Notifying other checkboxes to toggle the state within an Action

Hello,
I created an action that toggles visibility of one dialog. There is a JCheckBoxItem in the menu and JToogleButton on the toolbar. Both with this action deployed (with setAction() method).
When user click on the menu item checkbox it do not toggle the checkbox on the toobar and vice versa. I need some mechanism to "connect" the checkboxes with same action to set their values synchronously.
What mechanisms or interfaces to do this?

Collecting the stats every 5 seconds

Hello,
I would like to collect the data from the weblogic server every 5 seconds. With WLST, I am able to get all the information I need. The problem is how to automate it to make it run every 5-10 seconds. If I am in WLST Online prompt, can I create a script and make it run frequently. It will be great if I get an advise about how to go about it and what is the best way to do it.

I want the same results in vmstat format, which I believe collectStats() function will achieve. Can you please give me a little more detail on how to work on it. Will the function print the stats within the WLST prompt or after it comes out. Please advise me as I am not getting an idea about how to implement it.

I just attempted the share myself with a contact and found it did not transmit the notes field either. I've only used this method for sharing maybe twice since I've had my iPhones. I don't remember if it ever worked before, and then I wouldn't know why it wouldn't. Sorry I couldn't help any more than that.

Save the state of the bean within the bean

If i have a bean say BigBean which contains another bean say SmallBean.
Both of SmallBean and BigBean implment seriablizable. If i save the BigBean, will the state of the SamllBean be saved automatically ?

Yes.. if your SmallBean field is non-transient.

How to use a checkbox to toggle visibility of a Bar or Line on a Graph

I came across a tutorial but can't seem to get it working properly. Would someone be able to better explain how you can use checkboxes on/off to toggle the visibility of a line or bar on a graph? I know you can do this directly within the graph's legend, but my legend is so large that it doesnt fit on my screen, so I need to take an alternative route.

It appears that you're missing the logic for the check box. There needs to be a cell whose value changes based on the check box's status (1 for checked, 0 for unchecked). Do this choosing 'destination' in the check box's options and setting it to a cell in your spreadsheet. The default values are 1 for checked, 0 for unchecked. Then, you should have the values for your blue line in a table, but the actual line graph should be driven from an identical table that gets its information from the first table (confusing?). The logic in the 2nd table should read: =IF(Control Cell = 1, Actual Value, "")
What this does is if the check box is checked, then the 2nd table will read the same as the first, and your values will appear. However if the check box is unchecked, the 2nd table will have blank values ( "" ) and thus not register.

maybe i am wrong but i think the if statement within a view is not working correctly. See code down below.
I would like to use the Hallo World depending on the page attribute isFrame with or without all the neccessary html tags. Therefore i have embedded the htmlb tags in an if statement. But for any reason if isframe is initial it isn't working. It would be great if anybody could help me.

The short answer: your example is <b>NOT</b> going to work. The long answer will probably 5 pages to describe. So first let me rewrite the example so that it could work, and then give a short version of the long answer. Do not be disappointed if it is not totally clear. It is rather complicated. (See the nice form of IF statements that are possible since 620.)

So why does your example not work? Let us start with a simple tag:

What the runtime does not know, is whether the tag wants to process its body or not. Each tag can decide dynamically at runtime whether the body should be processed. So the BSP compiler generates the following code:

You can see that your ENDIF statements are closing IF blocks generated by the BSP compiler. Such a nesting will not work. This is a very short form of the problem, there are a number of variations, and different types of the same problem.
The only way to solve this problem, is probably to put the body into a page fragment and include it like I did above with the duplicate HelloWorld strings. But this duplicates source code. Better is to put body onto a view, that can be processed as required.

How do I use the button states in an action script?

In my Captivate 8 project I use smart shape as buttons. The buttons have different images presented dependent on the state of the button. I have also created a simple action script that shows what happens when the button is pressed. When the button has been pressed the normal state of the button appear. I, however, want the down state of the button to remain visible util the user presses another button. How do I accomplish this? Is there variables for the buttons different state or how can I create that?

