Now even more confused then B4 regarding Server setup
Hello Everyone,
After spending hours and hours Googling. I am new to Flex and
would like to learn to interact with dynamic data slowly. Indeed,
too much information is available online but have yet to come
across the right info. This is what I have so far:
Flex Builder 3.0 configured with Eclipse.
Mysql 5.0
Php
JDK6.0
Appache 2xx
I followed couple of online tutorial and realized that I need
to install FDS 2.0 which for the life of me cannot be found on
Adobe. I have done searches for FDS2.0 Express Edition and directed
to Adobe download site and when I tried to download it, I end up
with Flex Builder 3.0 NOT FDS 2.0.
Right to the point:
What server(s) do I need:
JBoss
FDS Tomcat
Jrun 4
Blaze DS
What else do I need to get going Data Services? I would
highly appreciate your help.

FDS is now LiveCycle Data Services (LCDS). Please find more
details on LCDS at the URL below. You can also have a look at
BlazeDS, which is a free and open source version on LCDS. Please
find more details on BlazeDS at the URL below.
All said BlazeDS/LCDS is for Java based back ends. If you are
using PHP and need to get the power of Remoting and other you can
try AMFPHP.
Regarding servers, you can use Apache Tomcat/JBoss/Jrun4 for
Java as the server side technology. If you are using PHP as the
server side technology then you might have to configure the servers
mentioned above a little bit to get the PHP scripts executed.
BlazeDS/LCDS is not a server.

Pardon my ignorance. I have scoured the forums and no one seem to touch on the exact subject I am talking about.
I can't seem to update iCloud's calendar via my iPhone's calendar with all connectivity turned on (sync,push,pull,slap whatsoever).
Also, iCal on Mac follows iCloud (sluggishly and not due to connection problem, so i'd nice to have a status bar telling me whether or not it's active and doing some updating) so when I sync iPhone to Mac it becomes a even more confusing situation...
Simplified version:
-Events created on the iphone doesnt get on icloud.
-When iphone is synced with ical on mac and changes are made on Mac, changes are not immediately reflected on iphone unless clicked "sync"
-I just want to view a live ical at all times without going to safari and opening up the web iCal. I want to view a 100% live iCal on the native iCal via iPhone. Like google docs! Is that too much to ask!?
Iphone seemed to have a "push" or "sync in this many minutes" option for iCal, but that seemed like it's only receiving changes, and not send out changes made via phone. Very confusing, very annoying!Download iTunes using the tab at the top of this page. Then run the update with iTunes closed.

Flat file as a source - now more confused then before.
Sorry to open this topic again - i just got confused to what needs to be done (i did read all of the posts on previous topic - honest!) got confused to who did what and how it needs to be done. it's hard to be stupid sometimes :(
here is what i have:
OWB server (target + runtime repository) = RHEL 4
Source (the location of the flat files) = shared drive/folder on Windows
OWB client (my machine) = Windows (unfortunatelly)
I followed the steps described in

created samba mount point from OWB server to the Source files:
/mnt/folderA/folderB/source_file.txt
mapped shared drive from the source onto my machine
Z:/folderA/loderB
created location for the flat files in OWB:
TEST_LOCATION = \\windows\folderA\folderB\
imported flat files into OWB (had to go through the sample)
created the map 'TARGETLOAD' - simple load the data from the flat file into the table
validation produced the following message:
VDL-2398: No data file specified. Generated code will use the sampled file name and the file location 'TEST_LOCATION'
--which is fine isn't it? it should be using this file in that location
generation went OK.
deployment produced this error:
SQL*Loader-500: Unable to open file (/u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/owb_1/owb/bin/unix/\windowsfolderAfolderBTARGETLOAD.ctl)
SQL*Loader-553: file not found
SQL*Loader-509: System error: No such file or directory
i checked this directory - there are 2 files there that were created by OWB:
\\windows\folderA\folderB\TARGETLOAD.ctl
\windowsfolderAfolderBTARGETLOAD.log
Could anyone please enlighten me on what is going on? What do i have to change/amend/edit/tweak in order to solve this? all i want is to be able to load the data from flat file on the source windows box into the table in OWB server.

