Numeric fields and display values

Hi All,
I have a few numeric fields in my form. I want to display "null" in those fields when they do not contain a value in the db i.e. whenever the fields are left blank they should display "Null" in the form but will have a Null value in the db.
Any idea on how to do this?

Personally I'd have a WHEN-VALIDATE-ITEM trigger on the display items, and once the value had passed any validation I would update the database item accordingly (i.e. set db_field to TO_NUMBER(display_field) unless it's 'NULL' then set it to null). That way forms knows that the record has changed.

that's quite easy to realize with FormCalc.
In you date fields exit event add the following code:
textField1 = Num2Date( Date2Num($.formattedValue, "MM/DD/YYYY"), "YYYY")
Note: This sample assumes that your date field formats the date with "MM/DD/YYYY". You may have to change the pattern to make it work at your end.

Display data to edit based on fields and its value defined in internal tabl

I need to display data in a internal table for editing in a screen.
you have a internal table with field name , data types and its value. I need to display data in a screen ( sceen painter not in a report) row by row in vrtical format.
The internal table's structure not fix. you can have any number of fields in the internal table.
Can you please send me code if it is available with you or send me any senario in SAP if any ...so that i can debug to extract the code..
have to display data vertically as below in editable format,
for example,
Airline
Flight Number
Flight date
Flight price
Airline Currency
Plane Type
Maximum capacity
Occupied econ.
Total
No of fields will change.
also F4 help needs to be attached with each field.
I think it can be done through step loop. can anybody give sample code or tell me where to find in SAP or somewhere else?

How to compare two currency form fields and display a message if the fields do not equal?

My form has 2 fields named Total_1 and Total_2. If one of the fields does not equal the other, a hidden field will display a message in red on the form alerting the user. Otherwise, the message does not display. Looks like a validation script but I would greatly appreciate help in getting it started. Any ideas?

Since the field values that you want to compare are the results of calculations, you should not normally compare their string values, but rather their numeric values when rounded appropriately (and perhaps then converted to a string). For example, if you have two values that display as 3.14, one could be 3.1400000001 and the other could be 3.13999999999991234. When you get the field values as strings and compare them, they won't be equal though they appear to be. Even some values that are numerically identical won't be equal when compared as strings ("0.0" != "0.00") So the code could be changed to:
// Get the two field values, rounded to two decimals
var v1 = util.printf("%.2f", getField("Total_1").value);
var v2 = util.printf("%.2f", getField("Total_2").value);
// Hide/Show the error message
event.value = (v1 === v2 || (+v1 === 0 && +v2 === 0)) ? "" : "Error message here.";

Change the style of a numeric field when his value is 0

I need show a numeric field in some reports with color red and italic font, but only when the value of number is low than zero. In another case the text must be normal. Is really possible do that? That applies to section details or final summaries.

To make your number filed in Red :
Right click on the field and go in format field click on Font tab and go in Color formula editor and give the following formula :
If Sum(fieldValue} < 0 Then CrRed else CrNoColor
Now go in Style formula editor and give the following :
if sum() < 0 then Critalic
This will make your field red and italic when it is less than 0

Visual Composer Numeric Field and decimals

I have a numeric field in a visual composer application. Sometimes the field has a value like 23.11 and other times it can have a value such as 23.00 with zeroes after the decimal point. If there are numbers after the decimal like the .11 it works fine. However, I cannot figure out a way to retain the .00 in the field. The VC always takes the 23.00 and changes it to 23 (whole value). I want to retain the decimal .00 after the 23.
I am using Netweaver 7.0 SP20. Please let me know if you have any ideas.

there is a .m parameter that should do the trick, you should user .2 so as to show two digits in the right of the decimal dot.
If it doesn't work you should create an OSS Note, it shouldn't be strange that is another of the Visual Composer Bugs.

Test limits in numeric field in case value is written by property node

maybe its possible to integrate this feature:
If I have an numeric input field with defined limits (e. g. 0 = minima, 5 = maxima, step = 1, coerce all on).
Now I write a number in this field and Labview correct the input into the limits.
In case I write a number by property node "value", the limits doesn't matter.
I have to test the limits manually before writing in the numeric field by read out the limit properties and so on....

I figure out that when the value is changed using the property "Value", the coercing process work as expected. For the property "Val(Sgnl)" the limits are ignored. This is on purpose?
I made a small program to test it. If the "input" is placed in a value out of range and "Signaling" is turned on and off couple times, the "output" stays or of range! Or i'm missing something or there something really strange here.

