Nokia E65 - SMS tone problem

My Nokia E65 CAN receive messages (SMS), but there is NO indication about receiving. There is no tone, no vibration, no light when message is received. I have tried restore factory settings, update Firmware. But there was no result, it is still catatonic about signaling that SMS is arriving. Other tones work OK (Call, clock alarm, keypad....).
Any similar problems or any other solutions?

Well this is obviously a bug. I have 2179 sms messages in my inbox. And when memory is full phone dont indicate receiving another message. But there is another bug. It says memory is full at 1500 sms, but I can still receive smses..
so if any1 else have this problem solution is to cut smses to another folder... or delete..

I note it's not there - your E65. So ask yourself this question: does your phone take 4GB? If yes, it will take potentially 32GB. The reason for that is that all microSD cards from 4GB onwards are microSDHC. If your phone is capable of accepting the lowest microSDHC available, it will be able to accept the highest - but for some software limitations. Good luck

Nokia E65 Firmware Updating Problems.

Hey guys I have a Nokia E65 (RM-208).
Whenever I try and run the Nokia Software Updater it is never able to find an update. Even though I know there are updates available.
When I press *#0000# it says 1.0633.03.00

Does anyone know an alternative way to download and install this firmware on my phone? I really need to update the firmware because this phone is very buggy.

5300 SMS tone problem

Hi.
My 5300 SMS tone is not as loud as when I set it up in Tone Setting.
I go to Tone Setting, it sound loud and clearly. But when an SMS comes, it sound too softly. I've set the max volume already.
Please help me how to fix it.

Which tone you choose can be as important as the volume setting, have you tried other tones to see if they are clearer to hear?
You will often find that, whichever make of phone you buy, the preinstalled tones are often a little dull. Try downloading some alternatives if you are not happen with the standard selection.

Nokia E65 - MMS/Internet Problems

Hey all.
Just having a few problems with my Nokia, recently I have gone with Vodafone from Optus, and having a few troubles sending MMS's and getting on the net. I checked the sticky and searched on google, tried to download the settings etc, but when I go into settings wizard it says "No Operator Data Available" so I cannot go further, not sure what to do.
If it helps as well, when I try send an MMS it says "Unable to send message" - Details - "Packet data: Invalid packet data access point"
Tried to go on access points but have no clue what I am doing so don't wanna mess anything up...any clues what I can do?

Hi Bloc
Most service providers send you the MMS/GPRS/3g access point settings on activation.
So i'd recommend you call up yr Vodafone care and check if the service is active.. and ask them how to get the settings sent to you by sms. (once active.. they gen send it to you everytime u put yr sim in a new handset)
Since these are country-service provider specific i cant help you out unless yr from an ISP i am familiar with.

Nokia 2720 - SMS Tone Repetition Until Answered

When an SMS is received a tone is heard.
Is there a setting which will ensure that the tone repeats, say every 5 minutes, until the message is viewed?

Sorry.. but there is no setting for this.. For S60 phones it is possible thru' 3rd Party applications like T-Reminder or Best Reminder.. but Nokia 2720 being an S40 phone.. these are not compatible...

Nokia 6720c - sms receiving problem

I have a problem with receiving text (sms) : when i have an incoming message(sms only,the email works fine) the phone beep twice (as normal) but the screen goes blank and it doesen't show the message "1 new message".
Last FW is installed.
Help.

Nokia E65 contacts sync problem

one of the contact in the phone has 3 mobile label
when I sync it to the PC
when i open the outlook it only have 1 mobile label the other 2 was not there
and when i open the nokia communication centrethe contacts there has few details some of my number in one contact was not seen
how can i sync everything

Today I searched through the discussions and found many other users with the same problem (Himalaya2050, Marbru, tugrulislier). Almost everybody using Nokia6230 and using international character set, maybe the root cause for the sync problem.
I think Nokia should have a tested fix for that problem.
Was the phone update the solution for other users? Do you have any feedback? I haven't found in the discussions any user with that problem solved.
When I first contact Nokia support in Brazil they told me to do many time consuming procedures (reinstall and update PC sw many times) that didn't worked and didn't make sense for me, as the sync was working with previous version. So I don't want to try another non tested solution, because I will have to go to a tech assistance, wait and probably loose all the information stored on the phone.
I think I will have to exchange my phone ...

Sms Tone just stopped working (X6)

So all of a sudden the sms tone on my x6 stopped playing when i recieve texts.
im using the same profile as usual, the same tone.
ive tried to restart the phone,
ive tried to remove the battery for a while
i tried to change to different profiles, where all tones works as usual except the sms tone,
ive tried different tones,
also its an original tune and not a downloaded one so.
and while writing i just noticed its actually messing with the blinking menubutton aswell from time to time. Any suggestions?
i want to save the hard reset as a last resort since im guessing that will clear all stuff i have on my phone.

how could clearing my inbox possibly be "most likely the cause" ? or well, dont even tell me, its not like i will understand anyway...
but i gave it a try, deleted about 4000 texts in my inbox
didnt bother with the sent folder since x6 only saves the 20 last sent.
but surprisingly this solved my problem, im really glad that i went here b4 i made a hard reset, also i really appreciate you took your time to help me out.

