'Not enough memory' + 'Internal error' x 'Could not render the database' = Parting of company :(

I can’t believe the amount of concern / disappointment / frustration spread across every associated Fireworks forum re: CS5’s
"An internal error occurred"
"Could not render the database"
"Not enough memory"
"Crash without notification"
Etc.,
We installed the CS5 trial – being more than wary about Adobe’s past releases – and lo and behold, all of the above beared ‘true’!
This is nothing new of course, we’ve all been experiencing this since CS3 – but hoping against hope - a newer release would solve the poor memory management and general ‘bug-ridden’ code; alas - as per usual, Adobe has not responded with any pro-solution based action, but successfully furthered our frustration with a couple of fresh gimmicks without strengthening the core software.
As an avid fan of adobe software […and a Fireworks freak] working in a design house that has many different employees with widespread software tastes – I eventually said ‘enough is enough’ after the umpteenth crash [as of 3 weeks ago] and have revisited the Rebel Alliance; ‘yes, CorelDraw’!  No I’m not going to go into some tirade about how much better Corel is etc. - as it has its own strengths and weaknesses, too […but without the hourly crashes] – so to be honest, we figure the time increase in some projects due to using Corel […time is diminishing with each project’s acquired experience] are negated by the downtime of Fireworks; so far, this is holding true.
This may seem drastic, but it has been a long time coming – that is, implementing a move from our decade invested workflow to a ‘somewhat’ new schema, but due to the disappointing aforementioned, eventually principal / expenditure comparisons / sanity / lack of support all culminate to such, and if there’s no support for the competition, well – then there is ‘no’ competition; a luxury Adobe has taken for granted way too long.
I truly hope Adobe turns around and fixes their ways, until then – we’ll be supporting those that do – and hopefully along the way, just maybe, with the added funds from disgruntled adobe x-pats – the software will far exceed what I used to love and adore […how I miss macromedia]; honestly, it would be near on impossible to argue which suite was better ‘either way’ – so it may not be such a distant future. Besides, with the market-door Adobe is opening due to such poor software, the new player sniffing around the edges will be welcomed by many with open arms; I know my/our allegiance will go straight to the company with the greatest software stability and sound support, whomever that maybe.
So here’s to hoping no more, and actually doing! Very sad...

I am also getting this error message. It happens randomly. Adobe help told me to close and reopen FW and then it stopped happening.  Does this sound like a good solution to anyone?

  • CS3 & 10.5.2 unjustified "not enough memory (ram)" error

This problem occurs when I use particular functions, usually colour related ones (eg. the colour sampler, using the colour palette and 'select by colour'). It also occurs at random. It seems to get more frequent as I use photoshop for longer.
The error "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (ram)" pops up, often several time in a row. It is extremely irritating, and means I cannot use said functions.
It is not the case that I have insufficient available ram, because the program will execute much more complicated functions. It handles vast drawings with fifty layers, but then cannot change the colour of the paintbrush in a small jpeg.
I downloaded the latest Leopard update, which has not solved the trouble. I have also searched and searched, and can't find any other examples of a similar problem to suggest possible solutions.
The details of my system etc. are below:
Photoshop CS3 version 10.0, 30 day trial version, downloaded 4 days ago.
MacBook Pro, about 6 months old. Running Leopard verson 10.5.2, updated from 10.5 yesterday. Processor 2.4ghz, ram 2GB
Any help or suggestions would be very gratefully appreciated. I'd like to buy PS CS3 but not if it won't work properly on my Mac.
    Thanks

I'm using windows xp with 2g of ram and have the same problem... "could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)."
I heard this might be related to file corruption or not enough ram. So I killed every running process on my pc except the basic/necessary ones, tried to open a 87k image and i still get the same error message.
I opened the image in windows fax/previewer, copied and pasted a screenshot into photoshop, saved the image as jpeg (with under 100k file size) and I still get the same error message when I try to reopen it. Reinstall did not work. Duplicated this on another pc. Adobe support knowledgebase was worthless for this issue.
Seems like Photoshop is using up RAM and not letting it go like it should. I would not think that Photoshop requires almost 1mb ram to open an 87k image.
Anybody find a solution for this besides upgrading a few hundred dollars worth of RAM to open only one 87k jpg?

  • Not Enough Memory Available ERROR.

