Nvidia/nouveau drivers: monitor names are changing when switching

I am testing nouveau driver for nvidia and switch sometimes back to nvidia driver.
So far everything is OK, except the monitor names as given by the command output:
$ xrandr
DVI-I-0 .....
DVI-I-1.........
with the nividia driver I have 0 & 1 as monitor numbers, when I have 1 & 2 with the nouveau driver.
Is this the expected behavior? If not, how can I have same monitor number with both drivers?

DSpider, your posts are almost unrelated to what I asked. I've been developing web applications for quite a few years now and I pretty much know where flash is now. Also there are tons of video sites which only support video playback through flash, and tons of tons of sites with some kind of flash content. As for the gaming, as I said I play only 1 game, I won't install windows again just for 1 game. I said goodbye to windows about 6 months ago and don't plan on installing it again. I used to dual boot for the past 5 years though. If you haven't noticed, linux is being heavily discussed by the big companies recently. From your post I conclude what your everyday life is:
-go to school
-eventualy go out with friends
-play games on your pc
-watch videos only from youtube
-write unrelated comments in forums :D:D
-repeat from step 3 or eventually step 2
And why would you use firefox since its so buggy and slow and not as secure as google-chrome?
About downloading flash videos, one can do this without the need of external applications

This issue is found in the following scenarios:
1. When apple TVs are in the same vlan.
In the above example, as the both 10.240.160.33 and 10.240.160.32 are wired and they are in same VLAN, their multicast packets reach each other even though AirGroup is there.
So they are acting as sleep proxy server for each other. However, It should not cause any issue for mirroring application. When user selects a ATV(Confern-room-6/ios200-2) from his iPad for mirroring, it should be getting displayed on the ATV which ever he has chosen.
2. When the option sleep proxy is enabled.

CS6 Illustrator and InDesign colours are changed when the PDF is saved.

CS6 Illustrator and InDesign colours are changing when the saved PDFs are displayed on some different computers and for digital print output. I have ensured that the colours are all CMYK and tried different adjustments like preserving the numbers and the like but nothing is working. It prints properly on my inkjet and has displayed properly on different computers.

You need to read up on color management, color profiles and all that....

Subscription Services when Folder Names are Changed

Does anyone know what happens to a subscription if the folder name is changed?
For example, lets say we have a taxonomy with a folder in it called Machinery and I have subscribed to all the reports in that folder. What happens to the subscription if I decided to change the folder name to Supply Chain?

Hi,
If you subscribed to a folder, and then you change the name or rename it, you receive an email where you are notified about this event.
In any case, you continue receiving notification. It works fine.

Can business area change when we post a clearing document?

Hi all,
Is it possible to change the business area when we post a clearing document?
For example, we need to pay the line item that have business area 3000. Then we use transaction F110 to create a payment then a clearing docuement will be created with business area 3000. Can we configure it to change to Business area 1000 when we do the payment.
I tried to implement a FI substitution but Business area field cannot be changed(OSS Note 42615). we can do that by changing standard program but it is not recommended by SAP.
Any idea on how to do this? Configuration, BTE or any user exits? Point will be rewarded for any helpful answer.

I am in doubt because OSS Note 42615 said that GSBER (Business area) must not be substituted. Therefore, if you implement it and there is no problem, I will do the same.

Headers are changing when adding a new section between others

Hi!
I am compiling a colloquium program. For each lecture abstract, I have made a file with distinct headers. I open the page side tab, click on one page and copy it (Command+C). I click in the main file, in the page side tab, on the abstract which would be before the new one, and paste the new abstract (Command+V).
The new abstract is neatly pasted after the old one, but the headers are changed : it has the previous abstract headers. Worse, every abstract, whose each is in a distinct section, has this previous abstract header, even if I turned off the «Same headers/footers as before» option!
Is this a bug? Did I do something wrong?

