Non-visual bean container

How to create non-visual bean container, which will have a children non-visual beans? Is this supported by Netbeans IDE?

Hi Geoff3c,
As you know SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular only supports visual totals. This is a differences between Analysis Services OLAP and Tabular that SSAS OLAP provides one feature that SSAS Tabular does not: non-Visual Totals. It was considered that
non-visual totals are not terribly common, but some developers have worked for clients where non-visual totals were required.
If you have any concern about this feature, you can submit a feedback at
http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is released in the next release of service pack or product. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, Microsoft might consider to add this feature
in the following release after official confirmation.

  • Where to put jar file containing non ejb beans

              Hi everyone,
              i would appreciate a lot if someone could tell me where i could place my jar file
              which contains non ejb beans
              thanks

              Hi,
              I´n not sure what you mean. But if you mean a JAR containing utility classes for
              your EJBs or Servlets you should put it for EJBs into the META-INF/lib directory
              of your EJB JAR or for Servlets/Webapps into the WEB-INF/lib directory.
              So the JAR file will be automatically loaded from the right classloader and can
              be used.

    Hi,
    You have not created the jms destination queue object
    jms/Warehouse
    Your server logs says it cannot find the destination queue object.It has got nothing to do with jndi name of your bean
    Create jms destination queue object using
    asadmin>create-jms-resource instance <instance_name> resourcetype javax.jms.Queue --property imqDestinationName=<NAme>  jms/Warehouse
    Then use list-jms-resources <instance_name> to
    find if jms/Warehouse destionation queue object has been created.

  • Trying to insert a custom visual bean gives me an error

    I've created a custom bean based on javax.swing.jpanel and it compiles fine. I've added it to the component panel as a visual bean but when I try to place it on a frame it throws me an error, which can be found below. I've definately had this visual bean working on another computer using forte but it may not be the same version of forte or java as on this machine. This machine has forte 3.0 and java 1.3.1. Other custom visual beans work fine. Any help greatly appreciated.

  • EJB 3.0 question - saving an entity bean containing another entity bean

    Hi,
    First, I want to store an entity bean. Secondly, I want to store another entity bean - containing the first entity bean.
    I have the following code in a session bean for this:
    public void saveFeedScheduling(FeedScheduling feedScheduling, FeedSource feedSource) {
    FeedSource feeds = em.merge(feedSource);
    em.flush();
    feedScheduling.setFeedSource(feeds);
    FeedScheduling feedSched = em.merge(feedScheduling);
    em.flush();
    This seems to work fine - still, is this the proper way to do it?

    Hello,
    This kind of parameter can be specified using the relationship annotation.
    I'm not 100% sure, but, lok at the "cascade element".

    Hi,
    You have not created the jms destination queue object
    jms/Warehouse
    Your server logs says it cannot find the destination queue object.It has got nothing to do with jndi name of your bean
    Create jms destination queue object using
    asadmin>create-jms-resource instance <instance_name> resourcetype javax.jms.Queue --property imqDestinationName=<NAme>  jms/Warehouse
    Then use list-jms-resources <instance_name> to
    find if jms/Warehouse destionation queue object has been created.

  • How does session bean contain in the JSP page

    May i know how session bean contains in the JSP page
    If the situation is like the following ...
    if i dont want to put the session bean in the session
    like this :
    session.setAttribute("UserBean",userBean);
    the way i get the session bean is only
    session.getAttribute("UserBean");
    Does have the other way to get the Session bean during the JSP
    if i dont want to use this kind of way,
    what else i can do for?
    may i know the solution with detailed
    and please attach the solution of code to me if you know...
    thanks...

