Numeric keyboard comma separator

Hello iUsers,
I am quite new in mac but this problem has appeared suddenly and I don't know if it is on my site or by something else. I've googled it and trying to find answer here but nothinkg helps. The problem has been already solved here before but this not helping me, sorry if I am disturbing...
In every aplication, when I am trying to write "," on numeric keyboard, it writes "." which is super anoying especialy in OO.org calc or 3D app Rhino where I need to work with decimals. It is so anoying to go to the "," key on the alphabet section.
I was trying to switch the Language&Text setting to US or custom but nothing helps, it put always dot.
Please, please help. I was so ****** of by PCs for many years by such a stupid bugs and hoped that on macs this is solved.
Thanks a lot

Hi Steffen,
For that purpose you can write a simple batch file or a second application that calls your program with different command line arguments.
Your main application can read the input parameters and you can code it to distinguish the program call reason (first time or second time).
Another solution that comes to my mind is the atexit function.
You can register your own application to start itself upon its exit. See the function help for details.
I cannot try that right now but I'll be glad if you can try it and inform us of results.
Hope this helps,

  • How to get comma separator digits

    Hi,
    I need to build some reports for US clients and they need comma separated numbers (9,999,999.00). I thought I could do it in the data format, as custom numeric format, but I insert 9,999,999.00 there, than
    it will replace the actual value of the column.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Extend cord on Numeric Keyboard

    I've just bought a new iMac and chose to get the numeric keyboard over the wireless one because I didn't want to bother with batteries and I felt the extra usb ports would be handy for general jobs. However, I have a 3 level desk and while the keyboard does manage to reach a usb port behind the computer, I can't pull out my designated keyboard shelf in order to use it more ergonomically. I've heard there's meant to be an extension cord included but I may have missed out as I got mine with a computer? Is there any way around this, I'm not sure I can use it very well if the keys aren't even virtually visible to me.

    According to this Apple Store listing:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB110LL/B/apple-keyboard-with-numeric-keypad-e nglish-usa?fnode=efca8f3c19847645b831d35077a2828a9394d5ff7d54d985d22da6924227a31 851d813bba09e29db518d577a3c94482024ea6843806b5d9d6f515f78106f8ed3d656155e510c603 34588d07edee633648a717f42b0a1336496028c2bdbf031200d65a66c69a40e5bdf18b64392291d5 6
    a keyboard bought separately comes with the extension cable. If you did a "build-to-order" purchase and substituted the corded board for the wireless one it might not be included. As we are all end-users here, your best action is to contact an Apple Store or Apple support for clarification and assistance, as I do not see the extension cable offered as a separate part in the Web Store.

  • Brand New MacB Air and i haven't been able to get passed the format which has had to be done twice because, I have a French Numeric Keyboard and Language in English.  The minute I type in my password, the keyboard gives me letters that i did NOT type.

    I live in Switzerland and can only buy a Mac Air with a French or German keyboard, no chance to buy an English keyboard Mac here,.  When setting up  I chose the French numerique keyboard, although there are two choices French or French numerique.  I put in my language as English.  When all was set up I came to the start page and had to put in my password, by the grace of g....I just happened to see the first letter I typed before it turned into a dot.  My password which was supposed to start with the number 2 showed a french e with accent before it quikly became a dot.
      Because of the dot system, this meant that I had no clue what the keyboard was typing as my password ...........and true enough my password was not accepted despite my trying all combinations.  I have had to reformat twice now thanks to Apple Chat and both times my password was not accepted.  I am in the process of formatting it again, this time on my own.  If the Start page does not accept my password again this can only mean that the Mac left the factory with faults.  I could not be more disappointed with the money spent and the time and trouble that Apple Chat and I have spent in trying to correct a brand new out of the box Mac.  I have a cheap Toshiba laptop also with a french keyboard and english language which gave me no trouble at all.  I am not impressed with the so called King of computers!  First of all the dot system is daft.  People want to be able to see and confirm their passwords before they are set for good.  Second,  this problem is going to give me a lot of grief.  Switzerland business is not renowned for its after sales service or the time it takes to do repairs.  When I had an issue with my Vaio laptop which was still under warranty, they kindly picked it up from my house, repaired and promptly returned it.  How's that for good proper service.

