Number stored as text

Hi~
when write a table to MS Excel, the number all stored as text as you can see green flag on left top corner of each cell, this is cause the fomula in upper cell un-workable.
the code that used to write excel as below:
have you even seen this before? pls advice, thx!

Hi ELI,
but in this way we waste much time to write excel, bcs the table was written to cell one by one.
Nobody mentioned to write cell by cell. You still can write full columns or even 2d arrays of data - you just have to separate strings from numbers!
can we solve this error in LabVIEW? with activeX..
There is no error in LabVIEW. And there is no error in Excel. It's an error in your programming!
By now you got two different solutions presented, how much more do you need?
I thought you learned a lesson by now. But you still feed us with breadcrumbs of information with each of your posts: Now you bring the execution time into play…

  • How to convert a number stored as text to as integer with formating

    Hi,
    Can someone say me how to convert a Numeric data that is stored in a Varchar column to an integer.
    Say, I have a Value "-.84566666" in a column which is of data type VARCHAR and I want to show this data as "-0.8456", i.e. I want to display it as an Interger after formating it to have only 4 decimal place value etc.
    Is there any inbuilt function in oracle for this?
    Thanks,

    Take a look at builtin TO_NUMBER / TO_CHAR functions.
    SELECT TO_CHAR(TO_NUMBER('-.84566666'), 'SD9999')
      FROM dual;C.

  • Number stored as text (in jsp report with excel output)

    Hi
    I created a jsp report for excel output. I see that the numbers are left aligned with a green traingle on the top of each cell. Was just wondering how can I resolve this and have my numbers displayed as numbers - right aligned and with no green triangle. Is there some setting I have to make explicitly so that numbers appear as numbers in excel output?
    Thx!

  • List of material number with PO text from material master

    I want to get a list of materials number with PO text from material master. Can anybody help ?

    The purchase order texts maintained in the material master are stored
    as SAPScript text files in tables STXH (header) and STXL (lines). For
    material master records:
    Field TDOBJECT = 'MATERIAL'
    Field TDNAME = material number (MARA-MATNR).
    So you should be able to write a small report to extract the data.

  • "Numbers stored as text" error in Excel when I schedule a report

    Dear all,
    When I schedule a report, I got a "Numbers stored as text" error in Excel.
    But when I save as xls directly from webI, I have no error in the excel sheet.
    So, is it a bug ? I have the BO XI 4.0 version.
    Or is there a special option to set concerning schedule ?
    Mike.

    Hi,
    First check the object data type in webi. Normally this error will come when  object/variable data type is Text in the report.
    If you are getting this error with object data type number then  add 0 in the object and see.
    Like  =[Object] + 0
    It will force the value to be converted in the number.

  • How can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center

    how can i remove the phone number from the text messages that i receive in the notification center?

    You choose whether to see text messages in Notification Center or not.  If you elect to see them, they will display the phone number (unless they are from a contact in your contacts list).
    You can choose not to see them at Settings > Notification Center > Messages.

  • How to get paragraph number of selected text in ID CS4

    Hi,
    Can anybody help me how to get paragraph number of selected text in Indesign cs4.
    Thanks,
    Gopal

    Ah, I see -- thanks. Turns out that there's no difference in speed between texts.itemByRange(), characters.itemByRange(),and insertionPoints.itemByRange(). In a document with 170 pages of text, and with the cursor in the last paragraph, the second and third lines, below (and your function), give exactly the same result:
    t = app.selection[0];
    t.parentStory.texts.itemByRange (t.parentStory.insertionPoints[0], t).paragraphs.length;
    t.parentStory.characters.itemByRange (t.parentStory.characters[0], t).paragraphs.length;

  • Can't "prepend" a phone number from a text, document or website?

    When the Pre recognizes a phone number in a text message, e-mail, document or website, it allows you to click on the number to call it.  Great so far.  Unfortunately, once you do so, and completely arbitrarily, the phone won't let you make any edits of any kind to the phone number except to add or delete from the end of the number.  Every phone I've ever had has allowed me to "prepend" a number (to, for example, add an area code).  More to the point, there is simply no good reason for the Pre to prevent me from making whatever edits I want to the number.  I should be fully able to hold down the orange key and move the cursor anywhere that I want within the number and then make edits, just like I can when I enter a number manually.  Unfortunately, for no apparent good reason, the phone allows no edits of any sort to any number I've clicked on from another source.
    Can anybody suggest a workaround, or do is this just one of those bizarre "what were they thinking" type things I have to live with?
    Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