I would like to create a percent bar chart that contains 2 on change of fields and 2 show values.
The idea behind in then to have a mutli axis chart in order to print as a line the second values.
So the first values will be my bar chart in percentage and the second value will be a sum.

There are different ways to achieve that. The simplest i could recall is to have 2 different charts, 1st bar chart and 2nd a line chart, lay one over the other and enable the transparency on the chart which on Top ( say Line ). also, crystal will allow you to control axes etc and make them transparent..

How can I get text from a text field and display it in an alert?

Hello! I am BRAND NEW to Objective-C and Xcode and iOS, so PLEASE be forgiving of what is going to be a stupid question. I have a text field. I want to enter some text, click "return", and see my text in an alert. It doesn't serve any useful purpose, but this is how I learn. So far, I am unsuccessful. Here's my function from my HelloEarthViewController.m file:

What have I missed? Where have I gone wrong?

Okay, here's where I am. I have this in my view controller .h file:

Is an "action button" a real button? From my limited understanding, the alert should launch when I click "return" since showInputMessage is attached to Editing Did End on the text field.

How to get field and variable value in oracle

I'm finding very difficulty to get a field value.. In oracle 11i form there is a field name called total accured and it has value 519.. but i'm not able get this .i search in all tables so iwent to help--> tools-->examine--(diagnostic)-->
i get Block :'XYZ' field: "Balance" and value:'519' and search in table shown in help.
Please can anyone help me to get this field and it's value. it is in HRMS.

It may be a derived / calculated field, which is why you might not be finding it in a table.
For information on the last query run (may give a clue) do help -> examine, then change block to "SYSTEM" and Field to "LAST_QUERY".
Also, Help -> Record History will show you the table or view that the data comes from. May also lead to a clue.And this is what is mentioned in the doc referenced above.

Combo box with multiple variables pre populating multiple fields and max value validation script help

I am creating a pdf form that will be used as a calculator, and my javascript knowledge is pretty rudimentary. I can do the simple things, some of what I need to do is over my head.
1. I believe I need to use a combo box to pre populate certain fields. I have 13 variables in the dropdown to choose from, and whatever the client chooses will pre populate three other fields (and each of the 13 variables will populate those three fields differently). I'm not exactly sure how to go about doing this. Is it custom keystroke script or does it require a document script? Also, I'm guessing that whatever script will be a series of if/then statements, correct?
2. Once all the fields have been populated (be it pre population or filled in by the customer), I need to calculate the answer which is not my main problem—I already have the proper calculations in place and they work. The problem is that the answer has a maximum value even if the actual value goes over that max number. So, the actual answer is 14 but the max value can only be 12. How do I get the calculation to replace that actual number (14) with the max number (12)? Is that in the validation tab or should that go elsewhere?
I feel like I know just enough to be dangerous but not terribly effective. Any help is appreciated.

2. To set the maximum value to 12, try this as the custom calculation script for the field:

You need to replace "Text1" with the name of the field in your form.

What is the Best Approach for System Defined Fields and Default values

Please let me know that what can be the best approach for providing a Default value for the System defined fields when creating a User and How can we hide the System defined fields at the time of User creation

You cannot provide default values for any attributes defined in the FormMetaData.xml file. You can only provide default values for fields defined in the User Defined Fields and supply a default value.
You can using entity adapters to populate some of the values, but you must supply an Organization because there is an entity adapter that you cannot modify that verifies the organization name.

KOMK Fields not displaying values in sales order.

Hi all,
I have created an additional tab for VA01,02 and 03. I have added fields from VBAP table and KOMK structure.
Now fields added from KOMK structure are displaying empty fields(no value). The fields areVAT REG NO (KOMK-stceg) and Tax Code (KONP-MWSK1).
i have added fields with same name, so i have not coded anything. Do i need to code something for these fields?
Please suggest the possible solution.

now i have added KNA1-STCEG to screen and in PBO module i coded as follows.
(In top include i declared Tables kna1 and Tables VBAK.)
data vat type kna1-stceg.
data wa type kna1.
SELECT SINGLE * from kna1 INTO wa.
vat = wa-stceg.
But it is not displaying Vat reg num on screen only displaying empty field.
Please suggest where i went wrong.

Concatenate 2 data fields and put values in single line

How to search for a field and its value in an internal table

Hi,
I want to search for a field(which i dont know whether it exists or not) in an internal table and on finding that field, I have to update the value of that field. How do I do it? I think its similar to how SEARCH works but i wanted to know the internal table eqivalent of it.
