Numeric type source field

Hello.
I try to make one of my source field as integer. I use XSD Schema and I've already tried all of xsd numeric data types  (like Integer, int, short , byte) - In all cases in Import manager I get always "Text" type.
Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,
If you have mapped numeric/boolean/ccurency etc to text field in Import manager, there will be an automatic type conversion based on type of the destination field.
This is what you are seeing in the import manager in "type".
For further details please go to page 225 of Import manager guide.
Thanks,
Ravi

  • How to transfer trailing spaces in the source field type c

    Hello,
I have to splitt a string key of 120 characters into two InfoObjects (CHAR). The problem is, that the trailing spaces are lost in the character Field.
Has anybody an idea to avoid the lost?
    Thank you.
Conversion Table for Source Field Type c
The characters in the source field are inserted in the target field, left-aligned. Trailing spaces in the source field are not transferred. If the target field is longer than the number of characters transferred, it is filled with blank characters to the right. If the target field is shorter, the number is truncated from the right.

    Hi ,
Create two Characteristic InfoObjects in BW With length 60 Char  and then in the Transfer Rules of this two InfoObjects write the Formula using Left() and right() function present in the Formula Builder .
That is First infoObject Contains the Left 60 Char and next one Contains the right 60 Char.
    Regards,
    Vijay.

  • Adding new site columns to my issue tracking List, will result in having their Source field as blank inside the Issue content type

I have added an Issue tracking list to my SharePoint team site 2013. Then I wanted to add 5 extra columns to my list . So I did the following:-
    I went to site settings.
Then I added 5 new site columns.
I went back to my list setting, I click on the “Issue” content type, and I added the 5 newly added site columns to my "Issue" content type , using the “Add from existing site or list columns” link as follow:-
And then these columns were added automatically inside the Edit, Create& Display forms.
But since this is the first time I work on such a task , so I want to make sure that I did every thing correctly. Because I am not sure why the 5 newly added site columns will have their source field inside the “Issue” content type as blank , as shown in
the above picture. So does this indicate that there is a problem ? or this is because I have added the 5 newly added site columns to the List content type and not inside the Content type at the site level ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
It’s by design, the Source field means the content type name.
As you said, when we create a new column, if we not attach the column to a content type, then the column would have not the source field option.
However, if you create a new column, then add the column in a content type, the content type would automatically update in the site.
Now, you would see a source content type appear.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Jason

    Hi
Before you reinstall Safari, go back to the Font Book>Edit menu and disable the two fonts. Then, restart the computer and try Safari again.
If it still crashes, here is how to reinstall Safari.
Have a look at this Apple article for installing other software, including Safari, from the Tiger DVD - see the section titled More custom reinstallation options with Mac OS X 10.4.
    Other Steps
Move the Safari.pkg file in the HD>Library>Receipts folder to the trash.
As a precaution, prior to reinstalling Safari, move your Safari folder, found via the Finder in your Home Folder>Library to the Desktop. It has your bookmarks, history etc. Once the reinstall is completed, move the folder back to its original location writing over the newly created folder.
Remember too, the version of Safari you install will be specific to the Version on your installer DVD. Therefore, run Software Update and see if Safari updates appear. If not, reapply the 10.4.10 combined update to bring Safari up to the current version.
"Repair Permissions" via Disk Utility in your Utilities folder when you are finished.

  • Changing data types of  fields in structures

    Hello,
Currently we are working for upgrade to ECC 6.0 .
In some transactions we are using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to create material.
We have some additional fields in MARA and MARC table , which we fill using BAPI_TE_MARA and BAPI_TE_MARC structures.
In these structures we have different data types for fields earlier in 4.6C
Now this function module is only working if we change  data types of  fields in these structures only to char type. It is going for dump , if we maintain any other data type.
Could any body tell me why should we change for char data type ?
    Regards,
      SATYA

    Hi,
Check enhancement category (Extras --> Enhancement Category) for structures before enhancement. For example, for BAPI_TE_MARA structure, enhancement category is given as character type or numeric type. That means you can add the fields of data type only C and N. No other data types are allowed. If you select as not classified then you can add any data type. This option plays important role while enhancement.

  • SQL Loader and numeric types

I'm using SQL Loader to import data from a file, but I'm having trouble with numeric types.
I'm trying to import an amount into a table. The amount field in the table is of type NUMBER(11,2).
I suppose that Double is the correct type to use in the ctl-file definition. How do I use this type?
    I've tried to use:
AMOUNT DOUBLE TERMINATED BY ";" NULLIF BELOP=BLANKS,
but the I get an error message because I'm using terminated by
    I've also tried using:
    BELOP DOUBLE NULLIF BELOP=BLANKS,
but then it isn't able to find the delimiter.
I've tried to search the net for examples using Double, but I haven't found anything of current interest yet.
    So, my question is:
    1. Is Double the correct type to use in this case?
    2. How do I use Double?

