Selections tools not working properly in Photoshop CC 2014

Just installed Photoshop CC 2014. For some reason I cannot get my quick selection tool and quick mask to work properly. I can make a selection but when I try to make a mask I get all kinds of artifacting going on. I try to use quick select to clean up the artifacting to no avail, in fact I start to get different artifacting in the selection that cannot be removed by the brush tool. HELP. To bad I uninstalled Photoshop CC. Can I reinstall Photoshop CC somehow? Anybody out there with the same problems? The focus area will not work also?

At this moment, I have tried : Reset the "Adobe Photoshop Settings File" (When you open Photoshop, push "option + command + shift" for Apple).

Camera Raw Filter is not working correctly in Photoshop CC when applied to video layer

With Photoshop CC, when editing a video and adding a "Camera Raw Filter" to some video layer, the effect will be applied only to one frame and not to the whole video layer.
Should it not add that filter to the whole layer (e.g. all frames in that clip)?

Either it's a bug or a limitation. Haven't yet tried this, so I can't tell you whether it works as it should or is acting up... I would however assume that within what one can expect it works as designed - ACR doesn't have a built-in timeline, so there would be nothing for the PS routines to request retrieval of frames from withing the SO.

Wacom tablet not working properly in photoshop cc

This is my stuff——Macbook pro (2014) Yosemite os10.10.1 Wacom Intous 4 Photoshop cc (14.2.1 x64)
This is the problem. When using the paint tool, the eraser tool, the blur, sharpen, smudge tools, and the dodge, burn and sponge tools, the following things occur. Using the Wacom Art pen on the Intous 4 tablet, if any of these tools is selected, the curser appears as it should, works as it should, however, when the curser is moved off the canvas and into the pallets region, it doesn’t change back into a pointer. If it’s a small circle, it is impossible to see. Now, if you click by tapping the stylus or left clicking the wacom mouse, the curser changes to the pointer. This same click also registers a stroke in the history panel, and at the same time, if you happen to be over check box or a tool or anything that will be activated by a click, will make that change also. But wait, theres more! While the curser is over the canvas, keyboard shortcuts don’t work. Can’t change brush size, opacity, hardness ect. When masking, can’t use the x key to switch between apply and remove mask. Can’t even choose a different tool.
None of these things happen when using an Apple bluetooth mouse, a logitech bluetooth touchpad, or the Macbook touchpad.
All of these problems also occur while in photoshop ps 6, but not with ps 5 for what that’s worth.
Anyone out there have a clue as to what’s going on?

I think the problem was the Wacom Driver for Yosemite. Come to Wacom website at Drivers | Wacom and download the las version of the Intuos Driver (MacOSX - Driver 6.3.10w2 (10.8x - 10.10x)). Wacom put on his server new information about many problems with his tablets used with Yosemite System.

Merge to HDR Pro not working in my Photoshop CC

After selecting files in Bridge and merged them to HDR Pro in Photoshop, I could see the multiple layers opening. But then, all the files are gone. Just like nothing had happened.
It was the same if I use the
Choose File > Automate > Merge To HDR Pro.
I re-installed the Photoshop CC, the problem is still there. Anyone knows what happened?

my CC dosen't work on merge function too.

Eyedropper tool in Illustrator not working on pasted Photoshop image

Hey,
I've copied images from 3 different layers in Photoshop into Illustrator. One is an outline, another is a colour fill and the last is a filled in ellipse. When trying to use the eyedropper tool to get a colour used in the colour fill, it doesn't work - only showing black or white. But it will pick up the ellipse's fill colour. It picks up other colours in the document fine that I drew in Illustrator.
Any idea what I need to do to get this to work? I'm at a loss.

I think I've figured out what was going on. The eyedropper was picking up only the outline layer's colours so was only getting black when on an outline, and white when on the colour fill area. If I delete the outline and left only the colour fill and the pink background, the eyedropper works. The outline was blocking the eyedropper from accessing the colour fill. Not sure exactly how that works as the outline isn't filled in with colour (obviously, otherwise the colour fill below wouldn't show through). Nor is it completely transparent - it's just an outline.
They are all copied into a new document on the same layer, but grouped. So I either have to delete the outline layer or turn it off in the - I'm not sure of the terminology here - layers that are within the layer(?).

File Save As not working properly in Photoshop after upgrading to Lion

I have recently upgraded to Lion and I am finding that I cannot browse the disk when using file save as in Photoshop. I click on the icons to expand the folders but nothing happens. Does anybody know a solution to this problem?

Calling script from custom panel not working on all Photoshop installs

I'm using Configurator to create a custom panel. The panel uses the html widget for the gui and which basically is made up of six links that points to different scripts located in Presets/Scripts.
The links look like this <a href="adobe://photoshop.cs5/Scripts/Foo bar">Foo bar</a> and works fine most of the time.
However, on some systems the links won't work. I can call the scripts fine via File/Scripts but they won't run via the panel. I've tried to debug with ExtendScript Toolkit but it looks like they don't run at all. In other words it's like the links are broken. My first guess was to remove spaces in the name of the script files but that didn't work.
Any idea what's going on?

