  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext:

              I Have exactly the same error and I would like to have a solution.....
              It happens when weblogic tries to compile a jsp page.
              So the result on the browser is the original jsp page: The jsp tags are not parsed.
              This problem exists on my Weblogic 4.5.1 sp11 (on unix) nut not on my weblogic 4.5.2 NT ?
              Any idea ?
              Thanks.

    Thanks,

    Hi!
    Can you tell us what version of JDeveloper you are using, and what steps you took to create the JSF page? Like, write from scratch or use the JSF page wizard?
    Also, can you check your project properties, and check that the JSF libraries are included, and JSF tag libraries set up?

              First thought that comes to mind is to return HTML that tells the browser
              redirect to a nonexistent file under Apache. You can't tell Apache to
              throw a 404 unless you're in a mod. Maybe something they could add to the
              proxy, but until then, I think a redirection in the response HTML is your
              only option.

  • Error when requesting JSP page

    We have just finished getting our environment set up. We are running
    WebLogic 4.5.1 sp7 on a Sun server, and are frontending it with IIS 4.0
    SP6a using the iisproxy.dll WebLogic plugin.
    We can get things working for a while, but eventually, we get the
    following error in the NT event log when requesting the first JSP on our
    site:
    "Out of process application '/LM/W3SVC/1/Root' terminated unexpectedly"
    The Web server is still up, it's just when the JSP page is called that
    we get "Page can not be displayed" errors. Any HTML pages come up just
    fine. To fix the problem, we just stop and restart the Web Publishing
    service.
    Has anyone seen this error or does anyone know what events cause this
    problem?
    Thanks,
    -Mike

    There is a big difference between this;
    http://www.mydomain.com/blabla
    and this;
    http://www.mydomain.com/blah.jsp
    blabla - this is the name of the Web application. When you reference this Web application name Tomcat will check the welcom file descriptor and redirect for that web application.
    blah.jsp - is the name of a JSP page. When you reference this page the way you did above, you are not stating where the JSP page is located. It would be locatied in the "http://www.mydomain.com/blabla/blah.jsp" location.

  • Code insight is not available when eding jsp by using 10.1.3.36.73

    I use 10.1.3.36.73 jdeveloper on windows to develop web application,
    but code insight is easy not available when editing jsp 2.0.
    I must restart jdeveloper and it still isn't often available.
    ex. in jsp
    ArrayList al = new ArrayList();
    for (Iterator it=al.
    Code insight is not supported for jsp or this is bug?

    Do you still have any code error in your jdev editor? no matter the error is JSP or HTML (it is signed by little red box at the right of the window near scroll bar), code insight sometimes is not available.

  • Error message when using JSP pages

    Version 6.0
    The error I'm getting is as follows:
    trying to POST headerFragment.html, internal-redirect reports: no way to service request for headerFragment.html
    All I'm trying to do is a jsp:forward on JSP page 1 to JSP page 2 which, at the top of it, has a jsp:include (the headerFragment.html page mentioned in the error).
    Any thoughts on how to remedy this problem would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    By default, the server will not serve static files in response to POST requests, even when using jsp:include.
    This bug was addressed in 6.0 SP2, but instances created in an earlier release will continue to exhibit the problem even after upgrading. To fix the problem, locate the following line in the obj.conf configuration file:
    Service method=(GET|HEAD) type=*~magnus-internal/* fn=send-fileChange the above line so it reads as follows:
    Service method=(GET|HEAD|POST) type=*~magnus-internal/* fn=send-file

  • Out of Memory Error when generating JSP

    Hi,
    I have a bit of a problem. I?m trying to generate quite a large JSP file (a table with about 1500 rows). The problem is that I get an out of memory error when the JSP is being generated. And it is definitely that the JSP is too large, or rather the HTML being generated from it. Now I was under the impression that the JSP page was flush now and again, but I tried to set all the different flush options and I have also tried to manually flush the page. Nothing of this made any difference except for displaying a white page instead of an error page since the header was already sent. Now this suggests to me that the page is being cached internally by the server and then sent to the client. So is there anything I can do about this?
    Regards

    You are building an HTML table with 1500 rows? That is definitely a lot. And I assume you are also putting some styling on that table...
    These days programmers resource to [url en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAX]AJAX techniques for things like that.
    You can, for example, send the table data as a list of comma separated values, and then use Javascript on the browser to create a partial table with options to browse through the different pages of data.
    If you need to show all that data in one single page, you can still try sending just the data as CSV or XML and then building the table on the browser via a Javascript loop. Use CSS for the styling so you don't overload the HTML code with styling information.

  • Null pointer exception when running JSP

    I have recently configured a web application to run on a solaris 9 platform with an Oracle 10g database. I am using Sun One Web Server 6.1 SP4 as my web server. Most of my JSP's run fine but one of them is giving me the following error:
    [29/Mar/2005:08:28:47] failure ( 961): for host 147.103.44.38 trying to GET /CI/searchSummary.jsp, service-j2ee reports: StandardWrapperValve[jsp]: WEB2792: Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception java.lang.NullPointerException at jsps.CI._searchSummary_jsp._jspService(_searchSummary_jsp.java:366) at org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:107) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:908) at com.iplanet.ias.web.jsp.JspServlet$JspServletWrapper.service(JspServlet.java:675) at com.iplanet.ias.web.jsp.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:447) at com.iplanet.ias.web.jsp.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:363) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:908) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invokeServletService(StandardWrapperValve.java:771) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:322) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardPipeline.invoke(StandardPipeline.java:509) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:212) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardPipeline.invoke(StandardPipeline.java:509) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:209) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardPipeline.invoke(StandardPipeline.java:509) at com.iplanet.ias.web.connector.nsapi.NSAPIProcessor.process(NSAPIProcessor.java:161) at com.iplanet.ias.web.WebContainer.service(WebContainer.java:578)
    I have not been able to determine the cause of this error since the line numbers in the error log refer to the servlet created when the JSP is interpreted insead of the line number in the JSP itself. Is there any way to correlate the error in the log with the actual JSP instead of the servlet that the interpreter creates? Any ideas as to what could cause this particular error? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

    Yes, you can look at the generated java servlet code under {http-instance}/ClassCache/{instance}/{web-app}/.../_searchSummary_jsp.java

  • When does JSP execute jspdestory()?

    Hi,
    I'd like to do something in the jspDestroy method. As I tested on my machine, I did not see this method is called. I saw the api from Tomcat writes:"The jspDestroy() method is invoked when the JSP page is about to be destroyed. A JSP page can override this method by including a definition for it in a declaration element. A JSP page should redefine the destroy() method from Servlet." I have tried to close my jsp page but did not have the result I thought(This method is not called). I have searched this forum, I have searched Google with keyword jspDestory() but did not get the answer either. Please help.
    Thanks
    eliechen from tw

    oh what a pity :-(
    I will rewirtie it using Servlet.
    Thanks for your reply.
    By the way I have tried having my Tomcat shutdown, but jspDestory() did not work either.
