Nokia N82 GPS

Hi
After selecting routes its giving option of purchase if cancelling that then it cancel the whole route. So what is solution

You need to purchase a license in order for the turn by turn routing to work unfortunately
You can track your position for free though.

  • Nokia n82 gps version 2.0

I updated my maps on my phone to version 2.0. It seems like I can't operate the GPS (like showing the route or simulate the route) unless I purchase their Walk/Drive license. Before I updated the maps/gps, I was about to see where to go, and simulate the route and where the arrows were pointing to. Now I can't do any of that. Why is that the case?
    Thanks!

Map v2 for Singapore, used the search function to identify origin and destination, added to a route, but unable to generate the routing. Error message no route found.
This feature worked fine in v1.

  • Nokia N82 freezes

I have a Nokia N82, while it is a great phone, the OS on this phone leaves lot to be desired. This is from my 2 months of experience with this phone.
I have Nokia Maps application, which occasionally freezes the entire phone. None of the buttons work, including the power button. All I can do to get back on track is to remove the battery and put the battery back. Such a bad solution. Power button, like in PC should work even if the OS hangs - but it does not behave right on this phone.
Now, this problem could be due to hardware problem, so I decided to find out more on this. I took the Nokia Maps application and then removed(took backup on the PC) couple of the .sis files which were there on the memory card. After this, I could consistently reproduce the hang on the phone when I clicked on the Extras->Guides option in the Maps application. Replacing the .sis file back lets the Guides option work like a charm. What it tells me is that, if the application fails to find a file, it just hangs the entire phone - some thing that would remind me of the horrors of Windows 95. Yes, the nokia OS is yet to catch up with time. Surprisingly, I could keep the menu button (it is the only key that responds in this scenario) pressed to get the "list of applications", but I can't still close the application. Come on Nokia, I would expect power button press to get a higher priority than the Menu list button press.
The biggest problem with this phone is that if the memory card gets corrupted or some files get corrupted, then the entire phone will freeze, instead of the application freezing.
Agreed, it is a feature rich phone - but if it is not stable, it would rather turn more people off.
    Solved!

I had problems with Nokia Maps 2.0 freezing on me (just as you described above). All my Maps issues disappeared when I switched off Assisted GPS (AGPS). The phone takes a little longer to get a satellite lock but there are no more lock ups or crashes.
    Maps > Options > Tools > Settings > Internet > Go online at start-up > No
    and also,
Menu > Tools > Connectivity > GPS data > Options > Positioning settings > untick 'Assisted GPS' and I also unticked 'networked based', so that only Integrated GPS is ticked.
    Worked for me.
    *EDIT*
I do agree with you though, I would like a power button to work when the OS has crashed completely. It's very frustrating that a frozen or hung handset can't simply be switched off using the button instead of a complete battery removal.

  • Problem with WLAN in Nokia N82

I can't set correct key in settings for WLAN connect.
Access Point use Pre-Shared Key Format: Hex (64 characters)
Phone allow to input only 63 characters.
    Model of Phone Nokia N82.
Can anybody help me in this problem?

    Hi,
It appears that Nokia haven’t implemented the standard fully. According to our router the Pre-Shared Key Format should be either 8-63 characters OR 64 Hex digits.
See the section on “Security in pre-shared key mode”
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access
But the N82 is only accepting the 8-63 character setting not the Hex option.

  • Problem with Nokia N82

Hi there , I have a Nokia n82 with firmware V20.0.062 , when i go to nokia update webpage it said that there is update for my divice to 30.0.019 and i want to update it but when i connected it to PC and use nokia updater it said the latest version of your divice is 20.0.062 and you can not update , please help how can i update my firmware? thanx in advance

was it originally locked. firmware is released according to your product code (found under the battery) this varys country to country and network to network.
mainly if your handset was a network branded handset, then they have not agreed for the new firmware to be released for your product code.