I cannot use external tables - my superiors decided agains it, so i am lambered with external files (even jedi mind trick didn't work!).
What i do is import external files from windows box. The location is specified as \\windows\forlderA\folderB
--Mount the drive onto unix then register the files location as the unix path.
i have a samba mount point from unix box to this windows location. But what i can't do is to select is as a location. i even tried to mapping this mount point onto windows box, so that it looks like \\unix\mnt\folderA\folderB - and of cause when i execute - i get the same error.
I even tried configuring the sql loader (right click on map and select configure -- create), but i cannot do it even that way. coz everytime i try to create - OWB automatically assigns windows path to it.
IT told me to let them know what i need and they will create it (map the drive etc) the problem is - i can't think of how to do it! and i do not have a priveleges to start 'trying things out'... well they say if i break their security one more time -i am in trouble!
I know it sounds sad, but could you please let me know what i need to have/to do in order to make it work.

I just bought OS X Lion and now it says I need to go to the App store and pay even more money to get a newer iPhoto for PhotoStream to work between my iPhone and my computer. Is this a rip off to make us pay more $ or is there another way to update iPhoto?

I'm now more confused than ever about exporting!
Hi there,
I have only ever exported now 3 movies from FCE to Quicktime for use on the web. Each time I get more and more confused! So I think so far I have just fluked it. I have replicated what I did (the process of exporting) on the last video about a month ago that video was only 5 mins long and took about 30mins to export and ended up being 23.6MB.
That said, this new video took 5 hours to export. Also, the file size is 760MB.
I am trying to export a 14 min FCE movie.
Does that sound right to you?

What have I missed this time that I must have done last time to get the file size down so much? or if there are any other suggestions on how to export it would be MUCH appreciated.
I have searched forums and watched endless how-to videos on this topic and I just don't get why the file size is so large compared to last time and I am getting more and more confused! I must warn you, I don't speak computer that well and this may be a really stupid question/topic so I'm sorry but, I NEED HELP!

AlanaIt seems as though you are doing things OK from what you describe . . . . apart from the audio.
Maybe you didn't quite set it that way?
Was there any difference in the original video format from usual?
Simply choose Export>Using QT Conversion and select LAN/Intranet, leaving all the settings in their default position.
Make sure the audio format is AAC (not IMA 4.1) with a bitrate of 128kbps. -
Pop ups on mac?
I got a mac a few months ago and a few weeks ago I began to get mackeeper ads popping up in a different screen. Now it s getting worse and happening almost every time I click on something, and there s even more variety of what websites pop up. Now I have pop ups on the actual website I m on and they pop up every time I click something. It s really obnoxious and I hate it. How can I get rid of this....? It s really distractingClick here and follow the instructions, or if there’s a type of adware not covered by them on the computer, these ones. I can't download the latest update 5.0.1 I've tried several times and it gets to the end of about 70 minutes of downloading and then says the server timed out. Had the ohone for a year and no trouble until now. Please advise what to do. Thanks.

OSX = Finder > Applications > iPhoto. Double click the app to open it.
The icon (alias) will then be back on the dock. Right click the Icon > Keep in Dock.
Icons dragged off the dock vanish in a puff of smoke.. they are only aliases (shortcuts)

I just upgraded to the 5s. I have several mail accounts and I'm getting a message that says: "can not get mail, the connection to the server failed" . Now I'm confused because all the mail shows up perfectly.
Well it does it every time I go to mail and is driving me nuts. It never happened on my iPhone5, just on this 5s.

Came with a HUGE scratch, but now has even more, warranty cover still?
My ipod came with a scratch that we thought was a hair when i first took it out but then we took it out of the case and it was such a deep scratch when you run the backside of your fingernail over it you can feel a bump, but after about a day of having it caseless because all the stores are sold out, it has even more scratches, none this deep but still.. does my warranty still cover this? also my click wheel is off center

I am Getting
"SMTP Error Code : <530>. For more information, see your SMTP server manual" error, While configuring SMTP in Data Services 4.0 system. I have tried executing the SMTP_TO function on another DS machine which has 3.2 verion installed, but getting the same error.
FYI,
1) Able to telnet the Exchange server through Data service machine
2) Maintained SMTP settings in Data services server manager
3) using the same SMTP server host name in other SAP systems (ECC,BI,PI) etc and able to send mails.

