Non issue.

I have seen colleagues creating two OEMs for two instances of one database and one for each.
So, what`s the benefit of doing that?It required to configure only OEM to a single database.
If you desire to use OEM against two databases on same system, then two configurations of OEM must exist on this system.
and the drawbacks?Setup of 2nd OEM is non-trivial.
The sad reality is that many folks can ONLY "manage" an Oracle DB when OEM is operational.
Without a GUI, many folks would be lost & unable to function against Oracle DB.

  • IPhone 4 non issue

I have an idea for a new Mac vs. PC commercial:
    "It's a non-issue"
    by AdamForum
    [Show enticing beach scene]
    Mac: "Hi, I'm a Mac!"
    PC: "And I'm a PC!"
Mac: "I finally convinced ol' PC to take some time off work to relax so here we are at the beach!"
[Hot college girls approach Mac and PC]
Girls: "Hey, do either of you have a phone we can use to tweet about the party tonight?"
Mac: "Well ladies, I happen to have the new iPhone4 - it is magical!"
[Mac hands his iPhone4 to the women]
    Girls: "Awesome!"
[Girls attempt to use the Web, but find no signal]
    Girls: "Your phone isn't working"
Mac: "Don't be silly! I used to always blame that on AT&T, but I've since learned that you are holding it WRONG! Hold it like this"
[Mac fidgets and tries to demonstrate a position in which he can use his phone to communicate]
...Meanwhile, PC standing next to Mac...
PC: "Ladies, have a crack at my phone -- it's an Android!"
[The girls are impressed and fall all over PC for his sexy phone that just works]
Girls: "PC, would you like to come to our party tonight?"
[Mac has now gotten his phone to intermittently retain a signal in an awkward position]
Mac: "Girls, check this out! It has a front facing camera!"
[The women look, but the only thing showing on the iPhone4's display is a warning message stating the phone is too hot and will not function until the temperature goes down -- something that isn't going to be happening anytime soon on the beach]
[PC and the ladies take off leaving Mac stranded on the sand crying over his wasted investment. He tries to convince himself:]
    Mac: "It's a non-issue."
    Mac: "It's a non-issue."
    Mac: "It's a non-issue."
    What do you think?

I think verizon should come up with a spin off of the can you hear me now commercial.
Instead of can you hear me now.
    It goes
    Can you move your hand?
I can't hear you, can you move your hand?
    Oh there you.
Wait, can you move your hand?

  • [SOLVED] (None-issue) OpenBox seems to be using too much RAM

    Hey all,
I turned my computer on, and I decided to see what sort of RAM my lightweight Openbox install uses.
I opened a terminal, typed top, and saw the memory was almost 400mb...
I don't have any panels, or any Conky. I have a background, that's about it for eyecandy.
The odd thing is, in the list after the top command, nothing seems to be using anymore than 0.1% Memory (I have 4GB RAM)...
I did install KDE not long ago, but I thought I'd gotten rid of all that by now (My first thought was maybe some of the background processes from KDE were still installed), so I'm not sure what to think right now!
I know it's a ridiculously broad problem, but I can't help thinking it's probably something I've installed that came with a load of other stuff I wasn't interested in (I had that issue a bit ago, had lots of Gnome dependencies installed along with a program) But the only thing I can think of is KDE or Gnome stuff, both of which I'm about 99% sure i got rid of.
Is there any way I can check EXACTLY what's using my RAM? I know 400mb out of 4GB doesn't sound a whole lot, but considering I'm essentially running a blank screen I think it's a bit fishy!
    Thanks for any replies.

  • Rendering file formats problem (non-issue in premier)

    hello all,
so i'm new to final cut and baffled at the unusual render issues i've encountered from the get go.
i recorded some video using the canon fs-10 / fs-20, a lowend digital camcorder.
the camera outputs the format to .mod which i then converted to .mpeg4.
without any editing in FC, a single clip needs to render just to view it in the canvas but plays ok in the viewer. does this make any sense?
i've even tried to convert to .mov and .avi.
when i used a different camera that automatically records in .mov, final cut plays back in the canvas just fine without rendering.
    so,
    1. what exactly determines when FC renders if not the file format?
    2. why does it need to render at all if i'm just playing back? it plays back in the viewer but not the canvas. baffling.
would be a real shame if FC couldn't handle simple editing with these basic files.
    thanks!