Problem with Iphone SMS tone.

I'm using Iphone 4 white. I have already update the software to IOS5
But i cannot set my own sms tone on iphone. What is the problem?
(My Dad is using same model as me but there's no problem, even my aunty using Iphone 3 with update ver of IOS5 is fine.)

Hi all i have had my nokia E65 for 3 weeks now and i have had to turn the phone off and on twice in that 3 week period, why you may ask.
when i use my phone its fine but the problem is when i dont use the phone the display go`s dark which it should but then the bar which displays time date and profile its the long white bar that moves at random on the screen when not in use somtimes do`s not show up at all it just shows the home screen all the time. The display do`s go dark but the long white bar that moves at random do`s not kick in. this has happend to me twice and the only way to fix it is to turn the phone off and on and then it works again what could be causing this as the home screen darkend could cause screen damage as its a static picture.
have you or anyone had this problem on the nokia E65 and if so what firmware as there are 2 diffrent firmwares now.
I am going to take it back but to be honest i think this is a bug in the phone as was wanting to know if anyone on here had the same problem as me.

Multiple problems with iSync 2.4 (e.g. "Exchange" error; Nokia E65)

Hi I have three questions regarding problems with iSync at the moment.
1. I'm confused with iSync the program and iSync the '.Mac' feature in System Preferences.
2. iSync often believes I'm trying to connect via Exchange. Not true, but it's stopping my syncing contacts in particular. I never use the Office Exchange program and one of the laptop user logins uses exchange for their email account via Mail. Can this be prevented. It currently stops all four users.
3. Nokia E65 - iSync Plug-in Problem:
I have downloaded the plug-in Nokia made available from their site ( twice and when I try to install it stops at the 'select the destination' section when I supposed to select my hard drive with a green tick. However, it has a red cross and says 'installing this software requires 156kb of space. You cannot install the phone plug-in on this volume. Please update to the latest version of iSync using Software Updates.'
FYI, I have the latest versions according the my Software Update of System Preferences on my 10.4.9 MacBook. I also have 3.7Gb of free space on my hard drive, and I've tried the recommended process from Nokia three separate times.
Any tips, anyone? I've posted this on a Nokia discussion board to see if there are any Nokia specific solutions.

Problem with SMS tone

Hi I have a problem with my iPhone..
Sometimes when i receive an SMS, the Sound that I have allocated to play when I receive the SMS does not play..
This only happen sometimes, and I cant explain why its not playing..
All the settings is correct (Volume is up , The SMS tone is set, Its not on Silent)
Can anyone help me with this!!

they are fixing the apps issue, i have never heard of their being no ringtone showing on ur iphone or itunes, have u downloaded itunes 8 as u will need that for the update, sounds like alot of your probs should be fixed, they are fixing the battery life issue i still dont use my iphone with 3g on as i have no service so im waiting for a major fix for that...well lets hope its all fixed by this update and nothing is screwed up by it as im sick of the firmware screwing up a part of the iphone, only good stable firmware was 1.1.4

Nokia e65 upgrade problem

I buy a Nokia e65 "internet limited edition" on vodafone and when I try to upgrade with Nokia software updater says that:
Connected phone was not recognized.
I can use the pc suite but can`t upgrade. Why?

Sincerely, besides the minor speed improvement, didn't notice any more improvements.
At the Nokia Care Point they told me this firmware was mainly bug corrections and some adjustments, so it would not be noticeable to the end-user (besides some battery managing improvements, more stability and as I mentioned, the small speedup).
As I never had major issues with firmware v2, to me it really didn't change much.

New firmware for Nokia E65?

I've heard many who have updated their Nokia E65 to firmware v3.0633.69.00 but my updater still says v2.0633.65.01 . Where do I get the v3?
And my E65 is very very very slow to open menus and messages. Anyone else got this problem? How can I fix this sluggish phone and make it faster? It sometimes take 5-6 seconds to open the menu or an SMS. That's realy bad

Hello itmn,
I updated my E65 to v3 at Nokia Care Point (even though it was not available in NSU, they told me they always receive the firmware upgrades first than they are released to the Internet/NSU).
After a couple of weeks using this new firmware, I noticed battery improvements (with 3G switched off), the phone is little to nothing faster, and some minor bugs I was experiencing related to WLAN were corrected.
As to your E65 being slow, I once was experiencing the same with v2 firmware and the only solution I managed to fix it was to reset the phone.
I reseted after a back up, but then decided to restore only contacts and calendar entries, and reinstall all the applications from new/fresh downloads (as I noticed some of them didn't work if they were restored from the back up).
In the end, the phone was faster and more responsive.
I guess you could give it a try.
