Notification email to user related mail box

Hello experts , i am not a security specialist , my question might be very simple :
Is it possible to realize below function : that the system generate an notification to user's email box before the expiration date reaching ( For example , the user's id will be deleted automatically if no log-in in 60 days )
if yes , how ?

Yes it is possible through a custom program. I have worked on the designing of such a program which automatically end-dates and deletes users in a system due to inactivity of user Ids for a specific period of time. Before end-dating/deleting them, it does send auto-notification to user's email inbox (outlook) providing a headsup to the usesr and also states action required on their part. The program has been running successfully without any problems.
For the email to be sent from SAP to user's email inbox, you must have configurations done for sending emails to internet address via SCOT and SO16 transaction codes.
You may work with your developer to design the logic. In case you guys are maintaining email address of users in "Email" field of SU01 then you can get a list of user IDs vs Email address from the system using tables USR 21 and ADR6 (Plugin Username in USR21 and get the Person number, again the person number can be plugged into ADR6 to get the corresponding email address of the user).
I have a functional specification for the entire logic with me which you may tailor according to your requirement. Let me know if you would need that. Hope this is helpful.

what is the value i need to use for this #WFM_REPLYTO
eventhough i am sending the to_address email id to the following attribute(wf_engine.setitemattrtext), the workflow approval not working for that email id.
only if i am using the '[email protected]' in the imap set up, then only approval is working.
how can i override this to_email address value([email protected]) to my desired email address?

Is it possible to trigger a transaction from an email sent to SAP mail box?

Hi All,
I have found a strange requirement where a transaction has to be triggered by double clicking on a line in the email sent to SAP Mail box...!!!
The requirement is, a batch input program has to be executed and an email with error details has to be sent to the address specified in the parameter of the selection screen. If user double clicks on the error details, transaction SM35 should be called to rerun the batch...

Not sure if this can be achieved using ABAP. But may be possible using workflow. Don't have much idea on workflow :(. Wait for others suggestion.

The send mail function will send mail to the users and or alias in the workflow step where you invoke it. The IDOC script guide will help you with implementing these kinds of things.

Notification Emails for User Administration

Hi all,
I'd like to configure the Netweaver system to automatically send out mails to users when the account is created using "Generate Password".
This system is a pure Java system and does not have the ABAP components and therefore I am not able to use the SCOT or RZ10 tcode to configure the SMTP.
I have went to User Aministration > Configuration > Notification Email and set the hostname there. It does not send out any mails. Am I missing any steps? Any help is appreciated.

The javamail has to be set in ConfigTool for Netweaver to send mails.

Get someone in the IT department of your university to verify the settings for their email server. It's possible that you overlooked something when setting up the account.

How do I remove an mailbox I recently added as an iCloud IMAP account in error? It should have been added as a POP account.

Highlight it in Mail > Preferences > Account and click on the "-" tab at the bottom of the list panel.

Send an email to a mail box when generate a xml publisher report in R12

I faced a tough problem about xml publisher, there is a user's requirement, they want to send an email to a common mail box after user run the xml publisher report in EBS R12 instance, and they can check the report in mail box, I have not met any reuqirement like this before, so anybody has the experience about this? and please kindly share it with me, thanks a lot.
It seems I need upload the rtf file or xml file to a directory and then system will send the mail automaticlly, but I do not know the detail information.

Forward mail already in the mail box

I have set up forwarding for incoming mail for a user to his external mail. The problem is there are already emails in the user's mail box. How to forward these emails to external mail account ? We don't want to forward each email manually or use an e-mail client for this.

Found the answer to all FF 4 failures and problems, Ive uninstalled it and re-installed FF 3.6.14
Everything is back to normal ;-)

Prefererence- Notification- "Email Style"

How to set prefererence-> Notification->"Email Style" to HTML Mail with attachments , by default this value is coming as "disabled" to all users.

Marty, My client wants an automated process where the users can reset their own password. Do you know if the user password reset on the logon page is a automated process? Does the email with password go directly to the user or the email goes to the administrator and then the administrator has to reset the password?
I have read some documentation on help.sap.com and it looks like it sends an email to administrator and then the administrator resets their password. In the worst case scenario, i am thinking about decompiling the <b>umelogonbase.jar</b>.

Exchage server mail box issue.

Hi All,
One of the user in Exchange Server has a mail box size of 500 MB. I have disabled this user but not deleted, since He left our Company, after reducing the size of his mailbox to 10 MB from 500 MB, I realized that
there were still many mail items which were available in his mail box & his mailbox property value was showing XXXX amount of items and it xxxxxx KB of space, thus it means that his mailbox items are still occupying 332 MB out of 500 MB, unfortunately
I have already reduced mail box size to 20 MB, I would like to know where will the items available in his mailbox and suppose if i increase the same user's mail box back to 400/500 MB then will I get back to the all mails and there will be any effect
on exchange server database (EDB) file. If so, what are the consequences

No increasing the users MB size will not bring back items that have been deleted.
How did you do the deletion?
How long ago did you so the deletion?
Are you wanting to get the data back or just wondering why the its still occupying space in the DB?
When you delete items via Outlook they are first put into the Deleted Items Folder
When you empty the Deleted items Folder the items are placed within the Recoverable Items/Deletions folder until the deleted item retention is reached
Once the Deleted item retention is reached the data is purged from the DB and the space it use to occupy is now white space. The DB size itself will not decrease instead that white space can be used to store other items from any user in that DB

E-mail receipt from customer mail box

Hi ,
Can any one help me how to configure the email receipt from customer mail box?
Our scenario is like this.
When sales order is created sap system will sent order confirmation to customer mail box. I have already configured the email confirmation till this stage and getting the results too.
1. When customer receive the order confirmation in his mailbox and we need the acknowledgement from customer either in the form of read receipt or delivery receipt from customer mail box.
2. When we want some information has to pass to customer mail box along with order confirmation. Like " Dear Customer ...Your order has been confirmed...in the body of the mail....etc.
If any one ever did this then please let me know what are the procedure involves to configure above scenario.

Mail boxes not being emptied

I get daily emails that I need to delete some emails due to full mail boxes. I have emptied all my mail boxes but still get the notices. What is the clue to get this corrected?

I am having the same issue, which appears to have started with the last firmware update to my iPhone. Yahoo no longer pushes mail to my iPhone, and the check every 15 minutes does not work - I have to manually refresh my email accounts to check for mail. This used to work correctly. I've had no luck finding answers online yet.
