Numerical Characters Formatting Problem With XML Report Output Run From Command Line

Problem description is:
When a BI Publisher concurrent job is submitted as a child job of a PL/SQL type concurrent request, the locale in OPP is not set same as of RTF template selected. This results in number format and date format localization not work as expected. For example, when BI Publisher child job is submitted after attaching RTF template (through fnd_request.add_layout API) having language-territory as de-DE, the number format on PDF output comes out as 9,999.00 instead of 9.999,00.
Points to notice:
1. In OPP log we noticed that xslt._XDOLOCALE always has value EN-GB irrespective of language-territory of attached RTF template
2. NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTER column in fnd_concurrent_request table has no value for BI Publisher job. We can set it up through fnd_request.set_options API but it is not a desired solution. We need that OPP should automatically choose correct number format depending on locale of selected RTF template
3. When same child BI Publisher job's output is re-processed through "XML Publisher Report" program and de-DE locale is chosen for RTF template then the number format localization works fine.
Please help us to understand root cause of this issue and how it can be resolved.

Problem with Xml Report

Dear Experts,
I have designed a Oracle report using oracle BI publisher.
xml is generating successfully from reports builder, my problem is that some of Invoice numbers are starting with zero (0). But when i preview the output in excel then zero's are not displaying in the report.
For eg. My invoice number is 001, in output i am getting only 1.
I check the force LTR option, then invoice number is displaying properly 001. But when i am copying this invoice number 001 and searching it on R12.1.3 in Payable window, then its not searchable.
Copying from excel and pasting into oracle R12.1.3 is not working.
Please advice me how to tackle with this problem.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Checking the Force LTR option and the code suggested by you is exactly the same.
The Invoice number which are starting with zero's are coming properly in the output, But problem is when i am copying this invoice number cell to the oracle instance then its not searchable.
Copy for Excel 001 --> Oracle Production instance F11 -- > Paste 001 -- Here the search is not happening, if you manually type 001 then its retrieving the invoice number 001.
Please help me if you can to resolve this issue.

Problem with up-arrow on a long command line

I often use the "terminal" window to open up a connection (via ssh) to linux and unix boxes.
While I'm logged into the remote computer and I try to edit a previous command, I notice that my
display gets all fouled up if the command that I'm trying edit is very long. I'm unable to do the
usual unix tricks of up-arrowing to the command and then backspacing through it to perform my edits. Often my only recourse is to retype the entire command which is a pain and prone to error.
I'm using bash as my Mac shell and tcsh on the remote machines.
Has anybody experienced this? Any hints?

It's a visual-only problem with Terminal.app.
Other than the cosmetic effect, you will find that the editing works as you expect - you might just have to be psychic with regards to telling how far to backspace and where/when to make your edits.
The problem has been there for a long time. You might have better luck setting the terminal to a different emulation (Terminal -> Preferences -> Declare terminal as:) to see if one of the other emulations work for you, or use a different terminal application such as iTerm

Problem with called Report 6.0 from Forms

Hi all,
I have built a form in 6.0 which calls a Report through a RUN_PRODUCT procedure.
I pass a few parameters to send it directly to a printer, but all that comes out is a white page.
When i send to the screen, there's no problem. The cause of the white paper is that apparently the margins are set in such a way that the report falls of the page.
Any idea how i can correct this ...? This only occurs when it is called from the form. Is there a parameter i've missed...?

There have been some changes between 10.1.2.0 and 10.1.2.3. In some cases, java beans will need to be recompiled against the latest frmall.jar file. One example of this issue is noted in the following places:

Also, be sure to consider other changes you have made. For example, if you were using Jinitiator with 10.1.2.0 and are now using the Java Plug-in this may also be a cause of the problem. I am not suggesting that using the JRE (java plug-in) is causing the problem, but simply that some minor other changes may be required in order to have everything work in harmony together.

Excel Output problem with XML Publisher Report

Hi Experts,
I am working on XML Publisher report with EBS 11i and database 9i. My XML Report output type is EXCEL, i have below issue with the output.
I have column 'quantity' with xml tag <?QUANTITY?>.
In the XML file it's showing the value '028' for quantity, but when i open the output in EXCEL, it's showing up '28', removing leading zero. I want to show the data in EXCEL also '028'. Could somebody help me how to print the XML Tag value as it is in EXCEL output.

Barcode's in R12.1.1 xml report output's (English and Arabic)

Dear Frednds,
we are using R12.1.1 and we need to get the barcode output's (in place of numbers) in out xml report output's.
We need it in English report and also in Arabic reports (it has seperate arabic template file)
Please let us know the method?

1) we have downloaded and installed the Font Code128bWinLarge.ttf on windows PC.
2)Set the barcode font for the required field in the rtf Template.
3) Copied the font file, Code128bWinLarge.ttf to $OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
4) Copied xdo.cfg file from our local desktop where we have BI publisher installed to
$OA_JRE_TOP/lib Directory.
5)added these lines locating barcode font location ($OA_JRE_TOP/lib/fonts
/Code128bWinLarge.ttf)accordingly.
Now For English reports we are getting the barcode
But for Arabic reports we are getting junk characters
so is there any other font available for Arabic barcode.Plerase suggest

I am having a problem with my report when it is generated as a PDF file from the reports server. A space is added soon after the letter w in all the words where there is letter w; for example, the word awake appears as aw ke, will appears as w ill, etc. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I am using Reports 11g. Thanks.

In layout change the font (Redo font) thru menu option (Not Font) Format -> Font >Western.

I know a really good actor that has the same name...and you're new to reports...hmmmmmmmm.....well, first of all,
bravo to you for being able to write english at all. I'm glad I don't have to learn it again.
Go to the Group Expert and select one of your "levels".
This will be your top group. Then select the next "level", etc.
I know you're not a dummy, but get a "Crystal Reports for Dummies" book and then a Crystal Reference book. The dummy books are actually pretty good and give you a "from the ground" start. Then keep coming back to the forum and test out your ideas by helping others.

Problem with XML on Linux

hi everybody,
I've a big problem with XML on Linux, in details I see my program stopping on Linux at the instruction
XMLReader xr = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl");
and it's strange because on Windows it runs and there aren't problems about permissions on files, does anyone knows what to do?

What happens on that line? I'm assuming you get some kind of error or exception.
Make sure the JAR file for Crimson is in your classpath.

How to include input user parameter values in XML report output?

How can i include input user parameter values in XML report output. I a have a report which can be run by providing start date and end date. I would like to include value of these parameters in XML output to enable me to figure out dates for report, just by looking at XML output.

I think all the XML attributes can contain lexicals. If you bring up the property palette against the report object you can just set the following:
XML Tag Attributes: myParameter="&<P_1>"
where P_1 is your user parameter.