I hardly ever specify a data type in a SQL*Loader control file; I just let Oracle handle it. If it is not the correct datatype for the column Oracle will reject it anyway. The main exception is DATE columns, but even then only because most flat files don't have dates in the default format so the data type specifcation is essentially just a format mask.

  • Problem with numeric types in Abap Proxy

    Hello,
We are having problems with some abap proxy calls. When a numeric type is filled with 0 the node it´s automatically removed and no value it's recived in XI. The only way I have found to avoid this problem it's to define the field with type string or change the cardinality to 1..1 instead of 0..1. It's there any way to maintain the type and the cardinality?? Maybe with a pattern??
    Regards,
    Alberto Pla.

    Hi Alberto
I had this problem, and I decided to use xsd:string instead of xsd:integer. This will solve the issue.
    Anyway.. check this note:

  • Picking up required Characteristics from my Source field to Target field!!

    Hi ,
I need to pick up data from  a source field that is 35 characters long to a target field in my Cube that is only 4 char long. But the data that will be fed into this source field will be 4 char long only, so can anyone help me with picking up only the 4 char I need into my target field.
Is this possible, If yes kindly post the routine that will allow me to concatenate the remaining characteristics and pick up only the 4 char I need.
    Thanks,
    Guru.

Also, if this is the behaviour of the infoObject at all the places it is to be used, you can created Global Transfer Routine at infoObject level.
Otherwise you can write the routine in transformations, rule type "Routine" and then the avaiable source field can be used.
    A simple example:
I needed to build a character date field for a cross-platform integration project I was working on. First, I defined the date field:
    data: datechar(10).
To build the date lets use sy-datum, which has the current system date.
      write SY-DATUM+4(2) to datechar+0(2).
      write '/' datechar+2(1).
      write SY-DATUM+6(2) to datechar+3(2).
      write '/' TO datechar+5(1).
      write SY-DATUM+0(4) to datechar+6(4).
    Value of SY-DATUM 20010616
Here's how the field changes with the execution of each line.
    06________
    06/_______
    06/16_____
    06/16/____
    06/16/2001
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Sumit

  • Gui_upload for csv file with numeric n date fields

    Hi ,
i searched on net on how to use GUI_UPLOAD for csv files using split function but the spilt function requires that the data type of all fields of the internal table should be character whereas in my case there is a numeric n data field too.So kindly help me how to do it.
One way ppl might suggest that give all the fields as char in the internal n after recieving the data in the internal convert the required fields back to data n numeric n then finally insert to the database but if i have 80 fields u would really dont want to do that as it requires precision to convert it to the same type n length as in the original database for all the fields.

yeah i guess that would be a bit longer if i m having more no of fields (80) compared to ORACLE where this can be done in a shorter way.
SO i shall use 2 internal tables here rite?? i mean first one(with all fields as char) for storing the split function values and the other one (with actual data types) .CAN u plz tell me how to convert or cast from one data type to another n while moving values from 1st internal table to another  which way shall i do.
Thanks for ur help n can u suggest if there is any other method for uploading csv also other than this split method n whether this method is better n faster than others.
    THANX

  • UNION changes type of field

    Statement 1:
    SELECT E0380.CardValue
FROM (SELECT E0465.CardValue FROM E0465 UNION ALL
SELECT null AS CardValue FROM E0465) E0380
    Statement 2:
    SELECT E0465.CardValue FROM E0465
I use OleDbCommand to execute these 2 statements. For statement 1 I use GetDecimal method to get value.
For statement 2 I use GetDouble to get value. The type of field CardValue is FLOAT. Why the type in these 2
statements are different? How to solve this problem?
My Oracle is 10g and connection string is "Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;Data Source=EMS;Password=abc;User ID=S000"
    Thanks a lot
    Edited by: user1095915 on May 8, 2012 10:59 AM

I believe the behavior you're describing is apparent outside of OLEDB, so the database sql forum may be better equipped to assist.
I tested the following, so we could easily see the resulting datatype from the union:
    SQL> create table floattab(col1 float);
    Table created.
    SQL> SELECT E0380.col1
2  FROM (SELECT floattab.col1 FROM floattab UNION ALL
      3  SELECT null AS CardValue FROM dual) E0380;
          COL1
SQL> create table tt as SELECT E0380.col1
2  FROM (SELECT floattab.col1 FROM floattab UNION ALL
      3  SELECT null AS CardValue FROM dual) E0380;
    Table created.
    SQL> desc tt;
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    COL1                                               NUMBER
    SQL> desc floattab;
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    COL1                                               FLOAT(126)
SQL>If I read the docs correctly, it looks like this is probably expected, but the database folks may be able to comment better since the behavior does not seem related to OLEDB.

