NTLM domain not configured

I need my Lion Server to share a folder out to about 30 PCs and Macs of various vintage and OSes.
I'm having major trouble with failures to log in from windows despite SMB being enabled in the Server App's File Sharing Pane.
The error that is ubiquitous is NTLM domain not configured.
I found a post telling me to change the NETBIOS computer name to a good token and then use that with the Windows authentication dialog like a domain name. eg, domain called "harbor", set NETBIOS to "HARBOR" and use HARBOR\steve as the log in user.
This has sort of worked, but the netbios name isn't sticking through server reboots.
Furthermore, this authentication approach seems to break. I don't know what is triggering it, but once it goes, the log I get from
sudo cat /private/var/log/krb5kdc/kdc.log
is fire with NTLM domain not configured errors from the now broken mapped network drives.
I read another post telling me to turn off AFP sharing. I'm trying that now, but "really?"
Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this? Everyone connected to this network can be trusted to have share level access, but I'm probably never going to be able to disable all authentication.

Populating the NetBios and workgroup names appears to make a difference when a Windows machine fails to log into the Mac over SMB.
I should note that some non-Windows devices that connect to the Mac over SMB may not trigger this problem: I've successfully used ES File Explorer from several Android devices to connect to the same Mac that I couldn't connect to from a Windows machine until I populated the NetBios and workgroup names.

Keeps appearing for different sites I use. First it was Facebook then Fanfiction.net and others.
It's driving me nuts. I'm fine and going about my business on either site and then I go to a new page and boom I get slapped with that "Domain not configured" message and can not access the page or any other page under that domain name.
I've cleared my cookies, history and other private data on all three of the Internet applications I use (Safari, Chome, Firefox) and I still can not access those pages on any Internet app.
I don't understand it and I'm really starting to hate wikipedia.
Any help is much appreciated. I'm running out of hair to pull.

Please read this whole message and be sure you understand all of it before doing anything. Back up all data before making changes to your settings.
Write down the server addresses.
Click Cancel to close the Advanced sheet. Unlock the preference pane, if necessary, by clicking the lock icon in the lower left corner and entering your password. Open the DNS tab again and change the server addresses to the following:
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
That's Google DNS. Click OK, then Apply.
In Safari, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data

When trying to access one website, Firefox says " This domain is not configured for this service. Please add it to your account."

That message sounds like an address might have changed on the server...
Are you trying to access the site directly using a bookmarks, or by typing into the address bar, or by following a link in a search engine? Sometimes links change making bookmarks and search engine entries obsolete, or Firefox's autofill feature suggests an address that no longer works, so if one approach doesn't work, you might try one of the others.

AP is unable to associate. The Regulatory Domain '-E' configured on interface '802.11a' does not match the Controller Regulatory Domain '-C'

There are three different types of APs associated with controller and working fine.
1.       AIR-LAP1252AG-E-K9
2.       AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9
3.       AIR-CAP1552E-C-K9
WLC is AIR-CT5508-K9. Software version is 7.4.100.0. Field Recovery Image is 7.0.112.21. Firmware version is FPGA 1.7, Env 1.8, USB console 2.2. WCS is 7.0.240.0 for Windows.
WCS is sending alarms for AIR-LAP1522AG-E-K9:
Message: AP is unable to associate. The Regulatory Domain '-E' configured on interface '802.11a' does not match the Controller Regulatory Domain '-C'.
Before Controller was 7.2.4 (not sure).
Country configured on WLC is AE and shows -CE regulatory domain. Mesh APs are also associated.
I believe this Critical alarm should not come.
how much is this alarm important? What should be done to resolve this?

Typically you still need to make sure that the country codes are indeed configured on the WLC. Thing can change when you upgrade code as standards might of changed and regulations also. If your AP's are functional, then you should be okay and I wouldn't worry too much about it, but if after the upgrade, the WLC complains about country code stuff, then you just need to verify that the AP's country code is defined on the WLC. May times the AP will not join and if it does join, the radios might be disabled or in a down status.

OSB Error in Eclipse: The JCA dependency is not configured.

Hi All,
I am trying to use db adapter in OSB and I created the adapter in jdev and imported it in Eclipse.
I have installed Weblogic,OSB and configired the domain for osb, I can login to OSB and weblogic console.
I followed these steps to get there and now the db.jca file shows errors The JCA dependency is not configured.

are there any configurations I am missing to start.

One more thing I am noticing is the wsdl created in Jdev 11.1.1.4 doesnt show the binding and port when imported in the OSB Project resources.
Is there a way we can fix this?