Just grabbing software, and throwing video files at it, without taking the time to read or learn HOW this said application works, isn't wise. FCP isn't Premiere...FCP doesn't just take in any old QT file and then work with it. No. It needs to be converted to a format that FCP works with. What you see in the EASY SETUP list is what FCP works with.
If you don't bother to learn the basics of the application, then things won't go smoothly. If you just want to grab QT files and throw them into an application to start editing, then use Premiere.
    1. what exactly determines when FC renders if not the file format?
If it isn't in the Easy Setup list...FCP will want to render it. If you mix two or more codecs in a sequence, then FCP will render the footage that differs from the main footage you are editing with.
    2. why does it need to render at all if i'm just playing back?
Because It is viewable in the Viewer...that's just a window to the QT file. But the canvas is where things are put together. And that is where settings are determined.
would be a real shame if FC couldn't handle simple editing with these basic files.
Basic files that aren't in editable codecs. At least ones that FCP (and Avid) work with. If you want an app that just works with stuff you throw at it, Premiere and Vegas are for you.

  • Is there a better way to deal with Verizon and my DSL issues?

My family and I have been with Verizon for as long as we've had broadband internet. For the past 5 years or so the internet has been shaky at best. For the most part it works, but a coupe times a year it stops working all together or becomes VERY intermittent (and is usually working by the time I get finished sitting on hold and the test the technician runs shows no problems). Every time I have to wrestle with the "tech support" on the phone and listen to a recording tell me the same things over and over again that never fix my problems.
Every time my internet gets to this point, it requires a visit from a Verizon technician. Usually they go out into the neighborhood and find a length of cable and replace it. Usually that fixes my issues for a while, but I know it will happen again. It always happens again.  It seems to me that the entire length of line that my internet runs through is old, and needs to be replaced. Instead of fixing the problem before it actually becomes a problem, Verizon continues to leave me and my family without service for periods of time.
Last week was the most recent time we dealt with this situation, which was fortunately short lived (Only all day Sunday, into Monday when the technician arrived). It's getting VERY tiring dealing with this situation over and over again, and it's getting offensive honestly. To hear the tech support person tell me that I will be charged $91 if the problem is found and is inside my house is ridiculous. I would understand if this was the first time this situation had occurred, or if I frequently reported non-issues. But no, I'm simply reporting the same issue that Verizon has failed to fix MANY times before.
Perhaps the most frustrating part of this, is that we've never been compensated for our lost service. Last year we lost service for an entire week. That's an entire week with no internet service at all. After we finally got it back, we spoke with the billing department and they told us that we would be credited for the week we lost service. At this point, we are yet to see any credit for the time we have been without the service we pay for. Perhaps we would have tried dealing with Verizon again to get our weeks credit, but attempting to contact someone in Verizon seems futile. Unless you're calling sales you end up sitting on hold for extended periods of time, only to be bounced from person to person until you get to someone that has no excuse not to pretend to help you.
Unless something changes, this is Verizon's last opportunity to keep our service. We have dealt with the loss of service followed by the insult of attempting to deal with Verizon's customer support for the last time. Next time it happens (and I'm sure there will be a next time) unless Verizon shows us that they are actually going to correct the problem, we will cancel our service and give our business to the competitor. This post is being written for a few reasons. I'm hoping that perhaps Verizon can give me a better way to contact someone locally when we have a problem (I would LOVE to speak with a regional manager, or even a local manager of some sort), or at least recognize that there is a problem that will end up costing them money.
    Thank you,
    A long time customer.

I've decided to give up the fight and go to another provider.  I have work to do and having to wait at speeds slower than dial up is insane.  At least with dial up I'd have some stability.  I can't even run speedtest because it won't connect.  At hotels, wi-fi, and hanging by blackberry the laptop works fine but to actually use dsl, nope.  Multiple machines and multiple browsers - it's all the same worthless bandwidth.
If they won't give you fios then there is no reason to stay.  They've been promising me the service is coming for the last 6 years.  They could have run it here by now for the postage they've spent trying to get me to switch to it even though it isn't available.  Waste, waste, waste ....

  • Cannot connect to the internet Server Essentials '12 R2 DNS issue or driver?

OK so I have a very basic knowledge of Windows Server OS's. I have a HP Pavillion 20 Touchsmart PC that I am trying to use as a Quickbooks Point of Sale PC for a small resale business. I have Comcast Business Class internet. I downloaded the evaluation
version of Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2. I want to use it because it is my understanding that it is far more secure then Windows 7 Pro. I went through the server install and entered the information for the business at first startup and that's it. I did
not change any other settings. I have the computer direct connected via Ethernet cable to the router and it will not connect to the internet. I already tried connecting it directly to the modem to see if maybe the router was the issue but it is getting the
same error. I have my other computer running Windows 8.0 connected to the router via WiFi and it is working fine. I disconnected the WiFi on my computer and plugged in the cable directly to the laptop and was able to connect to the internet. So did some research
on the web and it stated that if under command prompt the IP address started with 192.168.x.x then the computer is assigning the ip address and not the router and that meant it is an issue with the computer not the internet connection. I figured that seeing
as how my laptop is using that internet connection right now, that the internet connection is fine. I was also told it could be a issue with the drivers so i went and tried numerous drivers from different sites (no 3rd party though) ie. HP and Atheros. I also
used a widely popular software called "Driver Pack Solution 13" and it had several drivers that it updated including the WiFi. I am not going to be using the WiFi to connect to the web so that is a non issue the fact that it is not even showing networks
in the area. I need direct connect to be working however. When I run the Network Diagnostic tool it says "Your DNS server might be unavailable". But it obviously sees the DNS because under the ipconfig settings it is showing "wp.comcast.net".
I don't have any other options here I know that there are some settings in the OS that may need to be changed. I have to have this up and running by tomorrow. If there are any Server Guru's out there PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you!

My guess is that your router is not handling DNS forwarding correctly.
Can you do an IPCONFIG /ALL from a command prompt and post the response?
Also, go into PowerShell and enter the following:
    Get-ItemProperty -path hklm:\system\CurrentControlSet\services\dns\parameters
    Post the response.

  • RV042G Log Email and other issues

The RV042G manual said to use this site for support so here goes.  After owning and operating the RV082 for many years, I recently upgraded to the RV042G V01.  Overall the RV042G hardware appears to function pretty good.  The RV042G has faster throughput, but it is slightly slower in command/control response and boot than the RV082.  I have now owned the RV042G about two days and have found a number of issues.  Specifically, emailing logs doesn't work.
    - Emailing logs does not work.  RV042G does not appear to handle any type of connection authentication, it does not have a place for the senders user name or password.  I have tried SMTP servers that require no authentication and ones that do, none of them work.  RV082 worked fine with the Time Warner Cable (TWC) SMTP server, RV042G does not.  Additionally, there is NO output in the logs to show a failure.  So TWO bugs here.  I have checked settings to ensure no blocking rules, have rebooted, and even did a factory default with no luck and absolutely no mention in the logs anywhere of failure to send.
Email is my primary issue, any suggestions on getting this working would be appreciated.  I've also identified a number of other issues as well and included them here to avoid multiple posts.  These are:
    - Port 0 apparently responds to interrogation and shows CLOSED (not STEALTH per grc.com).  This was NOT the case for the RV082 and is a potential security vulnerability as it cannot be redirected.
    - Port 1 is CLOSED and apparently responds to interrogation.  This was NOT the case for the RV082.  Normally I would be good on the RV082.  I could redirect any OPEN or CLOSED ports to the bit bucket (192.168.1.254 for instance).  BUT, the RV042G Port Forwarding is NOT sending things to the bit bucket and instead decides to OVERRIDE the forwarding and respond to queries.  So there are TWO bugs here.  This is a potential security vulnerability.
    - The ALL Logs tab shows nothing, but sub tabs do until AFTER you hit the clear button, then it works as expected. This happens every time you open the logs.  Another poster identified this problem so this is confirmation of that issue.  Also, once the dialog box for the log has closed, it will not open again until leaving the page and returning.
    - Authentication failures will show up in the System Log but not in the Access Log?
    - HTTPS html interface works fine in Firefox.  However, turn it off and use just HTTP and there is a problem.  Can't see the forms and buttons, can only see the background image.  This isn't as much of a problem as I can just use HTTPS, however, with the RV082 when HTTPS was activated it would open the remote management portal regardless of whether the button was clicked or not. So really a non-issue but a bug none the less.
    - RV082 could send 500 log events, RV042 can only send 100. Again, not a bug but a reduction in capability over the older RV082.
One last thing, your hardware version control numbers and firmware download page are confusing for the RV042G V01.  Found this when I checked if there was a newer version of the firmware than what the RV042G shipped with.  Here is what the firmware update page shows:
"Cisco RV042G Dual Gigabit WAN VPN Router"
         "Firmware Release 4.2.1.02 - RV042, RV082, RV016 firmware 4.2.1.02-tm (V3 hardware required)".
The problem is that you reset the hardware version in the RV042G (V01).  Just seems probable that someone will download the firmware for the RV042 V01 and try to put it on the RV042G V01.
I like the RV042G overall and will wait for updates for these issues (email logs would be nice sooner rather than later as this is an advertised feature).  The RV082 was a great router for a long time ONCE most of the bugs were fixed, hoping the RV042G will be the same.

Guess I spoke too soon.  If Remote Management = Disable and HTTPS = Enable, it will OPEN external access to port 443.  So have to use an access rule to kill it off.  Can STEALTH Port 1 as well with an access rule but have to block all traffic there.  Cannot block Port 0 (make it STEALTH) with an access rule and this needs to be fixed in firmware.
So port forwarding does work but not when sent to the bit bucket, have to use an Access Rule instead.  (You can see this by doing the following: turn off HTTPS and remote management and look at port 443 from the outside of the firewall.  No response at all.  Now enable HTTPS and keep Remote Management disabled and forward port 443 to an unused internal IP address.  The port still shows up as OPEN but won't connect.  Again, the RV082 did not exhibit this behavoir and would simply not provide any response to an external query if forwarded to an unused internal IP address.)
    For clarity, I have the RV042G V01 with Firmware Version :   v4.2.1.02 (Jan 18 2012 14:10:55).

  • 8.1 did not fix Bluetooth issue with iPhone 5 and car

8.1 didn't fix my issue with Bluetooth. I can receive calls and play music thru my Mazda CX-9 but I cannot make outgoing calls. My daughter has same issue with her iPhone 5 in her car so it has to be glitch with Apple yet. Please help. I'm so totally frustrated and I'm not eligible for iPhone 6 until January.

I found there is another contact group list as part of the Bluetooth sync menu; altering that took care of the issue.
    This is a non-issue.

  • Browser compatibility issues with different versions of IE

I'm looking for an online resource or book on identifying/troubleshooting JSP browser compatiblility issues focusing on recent versions of IE (5.0 - 6.0).
    Any sugguestions?

A JSP runs on a server. It is actually a servlet that merely outputs HTML (usually) to the browser. Your browser does not (really) know the difference between a JSP and a static HTML page and PERL cgi generated page. There is no interaction what-so-ever between the JSP portion and your browser. There will not be any books about compatibility issues between JSP and browsers since its a non-issue.
The previous reply suggesting JavaScript conflicts is entirely true. If you want a flipping nightmare job, write javascript that is compatible on NN 3.0 and above and IE 4.0 and above. It's a godd**ned mess.

  • I'm confused...what is drop frame vs. non-drop frame...

