Number for country + phone number

I am not sure I entered the correct "number for country' when I opened my account. Also, I used my phone number. Should I have entered the number of my ipad? Please answer asap. thank you.

I hear you. I put a "1", & it won't accept that. Just keeps coming back w/ "Please specify a valid mobile phone number". I tried to put a "+" in front of the "1", but it won't take that @ all...

  • Use custom field for work phone number in CUCiLync

    Hi,
I have searched and tried out all sorts of different settings for enabling/changing the way CUCiLync searches the Active Directory (AD) for contact phone numbers.
But no matter what setting I use in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData and/or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory hive, CUCiLync still uses the default for Work phone number. The default for this is to use telephoneNumber, the value that I wish to use is the ipPhone field.
The registry values that I have tested so far are these.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData
    LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
    LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
All set to ipPhone, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory
    BusinessPhone
    PreferredNumber
    DisableSecondaryNumberLookups
First two set to ipPhone and the third set to 0, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains  the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
The above values comes from these two urls,
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/8_5/english/installguide/config_active_directory.html#wp1141403
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/8_5/english/installguide/config_active_directory.html#wp1137551
    The later url have this
    Table 3-9 LDAP Registry Subkeys
    Subkey   Names
    Description
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
Specify   the phone number that you use to resolve most LDAP queries. This value must   match one of the values specified for the following LDAP keys:
    •LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_homePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_mobilePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
The   values that are valid for the LDAP attribute keys listed above are:
    •telephoneNumber
    •homePhone
    •mobilePhone
    •otherTelephone
•a   custom LDAP attribute value, for example, myCustomPhoneNumber
The   value of the LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches key must match   one of the values in the list above, for example, telephoneNumber. Otherwise,   the value of the LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone key is used.
The version of CUCiLync is 8.5(3)-4.5.9, that is the latest I can find on the support download page, have also tried with earlier version 8.5.(1).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to achieve this, if at all possible?
    Roger Kallberg

This is the reply we got from TAC.
Regarding to your query, Can you please go through the attached flow diagram (also you can see it in the link given below). I hope it will clarify more on the telephone number display behavior in office communicator.
As per this flow chart presently your setup is working as designed. As per the design, the number should be in E.164 format in order to be available in MOC.
You have AD in your network as a source, so  OCS pulls this information from LDAP it is integrated with. As per Microsoft, here you need to add Normalization rules to OCS to normalize the number into the E164 format.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb964002%28office.12%29.aspx
Phone number display for MOC contact:
•-          OCS will not provide a contacts number unless it is correctly formatted to the E.164 standard.
•-          The Address Book Service on OCS processes the contacts phone number and attempts to normalize it.
•-          If correctly normalized then the number is inserted into the OCS address book.
•-          Communicator will only display this normalized number if it is properly formatted in E.164 (+13125551234).
•-          The E.164 standard defines an international numbering plan for public phone systems.
•-          In the E.164 standard, each number contains a country code, an area code, and a subscriber number.
•-          Each phone user has a globally unique number.
•-          In Cisco UC Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator, phone numbers in E.164 format must begin with a plus character ("+").
I have done some research to your first question. Can you please just go through the blog given below from the Microsoft.
    http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/schertz_jeff/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=26.
It tells that If the numbers not in E.164 format then the number will not appear in office communicator if LDAP integrated. Can you please check with Microsoft to see their inputs on this.

hi, my iPhone is already completely updated and I want my iMessages to go to my phone number, however my phone number shows up on the settings screen for that, but will not let me select it to be used. How do I fix that?

Thanks to all who responded. You are all absolutely correct. However, this Ipad was a gift to my wife who was dying of cancer in the hospital and wanted some entertainment. So I started it out with her Apple ID. After she passed away I moved from Sacramento to Austin and eventually proceeded to get the Apple ID changed from my wife's to mine. Meanwhile when she was in the hospital I opened an Itunes account in my name to buy movies for her. That was the first mistake.
Then during the move to Austin I lost track of the IPAD and later found it and tried to use support but could not remember the proper ID. Later the folks at the Apple store helped me create a new and novel Apple ID that was unfortunately unlike any other.
The botom line is that I am stuck with three Apple IDs and three passwords. I am told by Apple there is nothing they can do about this as IDs cannot be changed or destroyed. I can quit using them or start a new account but when I try to do that the system keeps remembering too many things from the past and resists.
Even if I sold this Ipad and bought a new one, the system memory is still there.
I think the real problem is that destop and laptop computers are totally owned by an individual and that individual can control logins and passwords to his liking. IPADs and similar Apple products are different in that the corporation has built in their own intrusion detection schemes because of the relation to Itunes.
One thing I thought about is to open a new Itunes account pretendding to be a new customer with my regular Apple ID. Perhaps I could do the same with Apple Support.
    Thanks for your comments.

  • Contacts seem to have broken into individual entries for email, phone number, address. How can I fix this?

My contacts have been split into individual entries for each part of the contact. There is now an entry for the phone number, each email address, and address of each contact that I have. I have never seen this before and would like to know if there is any way to combine them back into one. Thank you

    Hey FionaB90,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your phone number has been unlinked from your Apple ID. To relink your phone number, we'll need to troubleshoot on your iPhone (not the iPad).
The following article provides information about linking your phone number to your Apple ID. Once linked, simply sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on your iPad, then sign back in.

Please enter at most 3 letters or numbers.  Two letters is fine with that instruction.

  • How do i get the serial number for my phone if I do not have it?

How do I get the serial number for my phone that has been stolen?