SCCM 2012 R2 - Distribution Point untrusted domain - Not acknowledging Network Access Account (FYI)

Scenario
Built a single primary site server in one domain with multiple distribution points. All site servers are member of this one site.
The distribution points in the primary site servers' domain function as expected. The distribution point deployed to an untrusted domain does not. The primary site server can see all objects in the domain, publishes successfully, and CCM client on the
DP in the untrusted domain knows its part of the site, knows its AD site (according to locationservices.log). The DP role is installed properly, logs are populating, queries are being made for application lists and updates. nfortuantely authentication
errors indicate that this software can'tbe downloaded.
In essence the DP in the untrusted domain can't pull down content from the primary site server. The role uses BITS to download content from IIS on the primary site server, but the requests each throw a 401 error. Unauthorised. This should be an easy fix.
Create a Network Access Account in the primary site server's domain, assign it to the site (Software Distribution setting), wait for the DP to pick up the setting and watch it retrieve its content. The DP in the untrusted domain is configured as a Pull DP,
implying it has to use a Network Access Account to download content. It knows the content is available and makes every effort to download it.
Problem
The DP in the untrusted domain doesn't know a Network Access Account (NAA) has been defined for the site.
The account does exist, created in the primary site server's domain and assigned to the site. Its not a password issue. IIS has not been set for Anonymous access as this isn't needed - the NAA should provide the credentials it requires to pull down content.
A manual check using the URL of the package confirms the package is accessible from the DP when using the NAA's credentials. I've allowed enough time (i think) for the DP to acknowledge the NAA. For fun the DP role was removed, and the CCM agent removed. Both
were reinstalled. A fresh install didn't detect the NAA.
Solution
After some soul searching and a little frustration, it came down to this: A Pull DP always uses the Network Access Account. If the DP can't find a Network Access account it will fail to pull down content. This is undisputed. Found an article that states
the Pull DP always uses the CCM client configuration to do its dirty work. At that point the CCM client was checked. It had the classic problem of only displaying two Actions - Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle, User policy Retrieval & Evaluation
Cycle. Most components were installed but not enabled. This is fairly common. Looked at the console, found the device, added the Approval column. Turns out it wasn't auto-approved. Reason being that the client is in an untrusted domain and clients in untrusted
domains aren't approved automatically (by default).
In this case something as simple as an Approving the client fixed these issues.
The DataTransferService.log highlights the issue:

Based on the above, you are using a PullDP. If so, have you installed the client agent on this system? The client agent is required on PullDPs in untrusted domains so that they can acquire the NAA.

"Error [10151] The LCP Port on CCM Admin for Mobile Agent is not Configured or misconfigured"

We are running into a problem which we have noticed on UCCE 8.5 and havent seen on earlier 7.5 release.
If we setup a CTI port as agent device target and if we try to login the agent using Cisco Desktop (Not CAD, just CTI OS Client) then we get following error:
"Error [10151] The LCP Port on CCM Admin for Mobile Agent is not Configured or misconfigured"
But this wasnt the issue with 7.5 and we were able to do agent login with CTI Port as device target. We dont intend to use Mobile Agent feature but just login UCCE agent to CTI port as the device.
Do we know if this is a known issue or if something has changed between 7.x and 8.x release which could be is causing this?

So you can ping and nslookup from your ms to these agents and vice versa right? I wouldn't do a manual install, I would push the agent from the management server. You can uninstall the agent manually, or use cleanmom to get rid of them. Then
do an install from the console. When you initiate the install from the console (management server), should it run into any issues it will dump out an error which will give you an idea of where the problem may be.

Sharepoint 2013 : Server was unable to process request. --- Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication.

In our java web application trying establish the connection for sharePoint 2013
using Windows claims authentication (NTLM ), I am getting error message "Server was unable to process request. ---> Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication". But In the Sharepoint 2013 our Site is is configured for Windows
claims only.
In the Sharepoint 2013 server in the IIS manager settings for authentication it is enabled for both Windows claims and Forms authentication,
but if I disable Forms authentication that I will be able to connect it through my application but with the direct access i.e., by running the URL in the browser I am not able to connect getting error message "sorry this site has not been shared with
you" in the browser Kindly help me on this.

This issue is always caused that you had missed FBA configuration in web config of your web application.
You can configure the FBA authentication then check whether it works.

You'll be getting this in your case update (answer in response to the internal conversation we've been having about your issue)
So if they really want to control wildcard searches then they should look in the "personalstore.properties" file for the domain (default: /var/opt/SUNWuwc/WEB-INF/domain/personalstore.properties) for the value of "db.idir.wildcardsearch". Its possible settings are documented in the comments. If they wish to disable all "*" and "*x*" searches (i.e. turn off the 'All' and selecting a letter options) they should set the value to at least 2.