Getting another problem wherein I am not able to send mails to multiple recipients i.e. If I specify 5 recipients in SMTP_TO function and execute the job then Every individual is getting E-Mail having there own ID in TO field, other Id's are not gettting displayed in TO field.
I hve checked note "1276348 - smtp_to function - multiple recipients not displayed"
Settings mentioned in the note have been done and job is getting executed without any error but the mails are not getting delivered.
It would be great if anyone can suggest on how to proceed here.

ITunes 11.0.2 breaks playlists even more!
I'm SO ANNOYED!!!...
They've broken playlists even more now!!!...
In iTunes 10 when you searched a playlists for something (normal or smart) and pressed play that search would "stick" and you could look at other playlists and come back to the searched playlist and the search would still be there and everything would keep playing fine...
When iTunes 11 came out and you searched a playlist it would act the same and the search would "stick" until you came back to that playlist... ...When you go back to the playlist your search would be cleared and all the playlist items would be back... ...Annoying but still a little workable...
Now in version 11.0.2 as soon as you change to a different playlist your search is removed and any item in that playlist will play!!!... ...GRR!!!...
This annoys me because I've got a playlist that is the 100 oldest podcasts in iTunes... ...But depending on what I'm doing I might want to listen to audio or watch video... ...so then I do a search for an individual podcast and listen to the all the oldest episodes from that... ...and if I'm listening to audio I sometimes poke around iTunes to delete older podcasts that I've listened to or have a look in the store... ...But now as soon as you go off the playlist the search goes away and EVERYTHING is up next to play!!!... ...And it's the same for all my music playlists too... ...for example the playlist of tracks that haven't been listened to for the longest... ...If I search an artist in those playlists and then go off the list it will just play anything in the list...
Unless I've totally missed a checkbox or a right-click somewhere that will change the search and playlist behaviour... ...Anyone have any ideas???... ...Or are we stuck with it this way now???...

My daughter accidentally purchased something from an in app purchase, I haven't got the £2.99 in my account until tuesday, and do not want the in app purchase, my account wont log in now even to download free apps. How do I get my account to log in again and function properly, I shouldn't have to wait until I have a meagre £2.99 in my account again do I because I need the app store for other apps etc and updating, even if it is only 3 days I want my account back, I do not want nor did I give permission for the in-app purchase and would be happy for it to be returned/credited back so I can have MY account available for my IPhone.
Please can someone give me more information or let me know how else I can get my account working again, before pay day on tuesday.

Safari and firefox stop working after a few minutes of browsing, regardless of what site I'm on. I have to restart my computer to get internet access again but it only works for a few more minutes, then I have to restart again. I don't get a spinning ball, it just stops working at whatever page it's on. I can close the program just fine but when I re-open it, either safari or firefox, it freezes trying to load the hompage. This started a few days ago after trying to stream a movie on my computer. I'm on a Mac Air OS X Version 10.6.8 and have downloaded all updates. When I go into finder, it says I have over 80 gigs available. Is there some other memory cache that I need to check? Thanks so much for your help.

I'm not trying to belittle your issues; you're certainly having them and I know first hand how annoying an intermittent AirPort issue can be. (In fact, mine was due to an AirPort driver bug that no one else seemed to suffer from.)
The single best diagnostic you could do is take your system running 10.5.7 to an Apple Store, and try using their in-store network.
If your machine performs flawlessly, it may be a router issue.
If your machine has connectivity issues there, it may be a hardware problem with your machine.
There have been numerous people in multiple threads over the years who swore that an update was buggy because things used to work, but returned later to sheepishly admit that they took their machine in, a problem was found and fixed, and now their Mac works flawlessly with the newer software.
But simply reinstalling 10.5.5 in no way means the explanation of how firmware bugs may be at play here is incorrect.
In the context of that explanation, all you've done is possibly reinstall software that asks to add "2 + 3."
