Why cant I change folder permission even as administrator. Thank you.

reinstall your Nvidia graphics driver using the latest version from NVidia website.
if issue persist, try to install NVidia graphics driver in compatibility mode.

The program can't start because ftd2xx.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
Newly installed program on fairly new Windows 7 laptop. First time running it and we are missing .dll files. The google is full of very malicious looking websites offering dll files.
Not sure where to go on this one except bothering the vendor. I've seen Microsoft articles with no helpful information as well.

  • I have uninstalled and reinstalled the new iTunes but it still will not work.  I keep getting the error mesage relating to MSVCR80.dll, the installation error 7 (windows error 126). I have tried moving and removing the dll files including the QTMovie dll

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes 15 times regarding the latest release and still get the MSVCR80.dll and Error 7 (Windows error 126) messages.
I have tried moving the dll filesincluding the QTMovie dll file to now avail.  Can anyone please help, as I am sure you all, like me, have thousnads of dollars and songs invested in this system and need a fix fast.  Can anyone please help???

Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
    Hey presto!!!
    IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
    Nuff said.

  • Running games and apps on an external drive?

I have a macbook pro with windows 7 using bootcamp and the hard drive partition is filling up. I can't really assign it any more space on the boot drive because I need it for what's running on the osx partition.
Is it possible to put some games or software on an external drive rather than on the boot drive and run them from there in order to save space on the boot drive?
I would use a 7200 rpm drive with a firewire 800 connection. Would this affect the performance of the games?
    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi Luis,
theat really depends on the games/apps you run.
During installation of these games/apps you might or might not get the oportunity to change the destination folder of where to install the game/app.
Some allow it to install them to a different folder/harddisk and some don't.
But there usually it still some parts that have to be installed on the Windows system partition (c:).
Also depending on the games/apps you might be able to move them after installation but most likely this will only work for a very few of them.
When using the external harddisk you might experience a slight decrease in speed, especially when large parts have to be read from that external HD, but it should be acceptable.

  • LabVIEW and write protected DLL files

    Hi,
We are building Labview dll's within a source controled environment (ClearCase). These dll's can only be modified in a particular view, but they should be useable in other views. The problem is that LabVIEW seems to be unable to open and run a write protected dll. I don't want to do any unreserved checkout, i want to use automatically the latest version of these DLL's, but they are always write protected.
Does anyone runs in the same poblem and solved it?
    Regards,
    Sunny

    Hello,
I know that the last message was post a long time ago, but I would be interested by a reply also, because I necountered exactly the same problem with Labwindows CVI 8.0 and clearcase 6.0. I mean :
    My executable calls some DLL.
the DLL are managed by clearcase and not checkedout.
I have an error launching the executable.
If I just copy/paste the source folder from clearcase to a temp directory, then CVI executes normaly the project. It is the same behavior if I checkout all dll called by the executable.
I thought that calling a dll requires only read access!!!
    Is anybody can help me?
    Regards,
    PFD

  • TS5376 For "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer", I followed the steps and there is no C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files..Also, after the update, I no longer show my disk drive when I load a CD.

After downloading the new Itunes update, my compter now shows error: "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer". I follwed the Apple fix / steps but it did not correct it. Also, after the update my disk drive is not recognized on my computer. If I load a CD, I cannot even access it.

See also Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes (similar to the advice above) and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies. E.g. TS2308: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    Hi Bill,
long story short, I have approx. 2800 clients with an old entry in WMI for updates that the sccm client cannot clear or run because they do not exist anymore, so the client will not run updates or use a task sequence because of this, so my script fixes this
and does a couple of other things, I have found another way to do this by running  a different script that uses WMI to call a cscript function that uses the wuafix.vbs that is coped to the machine, I am also changing the echo entries to output to a log
file instead so that I can track what client has run the fix andn which ones haven't.
If you have any suggestions then please let me know, nothing nefarious :)
    many thanks

  • HT1923 I have iTunes installed on a PC running Windows 7. When I downloaded an iTunes update, iTunes wouldn't open, and diplayed a "system error" message: MSVC80.dll file missing. Does this indicate a Windows 7 problem? Is it fixable?

Unable to open iTunes on PC running Windows 7. Error message: MSVC80.dll missing. ITunes had been working normally until I downloaded an update, and the error message appeared.

    Hello bhillblom,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
When you get to the step to uninstall iTunes, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.
You can find the full article here:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open

  • How Can I run a .vbs (Visual Basic Script) file on Linux?