But i am getting this exception ---> Site is not configured for Claims Forms Authentication
I checked ULS long and there it is --> Not in claims forms auth for url 'https://domain/sitecollection/'.

Failed login- domain not found/plaintext user not found

We are using Portal Server 6.2 and Messaging Server 6.2.
We suddenly started to have problem with imap service. We did not make any configuration changes on the messaging server.
These are the errors from the imap log file. Http log file displays the same errors.

Yes, we did fresh/clean directory server installation. We use the SampleMailService that comes with the JES. We used DSAME to create the users.
As for the DNS changes, I am not able to provide the information but I will get it.

Smf / sometimes does not configure network interfaces in single-user mode?

When booting into single user mode, I often get a message
on the console
t_optmgmt: System error: Cannot assign requested addressand only the loopback interface is configured (lo0 inet, and lo0 inet6).
The system's dnet0 interface is not plumbed any more. Configuration
for the dnet0 network interface is via a static ip address; hostname
in /etc/hostname.dnet0, and and ip v4 address for that hostname in
/etc/hosts. This was a Solaris 10 x86 system, but the same problem
has also been observed on Solaris 10 sparc, and the hme0
interface.
svcs -x in single-user mode reports no problems.
Changing to multi-user mode by typing Ctrl-D still does not
configure the real network interface.
One thing that I've noticed is that smf's log file
/etc/svc/volatile/network-physical:default.log
is missing, when the nic interface was not configured.
It seems that the problem with unconfigured network interfaces
does not happen when I boot directly into multi-user mode.

still domain name has't been set, i just wrote this, can anyone tell me how to find the domain name or create one. also the name server is just a fake, but how to find one. If i will be connecting my laptop to various IP whereever i go, so do i need to configure network setting again and again ? isn't there any auto network configuration so that i can connect internet where ever i go and let the system auto configure network settings like in windows XP auto IP configuration detect.

so all these things i did and found by seeing the forum guidelines. I can see the network connection has receivinh and sent packets seems to be working but can't browse internet, also can't ping a website.
if anyone had the same problem but found the answer than kindly let me know. I am new to solaris but i am trying my best.

"Services Registry not configured" popup when trying to search SR

Dear Fellow VC 7.1 users,
When I try to use the search function on the services registry in VC for CE 7.1 EHP1 SP3, I get the "Services Registry Wizard" popup telling me that "Services Registry not configured." The original configuration was not done by me, so I cannot say whether or not it was done with the configuration wizards, but I can tell you what I have done to try to resolve the problem.
I have: configured the UDDI server; configured the Central Services Registry (ServicesRegistrySi), and ensured that the user the ServicesRegistrySiPort authenticates with has the roles SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE and UDDI_TierN. I do not have an SLD configured in my CE 7.1 EhP1 environment, so I tried to follow the steps I found in an SDN how-to PDF doc that explained how to generate an SLD ID from the WSNavigator, but I was unable to do so because as soon as I clicked the "Service Registry" checkbox in WSNavigator, it threw an error message saying, "Cannot connect to Services Registry; check ServicesRegistrySi proxy definition settings."
What am I missing here? Any suggestions (or even hints) would be welcome.

Thank you, Hezi, for your personalized attention. One month, a couple of WebEx sessions with Hezi, and one glacially slow customer message later, the problem is finally resolved!
Here's a recap of the resolution:
1. Through the WebEx sessions with Hezi, we determined that the problem was in the UDDI server setup, not in Visual Composer.
2. I Opened a customer message and got hooked up with my new best buddy, Hristo (in SAP Bulgaria?). Hristo logged into our CE 7.1 system using WTS (Windows Terminal Services) Over the course of a couple of weeks and several WTS sessions, Hristo found that the standard, recommended ServicesRegistrySIPort End Point URL did not work in our system (for an unexplained reason). Hristo gave me the following incomprehensible URL to use instead:

3. That got us past the "services registry not configured" error in VC, but a service registry search in VC found no services. In addition, we were now not able to publish any new web services in the registry.
4. The next problem Hristo found was in the UDDI_DESTINATION and CLASSIFICATION_DESTINATION URLs. Ours were set up to look at SAP's public registry. I set them up according to the how-to documents I found on SDN. That got us past the "can't contact server" message to a new "web proxy authentication" error when trying to publish a service.
5. The first problem with the publishing was the need to use fully qualified domain names in the WSDL URL. At first I used just "hemxintf-p" but I really needed to use "hemxintf-p.he.ad.igt.com".
6. The second problem here turned out to be a mistake on my part when setting up the exclude list on the HTTP Proxy setup in NWA. The exclude list tells the system NOT to use the HTTP proxy when contacting certain (presumably internal) domains. I had used commas to separate the domains in the exclude list; as it turns out, you must use the vertical bar character as the separator.
After all this, along with frustration bordering on desparation, I can now publish web services in the SR, browse and test them in WSNavigator, and search for and use them in Visual Composer. I hope that my detailed description of the resolution in my case might save others from suffering similar frustration. Thank you, Hezi. Thank you, Hristo. Thank you, God! SDPMessaging Driver not configured;