From the box it came in.
From iTunes if you backed it up to iTunes.
    From the receipt.
From the retailer if they have those records.
You can get the IMEI number from your carrier, which is linked to your serial number.

when i send a text in iMessage the person receiving it gets it from my email address... how do i change that. and in message settings the receiving thing has my email and phone number but my phone number is gray and i can't click on it help

    Hello Todd:
I had this very same problem when trying to activate iMessage and Facetime on my iPad. When I signed into my account, I actually wasn't even presented with the option of a phone number - notwithstanding the fact that I was contacting others (and being reached by others) by my phone number on my iPhone. Having both the iPad and the iPhone on, I kept trying to turn off and on both iMessage and Facebook in Settings on both my iPad and iPhone, hoping that that they would eventually sync. But this proposed solution by others was unsuccessful for me.
Then, I found out what the problem was: When my iPhone was activated, it automatically registered my phone number for contact purposes. I was using iMessage on my iPhone for quite some time without actually being signed into my Apple ID account. When another device - such as an iPad or iPod - is being used for iMessage or Facebook, you are prompted to sign into your Apple account, using your username and password. These two devices will not register your phone number as an option for contact unless your iPhone is signed into your Apple account as well. In other words: your phone number will not be synced.
Go into your "Settings" on your iPhone and click on "Messages". Scroll down and click on "Send & Receive" (which should be followed by your phone number). On the next page, you will be able to determine whether or not your iPhone is using the Apple ID for messaging purposes. (Note: This information applies for Facetime as well.) If it is using your Apple ID for messaging, than at the top, you will see "Apple ID: <your particular e-mail account>" in Blue text. However, if you are not using your Apple ID for messaging, than you will see the words: "Use your Apple ID for message". Even though below this you will see your phone number checked as the contact source, you will want to click the tab that says, "Use your Apple ID for message". Sign into your account (just as you must sign in for iMessage on your other devices), and just choose your phone number as the "Send & Receive" contact. (The option of the e-mail will be there too, but you don't have to check it. And later on, you can delete it as an option.)
Now that all of your devices are signed in using your Apple ID, the other devices should register your phone number as a choice. It may take a little while, however. What I did was sign out of iMessage on my iPad, and then sign in again. If the option didn't appear, I just went back and signed in again, and kept doing this until the option for the phone number appeared.
Again, this will work for Facetime as well. The solution is to sync your iPhone account with the other devices by using your Apple ID for messaging (and Facetime) purposes.
I hope that this works for you, Todd!   ~ Brian

Skype does not provide a telephone call center facility.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal, which is where you will need to start: Contact Customer Service
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely match the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started.

  • Paid $60 - for a phone number rather than a subscr...

Hi, first a quick rant: I'm an EXTREMELY frustrated new user. I have spent the last hour trying to figure out what I just purchased and what I can do to get an explaination, but whoever created this website did so without a new user in mind.
Quickly: I need help trying to determine what I just purchased and what to do from here.
As Quickly as I can explain what's going on: My friend in Croatia told me he spent $60 for unlimited calling. He can apparently call anywhere to phones - as we made several calls to landlines in both the states and england from his computer. We've since left his place.
As I'm traveling to many countries, I figured this was a great idea, I'll pay up front instead of purchasing credits.
I whipped out my credit card and paid $60 after chosing a number. After about an hour, the transaction cleared on my account with a renewal in 12 months. I went to make a call and it said I didn't have enough credit. After trying to figure out what happened all I can determine is that I might have paid for the use of a phone number for 12 months and not a subscription.
Now of course after trying for several hours trying to find out how to contact Microsoft or Skype - or Whatever help center - for the past hour and finding they deflect all help to their help pages that comes nowhere NEAR helping me or explaining what has happened - and if I made a mistake how to correct it. I apparently need to spend more money for a premium account to get actual advice or any kind of resolution.
Any company that takes money and expects a new user just to GET it, without providing some human interaction is a horrid company.
So I paid for something I didn't want and can't use. I THINK. But I can't request a refund or help because I haven't paid for a premium account.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks so much; I realize you're probably just a user of the service like myself.

I am having the same issue... Except I'm not a new user.
I've had a subscription for many years and this month I lapsed because of a new credit card number. After a few days I went in to resubscribe and everything went smoothly... or so I thought.
I paid $60 bucks for a 12 month subcription and everything seemed to go through... I got charged and I got a confirmation e-mail. Now, here's the rub. Whenever I make a call a message pops up that says "Your call is about to end. You are low on credits." WHAT?!?
I just paid $60 bucks! So, having never had a problem before I procceded to the website to look at my account and possibly send an e-mail to someone that could help me. No dice.
This website needs to provide some sort of support for their users... In fact this is the only post I could find on this subject and, unfortunately, it didn't help me at all. It just showed me that at least one other person has had this problem. When replying to this post a small box opened up, talking about how to fix payment problems. When I followed those links, it lead me to a page that basically said "If your subscription isn't working, it's your fault." WTF! Seriously?!?!
How do we fix this issue?

It is required under Section 212 of the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act of 1996. The SBREFA '96 required portability in the largest 100 Metropolitan statistical areas. Then in 2003, the requirement was expanded to ALL carriers regardless of geographical location.
In order for a number to be ported, roughly speaking you must live in the area code's geography. So, you can't port a New York number to Iowa.
If you have a problem porting your phone number from one service provider to another, first try to resolve it with the service provider. If you cannot resolve the problem directly, you can file a complaint with the FCC. There is no charge for filing a complaint. You can file your complaint using an FCC online complaint form.
