He bought it from USA and sod it to me.
The phone shows Verizon lock.
I need to unlock it.

Even when your iPhone is locked up, you can still sync it with your computer. Do that first so all your data is backed up in iTunes. If you're using iCloud, you might want to switch it over to your computer for now just to be sure your information is safe.
Put your iPhone into DFU mode. To do this, reboot your iPhone by holding down the power and home buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. When you see the Apple logo, let go of the power button but continue holding down the home button. Soon you will see an image displaying a USB cable, the iTunes icon, and a message that says "Connect to iTunes."
Assuming you still have your iPhone connected to your computer with iTunes open, you'll also see a message telling you iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and needs to restore. Now you can click the Restore button in iTunes and then wait for iOS to download and install on your iPhone.
Sync your iPhone with iTunes to restore all your data and you'll have it back to normal with no password!

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. The UK carriers will not unlock phones for anyone who is not a customer of theirs. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. Ask them if they can tell you what carrier it is locked to. If they can, then contact that carrier, find out exactly what their requirements are, fulfill the requirements, and request an unlock from them. No one here can do anything about it.

File locked, need to unlock it

Hi all:
Due to a system crash I have ran fsck to recover the file systems. Then, when rebooting the system, I have found that a Veritas service, called qlogck, claims that its configuration file (/etc/qlogck.conf) is locked. So I must type ctrl-d to continue the boot process. How could I unlock this file, so that the boot process run normally?

The reason I'm asking, we have a bunch of computers we inherited that have some permissions issues within each user's respective home directory ("~"). The issue effects Acrobat Pro X's ability to launch ("Internal error occurred") since it tries to get access files/folders it doesn't have access to when the user launches. Recursively setting ownership to the respective user fixes the problem (and follows Apple's guidelines). However, that one file appears to have the unix file lock set (man chflags). So we are using a pre-installation script on our push policy to loop through every home directory. It appears the above file is the only one that won't let us change permissions.

No shop can officially unlock your iPhone. Only the cell carrier to whom the iPhone is locked can authorize unlocking. Unless this shop is an authorized outlet for the cell carrier, the shop is scamming you.
If they are an authorized outlet for the carrier, contact the cell carrier's customer support, give them the appropriate case/order number for the unlock request, and get them to actually process the unlock. Then follow the carrier's instructions as to how long to wait. They may tell you that there will be an email, or they may just tell you to wait a certain amount of time. You bought a no contract iPhone, not an unlocked one. Had you purchased a Verizon one the GSM side would have been unlocked but you have to follow Sprint's process to unlock the GSM side of their phone. If there is any way possible you need to return this phone and get your money back or sell it and use the money to buy an unlocked iPhone.

Family member passed away. Need to unlock, iPhone, iPad mini, Macbook Air

My Grandad recently passed away and has left me with an iPad mini - Wifi only, iPhone 4s and a Macbook Air 13 inch. All of which are passcoded and locked to his e-mail account. However no one in our family knows his password.
Of course I'm sure people use this story all the time when this have been stolen - So I'm just looking for some help.
If I need to go to an Apple store with the death certificate I am more than happy to do that, I have the serial numbers of the macbook and iPad I took a photo of the box before I threw them out.
With the iPad I have reset the factory settings except it still wants me to sign in the with original Apple ID - being my Granddads e-mail and password. But as I said I don't know these.

It sounds like you are needing to unlock this iPad but the passcode is unknown. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. According to the following article you should use recovery mode to restore the iPad and be able to use it. The caveat to this is that it will delete all the data on the iPad.

Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
Click OK, then restore the device.