    Yeah, and I can also copy and paste the number instead of just clicking on it, but both solutions completely and entirely defeat the whole purpose and convenience of being able to simply click on a number in another source to dial it.  I don't want to have to add numbers I'm going to be calling only once to contacts just to make small changes before I dial them, and then have to delete them from contacts when I'm done.  There is a reason that users can simply click on phone numbers in documents and texts to dial them, and that is convenience.  Not being able to make simple edits kills off some of that convenience.  Workarounds like adding to contacts or cutting and pasting kill almost all of it.

    how convert in a cell a number written in text format into its value?
    cheers francois

    Hi francois,
    If I copyone of them and do a past special/value, it does not work.
    Try just Paste instead of Paste Special > Value
    I know your question is about Excel, but this works in Numbers:
    Copy 1 234 567 (with spaces) and Paste (not Paste Special) into a Cell in a Numbers Table. The result is 1234567 and it behaves as a number. A formula will consider it to be a number:
    You asked Wayne: what do you mean by "to reference a cell" ??
    The reference is from Cell A2 to Cell A1 through a formula, such as: =A1+1

  • How to number lines of text?

    I would like to number lines of text continously throughout the book. I am trying to make lines of text easier to find when my class is having discussions about the book.

    It seems to me that you are either using the wrong tool for the job or your book is too wordy for this type of presentation.
    1. If it is extremely wordy then use an application on the Mac such as iText Pro that can number lines and then export or Print to pdf with the numbered lines in place.
    2. If it is not so wordy then simple description or location should be sufficient to find anything or you use lists that hone the student down to the exact subject point.
    Isn't "15.9.11" close enough for even those that need to follow the text with their fingers?

  • Where is Check number stored in Fusion Payroll

    Hello All,
    I am working on an Positive Pay file that is sent to the Bank after the payroll process and I need the check number details, but not sue where it is stored.
    Can some one let me know where is the Check Number stored in the HCM tables.
    In EBS
    Check Numbers are in the field SERIAL_NUMBER on the PAY_ASSIGNMENT_ACTIONS table.
    Serial Number in Pay_Assignment_Actions is where the check numbers are held. When Check Writer is run, the process requests STARTING and ENDING Check Numbers (Ending Check Number can be left blank).
    But I am able to find the serial number in PAY_PAYROLL_REL_ACTIONS which is the payment reference and doesn't match the Check numbers that are generated.
    Can any one please let me know where to find this information.
    Appreciate all your inputs

    I'm not sure if this gets stored in some database tables, I believe that this information is evaluated in the runtime(i.e., when accessed from 'PA20') using the wage type characteristics(v_t511).
    The function module 'RP_FILL_WAGE_TYPE_TABLE' returns the values of indirectly evaluated wage types also.
    The  (indirect)evaluations of the wage types take place in the subroutine 'EVALUATE_INDEV_TAB' of the function group 'RPIB'. (Include program : LRPIBFXX)

  • Geography polygon stored as text performance anomaly

    I have database with geography polygons stored as text, for various reasons. I understand that this is not optimal for performance reasons (and this is fine), but it was surprising to me how much faster a query becomes by a somewhat counter-intuitive workaround.
    Example in pseudo-sql:
    -- query style 1, about 40 seconds execution time
    SELECT indexedGeography.STIntersection(geography::STGeomFromText(geographyText, 4326)).STArea() /
    indexedGeography.STArea()
    FROM someTables
    -- query style 2, about 3 seconds execution time
    CREATE TABLE #tmp (geog geography)
    INSERT INTO #tmp (geog) SELECT geography::STGeomFromText(geographyText, 4326) FROM someTables
    CREATE SPATIAL INDEX [IX_Spatial] ON #tmp -- index syntax omitted
    SELECT indexedGeography.STIntersection(#tmp.geog).STArea() /
    indexedGeography.STArea() FROM joinedTables
    DROP TABLE #tmp
    So it feels like there is a possibility of a speedup if SQL Server could identify that it would be faster to under the hood run similar calculations for on-the-fly created geography in the execution plan as those that happen when CREATE SPATIAL INDEX explicitly
    is called.
    Tested on SQL Server 2012. The results from both queries are as expected, and the workaround is ok, so I don't have a problematic issue with this, just leaving some feedback.
    Best regards

    You'd need to look at the query plan to see exactly why they're different, but one reason a probably that using a string instead of a spatial type directly in a query, in general, means there's an extra type conversion going on during the query. And less
    chance that the optimizer to help you because it "sees" string. The "always use a spatial data type instead of a string for best performance" concept is documented in a few places including here:
    http://www.sqlskills.com/blogs/bobb/how-to-ensure-your-spatial-index-is-being-used/.