When you talk about 'actionscript' do you mean advanced or shared actions? You cannot write actionscript within Captivate, only Javascript. If you use advanced/shared actions they'll be converted on runtime to either Actionscript (for SWF output) or Javascript (for HTML5 output).
The states in shape buttons are the normal way buttons behave (not only in Flash). If you are indeed using shared/advanced actions, and you want the down state to remain until the next shape button is clicked, you'll have to go the way described by iFlashAppsToo. Create shapes that have the look of the down state, make them initially invisible and group all those shapes on one slide. Add two statements to the shared/advanced action (please do use shared actions, you'll save time):
Hide Group so that eventual down mimicked states on previously clicked buttons disappear
Show Im_Downx to show the down image for that button

Tracking Memory usage on iOS using the Stats class

I've been checking memory usage on an app I'm developing for iOS using the Stats class https://github.com/mrdoob/Hi-ReS-Stats ( http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/mobile/WS4bebcd66a74275c3-315cd077124319488fd-7fff.html#WS 948100b6829bd5a61637f0a412623fd0543-8000).
I added the Stats class to my project and redeployed and, yikes, memory usage reported in Stats creeps up (pretty slowly) even when there's nothing happening in the app (just showing a loaded bitmap).
To try and track down the issue I created a project with a test class that extends Sprite with just this single call in the constructor :-
addChild( new Stats() );
I deployed it to the device to check that it didn't gobble any memory.
But I was Suprised to watch the memory usage creep up and up (to approx 5) before some garbage collection kicked in and takes memory back down. I left it running and then it crept up again to over 7.5 this time before being kicked back down to just below 3.
So 2 related questions that I'd appreciate any feedback/observations/thoughts on :-
1 - Is this normal (i.e. memory creeping up when there's nothing other than Stats in the project) ?
2 - What is the best way to monitor memory usage within an app ? Is Stats good enough - is Stats itself causing the memory usage ?

My conclusions are :-
- If you run an app and leave it idle, memory usage gradually creeps up (presumably as memory is being used to perform calcs/refresh the display etc)
- Periodically the garbage collection kicks in and memory is brought back down
- This cycle could be in excess of 5 mins
Run with your real app and memory will increase and be released much more rapidly/regularly.
- It's probably worth performing initial checks by running on your desktop to iron out any initial problems

Using a different default component state within each page state

I am using a custom component in multiple page states but would like to have a different default state (for the same custom component) within each page state.
Is there anyway to use a different default component state within each page state .
When I change the default state at a component level it seems to go across all my page states. Any solutions?

Possible to have if statement within filters code?

I have some filters set up, and have assigned some global vars to them, which I then use in my Filters code to display the filters:
myText:Filters [globals.data.glow1, globals.data.stroke1, globals.data.shad1]
Works perfectly.
Now I want to assign a global var to each global filter var to determine if it should be shown or not. So...
globals.data.glow1On = true;
globals.data.stroke1On = true;
globals.data.shadOn = true;
... and then somehow incorporate these new vars into an if conditional to determine if the filter global vars get included in the myText:Filters code.
However, I cannot seem to code the if conditional into the myText:Filters code correctly.
I even tried seperating it out like so:

if (globals.data.stroke1On = true) {myText:Filters [globals.data.stroke1];

But Flash only makes the last filter true (kinda makes sense to me now why).

You are not coding the conditional properly. "=" is for assignment, "==" is for comparing equality.

I am trying to Install Exchange on my Lab, getting below error
message.
The Schema Role is installed on Root Domain and trying to install
exchange on Child domain.
1 Root Domain - 1 Child domain. both are located on single site.

