Nokia E63 text recovery without SIM?

Hi,
Can texts be recovered from a Nokia E63 if the texts are deleted and the SIM card has been removed? Not sure if the original texts were saved to the SIM card or the phone itself, what is the default setting?

In theory, with the right skills and tools, until the data has been overwritten. In practice, it is very unlikely that a regular user or even a normal developer can do it.

That doesn't lock the SIM card, it just locks you out of the device.
If you forgot (or don't know) your passcode, restore the device from backup on the last computer it was synced with when the passcode was turned on... this will remove the passcode. If you do not have access to the last computer it was synced with, you will have to force it into recovery mode & restore as a new device.

Are you looking for the serial number or the IMEI? If the phone was active on your Verizon acount, Verizon can give you the IMEI.

Help with Nokia E63 says SIM card not valid after ...

I moved to France from UK and just unlocked my Nokia E63 with a code given to me by my UK provider Virgin. Phone is definately unlocked. My French provider (Lefrenchmobile) have given me a new sim. When I put in the SIM and turn on my phone I have to enter the SIM PIN, and do this and get an accepted message. Then phone says SIM card not valid, and won't do anything. What can I do? If I put my virgin SIM back in then it works fine.

Have you double checked if your phone is compatible with the new operator's network? Just simply tell the model to their customer services, they should be able to determine the compatibility.

Nokia 2760 - sends SMS (no text included) without ...

Hi all,
I have a Nokia 2760 and it sends quite often SMS (no text included) without any interaction from me to somebody from my contact list. Who has the same behaviour? How can I fix that? Is another firmware available? If yes, where can I download and how can I install the software?

so your phone sends a message to somebody elses phone thats in your contact list and ,what is the issue with who has same behaviour?
does there phone do the same thing?
check your message settings ,look in message settings and tell me whats there.

Need help: Nokia E63 - Putting "Draft" messages to...

Hello everyone I have a Nokia E63 which my mom gave to me 'cause my 5610 was broken. (R.I.P 5610) so she gave me this phone, but before my 5610 broke, I backed up my saved messages (using ovi suite). Those are very important messages.
So when I backed it up, then my phone broke, then I got the E63, and I saw there are no "saved messages" instead there are "My Folders". And Inside that there's a "Template" folder just like in The saved messages folder. Then I opened Nokia OVI suite, I run the backup of the 5610, and surprisingly it stored the messages. But the messages inside "Saved Messages" was put to the "drafts" folder of my Nokia E63.
So here's the problem. I tried to "Mark All" of the messages in the drafts, then Options, but there was no "Move to folder" or "Move" .. So I created a new folder in "My folders" then I tried marking all again, but there was no "Move" option. So my problem is I need to move those messages in the "Drafts" to "My folders" because THOSE are not drafts and It looks dirty when I see it in my drafts so I wanted to move it to a folder.
Help please? I have searched google but there was no problem like mine.. So I really need your help guys.

Have you checked the Message Centre number? Contact your service provider to obtain the number, and then update it in Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Text message -> Message Centres.
Did you try a SIM from another Service provider? If the new one works, contact your service provider for help.
You can try these steps one by one, if the steps above do not help:
1. Turn off your phone, leave your battery and SIM out for 5-10minutes and put everything back in and turn it on .
2. Restore factory settings: type *#7780# at the standby screen. Enter 12345 for the security code or the one you've changed it to.
Before you try the next two steps, backup your phone memory using PC Suite.
3. Soft reset: This will clean up your phone memory. All user data, applications etc stored in the phone memory will be destroyed. Type *#7370#. Enter the security code when prompted
4. Hard reset: This is the last resort. Turn off your phone, press and hold down these keys: 3, * and the call (Green) button. Turn on your phone without releasing them. Leave the keys only after you see the region selection screen.
5. Reinstall the firmware: Download and install the latest Nokia Software Updater from the Nokia website. Connect to the internet, connect your phone to the PC and run NSU. Follow on-screen instructions carefully. Make sure you have a full battery and a stable PC before you proceed.

NOKIA E63 WON'T SHOW CONTACT NAMES WHEN THEY SEND ...

I just bought the Nokia E63, and have tried everything in my power to solve the issue that, when i recieve a text message it doesn't show who it's from - it just shows their mobile number. This is so annoying and has been bugging me for hours on end. I have all my contacts saved on my sim card. Please help me!