While trying to test the email notification, we are getting the following error. We tested the SMTP gateway access using telenet and using mail frfom and mail to command the email is reaching the intended recipients. We have set the email driver properties, sender address, default sender address, outgoing default from address has been given. I have given the incoming mails ids and user names as blank. Even if i give a sample value in that also it is not working
PLease let us know the reason for this error. Also the workflow notification is also set to email.

This issue is due to a miss-configuration/miss-interpretation of the Sender Addresses on the Common Configuration of the E-mail Driver.
The purpose of this property is to configure a specific list of SenderAddresses (like a filter of email addresses), so if the e-mail you are trying to reach is not in this list the message sent by the application will find a non-matching Sender Address thus giving the error message.
RESOLUTION:
1. If you are not using a list of specific address, delete any entries of this field and restart the server.
2. If you are using a list then make sure the list follows the syntax: EMAIL:[email protected], EMAIL:[email protected] Make the necessary adjustments
and restart the server.

"Time machine not configured" & Can't reset to factory setting.

Once I removed the Time capsule from my List to back up again. But after removing when i connect the time capsule, the amber light keep on flashing and i can't set up the Time capsule. Although i get it in the wifi network. ( I attached the Pic marked Majmadar's Wifi Network ). Now when i click on the icon of time capsule it shows " Time machine not configured ". Even when i open the time machine preferences i don't see My time Capsule in my list. Please help me to
solve my problem. Thanks in advance.

Start over and redo the setup from a manual factory reset.. do NOT use names like you have now.. this is problematic on Yosemite..

Factory reset universal
Power off the TC.. ie pull the power cord or power off at the wall.. wait 10sec.. hold in the reset button.. be gentle.. power on again still holding in reset.. and keep holding it in for another 10sec. You may need some help as it is hard to both hold in reset and apply power. It will show success by rapidly blinking the front led. Release the reset.. and wait a couple of min for the TC to reset and come back with factory settings. If the front LED doesn’t blink rapidly you missed it and simply try again. The reset is fairly fragile in these.. press it so you feel it just click and no more.. I have seen people bend the lever or even break it. I use a toothpick as tool.
N.B. None of your files on the hard disk of the TC are deleted.. this simply clears out the router settings of the TC.
Setup the TC again.
ie Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the hard disk doing this.
Then redo the setup from the computer with Yosemite.
1. Use very short names.. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED names. No spaces and pure alphanumerics.
eg TCgen5 and TCwifi for basestation and wireless respectively.
Even better if the issue is more wireless use TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as this also seems to help stop the nonsense. But this can be tried in the second round.
2. Use all passwords that also comply but can be a bit longer. ie 8-20 characters mixed case and numbers.. no non-alphanumerics.
3. Ensure the TC always takes the same IP address.. you will need to do this on the main router using dhcp reservation.. or a bit more complex setup using static IP in the TC. But this is important.. having IP drift all over the place when Yosemite cannot remember its own name for 5 min after a reboot makes for poor networking. If the TC is main router it will not be an issue.
4. Check your share name on the computer is not changing.. make sure it also complies with the above.. short no spaces and pure alphanumeric.. but this change will mess up your TM backup.. so be prepared to do a new full backup. Sorry.. keep this one for second round if you want to avoid a new backup.
5. Mount the TC disk in the computer manually.
In Finder, Go, Connect to server from the top menu,
Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever the TC ip is which you have now made static. As a router by default it is 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with that unless you know what you are doing).
You can use name.. SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your TC name.. local is the default domain of the TC and doesn't change.
However names are not so easy as IP address.. nor as reliable. At least not in Yosemite they aren't. The domain can also be an issue if you are not plugged or wireless directly to the TC.
6. Make sure IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open the network preferences, wireless and advanced / TCP/IP.. and fix the IPv6. to link-local only.
There is a lot more jiggery pokery you can try but the above is a good start.. if you find it still unreliable.. don't be surprised.
You might need to do some more work on the laptop itself. eg Reset the PRAM.. has helped some people. Clean install of the OS is also helpful if you upgrade installed.
