seeing this whenever I try to send audio message.
"In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use). Do you want to continue ?"
When I disconnected connection, it fails to send again. I saw this message:
"Multimedia message cannot be sent. Packet data connection not available"
It is impossible for me to send the audio message if I close the connection because I'm not having internet in my phone.
I have been using packet data connection to send all the messages to email all the time and it went OK. I got that problem just a few days ago and I cannot send any audio messages now.
I can still send normal emails (non-audio message) from my phone through packet data connection though.
The problem is only when sending the audio message.
I'm using Nokia E63 and I'm in the UAE.
My mobile provider is "Du".
I use packet data connection from "MyWorld"
I don't have any other packet data connections. I had many but now, MyWorld is the only one in my phone.
Please help me how can I do it.

Automatic configuration.
Your mobile will be automatically configured to access the MyWorld mobile portal when you first join du.
You will receive an SMS message, which you should accept and save.
You can also request for these settings by sending the following SMS message “du” to 333 or by calling Customer Care on 155.
Availability of the MyWorld mobile portal and of the relevant settings is dependent on your handset type.
For more information on MyWorld, call 155 from your mobile or visit us at www.du.ae
This might do the trick.

• Save tree structure to text file and load textfile to another tree control

I'm able to save the structure and data to a text file, thanks to the "save tree structure to textfile" info found on this msg board, but can't seem to load the complete tree structure data from the text file into another tree. I've only been able to load parent data but can't get the hierarchy of the tree with the indents and child data to work.
Thanks

Thanks Tanya,
However, I'm still stumped on how to copy (from text file) to other columns in the tree (from one tree to another). I can only get the first column to load.
I've attached my working VI and a textfile that I use to load into the "User list" tree.

• How to save input from a text file in to array

I got this assignment, and almost have no clue, and my teacher doesn't even teaches us anything
This is what i am suppose to do
5. The program must store the following data about each student in this Talent Show:
* The student's name (store as a String)
* The student's average time score [only for the events they competed in] (store as a Double)
Note: Some of the data comes directly from the text file, and some of the data must be calculated from the data that is read from the file.
6. The program must search through all of the student's scores to find the student who has the minumum average time of all students.
7. You must calculate how many events each student played. Zero values are not counted.
8. You must then generate a report on the screen that prints out
* the total number of students in the competition,
* the winning student's ...
o name
o times
o average time (rounded to one decimal places)

It is after all your responsibility and complaining won't help you any.

• Save a report (or text file) in pdf format?

Hi,
I like to save a kind of log file in a non changeable format like pdf.
I'm using the DSC module under LabVIEW are there some possibilities?
Or is there a chance to save text file into a postscript file?
Thanks for help,
martin

Hallo Martin,
to be able to write to a PDF file you need some extra software that is able to create those files.
Most of those programs are installing themselves as printer drivers, so if you want to wrate a table into a pdf file you will have to create a report and print it. LabVIEW insrtalls a couple of exaples regarding report generation, online I found an example for "printing" the frontpanel screen into a PDF.