    i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
    do a true clean install
    reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
    at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
    exit disk utlity
    at menu, choose install OSX
    this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
    you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

  • Need to Convert Comma separated data in a column into individual rows from

    Hi,
    I need to Convert Comma separated data in a column into individual rows from a table.
    Eg: JOB1 SMITH,ALLEN,WARD,JONES
    OUTPUT required ;-
    JOB1 SMITH
    JOB1 ALLEN
    JOB1 WARD
    JOB1 JONES
    Got a solution using Oracle provided regexp_substr function, which comes handy for this scenario.
    But I need to use a database independent solution
    Thanks in advance for your valuable inputs.

    Go for ETL solution. There are couple of ways to implement.

  • MODEL clause to process a comma separated string

    Hi,
    I'm trying to parse a comma separated string using SQL so that it will return the parsed values as rows;
    eg. 'ABC,DEF GHI,JKL' would return 3 rows;
    'ABC'
    'DEF GHI'
    'JKL'
    I'm thinking that I could possibily use the MODEL clause combined with REGULAR expressions to solve this as I've already got a bit of SQL which does the opposite ie. turning the rows into 1 comma separated string;
    select id, substr( concat_string, 2 ) as string
    from (select 1 id, 'ABC' string from dual union all select 1, 'DEF GHI' from dual union all select 1, 'JKL' from dual)
    model
    return updated rows
    partition by ( id )
    dimension by ( row_number() over (partition by id order by string) as position )
    measures ( cast(string as varchar2(4000) ) as concat_string )
    rules
    upsert
    iterate( 1000 )
    until ( presentv(concat_string[iteration_number+2],1,0) = 0 )
    ( concat_string[0] = concat_string[0] || ',' || concat_string[iteration_number+1] )
    order by id;
    Can anyone give me some pointers how to parse the comma separated string using regexp and create as many rows as needed using the MODEL clause?

    Yes, you could do it without using ITERATE, but FOR ... INCREMENT is pretty much same loop. Couple of improvements:
    a) there is no need for CHAINE measure
    b) there is no need for CASE in RULES clause
    c) NVL can be applies on measures level

    Plz gimme an idea on this.

    Hi
    My point is that the more detailed you ask your question, the more likely you are to get an answer.
    Those of us who monitor these newsgroups also appreciate you doing as much of your own research as possible, before asking us for help - we're more likely to spend our own (personal and valuable) time helping you, if we know that you've spent your own time doing research, and you've still not been able to solve the problem.
    I look forward to your next question :-)

  • How to get distinct values in a comma separated list of email addresses?

    Hi Friends,
    I have a cursor which fetches email address along with some other columns. More than one record can have same email address.
    Ex
    CURSOR C1 IS
    SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX123' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX223' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX124' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX224' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dualNow, i open the cursor write the contents into a file and also form a comma separated list of buyer emails as follows
    for cur_rec in c1
    LOOP
    --write contents into a file
    l_buyer_email_list := l_buyer_email_list||cur_rec.buyer_email||',';
    END LOOP
    l_buyer_email_list := RTRIM(l_buyer_email_list,',');
    The buyer email list will be like: '[email protected],[email protected],[email protected],[email protected]'
    Inorder to avoid duplicate email address in the list, i can store each of this value is a table type variable and compare in each iteration whether the email already exist in the list or not.
    Is there any other simpler way to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Sreekanth Munagala.

    If you are using oracle version 11, you can use listagg function
    with c as
    (SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX123' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX223' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX124' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX224' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    select buyer, listagg(buyer_email,',') within group (order by  buyer)
    from c
    group by buyer
    order by buyerFor prior versions
    {cod}
    with c as
    (SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX123' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX223' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 1 Buyer,'XX124' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    UNION ALL
    SELECT 2 Buyer,'XX224' PO, '[email protected]' Buyer_email from dual
    select buyer, rtrim(xmlagg(xmlelement(e,buyer_email||',').extract('//text()')),',')
    from c
    group by buyer

  • Obtaining comma-separated list of text values associated with bitwise flag column

    In the table msdb.dbo.sysjobsteps, there is a [flags] column, which is a bit array with the following possible values:
    0: Overwrite output file
    2: Append to output file
    4: Write Transact-SQL job step output to step history
    8: Write log to table (overwrite existing history)
    16: Write log to table (append to existing history)
    32: Include step output in history
    64: Create a Windows event to use as a signal for the Cmd jobstep to abort
    I want to display a comma-separated list of the text values for a row. For example, if [flags] = 12, I want to display 'Write Transact-SQL job step output to step history, Write log to table (overwrite existing history)'.
    What is the most efficient way to accomplish this?