And why does it matter guys...?
How would I know what I recorded in? Is it on my camera settings, or on FCP5 settings? Where would I look to find out?
    Thanks guys...
    Jeremy

In NTSC video, since the actual playback rate is 29.97 fps, drop frame timecode accounts for it not really being 30fps... so the editor can actually come to real timing on the program.
If non drop timecode is used in a sequence setting, and you mark an in and out point on say a 30 minute program, it will report the wrong duration (as compared to actual time). Most all DV cameras record drop frame only, but it really wouldn't make a difference if these clips were non drop. It's the sequence settings for TC that would determine the actual length of the program. Unless you have a very high end camera (AKA over 5k new) it's doubtful you can change the TC type. It's just a numbering system difference, and there really aren't any frames actually dropped when you use drop frame TC. When you look at the camera's on screen display of TC, drop frame usually is noted by separating the numbers with semi colons where non drop uses colons. It varies a bit, but FCP will recongnize the proper code when you capture from the tapes... it's really a non issue with source material though. it's still NTSC video playing back at 29.97 fps drop frame code or not.

  • When is a rogue an issue?

I have a WLC managed by WCS in an Arena Environment. During events we frequently notice rogue AP's which I believe may be causing interference with our devices. How can I tell if a rogue is an issue of concern because I usually look at the amount of dBi it puts out, if they are at -70, -80, or -90 dBi then I consider them a non-issue. Am I correct in my assesment, do I need to be concerned about a rogue if it drops to -60, -50, or even -40 dBi or am I looking at this all wrong?

The rouge AP timeout settings sets after how many minutes it would generate an alert message if a rouge AP is detected. If you change this setting to 0,you would not see the alert messages on the logs.A cleaner implementation of rogue client suppression would send a targeted de-authentication & then prevent future associations from that client.

  • How to manage the GUI timeout issue in LSMW

    Hi all,
we are running into an issue with our LSMW loads. That issue is that the load process runs in the SAP GUI and the GUI will timeout if someone doesn't generate an SAP transaction in the GUI session every so often. Since we are estimating that our LSMW loads for our production migration will run about 80 hours per batch, this is a problem needs to resolved.
    Very urgent
    Thanks in Advance.
    Jagadish

    Hi
    1. Our LSMW scripts for the following objects are designed for Batch Input and already set up for running in background mode. (Non-issue)
        - ECM
        - Object Links
        - Doc BOM Create
        - Doc BOM Change
    2. Our main issue: for loading DRW/BKT/Characteristics/Doc Files, I have already tested processing the Idocs in Background mode. All the Idocs failed because the background process on the SAP application server cannot access the doc files. (it has to use saphttp.exe on the client)
    3. Frame program for periodic data transfer (see the following instructions from "Date Migration of Non-SAP Systems to R/3")
To a limited extent, the LSM Workbench also supports periodic data transfer. Preconditions are:
        - The LSMW object has been created and tested completely.
        - The "source application" periodically makes available one or several files on the R/3 application server.
        - The LSMW object does not access files on the frontend. (Files on the frontend cannot be read in batch mode.)
Help me to solve this problem
    This is very Urgent
    Thanks in Advance

  • Customer non service

I called in yesterday to discuss the charging issue with my incredible. The first tech was very concerned and even called HTC to discuss the problem, I spoke directly with the HTC rep and she confirmed that there was a known charging issue with the phone with no resolution at this time. My call was transferred several different times until finally I got disconnected. So I called back and got tech support on the phone and this is where my problems begin. After telling another person about the issue he called me a liar stating there was no such issue and they test the phones and have had no problems, he even stated that the other tech shouldn't have got HTC involved, I told him that everyone I know with this phone has this problem,  I gain nothing by fabricating a story, Just read any forum for the incredible and you will see there is a problem, We this man had the nerve to call me a liar again at which point he was hung up on and another call placed to the first supervisor I could get on the phone. Either way if they (Verizon) refuse to admit that there is an issue,  well then there is nothing to fix. If they wont admit its broke they can't be held liable.
If you have an issue with charging don't just settle with a bump charge (to aggravating) don't settle for a extended life battery. Call in and report the problem. Make them fix the issue, I will not settle for a bandaid on the problem I want a fix for the issue.