    Hello, I have a doubt:
How Can I execute on Linux a .vbs file? I can't use wine cause it is not a .exe file.
    Is there any way?
    Greetings

    Mikko777 wrote:http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/visual-ba … linux.html learn to use google
Google works, yes ... if you know what you are searching for. Try this search: VisualBasic is not VBScript.
Here is what you will need (consult an attorney first):
    - Wine
    - Windows Scripting Host (WSH) 5.6* (available officially from MS website, but requires validation):
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta … laylang=en
    * There is an update to 5.7 also available form MS
    - You will also need (from your Windows installation):
    mfc42.dll
    - Once you have the files placed in your Wine '/system32' folder (via installer or extraction), you will need to register dll files. At minimum, I think you can get by with:
    wine regsvr32 /path/to/vbscript.dll
    wine regsvr32 /path/to/wshext.dll
Others may be required ... if you get more messages alerting you to register files, just repeat for each one necessary. Or register them all and be done with it.
Once you have WSH setup, you can launch the VBScript file by opening 'winefile' and double clicking on the script. From the command line, you will need to launch it with 'wscript':
    wine wscript "Z:\\home\\user\\.wine\\dosdevices\\c:\\Program Files\\test.vbs"
If you attempt to launch the VBScript with just:
    wine "Z:\\home\\user\\.wine\\dosdevices\\c:\\Program Files\\test.vbs"
you will get a message about 'BAD EXE Format' or similar.

  • Why won't Safari 2 display sites with .dll files?

My new powerbook, running OSX 10.4.3, and Safari 2.02, won't access my brokerage account. When I try to log in, I get a blank browser window, and it downloads a file with a .dll extension to my desktop. The problem is that it downloads the file instead of reeading it.
My 2 year old ibook (with OSX 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3.1) was able to see this site just fine, and no downloaded .dll files.

DLL files are for Windows and do not run on a Mac. Are there any instructions, readme files, or information about what the file is for?
What happens if you use Camino or Firefox? If the brokerage firm still wants to have you to install a .dll file, then I would say that the firm does not support OS X.

  • I keep on getting the message "missing .dll file" when I try to install Itunes on Windows 7 what is wrong ?

I am using Windows 7 (64) and keep on getting the message of "missing .dll files" after I attempt to install the latest version of ITunes. I attempted to install an earlier version and had the same results. I have uninstalled and reinstalled ITunes to no avail. I have queried this message on Google and found little to go by.
Can anyone help from here ?

This has just happened to me - again. Can't think what caused it. I uninstalled Quicktime a little while ago, maybe connected? I don't know. Uninstalling iTunes, or repairing, or a fresh iTunes install does not help
Even if you keep downloading and putting the dll files it keeps asking for in the sysWOW64 and/or System 32 folder, Apple Mobile Device Support will not not 'start' from Services.
Anyway, as well as itunes, you need to also un-install Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Bonjour, then reinstall the latest iTunes to get it all working again

  • CRVS2010 Beta - Error message wrong path to access "crdb_adoplus.dll' file

    Hi,
I just upgraded my VS2008 application to VS2010 and installed the latest "cr4vs2010" and "CRforNET40_x86" package but I'm having some problems.
When I compile my application I don't get any errors but as soon as I want to show a report I get the following error:
"Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\dotnet1\crdb_adoplus.dll' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."
On examination I can see is that I have a "dotnet" folder but not "dotnet1", as in the error message, and the "crdb_adoplus.dll' file does exist but in "...\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86" folder and not as per the error message.
So my question is why is VS looking in the wrong place and what can I do to fix that?
Also, I used "Dependency Walker" utility to examine "...\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\crdb_adoplus.dll' file and it tells me that "MSVCR80.DLL" and "IESHIMS.DLL" files can't be found.
I'm a bit puzzled that correct path was not set as part of VS upgrade (of my application) so I would really appreciate some assistance.
    Thanks,
         Michael

  • What to do with .dll files that Support told me to move to my desktop during troubleshooting

I have Windows 7.  I went to get into my iTunes after the latest iTunes update failed, and I got an error message about a .dll file that was missing.  So I went to the support site and followed the resolution steps to fix the problem.  The first part of the steps involved going into the iTunes file and moving all .dll files to my desktop which I did, then rebooted.  Still problems, so I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, and all is well.  But I still have all those .dll files on my desktop.  Can I remove them?  Do I put them back somewhere?
    Thanks.

If you get iTunes working properly again, it's safe to delete the files on the Desktop.
