Not able to functions in the expression editor

Hi,
I have Installed ODI "11.1.1.5".
While doing the column mapping I am not able to see any default functions (which will be on bottom left side) like string functions,math functions.....etc in the expression editor....but I am able to see the all the tree structure on the right side like global variables,local variables,odiref functions....etc....
Please help me out on this......

Hi Sai,
In mapping property (when you select a mapping column in interface) > implementation tab > you can find pencil image, click the same icon it will open a Expression Edition window where you can find string functionality, math function etc
Eg: in Expression Edition window you can find functions for String, expand String and you can find String functions. For Math, expand Operators and you can find Math operators like +, _, * etc.,

Below was the step i did which resolved the issue. hope this will help others
Go to ODI Studio
In Topology- Expand Language
Import New Language
import in synonym INSERT_UPDATE mode
The Language definitions from $ODI_HOME/oracledi/xml-reference/LANG_SQL.xml
click OK
close ODI Studio and Open again. that fixed my issue.

Connecting functions in the expression editor

Hi everybody,
what's wrong with this expression:
If ( stringindexof( Local.string , Local.search_string ) == 0 , true , false)
I get an "Invalid variable in expression If" error.
Isn't it possible to connect functions together?
or the more spectific question: How is it possible to get true or false if a string contains another one?

Hi
In the Conditional Action Block, you can map input1 to
stringindexof( Local.string , Local.search_string ).
If it will retun 0, means false. If it will retun 1, means true.

In the expression editor dialog box my TAB key doesn't function correctly

This is bizarre behavior that seems to have started recently.
In Visual Studio 2012, an SSRS project, any expression editor dialog:
The tab key doesn't work right.
Open the expression editor and:
* I see a blinking cursor and I can type in the expression box.
* If I hit the tab key, the cursor disappears and I cannot type. I appear to lose focus in the editor but focus doesn't appear to go anywhere else in the dialog box.
* If I hit the tab key a 2nd time, the cursor is still gone and I cannot type.
* If I hit the tab key a 3rd time, I can finally type again and note that I am now
3 tabstops in. In other words it seems like the tabs were working but I lost the ability to type anything until I "tab" 3 magical times.
I can work around this by hitting tab key then grabbing the mouse and clicking where the cursor SHOULD be which returns focus to the text area.

According to your description, as you said that the cursor disappears and cannot type issue. It seems that the issue may be not Visual Studio the VS IDE issue.

Context object not visible in the Expression Editor

Hi ,
I have created a context object and assigned it to the sender interface ( outbound interface) but i couldn't see the created object in the Expression editor.
Can anyone tell me why it is like this? It shows only the technical context objects .

Please try out the following and see if it works:
- Did you set the "Adapter-Specific Message Properties" in the Sender File Communication Channel.You have to select this check box and also select the "File Name" check box(this will be visible once the initially mentioned check box is selected)
- Is the interface to which the context object is assigned an outbound Interface(Sender Interface) in receiver determination? Only then the context object will be visible.

Dear all,
I have trouble to connect em console to database instance. My database is 11.2.0.3 and before this I did the patching from version 11.2.0.1, and now i cannot get fully functionality of em console.
error is:

It shows that agent is connected, database and listener is up.
I did recreation, dropping and recreating with emca, but no success.
Did anyone have similar problems with em console?

You need to first of all, Connect to the Database as SYSDBA (because your were not connected), then start the database (because it is not started).
If you already used the username and password in the command prompt and you are sure that the database is already stared, then you need to set the ORACLE_SID before you open SQLPlus. This is because if SQLPlus does not know the SID you are connecting to, it simply thinks it is not up or has no service hence the message "Connected to an idle instance".

Not able to download all the rows to excel sheet from alv grid display

Hi experts,
I am not able to download all the rows which are displayed in alv grid display for some material numbers.
for some materials i am able to download, i used two ways to download 1) from icon(local file) on grid 2) menu list->export.
i checked in debugging till selecting the spread sheet pop up window, i am able to see all the data in internal table.
Can you suggest me what will be the problem....

Workflow - Not able to stop at the breakpoint, how to debug?

I am working on solving a workflow problem, but i am not able to stop at the breakpoint put on the function module called through the program.
I am sure that the function module is called through the workflow. please tell me why is it not stopping.

maybe because it is a background method, its then executed by wf-batch.
the easiest way to test/debug a method is doing it with tx swo1, fill in the Business object and test the method with the corresponding input parameters

Not able to see all the SAP tables from CR 2008

Hi All,
1)I am not able to see all the SAP database tables(DEV server) from Database expert menu in CR 2008. Only tables those start with alphabet letters upto A & B are visible. I checked the database connection>right click>options> found no filters as well.
We are using the CR 2008 trial version with SAP ECC.
2) When i am trying with Production Server of SAP ECC, I am not able to logon to the SAP from CR 2008. It is giving error message
as : LOGON FAILED : User USER1 has no RFC AUTHORIZATION for function group SYST
Please help me to resolve these. Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify what your saying under menu > settings > Connectivity the only option you can see is Bluetooth? There are no other options to select?
Because under the connectivity menu you should be able to Network, WiFi, Bluetooth, USB, Settings, Connection manager, Mobile data tracker, Data Transfer, Video sharing, Admin settings and play via radio.
All the options should be visible on the connectivity menu on a N8 with Nokia Belle installed.

10g Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance

I am running a Oracle 10g database in Solaris 10 server. When i am trying to connect to the enterprise manager it says Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance.
The database instance is open,the listener is up and the agent connection also says that it succeeded.
The server houses two 10g databases and the EM was working properly till yesterday. Kindly Help.

Problem with EM (Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database)

Hi all,
I've Oracle DB 11g Rel.1 installed on Windows XP SP3. The database is up and running i.e. everyone can connect to the DB by using any App tool e.g. SQL*Plus, Forms, or Reports. It means that the listener and the service is running. But the problem is that when I try to start the EM I see some error messages on the webpage.
It says:
Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. The state of the components are listed below.Database Instance (Green arrow)

Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g is running.I have checked some documents around config files in sysman and test_orcl\sysman directories. Moreover, I have checked dbsnmp and sysman account for unlockness and password accuracy. But they did not help me to solve the problem.
My question is if every thing is working fine then what is the problem with the EM? Why it is not connecting to the DB?

Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance. Open??

Hello there,
After I installed oracle database and tried to start Enterprise Manager, I got the message:
Enterprise Manager is not able to connect to the database instance.
All statuses are OK (green and up) except database instance. It is also green and up but open. (Details: The instance is open.)
Can anyone help me about it?
I use Windows XP x64 with all patches installed. Oracle database R11g x64.
I tried with different database versions and different machines and different OS and loopback adapter and... my EM still want to log in.
I can log in with sqlplus. It accepts any pass for sys (as sysdba). Why?

You are using a bequeath connection when logging in with SQL*Plus on the server so the password is not validated.
Log in using SQL*Plus this way:
sqlplus /nolog
followed by
conn sys@<service_name> AS SYSDBA
and provide the correct password
My guess it it will fail.
If so then you need to use the correct password and if you don't know what it is set it when logged on as SYS.