    Hi,
    I am not clear with ur query..
    What I understood from ur query is that, u are trying to put the session ejb in the HttpSession Object for some use ahead in future?
    If this is the case, then I think are approach is not correct.
    StatefulSession beans are meant for this purpose, i.e they will be maintaining the client session. So use the same using the JndiLookup of the HomeInterface and the getting the Home reference and calling the businessmethods

  • Visual Beans in JSP

    Hi All,
    Has anyone experimented with Visual beans in JSP? We are failing to represent visual beans in a JSP page. Someone suggested to use applets to bring in Swing thru JSP. But, the applets are pretty slow, specially for big UI. By putting it in JSP, would it make any difference performance-wise?
    Can someone give some ideas and answers?
    Thanks!

    I do not want to use Applets.
    I want to embed my cuustom visual java bean in a JSP page.
    I am trying to figure some way out.

  • Use J2EE CAS COM Bridge locally for non visual components

    if you only have non visual java-classes which you want to access locally through COM, you should use J2EE CAS COM Bridge. this is a very powerfull component, that makes it very easy to use about ANY java-class in VC++, VB, ASP and VBScripts. Some people said earlier in this forum, that you can only use EJBs which must also have been deployed in a J2EE EJB server. well that's not true!! if you need only local access to java-components, you can use J2EE CAS COM Bridge as well. All you need is just a JRE, actually you can have multiple JREs installed and choose among them, even dynamiclly in runtime. No JDKs and no additional J2EE components are required.
    J2EE CAS COM Bridge comes with very usefull tools and lots of examples that show, how you can access java-classes in VC++, VB, ASP, etc.
    So TRY THIS!!

    unfortunately, it's outdated! The last example (6) doesn't work. The batch file cloudUtil.bat has to be adjusted to use the current cloudscape JAR files. And even then, the Visual Basic Programm terminates with an Exception at line:
    Set AcctHome = J2eeRi.LookupEjbHome("MyAccount", "account.AccountHome")
    Exception:
    Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)':

  • Non visual totals in Analysis Services Tabular

    Are there any work-a-rounds to achieve non-visual totals in Analysis Services tabular? This is a crucial feature for some of our clients and is preventing them from adopting this technology due to this feature not being available out of the box
    as with Multidimensional OLAP.  If not, are there any plans to introduce this feature for Analysis Services tabular models?

    Hi Geoff3c,
    As you know SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular only supports visual totals.

  • JavaBeans bean container

    I have a JavaBean, where one of the properties of the bean is as a bean container for other beans of a certain type or sub-type. I would like to specify this property as a BeanContext, which is the traditional bean container under Java 1.4 and up. While I can specify the type of this property as a BeanContext, and instantiate a BeanContext from the BeanContextSupport class, how can I get IDE environments which host JavaBeans to generically treat this property as a nested BeanContext ?

  • [svn] 4735: Fixing id selectors for non-visual components.

    Revision: 4735
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2009-01-29 10:53:55 -0800 (Thu, 29 Jan 2009)
    Log Message:
    Fixing id selectors for non-visual components. This required a special modification to the compiler to include id properties in generated code if a component was guaranteed to have an id property. A new mx.core.IID interface was introduced to opt in to the id property to be included. This change also required TextGraphicElement based components to implement IAdvancedStyleClient instead of just IStyleClient (though note that pseudo-selectors have no meaning for these components as they do not possess states).
    QE: Yes
    Doc: It's reasonably advanced, but we may want to document mx.core.IID for the case where a custom component exists that needs to be styled but is not based on UIComponent or GraphicElement.

  • Transaction propagation between OC4J to non-OC4J J2EE container

    I have a OC4J instance 10.1.3.1 containing a stateless session EJB 2.1. This bean call another session EJB in Websphere EJB container. The call goes through but the transaction is not distributed, meaning I cannot roll the transaction back from the OC4J container.
    I have tried all kinds of context factories but it doesen't work. I use a XA datasource to an Oracle DB from the Websphere container.
    Does anyone know how to propagate transactions from an OC4J container to another J2EE container:
    Thanks
    regards
    A Bastell

    You can specify the JNDI properties in your JSP/Java Client to lookup the EJB if it's in a different EJB container than the one provided by the JSP container.