Just upgraded itunes to the latest (10.1, I think) and now I get this error message when I try to rent or download a movie:
"We Could Not Complete Your itunes Store Request. There is not enough memory available.
There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later."
The only thing I've tried to do is rent and buy videos (to view on my new iPad!) so I don't know if this happens with music too.
Am using Windows 7 pc, latest iTunes (updated today).
Have tried it with the iPad connected and without it connected. Same problem.  (FWIW, it's an iPad 2 and I downloaded the software update today so it's definitely up to date. Many gigabytes free so memory can't be a problem).

I've been having the same problem the last couple of days.  :-(
Serves me right for waiting until a few days before a vacation to download some new music...I'd get it through Amazon but my gift cards are for iTunes. Grrrrr!!!!

  • Not enough memory (RAM) error. Can't open TIFF file.

I can't open a 74MB TIFF file in CS5 photoshop.   I get error message: Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM).
I have 16GB of RAM and 55.5 GB of scratch disk.
I am using my recently installed copy of Photoshop CS5 64bit on a virtual Windows7 machine running in Parallels on a recently bought MacBookPro. This software (now deactivated) has run successfully on an XP machine and has successfully open TIFF files of this sort before.
I don't know whether this is relevant, but I can't update my copy of photoshop either. It downloads the updates, but will not install them.

I have discovered that the problem is that the TIFF files I am tying to open are 32 bit files.  There are several references on the Internet to Photoshop not being able to open these files   These are output files produced by the astro-imaging software Deep Sky Stacker.  Within DSS  I can save the 32 bit TIFFs  as 16 bit files which photoshop CS5 can open fine.
Does anyone know whether Photoshop CS5 can open 32 bit tiff files at all?  Would it help if I could update my version of Photoshop (see update problem above)?

  • "Not enough memory available" error message when accessing Shopping Cart

Can someone please help, as iTunes and Apple support can offer none at all. When I try to purchase songs or albums, or subscribe to podcasts, I get an error message that reads: "We could not complete your iTunes store request. There is not enough memory available. There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later."
This has been going on for days. I've switched to 1-click shopping, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, turned the machine on and off, and still get nothing. There is plenty of hard drive space, and have tons of free RAM.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

I just noticed all three of us have a Dell computer....did either of you recently update your BIOS? I did and just after is when I noticed the problem with iTunes that we're all having. I realize it could be just coincidence, but I can't think of anything else that changed that may have caused this problem. I was considering reverting to the old BIOS, but have done some research (mainly on forums) and don't see any mention elsewhere of this, although alot of people mentioned going back to the old BIOS for other reasons. If I can't find anything else in a day or two, I'm going to uninstall and re-install itunes. I'll report back if this helps or does nothing.
    thanks,

I read somewhere else that I may need to uninstall and reinstall itunes but I'm afraid to lose my library.

Guys .... here's a possible solution = clear the SSL Cache in Internet Explorer. Worked for me - albeit I'm on XP. The same 'fix' also worked when I (and zillions more) couldn't access the Store many months back
I can't see how trying this could cause any harm - and it might fix you
    It's done in a flash ........
1 Click Start > Control Panel.
    2 Double-click Internet Options.
If you do not see the Internet Options icon, in the left side of the window, first click Switch to Classic View.
3 On the Content tab, click Clear SSL State.
4 Click OK, when you get the SSL Cache Cleared Successfully message.
5 In the Internet Options window, click OK.
Lemme me know if it clears at the Store, for you

  • Can not delete file. Error is "Could not find this item".

I get the following error when trying to delete a file:  "Item not found".  This is a Word 2007 document that would not save properly so I saved it with a different name.  Now I can't delete the original file.
The body of the error states "Could not find this item.  This is no longer located in... . Verify the item's location and try again.

    Hi,
I'm having exact the same problem with a file with a long name, to delete, move, rename, attribute change, etc. I deleted the file, which I receive the confirmation. However, the file is still there, with zero bytes and no extension. When I try
to delet, move or change the file, I get the error "Could not find this item, This is no longer located in xxx. Verify the item's location and try again."
I tryed everything: Using DOS, there's no 8.3 name format; In safe mode; chkdsk and sfc. Nothing worked.
I also tryed the tricks in http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/27924-could-not-find-item-when-deleting-files-3.html

    Without success.
I took some more time and found this tool on the net "DelinvFile". It works perfectly, after trying EVERYTHING!!!.
I Have Windows 7 professional 64bits and NTFS.