  • Edit Nokia Maps GPS waypoints

    Hi!
Is it possible to edit the Nokia Maps GPS waypoints on a PC?
    Tks in advance!

    @everton_cwb
    Welcome to the forum!
If you have created route upon device you can always synchronise it with Ovi, then go to maps.ovi.com and add waypoint to existing route and re-synchronise back to device if that is what you mean.

  • UK iphone 3gs upgraded from a nokia n82

Hi there ,Sorry if this is a stupid question but I have just upgraded my trusty old nokia n82 to the new iphone 3gs .And i was told all i needed to do was take my sim out the old phone and put it in the iphone and register on line at itunes .Oh this is a UK phone on the O2 contract. Now one of my big problems seems to be that all my contacts tel/add details are stored on the sim and the iphone doesnt seem to take any of this info of the sim.Does this mean i have to put my sim back in the old phone and copy all the info down and then re type it into the iphone or computer and sync it or have i just not found the correct info page online yet .Help needed, thanks.

Import contacts from another phone’s SIM:
In Settings, tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars,” then tap Import SIM Contacts.
The contact information on the SIM is imported to iPhone. If you have Contacts enabled for both MobileMe and Microsoft Exchange, you’re prompted to choose which account you want to add the SIM contacts to.
IMPORTANT: iPhone doesn’t store contacts on its SIM.

  • Unable to install jar files on nokia n82

unable to install jar files on nokia n82 please help me ........... tell me hurry

    Hi wahab999
In the case of mig33.jar if you have downloaded zip file to your PC, there are three versions included and you are presumably using the version below:
mig33 V 3.02 Beta (signed) has the complete feature set (with profiles and picture sharing on the mobile). Generally this is compatible with phones that are Java MIDP 2.0 and above. This version is signed as a trusted application and some mobile phones prefer this version.
Firstly go to Application Manager > Options > Settings and set "Online Certificate check" = OFF and Software Installation = ALL
I hope that changing Software installation = ALL may help you with this issue.

  • Nokia N82 and Microsoft certificate install

I got my N82 after using Windows Mobile for over 6 years I decided to get a phone that does email not the otherway round. I install MfE or Mail for Exchange and started sync'ng and was told to install a certificate. After spending the best part of a week trying to get the certificate installed I am stuck. The best resource I have found online so far is http://www.redelijkheid.com/symcaimport/ which allows you to upload a .cer file and then download it to your file. All the other sites talk about modify web sites and playing with the MIME, etc. That just disable the Exchange Sync default website since you need to overwrite the SSL port. Cannot use OpenSSL is I run Windows XP not linux. I see a N95 user had the same problem. If you copy the cer file, even if it is renamed it does not open on the phone if you export a .p12 it wants you to enter a "new key store password". I know with my last phone an imate I had to get a certificate install package, is there any such thing.
Anyone out there got any ideas or pointers
Unhappy email user, happy phone user

Might not help a great deal but you can use OpenSSL on Windows, but you'll need to compile it. How you do that, I haven't got a clue as I normally use Linux for that kind of thing my self.

  • How to install or configure nokia n82 as a modem?

Hi, recently trying to use my phone nokia n82 to connect to my laptop for internet access. My phone have 3G service. But the problem is when i open the "one touch access" software which provide by nokia, the windows show me that there was no modem install on my device. Then i download the modem .inf file from the website. But still the same cannot get access. I wonder how to configure or what is the proper way to do this kind of setup? I hope someone can show me all the steps. Thanks you.

    Hi,
May i know which version of pc suite are you using. Try with the latest PC Suite(7.1).
this type of error comes when the relevent modem drivers and cable drivers are not installed.
To check whether the modem drivers are installed
Goto to control panel and check in phone and modem option whether N82 modem drivers are installed or not.
if it is not there the log in to europe.nokia.com/software and select the relevent software and install.
    it will.
    if any concern mail me.
    regards,
    sherry
