Number of connections expiry problem - URGENT

Hi all,
We are using Adaptive RFC model to connect to R/3 and call BAPIs. All the applications use a single JCO connection (which we create in content admin->webdynpro) to connect to R/3.
<b>We were getting "<u>max no of 100 conversations</u> exceeded" exception with the JCO.</b>
Here's the exact exception :-
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to SAP gateway failed Connect_PM  GWHOST=149.183.181.210, GWSERV=3318, ASHOST=149.183.181.210, SYSNR=18 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host ERROR       max no of 100 conversations exceeded TIME        Wed Dec 21 22:43:55 2005 RELEASE     640 COMPONENT   CPIC (TCP/IP) VERSION     3 RC          466 MODULE      r3cpic.c LINE        9704 COUNTER     3
Here is the code which we are using to connect and disconnect to R/3</b> :-
IWDJCOClientConnection     connection =                    WDSystemLandscape.getJCOClientConnection(
                    "PROD_MODELDATA_RFC",
        JCO.Client client = connection.getClient()
        <modelobj>.setJcoClient(client);
        <code to execut the BAPI>
        JCO.releaseClient(client);
     connection.release();
All the applications use the same JCO and the same code (as mentioned above) to connect and disconnect.
Even now we are getting the same exception with the JCO and thus no data is returned and no application works.
<b>I have checked in R/3, <u>the connections are getting created, but not getting closed</u>.</b>
<b>So, now my question is, am I using the right API to connect and disconnect??</b>
Please help me in this. This is very urgent.
Regards,
Narahari

Hi all,
Yes. Like Valery has pointed out, if i try to use JCO.Client.disconnect(), it throws the following exception:-
  com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (106) JCO_ERROR_RESOURCE: A client allocated from pool PROD_MODELDATA_RFC_sunih1_EN_useDefinedUser cannot be disconnected directly. Please, use JCO.releaseClient(JCO.Client) instead.
So can I use the following lines:-
          JCO.releaseClient(client);
          connection.release();
     if (client.isAlive()){
                    client.disconnect();

  • Problem with reached maximum number of connections to database

    Dear Experts,
    Our Production system was not responding properly last week.
    The below was the reply from the Basis team.
    "It seems that we have again problem with reached maximum number of connections to database. We have extended this number to 100 this year and now it seems that it’s not enough again. It seems that something is running on Production, which takes over too many connections."
    They have increased the number to 200 as a work around.
    Do we have any means to find out, which component or application is causing the issue.
    Please advise me if any better way is available to correct the issue.

  • Maximum number of connections in use. Close an act...

    Hi everyone.
    I try to connect my N95 to internet, using "One Touch Access" and USB. It used to be working ages ago! but now, it is impossible. it gets connected with the phone, but when i want to open a web page, it say "maximum number of connections in use. Close an active connection first", and forces me to close my Modem connection, and everything gets disconnected...
    what should i do????
    help please...

  • Maximum number of connections in use?! -E71

    Hi, I have this problem when I try to connect to the internet through any program. Before you rush to reply, I WANT to have multiple programs using the internet at the same time. I find it completely idiotic having to close Nokia Messaging to open my web browser. I want to be able to run Nimbuzz while running Nokia Messaging (example). Funny thing is, if I select OK when it asks me to close a connection, and then just cancel, everything works ok!! Well, for a while, and then the message pops up again.
    Come on Nokia, it's just a simple solution, how hard can it be?
    PS. Using E71 with the latest firmware (200)

    You can use multiple applications using the internet at any time but ONLY one access point can be in use.
    you cant be connected with more then one access point therefore if the different applications is set up to use different access points then you will have the maximum number of connection issues.
    Just like the Computer if you are connected to the internet and you connect your phone as a modem the connection from your phone will overwrite the connection and be the default connection.
    You may change the settings in the individual applications in the options > settings (may vary from applications)
    Mark me a KUDOS if this has helped...

  • Nokia N8-00 'maximum number of connections in use'

    Hi,
    I have creted another APN in the Destinations-Internet settings. Put this APN on priority 1. Then I se internet an it is ok. But when I open Nokia Maps or another App. Sometimes it tries to connect to the old APN then says 'maximum number of connections in use'. Asking me for confirmation to close one connection.
    So I move all APN's and Wireless connections out of the Destination Internet. Except for the new on that I want. Still the same message From time to time. How to stop thi message. Deleting an APN is not a solution I am looking for otherwise I would have done that.
    Any help is appreciated.