I may have found an explanation to this problem.
When I put a one page document in the master document, every header I had written has been brought back! I think it is a dual page problem here. When the second page of a inserted document (left page) become an odd page (right page), it does not take in account the odd page of the inserted document, but the odd page of the section BEFORE the inserted document.
Does anyone want to test this?

Issue: The user name changed when switch to other links in SCN

Hi,
I just wanted to bring to the notice of the moderators (as I don't know where can I report for the IT related issues) that for the past few days I am facing a peculiar behaviour when I log into the SCN through Internet Explorer 8.0. This is also being faced by my peers too..:)
The issue is that when I login to SCN, I can see my user name on the top of the page(Home page). But when I switch to say 'Forum', the user name is changed and this is random. I kind of have access to his/her account.
Even I try to log off, nothing happens.. The only solution left is to close the IE and then try to login again.
Kindly have a look into this issue.

Ive (along with many others) noticed the same problem with the Forums about 2 years ago, where after log-in or clicking a certain thread I find myself in someone's else's id. And the id keeps changing from time to time with no end in sight.
The problem took about a couple of days to be rectified.

I have a current generation (mid 2012) MBP with Retina Display running ML 10.8.3. I also have a Dell U2413 monitor, confgured for
1920x1200 resolution, connected via a Thunderbolt to Display Port cable that came with the monitor.
When I switch displays, Adobe reader, Excel, and Powerpoint all have their window sizes change dramatically. Reader
shrinks to just the status bar and is tucked in the very bottom left hand corner (it took me quite some time to even see it
was there at all); Excel windows expand dramatically to be much larger than full screen, and Powerpoint windows shrink
to about 1.5" square. Other windows (Mail, Chrome, Safari, iTunes) change or move slightly but are more or less OK.
I know this problem is expected when switching to an external monitor with dramatically lower resolution (e.g. old In Focus
projectors) but I don't believe it should happen with a hi-res monitor like the one I'm using.
I have compared this behaviour with other users running same SW versions and external monitors with the same
resoultion and they don't see this problem so I'm guessing there's some configuration option or low level setting
that is messed up.
These window size changes happen going both from internal to external and external to internal. Any ideas?

Access Connections - IP doesn't change when switching locations

In my Access Connections setup, I have a mix of profiles; some using DHCP & some using static IPs.
I am experiencing problem when manually switching between profiles, where the IP address is not always changing as expected.
For example:
(all profiles are wired connections)
Home (DHCP)
IP address: Allocated by DHCP
Subnet mask: Allocated by DHCP
Default gateway: 10.0.0.1
DNS servers: Allocated by DHCP
Office 1 (Static)
IP address: 203.18.x.x
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.240
Default gateway: 203.18.y.y
DNS servers: 10.10.140.7, 10.10.140.12, 203.18.z.z

On many occasions when switching from, say, "Office 2" to "Home"; the static IP address for Office 2 (10.10.140.202) is not being replaced by a new IP allocated from my home router (which, by the way is configured to allocate IPs from the pool 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.4; so the old IP address should not be valid on that network).
What is even more interesting is when you take DHCP out of the equation, for example when switching from, say, "Office 2" to "Office 1" (both of which are static IP profiles). The IP address 10.10.140.202 (Office 2) should be replaced by the static IP 203.18.x.x (Office 1) in all cases. However on many occasions it is not, and I'm left with the previous IP allocated.
Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
I've found that by switching back and forth between profiles, it eventually resolves itself (although sometimes up to 3 or 4 switches is required).

AC 4.42 fail to assign a static IP when the OS is in spanish and the wireless device is Intel. In that case the problem was fixed with a patch that the support guys release.
In your case, I don't know my friend.
Have you tried using only Windows, without AC?

Album artwork does not change when switching tv seasons

With the new iTunes 11, television seasons are now grouped together. When switching the view from one season to the next, the artwork doesn't change, it remains on the first season. Is there a way to fix this so that the proper artwork is displayed for the proper season?

