Nokia N73 - Software Update problem!

Hi all, I have an N73 from Orange Romania and i want to do software update, I have version V 3.0638.0.0.1 dated 10/30/2006. And when I connect to PC Suite or Ovi Suite, I say that there is no update available!
What I can do ?

I've also no overview if there are any more recent update that you already have. But I guess you know there is a more recent one since youre asking...
If it is released a more recent fw for the n73 and you cannot download it:
It's likely because your phone is branded from Orange Romania and they haven't approved the most recent update yet.
So what you can do is call Orange romania and ask if or when they will release the most recent update.

I have a big problem.
I read that some people try to update a new version of software in n73,and i saw that the problem with this software exist.
Last night, i tryed to update a new version 4.0839.42.2.1, and the phone jast shutdown,automatically.
From the last nihgt until now, i can`t start up the phone.
I don`t know what is the problem with my phone,but,i need the help

Before u do anything backup ur phone data using nokia PC Suite then try this step below few times (at least 3X continuesly.I tried and seem to be working fine till now
*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default ( you will not lose any data)
Make sure you back up your data as you will lose all of it when you perform option 2 or 3 on this list.
*#7370# - Reformat your phone
This you perform as a last resort. Nothing else is working. Turn off your phone, hold the following buttons while pressing the power button. (the default code is 12345)
re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.
If these codes are not working the only thing for you to do is contact your Nokia Care Center/Service.

Nokia N8 Software Update Available! Apps Update 1....

Just downloaded Nokia N8 Software Update Apps Update 1.0 via Programs -->Programs update but not sure what improvements it will get.
Not yet seen any obvious improvements

N73 software update problem- Be ware

After updating my N73 to ver,3.070 , Nothing seems to work.
delay proplem , cant access my calnder , cant open my text messages.I tried many times to re install in vain.
How can I go back to the older software ?

N80s, even with the latest firmware are bug ridden and reboot themselves from time to time. Nokia know about the bugs because they have fixed some of them in the N80IE firmware. I have no idea why they can't get their act together and release the fixed firmware for the N80 owners.. It's IDENTICAL hardware. Many people are "voiding their warranty" and converting N80 to N80IE versions. This is because Nokia will not sort it out "officially".

New n73 software update problems

I recently updated to the new software on my n73 via nokia (it was literally yesterday) and all seemed to be fine. now everytime i turn the phone on, it asks me for the date and time! Its either something i have done wrong, or the software, yet everything went fine when updating, except restoring my data from my memory card, which seemed to find it funny to delete all my contacts, and calender entries. I on the other hand didnt. It wouldnt bother me so much, except i am always turning my phone off and using the alarm, so if it doesnt know the time, my alarm wont go off! Nokia calls the n73 a smartphone, however everytime i use it, or read what people are posting here i start to think otherwise! surely a smartphone could at least remember the time and date!
Another problem im having, which was before and still after updating to firmware 3.6 or whichever it is, is the adobe pdf reader doesnt work, it seems to try and open, however the screen just flashes for a second and returns to the menu. i have tried opening many different sizes of pdf, and even opening from file manager, but nothing seems to work!
can anyone assist me? thanks

Try to choose "local time" instead of "London gmt" if you have set "auto update the time". All operators may not support "auto update the time" and in that case you have to set up the time yourself.
If the Adobe pdf reader is still not working you can download and reinstall it from Adobe's web site (operating system Mobile, Version symbian OS, and select language...).

I'm trying to update my nokia N73 (normal edition & current V, is 2.0628.0.0.1)
I'm using NSU & gives me the following msg.
" Phone is not supported" - see attach.
Please help, how to update my phone.
-- another thing -- I already have the new software on my pc is there any way to upload it to my phone???

I am trying to update my N73 using Nokia software updater version 1.3.20 EN , but after Searching for a connected phone and detecting it the finally trying to Identify it , this error appear "Unable to retrieve phone information , the phone model is not currently supported" , while I already updated the firmware of my brothers phones N73 original and N73 music edition using the same nokia updater and the same PC and cable

I am trying to update the firmware for my E71, as I understand the newest firmware is pretty decent and offers improved performance.
However, the programs which Nokia provide to do these updates simply don't work.
When using the update tool through the Nokia PC Suite, I get the classic 'configuration error' and I try all the suggestions it gives to no avail.
So, somebody suggests I install the Nokia Ovi Suite, as that has a software updater which apparently works. It doesn't. If I'm not getting an 'unknown error' (which suggests either to restart the Ovi suite and if that fails to reboot the computer - both of these result in the same thing happening again), then the Ovi Suite gets the Windows 'This program has stopped working' message.
Nokia - HOW HARD CAN IT BE TO GET THIS RIGHT??? You're supposed to be the market leader for mobile phones, and you can't get this right. I now remember why I swore blind never to get another Nokia phone ever again after the bug-ridden monstrosity that was the N73.

If your phone is branded or locked to Mobitel or another serviceprovider, it might be that they haven't approved the update yet, as they are entitled to. It might also be that Nokia hasn't yet released the update for that region for all I know.
There are also special edtitions released wich may never get any update. Eg. Ramadan version.
In any case, it's a matter of waiting. And it seems that it's totally random if Nokia announces updates, though they have done with some of the bigger updates (n97 v20) or the big update comming for the N8.

I was looking through the nokia uk web site for software update for my nokia 6270 phone.... read through all the topics posted by people in the nokia forums.... so came to only one conclusion that the new softwares updates for nokia 6270 are absolutely worthless. any one else who is even thinking of it should take this idea out of their heads.. as the new software updates reduces the head phone volume by almost 50%. Their is some sound bug... hope so nokia is able to improve it.. Perhaps these forums are meant to bring that to their notice....

Now my mobile software is not repaired at all & sound has come down, it gets blank screen when sliding & keyboards doesnt work outside the menu & many problems.
I feel there is some virus problem. Pl someone give some way to sort it out & is there any antivirus software for 6270