    So the on off method I posted earlier did not work. The first APN is still tring to be accessed by some apps after the phone is switched off and on again. The other things I tried..
    - Removed the APN restriction and renamed the first APN. When I start the APP it now gives me a warning and lets me choose the APN. I choose the second one so greate. Close the APP. Now when I rename the fisr APN to the original name. APPS try to access it again and I get that original error.
    The only thing I could do is configure the first APN name with the actual Access Point of the second APN. This worked All apps are accessing the first APN whaich was reconfigured to look like the new Second APN.
    This is not a solution again it is a workaround. Does anyone-else have this problem. Or am I the only one who is configuring multiple APNs. Since my provider has multiple APNs.
    I would have thought that this phone supports Multiple PDP contexts, or Secondary PDP context. It was defined in the initial 3GPP specs way back in 2003ish. Nokia can you confirm???
    Cheers Peps!

  • Number of connections in a JDBC pool

    Hi,
    I am running Sun One Webserver 6.1SP4 on Solaris 8 on sparc machines. My web app interacts with Oracle 9.2 using the web server's jdbc pooling mechanism. Everything works fine, but what worries me is the number of connections always goes up even during nights when the traffic is considerably low compared to day time. Here is part of my server.xml relevant to the pool.
    <JDBCCONNECTIONPOOL name="spfc-dbp1" datasourceclassname="oracle.jdbc.pool.OracleDataSource" steadypoolsize="8" maxpoo
    lsize="80" poolresizequantity="8" idletimeout="300" maxwaittime="10000" connectionvalidationrequired="on" connectionvalidati
    onmethod="auto-commit" validationtablename="" failallconnections="off" transactionisolationlevel="read-committed" isolationl
    evelguaranteed="on">
    I checked all my code to make sure I am calling close() on result sets, statements and the connection itself both immediately after completing work as well as in the finally blocks.
    The only mechanism I have to bring down the number of connections is to restart the web server. I played around with the poolresizequantity, idletimeout properties, but it didn't help much.
    I thank all of you in advance for any insights.
    -Sharma

    Hi Sharma,
    I have a similar problem.
    Starting my portal and it works for about ten minutes. Then it is unreachable, because of an ProfileException error. I guess it is too many DB Connections.
    I can do 2 things:
    - wait for about 20minutes and it works again for ten minutes, or
    - restart tomcat.
    Currently I am setting up a new Connection Pool, Jdbc2Pool.
    Did you find a solution to your problem?
    Ciao,
    Axel

    Hi all,
    Hope you all are doing good.
    there is one query,
    Does the number of connections to apex depends on database memory ???
    Is there any limitation on number of connections at the same time ?
    i have one application,
    APEX 4.1
    DB 11.2.0.2
    when it was launched.., people tried to login and as soon as they logged in the poratl/application went down. had to bounce the DB to get it back.
    was clueless on what would be the reason for this behavior.
    how do i make sure this would not occur again..,

    Hi Dietmar,
    i have the same assumption, but the problem here the user is facing is, they have used some java scripts to upload the excel sheet and when uploading it the apex portal goes down.
    they are still testing it, expected user to login is around 600 at the same time.

  • Unable to connect DI API-----urgent

    Hi experts,
    i am using SAP 2007B. When i am trying to connect the xlreporter i am getting the message that
    UNABLE TO CONNECT DI API SERVER TYPE MISMATCH
    Please help me out to solve this problem urgently
    thanks in advance
    regards
    Ashish gupte

    Hi Ashish
    As of version 2007 you must specify the server type for the DI API. Here is a sample:
    Dim vCmp As SAPbobsCOM.Company
    Dim lRetCode, lErrCode As Long
    Dim sErrMsg As String
    Set vCmp = New SAPbobsCOM.Company
    vCmp.Server = "(local)"
    vCmp.CompanyDB = "MYDATABASE"
    vCmp.UserName = "manager"
    vCmp.Password = "manager"
    vCmp.DbUserName = "sa"
    vCmp.DbPassword = "xxxxxxx"
    vCmp.DbServerType = dst_MSSQL2005
    vCmp.UseTrusted = False
    lRetCode = vCmp.Connect
    If lRetCode <> 0 Then
                vCmp.GetLastError lErrCode, sErrMsg
    End If
    Note the line for DbServerType.
    Kind regards

  • Thread number per connection crash 4.16

    We are using a program in a loop, we add 500 entry in 2 minutes. If the
    thread number per connection is set to 5 or 10, the Netscape Directory
    Server 4.16 got disorderly shutdown and dump a core. If we set this as 1,
    the server works fine.
    Could you please tell me what is the problem? Is this version not reliable?
    Thanks,

    Could you please tell me what is the problem? Is this version not reliable?What does it say in your error log? Is the number of threads per connection times the number of connections greater than the
    threadnumber? Are you sure you have tuned your kernel parameters to allow a large number of threads per process and per kernel?