This manual process DOES work to add and save my album artwork. Unfortunately, this is a long process for over 9,000 songs.
I do not have an Album Artwork folder, but I do have an unknown Album Artwork file, not folder, any thoughts on this? One thing to consider for my situation is two things:
1. To separate my music files from my regular files, I keep my music files on the D:, away from my Itunes folder on my C:
2. To conserve space, I do not allow Itunes to make a copy of my files on my C:
Could either or both of these issues be the source of my problem? Should I remove Itunes and it's contents and reload the software and start from scratch?

Printer settings menu does not always change when switching printers

I am running OS 10.3.9 and also seen this issue on a 10.4 machine. When switching from one printer to another the printer options drop down menu does not always transfer to the correct menu for the newly selected printer. It stays at the menu for the last used printer. I am using several different Sharp printers as well as some HP models. The applications being used are Office 10 Word and Power Point. If anyone has seen this and has a fix I would greatly appreciate it.

I don't have a solution but have also noticed that the printer in the menu is sort of like spinning the wheel of fortune.
Hopefully there is a solution but my guess is that it has something to do with a printer preference file that can get hijacked by different printers and applications.
I have noticed that a printer driver when installed will usually appear as the default printer even if it was not selected as such. I have also notice that different applications will do different things with different printers so I hope someone has a solution.

Late 2013 macbook pro retina color profile changes when auto switching from integrated to discrete graphics card. Problem started after updating to 10.9.3

Same here. Really annoying because I have my screen calibrated for photo editing, which makes it much warmer than the default color profile. A lot of websites cause the graphics cards to switch for a couple of seconds, which causes the profiles to switched back and forth a few times, everytime. Really annoying, and dissapointing to see, considering Apple released like a hundred .3 betas.
You can use gfxCardStatus to make it stay on one graphics card over the other... Just remember to change it back when you're using a program that actually needs the descrete card.

Where the device name are saved when distributing a NI-DAQ executable?

1. I created a simple LabVIEW 2013 executable using NI-DAQ (c series module NI-9263 and USB compact DAQ 9171 chassis).
2. Then I created a LabVIEW installer with the following recommended installers:
- NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2013 SP1
- NI-DAQmx Core Runtime 9.8
3. I've installed it on a computer in a lab (no NI software installed on it yet).
4. In my application I have a "DAQ Physical Channel" control to select the hardware.
5. When I click on the arrow to select the hardware I don't see any choices (my hardware is plugged in the lab computer) and I can see the devices in device manager.
6. I entered manually the device name (same name as I assigned on the computer that compiled the executable) and ran the application just fine without any errors.
Where is the device name is stored on the lab computer and how does this work?
7. I made a modification to the simple executable to add hardware (with a new "DAQ Physical Channel") and I only compiled the executable and copied it to the computer lab. I'm not able to run it.... I'm getting some error from the hardware (can't remember the specific error).
8. I've searched for MAX and it's not installed....
What should I do to make it work?
This application is not critical right now, but I'd like to know how this works.
Feel free to ask for more detail.

Two ways to go about this.
First, for low mix systems I ALWAYS install max and all the DAQmx stuff is stored in MAX my installers then import the *.nce MAX config File and include all the DAQ software (Not just Base!)
For higher mix systems the DAQmx stuff (Chans, tasks, scales....) are persisted to the PROJECT (*.lvproj) then the app builder creates a NI DAQ file in the application build destination and the app looks for that file.
You can ALSO (with NI USB Devices) create a "Helper app" that hooks into NI Device Monitor and assigns a specific alias to a type of device when it is seen.

PDF attachments are changed when emailed

I have a user that whenever she creates or prints a PDF (Adobe 8 Professional) and then tries to email it within Adobe (going to file -> attach to an email), it converts to either a winmail.dat, .eml or a .mht file when the person receives it. It only does this when she sends to someone not using outlook. If she attaches the pdf outside of Adobe, then it works. Rich-text is turned off in Outlook and Adobe is patched and up to date. Any suggestions???? This is driving me crazy!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried changing the message format in Outlook to HTML?