Hi Srinivasa,
I guess, you didn't completed the initial setup schemaprep and adprep before starting the installation. You can do it as follows:
1. Open command Prompt as administrator and browse to the root of installation cd and run Setup.exe /PrepareSchema /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
After finishing this,
2. Setup.exe /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:"<organization name>" /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
3. To prepare all domains within the forest run Setup.exe /PrepareAllDomains /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms. If you want to prepare a specific domain run Setup.exe /PrepareDomain:<FQDN of the domain you want to prepare> /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
4. Once you complete all of the 3 steps, install the pre-requisities for Exchange 2013
5. Finally, run the setup program

How to capture the data within the given range of maximum and minimum values ? from csv files

My requirement,
1. Here, the user will provide the range like maximum and minimum values, based on this range, the VI should capture the data within the given range. ( from CSV file as attached )
2. Then VI should calcluate the average value for captured data and export it to excel.
This is my requirement can anyone help me on this.

Here I am attaching the VI, what I tried.
From attached CSV file, I have to find an average value for columns B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and AJ, AK. ( data range will be defined by user ), focused only on these columns
Here, the scope is to calculate an average value for given data range by user as MAX and MIN data.
FYI: I tried manually for two instance i.e column H & I. As per H column one steady state values from 7500 to 10500 and similarly in I column 7875 to 10050. So, I gave these as a limit to capture and calculate the average value. But unfortunaltely, requirement has been modified as per below requirements.
More Info on requirement:
--> The user will define the range of data by giving some MAXIMUM and MINIMUM values(for above mentioned columns induvidually), then VI should capture that data range and it has to caculate the average value for that range of data. This is the task I have to complete.
--> I am stuck in creating a logic for data capturing for given range of MAX and MIN value from user,

How Do You Set the State Of a Custom Compent's Child Custom Compent?

I'm starting to build very complex interface 'widgets' built by taking simple custom compents and creating more complex custom compents from these compents and then again grouping those to create custom components. However, I'm starting to lose access in Catalyst to set these sub custom compents. It maybe just a noob issue.
Am I looking at this wrong?
Should I not be nesting compents?
Other wise how do I access these?
I haven't jumped into the code part of FLEX yet but I figured it would be very OOP like, so... (psuedo code)

     Thank you for your feedback. You have run into a current limitation with the "play transition to state" interaction and the "Set Component State" action in the timeline. Currently the UI that allows you to pick a state only "sees" components that are direct children of your current context. The state picker doesn't allow picking states of components that are more deeply nested.
We are aware of this issue and how it impacts user's ability to author more complex projects, so we are looking at ways to allow users to pick states deeper within the hierachy when creating interactions.
One work around that works in *some* cases is to set the state of sub components in a parent component using the PI rather than using interactions.
If you have a structure like this
Application
    WidgetA (with state1 and state2)
          WidgetB (with state1 and state2)
          WidgetC (with state1 and state2)
You can record what state WidgetB and WidgetC are in for each state of WidgetA. To do this double-click WidgetA, select WidgetB and change the current state in the properties editor for WidgetB. That state will be remember for each state of Widget A. Then when you have an interaction at the application level that changes the state of WidgetA, then WidgetB will change state as well. This works well if WidgetB is in the same state for each state of WidgetA. If you want to change WidgetB and WidgetC states directly from the Application level, there isn't currently a way to do this.

Can I change the state of an object by highlighting over text?

That question probably doesn't make sense, but I didn't know how to word it with just a few words.
I'm working on a site where I have a 'button' that has text in it. When someone hovers over the button, it changes colors (it's basically showing the user that the site is responding). When I put text inside the button, it causes the button to not change colors when I hover over it.
I know that it's happening because the text is covering up the area that is supposed to respond to the user's mouse.
So, I'm wondering if there is a way of either making the text and the 'button' all one object, or if it's possible to make the text 'invisible' to the mouse. What I mean by 'invisible' is that the computer wont acknowledge the text which will make the button responsive to the user's mouse.
I am able to do this through photoshop but I was just wondering if it's possible to do this in only muse.

You can define states for the background layer such as rectangle and then insert text frame which will change the state on hover of mouse, but if the text frame covers the background then it wont active the state.
The purpose that you are trying to achieve such as invisible text to mouse is not possible with native menu features , but yes as you have mentioned you can use an image for this , write up the text and use the image.
The state button has same feature with rectangle in background and text within that.