  • Cannot purchase in iTunes store: There is not enough memory available/error

I really need answers as to why it is not working- and someone must know by now?

It seems the iTunes Store is rejecting purchases from iTunes 7.x.
People have reported resolving the issue by updating to the latest version of iTunes. However that is not possible with the OS 10.3.9 I must retain for work purposes.

  • LR4 'not enough memory' export error

Here are the specs on my computer.
    I'm running lightroom 4.4

If DdeGannes would have replied to one of the previous messages, which would still have showed his reply under yours, then it would have been possible to edit your last one, but unfortunately his reply removed your ability to edit your message and remove or replace the graphic.
Someone who knows more needs to forward this thread to a forum moderator who can edit the message or remove the entire conversation, since you know what the issue is.
Back to the original question: it may work to export less images in a batch to keep from running out of memory.
It seems like every release Adobe tweaks something about the memory management, to improve performance.  LR will run faster if more things are cached in memory and less is being read from disk, but unfortunately this uses up more memory.

  • QT would not import MPEG movie  error message:Could not parse it: 2048 help

    Dual-Core Intel Xeon   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Sounds like your file is MPEG-2 and you'll need some extra software to open it using QuickTime Player:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/mpeg2/
It only allows playback and Pro (or the other "i" apps) can't export or convert the audio portion of these "muxed" files.
    Yep. More software:

  • Elements 9 Error when creating panorama -  could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM)

I have elements 9. I am making a panorama using about 10 images. Each time i click in the box to fill in the edges ( content aware fill) i get the error:  could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM).
This is not possible, as i have a machine with 8gb of RAM, and i can clearly see that less than 5GB is utilized.
I tried converting the individual images to jpeg as this is considerably smaller than RAW but i get the same error.
In Photoshop preferences i have set the memory to the max amount it allows ( 3255mb in my case). why will it not let me assign more RAM to it?
I got PSE 9 for content aware fill as i do a lot of panoramas, and if this does not work, its been a waste of 100 euros.

Yes, this is very common. You can either up the amount of ram available to PSE in the editor preferences, or just let PSE finish the pano with unfilled edges. There is an action available in the forums at elementsvillage.com that will turn on the same kind of content aware patching that's in Photoshop and you can use that after leaving the pano creation feature.
EDIT I see you've already upped the memory. PSE is a 32 bit program and there's a limit to how much ram such programs can see.

  • "Not Enough Memory" Error when programming Keithley 2400 using LabView 6i

I'm trying to use LabView 6i drivers to control a keithley 2400 via GPIB interface. Most of the drivers work fine but the high level operations such as a the sweep functions or even functions that perform a single measurement gives a "Not enough memory" driver error. What doesn't have enough memory? A single measurement can't overload the PC's or Keithley's memory buffer so why am I getting the error?
Thanks for any help you can offer...
    Evan

    Evan,
That's not a LabVIEW, GPIB, or NI-VISA error code - that error is generated by the instrument driver. I went ahead and downloaded this driver from keithley.com to take a look at this Perform DC VI.vi function's source. But unfortunately, the heart of the Perform DC VI function is a "Call Library Node" call to a keithley DLL, so that is a black box. Also, no c-source included that I could find, so I could not look at that either. And since I don't have a Keithley 2400 to play with, that brings me to the end of the rope on my system.
A couple of more things you could try, however, since you actually have the instrument.
    (1) Definately build a simple VI to eliminate other aspects of your program. In this case, the most simple
VI would be an Init, Perform DC VI.vi, and then a close. Make sure this simple program reproduces the error. If it doesn't, then the problem is likely introduced in your code, not the driver.
    (2) If #1 reproduces the problem, then check that you have all the driver pre-requisites correct (ie, that NI-VISA is installed, that the GPIB board is working properly, etc).
    (3) If #1 and #2 do not result in any discoveries, then you will have to enter the black box of that DLL. Primary method to do that, to be honest, is to contact Keithley and ask for help, since they developed the driver. Second method is to use our NI-SPY utility, which can capture all calls to VISA drivers, (since this is a VXIpnp driver, it should be fundamentally using VISA within the DLL). Within NI-SPY, you will be able to see the individual function calls, and which ones are returning errors. That may help point in the right direction.
