Not Approved Updates Showing up for Install on Clients
I have a group of servers that have an update that was selected as "Not Approved" for the group they are located in on WSUS, yet they show up for install when doing a windows update. If the update was selected on WSUS as "Not Approved"
why is it showing up on the servers available for installation? I don't want to decline the update as it is approved for other groups on WSUS, I simply don't want some groups to get this particular update so I made it "Not Approved" for that group.

Because "NotApproved" is not a DENY condition; it's merely the absence of an ALLOW condition.
It only takes one approval in one group of which a computer is a member for it to have permission to install an update. If a computer belongs to multiple groups and you don't want the update deployed, the update must be NotApproved (i.e. not allowed) for
ALL groups of which that client system is a member
I strongly encourage the practice of creating group structures so that an update only has to be approved for ONE group (or one parent group), and then ensure that group (or group structure) only has computers that should get that update.
Sometimes this also involves creating custom groups just to handle individual updates.

No, you don't need to download the Grid Client infraestructure file. That's a tool to install on servers.
The problem is that you are downloading a version of 11.2 in 64 bits, and 11.1 in 32 bits. So maybe they hay changed something between 11.1 and 11.2 that you dislike.
You could download the 64bit version of 11.1 client, but however, you can manually create a tnsnames.ora if you want. You could use netca for that purpose.

Does not meet the system requirement for installing BB App World
I bought a Curve 8520 in Singapore yesterday. When i tried to download App world into this phone, it says "my phone does not meet the system requirement for the software". does it refer to hardware specification or the BB O/s version on the phone. How can fix it because being able to use App world is one of the purposes that i buy a BB.
Also, How about MS Live Messenger , facebook ? Do I need to install them seperately through App World?

A key component in accessing AppWorld is your carrier -- if they are not delivering it, then you can't get it. If you don't have an adequate plan from them that incudes it, then you can't get it. Hence, if you meet the hardware requirements AND it is available in your country, then you need to contact your carrier to find out how you can get it via their network.
All that said, AppWorld is merely a storefront, vending apps developed by others...there are many other storefronts available that don't have the same restrictions.

App Store Update shows App already installed, but still keeps bugging me
App Store Updates continually shows Apple Remote Desktop V 3.7.2 as an update. When I click on UPDATE, I get the message:
"Remote Desktop is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updates."
"Software Update from the Apple menu" no longer exists since upgrading to Yosemite. Besides, that's what the UPDATE button does.
I looked at other discussions, and tried the advice there, with no luck:
I downloaded Remote Desktop Version 3.7.2 again, and it would not install, saying a newer version already exists.
I turned off Applications in Spotlight, then turned it back on. I even restarted before turning it back on.
I went to delete "~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore" but there isn't one.
There's got to be a way get rid of this. No it's bugging me in Notifications to update software that won't update, because it does not need updating.I can't find the disc, which was installed at least 6 years ago, when I was living in another city. Remote Desktop Admin was very expensive at the time. $299 if I remember correctly.
I've since deleted every file with remotedesktopadmin in the name, from system and user libraries. Restored 3.7.2 from the external drive, and the problem persists.
It would appear to be a software bug in App Store since I installed Yosemite. In six years of using Remote Desktop I've never had a problem until Yosemite install.
3.6 would not run because it checks for updates first. 3.7.2 runs just fine, and the App knows there is no update - otherwise it would behave like 3.6 and require an update. It's only App Store Update that erroneously indicates the App needs updating. If I deleted all plists, preferences, receipts, etc. what does App Store Update use to determine App update status?
Moreover, if I did not buy it on the App Store (there was no App Store six years ago), why is it showing up at all? I have lots of software that I bought directly from the vendor, and I don't get erroneous update messages for those.
Even stranger, when I looked at trying to buy a new copy in the App Store, instead of Buy, the icon said "Open". Somehow App Store thinks I bought it from the App Store, even though I didn't? I clicked Open, and while the App was running, the erroneous update message STILL persisted. -

Why client is downloading update from server while installing sccm client.

Can anybody give answer to my question?
I am new to sccm so when I am installing any client software the ccmsetup.log file is showing connecting to the server for downloading updates and it's taking long time to downloading because the office network is very slow 512kbps.But my setup file size
is 111MB then what updates are downloading from server and is it possible to put that updates in the offline setup.You can copy the installer from the SCCM client installers from the SCCM server to the local machine.
Refer to the below for the switches for installation.
Use the switch /source:<Path>
to specify the location of the folder for the installers you copied earlir.

I have Signature Manager Exchange Edition 2.0.3.0 installed on the hub servers.
I have enabled Sent Items update.
some clients are not getting signature update in the sent items of outlook while using cached mode.
from OWA, and MS Outlook when connected online, the signature is updated in the sent items.
I have two CAS servers and two mailbox servers. all with Exchange 2013 SP1
I tested each CAS server for the URLs of Autodiscover and EWS, with no errors or warnings.
I also test Autodiscover through
https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com . I go successful result.
Outlook clients are updated to the latest version 15.0.4701.1000
for outlook clients; I deleted outlook profile, deleted outlook folder in the user profile, re-created the outlook profile, with no luck.
from Exclaimer event logs on the Hub servers. the sent items update is successfully updating clients. below is the screenshot of an event for one email message which is successfully updated from exclaimer but it did not update on the client outlook while
using cached mode.
Since the issue is with multiple users, I am searching for a centralized solution

I'm pretty much sure that this problem is related with some version mismatch on their s/w on exchange 2013 which is causing this issue.