  • MY NUMBER DOUBLE CONNECTED ON VIRGIN & BT AT SAME ...

    I ported my number from Virgin and I have been calling BT India many times and they keep making me do random tests, wasting hours of my time, then at the end of it all telling me they cannot fix the problem. Each time I have to explain the problem which is a mission in itself and they just keep telling me I am connected and there are no problems!
     The problem is:-
    I ported my number from Virgin to BT. As it stands the number is active on both Virgin and BT and I can make outgoing calls on both. Incoming calls are going to Virgin or BT. So effectively I am paying for both! I’ve contacted Virgin and they are saying they have released the number; BT is saying the number port has gone through without any issues.
    When I call BT India, it takes an absolute age to explain, then to add insult to injury they tell me the line is connected without problems. So having called 150 from the BT landline I ask them to make a call to my number while I’m on the phone, when they do and it connects to the Virgin phone. Then I hold the BT phone against the Virgin handset and let them listen to BT ‘hold’ music! Then they believe me!
    Can anyone help with my problem?

    If you still have dial tone on your VM socket and your Openreach socket, dial 17070 from both and see if they both report the same number, if they do, then call your landline number from a mobile, or mobiles if you can if they are on different networks and see which socket 'rings' the VM one of the OR one..also if possible call your landline from another landline , if any of the calls make the BT/OR socket ring, then BT have imported your number, but if any ring the VM socket ring, then the port has not been done correctly by VM but unless you can call VM and speak to someone about it, you will probably have to get BT to raise a fault report, to get VM to check they have done the number port correctly

  • FMS2 core dies after a number of connections

    Howdy folks
    My company developed a flash video chat (adult related)
    application. We have intensively tested the application without
    problems on the developer edition of FMS and afterwards we decided
    to buy a license. We have configured the license on the
    1000/40/unlimited and fired the site up. But here's the problem.
    After a certain number of connections (we counted at about 40
    simultaneous streaming sessions plus let's say an average of 2
    guests per each stream) the core goes off and dies, therefore not
    loading the video anymore. Each time this happends we need to
    restart the FMS and it's working fine for another period of time.
    The system FMS2 is running on is a Dual Intel Xeon 3.2 Ghz with 4
    GB of RAM. The processors are running at about 30 - 40% of their
    capacity right before the core goes down.
    Anyone else had any similar experience and if yes what was
    the solution? Any help is greatly apreciated. Looking forward to
    hear from the community.
    Warm Regards
    Andy

    We had the same problem: video freeze, etc... and it was
    related to the fact that we were running Web Server and FMS on a
    single server. It was not the only source of problem : we converted
    video/audio file with ffmepg on the fly and it was the thing that
    kill our FMS process. We now use several server and everything look
    fine....
    The best thing to do will be to split your server task(web,
    FMS and other) among several server and in this case they don't
    need to be incredible beast!
    Hey anonymous
    Thanks for the feedback. I've been adviced by so many persons
    in so many ways but based on flv streaming scenarios. I do not do
    that. I am in to a many-to-many scenario where the application
    instances (sources of stream) come and goes dinamicaly. I get their
    webcams and stream them to any potential viewers.
    In the flv streaming case the fix for this issue is simple. I
    set the <Scope> to inst and define RollOver and MaxCores
    values and i have no stress since the cores will be replacing each
    other at the defined period of time.
    But in my case (many-to-many) i cant run the fms with the
    Scope inst but only as app.
    Anyway .. i do hope(think) that separing FMS will solve this
    issue.

    To combat the issue, enable an HLB port on your FE servers (or any other pool you are using HLB on) and configure the health checks for the load balancer to use that port instead of the port used for TLS traffic.
    Start by configuring the pool in Topology Builder, right click the pool, and choose Edit Properties>General.  Place a check in the “Enable Hardware Load Balancer monitoring port” and specify a port.
