Nothing Loads

Hello,
I am currently running the latest verison of Mac OSX Mavericks. Everything was running fine and smooth until just recently. Every time when I leave my Macbook Pro on sleep mode during the day (as I normally do), upon coming back to it and turning it on, nothing will load when I try opening it. My Macbook Pro is unable to connect to the wifi connection as well, and attempts to connect to it for hours if I let it, and it won't work. Same happens with applications and other programs when I try opening them. They appear in my dock, but the light below them just keeps flashing and it never loads. The only time that it ends up working is when I restart my computer, but I feel as if I shouldn't have to do that just so I can open programs and connect to the internet because I used to be able to use my computer as soon as I turned it on from sleep mode.
I am wondering if anyone knows what the cause of the problem is, and if so, how to fix it?

What happens when you try and login to accounts, nothing? Goings back to login screen? Shakes?
Do you have time machine backup? Yes > restore from backup
No? Try root user
you can use the disks to enable the root user,
If you can log into the root user you see if all the accounts still have information in it. If yes, there is hope all is not lost.
In root user, create a new user account and test that to see if that one works.
No = archive and install
Yes = login back into the root user.
Delete one account, when asked do nothing with the home folder
Re-create the account with the short name of the account you just deleted
Computer will ask if you want to use the home folder, answer yes.
Test
Works, do the same with the other accounts.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Updated to ios 6 and now when i go to the app store and try to check out my purchased it try to load the information but after about 20-25 seconds nothing loads and the app crashes. Im not sure if its because i have at least 600 apps in the cloud.

Firefox will not load wanted/allowed pop up windows, a new window will open, but nothing loads.

Firefox will not properly load wanted pop up windows from allowed site. It will allow the pop up to open, however nothing loads, it is just a blank window. I have not always had this problem and have not changed any settings to cause this. After the problem started I upgraded to version 3.6.7, cleared all recent history, and turned off pop up blockers. No change.

THESoLUTION is here :-) right...
1. you must go to control panel>programs>un-install programs
2. find any versions of java and un-install them (in my case i had something called 'kiwee'.
3. un install and voila!
This solved my problem anyway , apologies if this is not your issue

I checked the catalogs and see that lrcat-Journal and lrcat-Lock have been created every time I try to open. I have a backup from the first day I upgraded, but Lightroom doesn't want to access it. Should I reinstall?

Well, is the catalogue (and the folder it is in) writable? Have you actually checked the permissions? Lightroom won't be spitting out the error just to tick you off, and - computer wizard or not - this sounds very much like something you'll have to fix at the OS level: it's probably nothing to do with Lightroom or those funny lads at Adobe.

After installs it has two tabs that say "connectiing" but nothing loaded.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Quick way to reload "Project" after "Nothing loaded" message?'

Now I come clean that I have fat fingers and accidently click or click on the wrong places on my primary storyline now and again!
At least 3 or 4 times a day while simply dragging/moving/shortening clips in timeline, I accidently click on something and it causes the VIEWER window to go black and say "Nothing loaded" so when I play my timeline, my project is accidently not loaded as it was a second ago. First off, what the **** could I be clicking for this to happen? 2nd, the only way I know how to fix this is my stopping my momentum, scrolling back into the Libraries and double clicking again the Project I was working on to once again reload the video so I can see what I'm doing.
Is there some sort of quick shortcut to go back to the last project that was loaded when this happens? This never happened in FCP7

I'll try this after i do this accidentally again, but I'm not sure this will work as the Project is already loaded, I mean I have the time line in front of me and i can skim through them as usual, but the issue is the VIEWER/Canvas preview where I see the video from my timeline is not loaded. If I were to click the arrows, I'd have to go back to another project, then forth to my existing that is already loaded right?

Every time I open iPhoto I get the loading cursor and nothing loads. I have tried to sync photos from my iPhone, from my iPad and nothing works. I do not want to restore my whole computer to a backed-up version because I have been using the other applications just fine. How do I restore just my iPhoto and not lose any pictures?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Black screen, Nothing loads

I have a toshiba satellite l305d. When I turn it on the lights light up and the fan turns on but that's about it. The screen is black, no light, nothing loads, no startup screen or anything. I removed the hardrive and the hardrive is fine. Other than the noise of the fan the computer doesn't make a sound. Any ideas?