Update showing to be installed twice and showing to be available?
Just did an upgrade to Yosemite and did a clean install. I have auto updates activated. Installed FCP X, Motion and Compressor. When going to the update tab in the App Store, supplemental content for Motion is shown to be installed twice and listed as an available update. Why is this happening?

Is anyone else having "updates" show up for things they have never purchased?
I am having "app"s show up in my app updater that I haven't purchased. I have double checked in itunes to make sure it wasnt there. If I click the update (I didn't notice the first one as it looked like something I MAY have purchased) it then puts the "app" into the newstand. I believe this to be unsolicited material. Is there a way to prevent this???
Have you checked to make sure that you are signed into your own Apple ID in Settings> iTunes & App Store> Apple ID? Perhaps someone else is signed in on your iPad.
I have never heard of the App Store presenting app updates for apps that were not downloaded by somebody. -
Quick Time Update showed up & I installed it. Now it doesn't work.
I copied these 2 updates so you may have a good idea of what was in the pop up window to install
So I did. Now QuickTime no longer functions properly like it was right before these updates and installations. I did it the night they popped up which was the 01 May 2007 around midnight.
Please advise, help, assist, etc.
QuickTime logo now shows on email where I get emails to listen to an audio sent in the email with a link. The logo is large; a giant Q with a ? in the center.

However, the same OS but on Lombard G3 400 mhz PowerBook, went smoothly and QT is working!

Repeated Update Available Notices for Installed Updates
My computer keeps notifying me that updates available when they've already been installed and are listed as installed.
The Command Line Tools, for instance, are listed as installed a half dozen times or so, yet it's cosnattly being offered as an available update. The list of updates available for the computer keeps growing, but they're all installed. Update All or Update will run and go through the process, but the list never clears.
How do I get Updates to work properly and recognize what updates are already installed?One of these linked feedback sites should be sufficient, per issue detail:

IPhone showing prompt for installing official Youtube app
We're creating iPhone renditions of some folios we've created and published for iPad. Instead of embedding videos into the folio we're linking to them on Youtube using "Open in Folio." While this works well on the iPad, on the iPhone it keeps popping up the following message when the in-app browser opens:
I'm pretty sure this just started happening yesterday or today since I haven't seen it in prior testing. It seems like it's a change on Youtube's part when detecting a small mobile device visiting their website. Even after using the link to take me to the app store and download the Youtube app I'm still getting the same popup in the Adobe Content Viewer. It isn't changing to a prompt asking if I'd like to open the video in the Youtube app like it does when I use "Open in Device Browser" with an Android folio rendition. Has anyone else noticed this? Any suggestions for a solution? It's rather annoying to have this message popup every time you try to view a video. I'd gladly use "Open in Device Browser", however that means that there's no easy back button or other way for the user to get back to my app/folio.
AndrewTo me I think they need to re-vamp this app. Totally change and improve it. It has so much potential. Since the first iPhone came out they have had only 1 feature added to this app the whole time.

Only approving "specific" updates each month for collection
Still trying to figure out how to switch over. One thing I cant figure out as it compares to previous standalone wsus is we typically get a list of approved updates that can be installed to a particular subset of vendor machines. We are ONLY supposed to
install the updates they email us each month. Previsouly I had all these in a group in wsus. Approval was easy. Do a search on each kb in the email and apprive to said group.
So in sccm 2012 I created a collection of these same computers based on AD OU. Got that part.
The only thing I can see to do though for the specific KBs is go to All software updates, search for each KB one at a time and deploy to created vendor collection. Each month could contain numerous KBs approved by the vendor to be installed. The only
way I can see to do this all at once would be to set criteria to Title and somehow specify all the KBs on the search box but I cant seem to get that to work unless there is some special separator to use. That way it only makes one deployment package otherwise
separately I would need to do the deployment package wizard for every single KB
Does anyone do this in their env? Approve very specific updates for a collection and is there a simpler way??
thxThanks Peter. That makes sense. So I spent some time on this today. Right now my old wsus server has about 200gb of updates downloaded and I would like to not download stuff that is already installed. I created a bunch of Software update groups based on
years and then for the the current year I split it out by month then created collection groups (Servers, Test, Workstations, VDI)
That all looks good. So to test I deployed the current month and for the package source I entered the location to the wsus download location
\\servername\WsusContent\. Guessing that is correct.
So now I have all the update groups and the client installed on close to a 1000 machines. What I dont get is for any year or month I created, whether deployed or not the installed column says 0 and there are a few that show a 1 for required.
I figure the client needs to be installed but do I have to download and deploy all update groups and updates back to 2003 in order to see which clients have a particular update already installed? I was thinking I could just go through each
sug and find the updates that show Required and deploy only those to whatever collections.
Also it looks like I would need to create multiple deployment packages for each sug, one for the above collections I craeted?

My recent podcast episodes are not getting updated on my iTunes page.
My podcast which hosts on Podomatic (http://mandate.podomatic.com/) has not been updating on iTunes for my last few episodes. Usually it takes a few hours or even a day, but its been weeks since iTunes updated my last episodes. I'm not too sure what the problem or issue is.
