NSAPI (libproxy.so) Error message on Solaris 8

I'm getting strange message when Netscape Client starts on Solaris 8:
cbfe-dev-web01:/opt/weblogic:263> /opt/netscape/netscape
ERROR: ld.so.1: /opt/netscape/netscape: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/netscape/plugins/libproxy.so:
symbol __nsapi30_table: referenced symbol not found
Cant load plugin /opt/netscape/plugins/libproxy.so. Ignored.
Can you give me idea what happened to NSAPI ? It worked before.
I rebooted the Solaris server - it did not help.
Just a reminder : libproxy.so was copied from
Weblogic 6.0 SP2 ../lib/solaris directory into /opt/netscape/plugins.

What's version of NES/Iplanet you are running?
thanks

  • Error message on Solaris booting

It was troubled, I have a Question.
When starting Solaris2.5.1(x86), the following error message is always displayed.
In order not to display this message, what should it carry out?
Moreover, what is a cause to display?
    Cause is Hardware? or software?
    -------boot message-----
    Hostname : TEST01
The file system (/dev/rdsk/c1d0s0) is being checked.
/dev/rdsk/c1d0s0: INCORRECT BLOCK COUNT I=1053783 (2 should be 0) (CORRECTED)

The system is coming up. please wait.
    -----end----------------
Usually, "init 0" (or "shutdown -y -g0 -i0") is used when shutting off a power supply.
In this case, an error message(incorrect block ,,,,,) is displayed.
But often, when I use "halt" , an error message may not be displayed
It cannot repair even if it uses the "fsck" command.
    (Ex. fsck -F ufs -o b=32 /dev/rdsk/c1d0s0)
I have no idea about a cause.
please let me know If there are informations.
    ----system environment----

    SCSI:AHA-1510B, Serial Multiport:aurora 8000P,
    HDD: WD200BB (20GB, IDE)

Most likely, this is nothing to worry about. The message is fairly normal. There were some problems with sync'ing disks when such old Solaris x86 systems shut down, but it gets cleaned up when the system boots (which is what the message is telling you).
If reliability is important to you, upgrade to a modern version of Solaris and turn on file system logging.

  • NFS mount error messages on Solaris 8; is there a patch?

We recently purchased an EMC Celerra NS80 to serve as a front end to our Centerra archive solution. On a Solaris 8 box I've been seeing a large number of NFS errors in the /var/adm/messages file relating directly to the datamover on the NS80. I've tried everything I can think of from the array side of the house to no avail. EMC states there is fix for this problem, patch 113318-12, but according to the patch notes this is for an NFS problem with Solaris 9.
The error is causing sporadic performance issues when our end users attempt to pull up the data that resides on the Celerra NFS mount, so I would really like to get it resolved. The specific error message is:
NFS server DATAMOVER1 not responding still trying
    NFS server DATAMOVER1 ok
The messages of not responding and ok tend to relate every few seconds to 3-5 minutes delay. Our database vendor insists something on the NS80 is introducing this error, but I cannot find anything to change to clear this up.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Inetconv gives error message on Solaris 10

    Hi All,
On executing the command inetconv -i /etc/inet/inetd.conf i get the following error message -
incorrect or inconsistent fields : service-name protocol.
Even after the message it generates the SMF file correctly . I am unable to understand the cause of that error message. Also the data in the inetd.conf is proper.
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Hemil

That error is produced when valid_props() in lib/libinetsvc/common/inetsvc.c returns false. It looks like you'll have to examine that code to determine the exact problem. Or you can post the offending line of inetd.conf here, or you can contact Sun Service.

There's a possibility that the cache is corrupted. Try clearing the cache and reload.

  • Solaris Express 2/07 missing icons with error message...

    HI,
I installed SE 2/07, when I try to log in remotely (using reflections or VNC) I get the following message, but some icons are missing are replaced for a generic one... weird... any help?
    Thanks!
    The message reads..
"There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.
Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.
    The last error message was:
Unable to determine the address of the message bus (try 'man dbus-launch' and 'man-daemon' for help).
GNOME will still try to restart the settings Daemon next time you log in.
Any idea hoe to fix this?

Yep. The problem seems to be that you don't have dbus running.
I did as the man page said and put this in my ~/.vnc/xstartup :
    dbus-launch gnome-session
    gnome-terminal geometry 80x24+10+10 title="My Desktop" &
And everything works without error again.

    Anyone can help me?

First you'll want to read this BC4J "HowTo" article on how our persistent collection functionality works so you can decide whether you not you really want to be using it.
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/htdocs/bc4j/bc4j_temp_tables.html
Likely you don't want to be, so this article explains how to avoid having its being used. It's typically a "last resort" feature that saves appserver memory by writing extra query results rows out to persistent storage if you query thousands of rows into memory and start scrolling around.
Down in your stack trace there is the error:
    ORA-600: [19942]
This is a database internal error related to handling CLOB's and BLOB's. I see a few bugs that were reported in versions 8.0.5 but fixed in 8.1.6.
What version of the Oracle database are you using?

A good output that would give you a hint of a problem is iostat -En
This output reports anykind of errors to a particular disk since the last reboot. If you are seeing high error numbers, then you can move onto running a file system check - fsck - on the drive.
If you have anykind of RAID setup, check to see if any issues are being reported. Depending on what you are using to manage the RAID - Veritas Volume Manager or Solaris Disk Suite - they will most certainly tell you if there is an issue. A vxprint for Veritas and a metastat for DiskSuite will show you what you have setup and if there are any recognized disk issues.

  • Error message when deploying war file to sun web server 6.1

i've been trying to deploy an application developed locally in tomcat to a local install of sun web server 6.1, and can't seem to get it to work. the error message i am getting now is:
