Notification center reminders

I am seriously unimpressed by the ios/ icloud reminders notification center syncing across apple devices. The software does not do what Apple advertise.
I simply want to set up a reminder on my iphone or ipad for a set date and time;
I want icloud to automatically sync the reminder across devices so that if I pull down the notification center on either my ipad or iphone the task will be on the screen. It would be useful if the task immediately appeared on the pull down center from when I enter it into either device;
When I complete the task, I could be ableo to go to notification center and delete it off one device and it should delete off all devices;
If I don't complete the task by the set date and time, it should stay on all devices until I delete it off one device IN THE NOTIFICATION CENTER.
At present, the notification center only shows the item ON THE DAY of the task, and only up to the time of the task. After the set time, the notification center removes the task. I need to go to the reminder app to see if I still have tasks to complete.

I've had some problems with Notifications and Reminders. iphone4 and MacBook running Mountain Lion.
I sent a test from my phone, it shows up in Reminders on my mac, however not in Notificatons on my Mac.
I sent tests back and forth and found that Reminders were not showing up in Notifications on my Mac.
My solution:
Sign out of iCloud on your Mac, delete everything when prompted. Don't worry, it's all stored in the cloud so you'll get it all back.
Then, delete your account on you iOS device. Turn off your iPhone/iPad.
Then, turn on you iOS device and sign in to iCloud.
Then, sign in to iCloud on you Mac.
Everything shoud work.
Let me know if this works for anyone?

  • Any Way to Show All Reminders in Notification Center?

I am wondering if anybody can help me here. I keep a list of ongoing items in the Mac Reminders App. However, since I typically don't assign an Alarm/Reminder to these items, they do not show up in the Mac OS X Notification Center.
I'm wondering if there is a way to show all my Reminders in the Mac Notification Center even if I have not set an Alarm time on them?
I think it will be much nicer to just crack open the Notification Center and see all my Reminders as opposed to having to open up the App each time.

More flexible itegration with Reminders would be nice.
I like to have a task list handy, to see what I need to do and check things off when I finish them.
So I'd like to have ongoing projects listed in my Notification Center -- regardless of whether they have an alarm going off today or not. Alarms are annoying, and setting and resetting them every day for several ongoing projects is even more so.
So it's Reminder in an always-open window for me too.
Until it has more flexibility, the NC strikes me as a bit of useless UI bling.
Although the inclusion in the NC of any edits I make to any documents in Text Wrangler is fantastic....Um. Not.

  • TS4000 How do I get reminders to remind me before the due date? To stay in the Notification Center?

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard. At first, I was excited to use the Notification Center with Reminders feature--it seemed like a more convenient version of Google Tasks, which I use as a catch-all to do list. In Google Tasks, you can clearly see an overview of what tasks you still have to complete, what's ahead, what's overdue, etc.
So I spent awhile copying the tasks into Reminders (which I resented--I don't really see why I can integrate my Google Calendar with Apple Calendar (or whatever you call it) but I can't integrate the tasks). Then, I opened notification center and nothing showed up. After awhile, I realized that your "reminders" only show up the day they're due.
I don't know about other people, but I need to be reminded about things I have to do well before they're actually due. Constantly.
Furthermore, what the heck is up with putting in a "Remind me on" field without putting in a "Due on" field?
This COULD be a great, convenient application that would help me keep my life organized. Something I would come to depend on.
Instead, it lacks some crucial, very basic, easily-implemented but not-thought-of features. As a consequence, I just wasted a bunch of time trying to get the thing to work, and I will be sticking with Google Tasks / GCal / Dropbox, thanks. Unless, of course, someone has a useful suggestion that will help me solve my problem(s).

Use BusyCal instead of iCal. Reminders will appear as you want them to.

  • Question about the notification center (Mails and Reminders)

    Hello together,
I just started using Mountain Lion and now I have some few questions about the notification center.
    1. Is it possible to show all reminds in the notification center? I have a lot of reminds without an date / time and they don't appear in the notification center.
    2. Is it possible to show the last five Mails in the notification center? I'm just seeing new incoming mails, but I would prefer it, if I could see the last five mails
(no matter if readed or unreaded).
Thank you very much for you help.