Yes, it sounds like the motherboard. Luckily, they are inexpensive for your model on eBay. And the L305/L305D is pretty easy to service.

ITunes and the App Store isn't loading? I can access both stores but nothing loads!?

My iTunes and apps store is loading. I can access these stores but nothing loads. I can't buy songs or look up apps

First startup of App Store may take a while, trying to pull up sign in and apple-made apps. Especially if you have a slow connection

Wi-Fi connected, but nothing loads

Downloaded + installed (upgrade, not clean) ML on my iMac this morning to find that the internet isn't working properly; the computer seemingly connects to the network fine, but nothing will load. Not in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Mac App Store, iTunes, etc. I restarted the computer a few times, and once, I was able to get sites to load (albeit slowly). Not really sure how to go about trying to solve this, so any suggestions would be great.

Are you using Wi-Fi or Ethernet?
Can you open a terminal and try to ping your router and then an Internet site (like www.apple.com)? What is the result?
If you can ping both of the above, try this command in terminal:
sudo scutil -r www.apple.com
Does this command come back and say the site is reachable?
A couple of things to try and fix this:
1. trash the system config PLISTS and reboot (note you will loose your iMac's network settings, so if you are using static entry's IP address, DNS, etc be sure to write them down before attempting this).
Open a terminal and do the following commands:
mkdir ~/Desktop/old_sys_configs
sudo cp -pR /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/* ~/Desktop/old_sys_configs
cd /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
rm -rf *.plist
The above commands will save a copy of your current network settings to a folder on the Desktop. Reboot your iMac. When your Mac comes back, try to connect to your Ethernet network or Wi-Fi network and see what happens.
If this fails, then I would suggest to reboot holding command r to get into the recovery partition so you can re download and re install ML.

HP7780: Problem with ADF - "Original loaded" message when there's nothing loaded

After two weeks away, and the 7780 turned off for two weeks, I switch on to find that I've got a message of "original loaded" on the screen on the machine. (there's no document in the ADF or on the flat bed.). I can't scan from the flat bed, or copy, as "it believes" that there is a document loaded.
I *think* its something to do with a sensor that is making it think that a document is loaded. I can print fine.
I've clean the rollers, and followed the video on checking the ADF.
I've restarted it and reset it
And still nothing.
I'm sure its something v simple. Help?

since no one responded I assume you just chucked it out the window...where it belongs i guess. It is NOT something simple...it is something dumb.

Wifi is connected but nothing loads

Off and on when using a Wifi in a hotel or at Starbucks etc., I have a strong network signal but nothing will load...my Touch checks for e mail but nothing happens, the weather application tries to update but nothing happens, internet errors with things like too many pages open so I close pages and nothing happens. Can someone help? Thanks

Open networks often require that you visit a Terms & Conditions page and agree prior to granting full network access. OS 3.x will normally pop up a Safari like page to allow you to do this. If not, you can go to Safari and refresh the page you are on to bring up the logon page for the network.

Computer recognizing ipod but nothing loading

I've read through some posts about similar problems. None seem to be exactly the same. I have no problem on my home computer. I set it up on my work computer, and though itunes showed my music updating ipod (showed the countdown by song), nothing was there when I unplugged ipod. I was on with tech support but they couldn't figure it out either. I'm pretty good at trouble shooting and I finally figured out that it would load songs only if I rebooted with the ipod plugged into the port already.
So, everything seemed hunky dory. Well, today, after loading tons of music, I tried the usual (reboot with the ipod in) and my computer crashed. It refused to reboot. I tried turning it on and off. No luck. So I called my tech guy thinking my computer had just died. He said to unplug the ipod, and sure enough, the computer rebooted. He said it had something to do with the computer thinking the ipod was the primary hard drive.
Anyway, now my "solution" to the updating problem doesn't work anymore. Any ideas?

I don't love MS, but I can also give you a list of reasons that I'm not so happy with Apple.
Let's see--they make you use proprietary cables and then stop producing them for older models
You pay $400 for an MP3 player and they don't even give you a charger you can use when you're not at your computer. And they give you a "jacket" for it that must have cost them all of 10 cents.
They're getting cocky when it comes to ipod.