Is it possible that some other software interferes with the flash panels of Photoshop? Like if the users runs some sort of antivirus/protection software? I think it's farfetched but I'm running out of ideas.
Adobe, do you know about this issue? One of my users is willing to do remote debugging so if interested you could look at this bug directly.

3rd party applications not working (ie: word & photoshop) Help!

I have been using my macbook without problems for about 7 months now, but last week it started refusing to open 3rd party applications such as word, or photoshop. I tried every application that wasn't apple software and the only one that works now is ableton live. All the non-working applications are legal, i tried reloading the microsoft office software, and even though the reload was successful, the problem still exists when trying to open any of those applications.

Sometimes when apps won't open, it's because the hard disk is full. Here's how to check to see how much free space is available.
Launch Disk Utility from the Applications/Utilities folder. Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left. Now, tell her to look at the bottom of that page where it says: Capacity and Available. Rule of thumb... never allow free disk space to fall below 15 - 20%. It takes a minimum of 15% free disk space just to boot a Mac.
If that isn't the issue, because she can't open PS or Word, it might be a corrupted font that she has used in both those applications. Tell her to try this. She needs to find this file:
com.apple.FontBook.plist It's here: /Users/HerName/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file and drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. It's ok to trash a pref file as any Mac will create a new one for her.

I'm afraid that PSE 9 used the Yahoo service for maps and Yahoo stopped that service so mapping no longer worked in PSE 9.
PSE 10 didn't even have mapping in it.
In PSE 11, mapping is back, using Google maps.
You might like to download the trial version of PSE 11 to see if you like the mapping there.

Telephone extensions not working after Openreach u...

My 91 year old mother's phone has not been working for three and a half weeks while lines in her neighbourhood were upgraded to support broadband.
The good news is that an Openreach engineer has now fixed her master socket and one phone in her house is now working.
The bad news is that the handsets on two extension sockets stopped working, when the master socket was fixed.
The Openreach engineer told my mother that the handsets attached to the extensions were old and should not be used and need to be replaced. That may well be true, but I brought one handset home and it works fine plugged into an extension at our own house - we use BT Infinity with one master socket (for the broadband router) and three extension sockets (with ordinary handsets)
The two extension sockets in my mother's house seem to be dead. (If you plug a normal handset into them nothing happens). It looks to me as if it's not the equipment that is the problem, but the sockets, which, as far as I can tell, appear to have been disconnected.
From what I can see, the telephone line comes into an (old) junction box in the house. One (new) line then goes down to the (working) master socket, and another (old) line goes directly from the junction box to the (not working) extension sockets.
My question is: who is responsibile for fixing this mess? I understand that the homeowner is responsible for the equipment and internal telephone wiring in their house, but I don't want to meddle with the wiring and sockets myself. Also, my mother (like many elderly people) has an emergency red button machine (supplied by the local authority) connected to the main phone in her house. Fortunately that now seems to be working, but I don't want to do anything that could affect the red button machine or stop the main phone working again.
We don't necessarily want to replace the system back to exactly what it was before, but my mother would like at least one extra phone in the house. The main phone is in the living room. She is hard of hearing and can't hear the phone ringing when she is in her bedroom. She doesn't like using a handsfree phone - she fiinds it much easier just to lift the handset to get dialling tone, and replace the handset when she has finished - as you could in the good old days! So an extension socket and handset in (or near) the bedroom seems to be the ideal solution, if only we could get the extension sockets working again!
My mother does not want broadband. She just wants her ordinary landline to work and to be able to plug an extra handset into an extension socket.
Can anyone help please?

Gaussian Blur does not work on Photoshop CS3

As already said, your graphical hardware isn't enough to use this kind of features.
There are 2 flavours of the Inspiron 560 : desktop form factor, and a slim one
In the case : you are using slim version you should read the Inspiron 560 slim documentation and see if your computer supports Low-profile PCI adapters and that you have one PCI slot available.
In the case : you are using normal version you should read the Inspiron 560 documentation and see if your computer has a PCI-express extension port available.
In all cases, you will need to use/buy a graphic adapter. If your hardware doesnt allow you to add it, there is no solution except changing the whole computer.

Polygonal lasso not working in PS 2014 with OS X 10.10

The polygonal lasso is not working when using Photoshop CC 2014 with the new Mac OS X 10.10 Beta. Anyone else notice this problem? It still works fine in regular Photoshop CC.

You are right about taking my chances with the beta. So far it's working pretty well. They've made a lot of cool visual improvements. A lot of other people who are not using the 10.10 beta seem to be having trouble with the polygonal lasso as well so I wonder if it might be an Adobe problem. I have sent in a report to Apple about the issue.
