Not seeing my setter but seeing my getter?

Question

I have a lass which has two methods, a getter and a setter. they are of the name fileName. I can see the getter just fine after instantiating that class, how ever my setter is un seen. So I deided to test a theory and change the name of my setter to fileObject and then I see it, the setter. But when using it I get the error: Call to possibly undefined method fileObject
Both methods are publi. The set returns nothing, and the get returns a string (we all know how to do getters and setters).
Why is this method (public method) not showing up as a possible series of methods to choose from?

These are "broken classes" as the code in them has nothing to do with this issue.