    Hallo zusammen,

Only reminders with dates appear in the notification center - undated ones don't. Once an email has been read, it is removed from the notification center. Apple has a feedback center where you can offer suggestions.

  • Reminders not showing up in "tomorrow summary" of Notification Center

The "tomorrow summary" of the Notification Center showes calendar events but not reminders.  It will just say "You have no events scheduled for tomorrow", even when I do have reminders scheduled for tomorrow.  Am I doing something wrong?  Is this normal?  If so, it's really dumb to show one but not the other...
Just to be clear, both reminders and calendar events show up fine in the "today summary".  It's the "tomorrow summary" that has the problem.

Well, I just tested this on mine, and do not get a reminder to show up in the Tomorrow Summary. To be honest, I've never looked there before when I have something scheduled, so I'm not sure that it is supposed to show. You can check the User Guide here to see if it will answer your question http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf or you can look at this support document about Notifications. iOS: Understanding notifications  If it is not possible to view Reminders in the Tomorrow Summary and you would like to see that enhancement, then you can provide feedback to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

  • Reminders not showing up in Notification Center (iOS7)

Having an issue wherein my Reminders are not showing up in the Notification Center.  Reminders are syncing just fine between my Mac and iOS apps, but, for some strange reason, they are not making it over into NC.  I have no problems with Calendar Events, Weather and Stock info showing up here, only Reminders (and, yes, I do have Reminders turned on in Settings>Notification Center).  Anyone else having this problem?

I am having a similar problem with reminders. If I add an event on the phone it will show up in Reminders, but events that are on my MBP are not showing up in Reminders on the phone but are showing up in iCloud when i log on to the website. Very strange since they were all working fine before today.

  • Apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. why is this?

Firstly, I really like the new reminders in iOS 7. However, I noticed that apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. it requires me to take an extra step and click on "all" and then click the "x" to make it completely disappear and clear from notification center.
why is this? am i doing something from?

unfortunately, that does not address my question. your link describes how to clear the missed section of center.  I know how to clear the missed section of notification center, as I said in the original question. I will re-peat my question to clarify. it is:
apple reminders do not disappear from "all" and "missed" view when dismissed from "today" view of notification center by marking the circle by the reminder. it requires me to take an extra step and click on "all" and then click the "x" to make it completely disappear and clear from notification center.
why is this? am i doing something wrong?
the behavior I would expect would be that when i click the circle on the "today" view. it would clear it out from the missed and all view so i would not have to clear in 2 areas.
    I Hope this clarifies...

  • My reminders do not appear in my notification center, any idea how to fix this?

I have a Macbook pro running Yosemite. On it, my reminders do not appear in my notification center, though it is turn on in Notifications (in the system preferences). They do not show up on my iphone (ios 8.1.1). Does anyone have an idea how I can fix this ?

    Hi jploret,
Take a look at the article linked below, it provides iCloud Reminders troubleshooting suggestions, which will  resolve most issues like the one you’re seeing with Reminders not appearing in Notification Center.

  • Reminders window won't show up after clicking in notifications center

After clicking a notificytion in notifications center on Mavericks the APP Reminders opens but the application window is not showing up. Allways worked like a charme but not any longer for me.
    I tried to:
    1) uncheck the iClound sync for Reminders while Reminders.app ist closed which deletes all local data!
    2) logout my user
    3) login again
    4) open Reminders
    5) check the iCloud sync for Reminders again
After this procedure, Reminder is working again for a day, then again the Reminders window is not showing up, after clicking a notification or open the Reminders.app manualy.
    Why is this, any hints?
    Cheers

In addition: after I went thru the steps above the applications runs without problems until I close the app again. When now reopening the app will show no windows.

  • HT5362 Past due Reminders in Notification Center, please?

Reminders show up just fine in the Notification Center for the day they are due. However, if I don't get to them, the next day they aren't there anymore. I have to open the actual Reminders app to see them. How can I get past due Reminders to show up in the Notification Center? I still need to be reminded to finish them, afterall.