    Here is a query that gives the pattern:

    Here I'm creating the numbers on the fly, but it is better to have a table of numbers in your database. It can be used in many places, see here for a short discussion:
    http://www.sommarskog.se/arrays-in-sql-2005.html#numbersasconcept
    (Only read down to the next header.)
    For FOR XML PATH thing is the somewhat obscure way we create concatenated lists. There is not really any using trying to explain how it works; it just works. The one thing to keep in mind is that it adds an extra comma at the end and the final query strips
    it off.
    This query does not handle that 0 has a special meaning - that is left as an exercise to the reader.

  • Combine data from a table and insert to another in comma separated format

    In my SQL database table i have some data as shown below.
    KNO       Course      Grade     Institution
    124        BTECH       First       IIT Calicut
    128        BE             First       KKS Institute
    124        CCNA         Q          NIIT Delhi
    124        DDCN         Q          Appl Calicut
    128        DIT            A         NIIT Delhi
    128        VB              Q        IICM Delhi
    i want this courses to be arranged as sample given under to a table named mainpers
    KNO    Course
    124     BTECH[First], CCNA[Q],DDCN[Q]
    128     BE[First], DIT[A], VB[Q]
    I am a System Administrator at Vadodara

    You can do this in SQL.
    with cte as (
    select distinct KNO
    from Table1
    select KNO
    , Stuff(
    (select ',' + Course + '[' + Grade + ']'
    from Table1
    where Table1.KNO = cte.KNO
    for xml path ('')
    ), 1, 1, '') as Course
    from cte

  • Exporting Metadata (caption information) from JPEGS to a comma separated value (CSV) file

    Here is my dilemma. I am an archivist at an arts organization and we are in the process of digitizing many of our materials to post them on the web and make them available to internet users. One of the principle components of our collection is a large trove of photographs. We have been in the process of digitizing these images and embedding metadata (in the Caption/Description, Author/Photographer and Copyright fields) via PhotoShops File Info command.
    Now I am at a crossroads. We need to extract this metadata and transfer it into a comma separated value form, like an Excel spreadsheet or a FileMakerPro database. I have been told that it is not possible to do this through PhotoShop, that I must run a script through Acrobat or Bridge. I have no clue how to do this. I have been directed to a couple of links.
    First I was directed to this (now dead) link: http://www.barredrocksoftware.com/products.html
    The BSExportMetadata script allegedly exports the metadata from files selected in Adobe's Bridge into a comma separated value (CSV) file suitable for import into Excel, Access and most database programs. It installs as a Bridge menu item making it simple to use. The the Export Metadata script provides you with an easy to use wizard allowing you to select associated information about a set of images that you can then export. This script requires Creative Suite 2 (CS2). This script sounds like it does exactly what I want to do, but unfortunately, it no longer exists.
    Then I found this:
    Arnold Dubin, "Script to Export and Import Keywords and Metadata" #13, 8 Aug 2005 7:23 am
    I tried this procedure, but nothing seemed to happen. I also tried to copy the script into the JAVASCRIPT action option in Acrobat, but I received a message that the script had an error. It also seems to me that this script does not set up a dumping point, that is, a file into which this information will be exported to.
    I am a novice, not a code writer or a programmer/developer. I need a step-by-step explanation of how to implement this filtering of information. We have about 2000 jpeg and tiff files, so I would rather not go through each file and copy and paste this information elsewhere. I need to find out how to create a batch process that will do this procedure for me. Can anyone help?

    Hello -
    Is anyone aware of a tool that will do the above that is available for mac? Everything I've found so far seems to be PC only.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