Nokia E63 doesn't show contact from your SIM card in the phone directory directly.
You need to manually "view SIM directory" to see them.
Better you copy all the contacts from your SIM card to Phone Memory.
Then you can choose/type in the name & type message & send it.
Ya one thing is really irritating which is that even if you type the number instead of the name of a person who's entry exists in the contact list, the phone still shows the number rather then the name of the person after sending the message.

E63 move sms to sim card??

I have a Nokia E63 and have now upgraded and want to pass my E63 to my dad. Before I do, I want to transfer all my stuff off it to my sim or sd card to put into my new phone. Does anybody know how (if at all) I can transfer my text messages over to my sim to go in my new phone? many thanks

I don't think you can (and a SIM card can't really hold very many messages anyway, as they are very limited in capacity).
If your new phone is also a Nokia phone, try using Nokia PC Suite (or Ovi Suite/Nokia Suite) backup (from your old phone) and restore (to your new phone).

Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.

Language packs can only be installed by some Nokia Care points. Contact your local care point and see if they can do it for you.

How to install new Nokia E63 firmware update via O...

Please nokia. Is there any system or downloadable application that can download and install new Nokia E63 software(software updater over OTA)?. If there is any out there please i will like to get the link and download it. If there is not. I thing this is what programmers should do or nokia them self. Thanks

Nokia E63 won't update, error code 12017

I can't update my Nokia E63 using the ovi suite software.
After doing a complete memory wipe, the same error code appears during the update process.
I select update 501.21.001, hit install... but before the download can even begin I get error code 12017.
After googling issue, I see many many people have had this issue. I have tried all solutions, including installing the Nokia PC Suite, then installing the software update from there. I have also tried disabling Windows ICS.
Is there any solution to this problem? Is there some way to manually update the phone's software without using Nokia's software suite?

I have exactly same problem.
I can easily update my e71 (both with NSU and Nokia Suite), but can't do it with e63 - error 12017 in Nokia Suite and nothing in NSU (I see "First step" all the time).
I've tried every solution I found on nokia forums, I reinstalled whole software, drivers, turned off ICS, AV, firewall and nothing.
I have nokia suite v3.3.86, NSU 3.0.605 and nokia firmware 200.21.012 (latest is 500.21.009/501.21.001 !!)
I ran out of options.

I only add: I can manage e63 from nokia suite, I succesfuly made a backup of all content. So the phisycall connection works.

Help with E63 Texting Language/numbers

Hi! I hope I can explain this... The first thing I have to do when I write a text on my E63 (in China) is change the language to English. After that, as I type and try to use capital letters, (using what I assume to be the "shift" key near the function button, it changes the input to either letters, or back to Chinese... Also, the space bar seems to do the same, sometimes. I am sure there is a setting somewhere that can fix all of this, but the user guide (the English one I got, AND the English one online) is not helpful! Someone please help! Thanks!

Nokia E63:no data cable.

I purchased nokia e63 on the first day of the launch. When i came home and opened the box i was disappointed, Nokia is selling a business class phone without a connectivity cable that's really unacceptable. I spent 1,200/- more on the cable. I purchased it from a nokia priority dealer but a got the cable without any box. How can i verify the cable i purchased is original? If Nokia give the cable in box then it will obviously be original and i wouldn't mind paying couple of thousands extra. It was really unacceptable. I am using a lot of nokia phones like Nokia N95 , Nokia N73 , Nokia 1650 but if i get this kind of disappointment from nokia then i have to go for some other brands.

i was to choose between e51 & e63...& e51 had a data cable included in the box while e63 didn't...thats what i came to know from the website...
after visiting the nokia priority shop...i got a confirmation to this...
then i visited another nokia shop, they said that red e63 has a data cable included blue one doesn't...thats coz blue one is more preferred by people...
i went to another shop to buy e63...they said that in new stock even blue ones have data cable included in the box...
unfortunately blue ones are out of stock...
i bought a red one, it came with a data cable...

My Nokia E63 keeps freezing

I have recently bought a Nokia E63. And since yesterday it started freezing whatever I was doing. The phone has a lot of memory free (everything I have is on the memory card). I didn't install many things, just 4-5 programs besides the ones that came with the phone.
What can I do to make it stop freezing like this?

Reset the E63. Dial *#7370# 12345 reformat, you'll lose all data. Make a backup first and restore without the settings. It's not advised to install apps on the memory card.