I agree that reminders acts more like an alarm clock and not a to do list. Let Apple know how you would like it changed:

  • Reminders and Notification Center

I think I'm going insane.  Did Reminders disappear from Notification Center on IOS 7.1?  If not please tell me how to get my sanity back!

  • Notification Center only shows next day reminders

I've changed Notification Center to show up to 20 reminders but still will only show me the next days reminders. Is there a way to change this so it can show reminders further into the future up to the limit of 20?

No. Notifications is not a replacement for the Reminders app. It only shows pending reminders.

  • Reminders inside notification center

So is there a way to see any reminders that don't have a date attached to them inside my notification center? before I could just use reminders as a to do and not have to attach a date to them so i could look on my ical for my do to list next to my calender but now i have to put a date on them? kinda annoying.
    any help would be great!

  • Reminders have issues with push notifications and notification center

For a while now, I've been having the following issue on my iPhone:  I create a reminder, set it to "remind me on a day", and choose a specific time.  No trouble syncing with iCloud across devices.  I have the reminder notifications set on "Alerts", which should require me to acknowledge the reminder before doing anything else, and I have "Show in Notification Center" enabled.
When the time comes, I do hear the sound, and the reminder appears on my lock screen.  However, after it goes away in a few seconds (like it should if I do nothing), and then I pick up the phone later to unlock and use it, the reminder alert is no longer there.  Furthermore, the reminder does not appear in my Notification Center.
Here's an example scenario that will hopefully illustrate this problem:  I set a reminder, then go on about my work day.  Later, I'm in a meeting when the reminder goes off, and I don't immediately check my phone.  10 minutes later when the meeting breaks, I check the phone and see nothing.  Prior to this issue happening, I used to have to acknowledge the reminder alert before doing anything else with the phone.  This is causing me to miss important reminders, and it used to work brilliantly!
Can anyone help?  I really need this level of harassment from the Reminders app!

Here is what you can try.  First go to Settings/Notifications and locate the App in question and select. Then be sure Allow Notifications is on and that you have selected either Banner or Alerts for Alert Style.
If you have already tried that the best thing to do is to Delete the App for at least 24hrs then reinstall.
What this will do is give you the pop up on first log in asking to Allow Push Notifications. Selecting Yes will authenticate device token and store to server and you should be good to go.
Don't want to wait 24hrs?  Follow these steps.
    Delete App
    Power off device
Turn device back on and go to Settings/General/Date and Time
Turn off Set Automatically then set time at least 24hrs ahead.
Turn device off then back on
Open App Store and download the App
Owen the App and sign in and Accept Push Notifications
Once you get the Pop Up and accept you can now go back to Settings/General/Date and Time and turn Set Automatically back on
Turn device Off then back On and your good to go.

  • Facebook and Mail both send banner alerts in notification center for every action on facebook

So I added Facebook to my accounts in Settings.  Then I logged in to Facebook and modified my notification settings so that I would get the notifications I wanted.  Awesome. Works great.  Problem is, these notification settings in Facebook are tied directly to your email on file with facebook -- there's no way (at least that I saw) that allows you to disable getting email from FB, but allow OS X to pull in those same notification settings.
So now in Notification Center, everytime someone interacts with my Facebook, I get an alert from Facebook and an alert from Mac Mail that Facebook was alerting me.  Super redundant.
Anyone find a way around the duplications?

    I'm also having this problem.
Notifications receives alerts from Reminders app, but not Mail.
I've set preferences in Mail for 'Inbox Only' and 'All Mailboxes', sent test mail from ISP webmail and Google (Mail is not setup to receive from this account) - still no notifications.
I had previously used Growl (v1.4) and GrowlMail very successfully (with 10.7), but while upgrading to Mountain Lion I was informed that GrowlMail was incompatible so I deleted it.
While testing this problem of not receiving Mail Notifications I have disabled Growl and rebooted.
    Like others here:
    Checked: Notifications setup
    Checked: Mail setup
    Rebuilt permissions
    Rebooted
Any help would be very gratefully received.
    Many thanks.