  • FMDERIVE: adding a new MM source field

Hi, I'd would to know how to add the field KNTTP (Account assignement category) in a derivation rule.
So far, I've done this steps:
    1) Adding the field in the structure FMDERIVE inside de APPEND "AFMDERIVE"
    2) Activating the user exit EXIT_SAPLFMDT_002
*--- Copy additional fields from the structure COBL.
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING i_cobl TO c_fmderive.
*--- Copy additional fields from the structure COBL_AD
    MOVE-CORRESPONDING i_cobl_ad TO c_fmderive.
    3) Creating the new derivation rule in transaction FMDERIVE, like this:
SOURCE FIELDS: KNTTP (Account assignment category) & PLANT (Plant)
    TARGET FIELDS: FUND_CENTER (Funds Center)
    CONDITIONS: FM_AREA = XXXX & COMPANY_CODE = 1000 & KNTTP = A
    Unchecked all in Attributes tab.
    RULE VALUES = For example: PLANT = 1000 & KNTTP = A ==> FUND_CENTER = A
                                                      PLANT = 1000 & KNTTP = K ==> FUND_CENTER = Z
    SAVE
But when I'm creating a purchase requisition (ME51N) and I choose the plant 1000 and the account assignment category A, the derivation is not working.
We have made a debugging and we've realised that the structure i_cobl doesn't have the field KNTTP, so the exit always move to a blank space in field KNTTP.
Anybody can help me? Is there a way to add fields in the i_cobl structure?? Should I use another User exit because the field belongs to MM??
If anybody have any other idea, I will be glad to read it!!
    Thanks in advance!
    Lorena

Hi, there is a way of using KNTTP in derivation (this also applies to other fields not available in COBL/COBL_AD), not sure if it is a recommended approach because it requires reading the values from memory, it does work though.
Read the value of KNTTP from memory and assign it to C_FMDERIVE in EXIT_SAPLFMDT_002, include ZXFMDTU02. then it is available in derivation as source field, provided that you have added it to the structure. See code below:
    DATA: lv_field(100) TYPE c.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <ekpo> TYPE ekpo.
    CONCATENATE '(SAPLMEPO)' 'EKPO' INTO lv_field.
    ASSIGN (lv_field) TO <ekpo>.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
       c_fmderive-usertemp1 = <ekpo>-knttp.
    ENDIF.

  • Searching Web Apps with Data Source fields containing multiple values

I have a Web App with a field allowing multiple values to be entered similar to the checkbox list. I need to restrict allowed values to a large, finite list of values currently stored in another Web App as the data source. I can't apply the Data Source field type as that only allows single value selection. I also need to be able to use the Web App Search form to search for items containing 1 OR more values in this field (the search functionality of a checklist field type). Here's what I've tried for field types:
Text (string) or Text (multiline) field type - By saving a list of comma separated values (the same way that checkbox list outputs) to a text input or textarea, the search logic only searches for exact string (including commas) and doesn't parse the individual values.
List (checkbox list) field type - This allows me to search multiple values using OR logic, but the web app will only store values that have been entered as options in the actual web app field setup. I tried using a checkbox list with minimal or empty options hoping that whatever values I sent over in a comma separated string value would still get stored, but because the values came from my Web App data source and not the list of options stored with the field, they were not saved.
Has anyone found a way to do this?
My other question is about how I might use a similar multi-value field as described above but return search results containing items with ALL selected values for that field (AND logic).
Can anyone enlighten me to the inner workings of BC web app search logic?

    Thanks Robert.
You'll need to create your own interface to the webapp database for those kind of data operations
by this, are you speaking of the internal BC database which stores web app schema data? That would be great if it were possible to update that programmatically because I need to use the List (Checkbox List) field type (for the search functionality), but I need to supply the checkbox options from a web app rather than by manually updating the list entered in the Fields view of the web app settings (shown below).
I'm curious if anyone else has tried this?
Again, my reason for needing to use the List (Checkbox List) field type is that the page which processes searches knows to expect a comma separated list for this field type and then appears to be parsing out the individual values for searching out web app items with 1 or more matching values. You're right that text fields (string and multiline) just check for 'string contains' matches, and this would be ok if I was only ever needing to search just one value at a time. Here's an example of what I might do:
Web App item field value (as recorded against the List (Checkbox List) field type:
    8294877,8294878
Web App Search value (for this same field):
    8294879,8294877,8294885
The search would return this web app item because the field contains 2 (1 or more) individual values even though they were entered into the search field in a different order. If this web app item were just a Text (string or multiline) field, the searched value is not a substring of the web app item's stored value, so it would not find a match. Hence the need to use Checkbox List field type.
The web app will have thousands if not 10s of thousands of records, so dumping them all into one big array or object and searching on the front-end won't be practical (though it works great on smaller datasets).

  • 'CURR' type data field

    Hi guys,

But, some how or rather, i can't seem to consolidate any of the 'decimal/numeric' type parameters. The 'group' functionality is just greyed out. Eg. Solved.  According to SAP, GP does not support 'CURR' data type field as it is only ABAP specific..Go figure ;)..Anyways, managed to get a workaround