I apologize for what I said. ( and I can no longer edit my response)
The battery issue. I still have the plain Jane battery and can get a days worth of service out of it. About 20 hours of uptime and 3+ hours of awake time. But yes, I do the bump charge to get that. But even without it, as much as I did not want to do a factory reset, battery life was helped tremendously due to having to do it. (For another reason)
I guess they (HTC) feared of the battery over charging would be a problem down the road. Is that an issue??? Yes. But to me it is a non issue. I wake up, start the bump charge and when I am ready to head out the door, the battery is charged.
There are so many things in our lives that don't meet our expectations, whether it be a relationship. cell phone, TV Monitor, our vehicle..... whatever. For me, I have bigger things to be concerned with.  If 20 minutes while I do other things in the morning cures my cell phone issue, I am happy.

  • 10.5.6 Update and External Monitor issues

I'm starting this new Thread in response to several people like myself who still cannot use an external monitor with a Macbook on this latest update. I did write to Steve Jobs about this issue and I received a call from Ireland assuring me that the graphics update would be incorporated into the new upgrade before Christmas. It clearly hasn't and, in the meantime, I replaced my hard-disk with a 320 Gb and installed Leopard up to 10.5.4 and was back in business. Now, I'm back to square one and can't use the monitor. So I will be writing to Mr Jobs again in the hope that someone takes notice that some of use Macs in a professional capacity. We're in a deep recession and the last thing we need right now are silly issues of this nature.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8631240#8631240

I'm not sure what to make of this at this point. I ordered a CTO 2.8GHz with 4GB RAM and 320GB HD the day they were announced. First week or so, few if any problems. Then the "UHF" like bands of static began to appear randomly. I use my computer 90% of the time driving an external monitor. I use a separate set up at home and work with duplicates of all cables. The problem occurs on both. I spoke with Apple Care - they patched me over to support and moved me up to Tier one pretty quick, even had me send in my System Profiler information for every combination of screen and graphics card. Then they emailed me a program to capture my monitor info again with every combination of screen and graphics card. No solution. They finally asked to "capture" my computer for their labs and sent me a new one.
Once again, about 2 1/2 weeks of smooth sailing and bam, same issues now occurring. If it's a driver issue, why is everything fine for so long? Also, 10.5.6 and the new firmware have failed to address. Given my above exchanges with Apple, they certainly can't claim they don't know about it.
I've been using Apple Products for a long time. I've seen some real buggy stuff - like when File Vault first came out but this is the worst I've experienced. Seems like poor quality control. If it's a select few machines, I appear to have won the lottery as I've had two of them.
I'm sure this issue is much more wide spread as it is a non-issue if you only use the internal display. Only people consistently driving an external display will even know there is a problem.

  • However, we've had issues with other legacy systems and programs for outlook

I have a user who when she logs into her workstation and tries to access her outlook folders she is denied access. If she removes and then adds them back they work. Only one other person on our network had this problem which I initially thought was connectivity
related. I replaced their cat five cable and that seemed to solve their problem. I tried this with this user and it cleared up for about a week but happened again today. Any thoughts or experience with this. Outlook doesnt support archives in a network share
so I cant turn to them. It uses a login batch script to load mapped drives according to department. This all predates me so I did not build them. However, we've had issues with other legacy systems and programs so it is highly possible that this could be an
    issue.

    Will:Hi! Hi!
I use Firefox and it is now No. 1 on my choice of browsers. I agree it doesn't like the "for IE only" coded sites but then IE is now a non issue as it is dead in the water! So Safari is now really bloated and getting slower by the version. Firefox is quick, good to look at with numerous skins, and what is more has become the browser of choice for web developers on both platforms because it sticks to the WWC3 code. Camino is just another flavour of Netscape which seems to be a bloat AOL IE wannabee product. Do yourself a favour and download Firefox. Give it a few spins around the block and I'm sure you will agree. As for the sites it declines to accept because of bad code, then I would suggest a strong letter of protest to the webmaster! For too long IE has been flouting the rules and trying to be the only game in town. Take some affirmative action and let the webmasters know there are other browsers available to users.
