NWBC Roles

Hi Experts,
First of all I am functional consultant and need help in identifying the roles for NWBC 3. I am planning to use the new functionality in EHP4 called Reporting Financials 2 (see link below). It uses something called "Report Launchpad', do you know which roles in NWBC would call this report lauchpad? And one of the prequisites says "You have activated the BI Content of InfoArea Reporting Financials (EHP4)", could you please provide some information or guide me on how to do this.
And also are there any places where i can find NWBC roles pertaining to FICO and FSCM?

Thanks in advance

  • Benefits administration in ESS - EHP5 using NWBC roles

    Hi all,
I'm trying to find out if the Benefits Administration functionality in ESS can be run without SAP EP, using NWBC roles in EHP5.
It seems that this ESS functionality has not been migrated yet to Webdynpro ABAP.
    Can anyone confirm this?
Do you know of any alternative to using this functionality in this context (SAP ERP 6.0 EHP5 without SAP EP)?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Angel

Benefits functionality is not released under EhP5. The Benefits
functionality will be available under EhP6.
There is no alternative without SAP EP as it is tied to java role
Services available in Employee self-service (WDA) is listed here:

    Who is who
Enrollment and related applications (Enrollment, Open enrollment,
    Participation overview, Benefits participation)
    Skills Profile and Matchup
Sample processes for "Life and work events"
In EhP5, ESS role contains applications developed on webdynpro
ABAP technology - ESS ABAP role.
In ECC 6.0, ESS role contains applications developed on webdynpro
Java technology - ESS Java role .
These are 2 different roles but both of them are supported by
    SAP portal.
Benefits Participation Overview was part of ESS Java role which is
in ECC 6.0 but the participation overview application was not
added to ESS ABAP role in EhP5.
Hence, you won't see it in the ESS ABAP role which is in EhP5.
If you want to see the participation overview application you
need to assign the old ESS Java role. This means user would
    have 2 ESS roles:
    1) ESS Java Role(ECC 6.0).
    2) ESS ABAP Role(EhP5).
Once you assign the old ESS Java role you would again see the
participation overview application under Benefits area page.

  • Role Menu for ESS (WDA) in SAP NWBC

    Dear experts,
I am implementing ESS&MSS using SAP NWBC. For this use the following documentation:
Configuration of the Role Menu for ESS (WDA) in SAP NWBC - SAP Documentation
SAP delivers the composite role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2.
    1. Call up transaction PFCG and create or copy your customer-specific role based on the standard shipped composite role for ESS (WDA), SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2 in the customer name space (Z_*.
I have copied this role with the singles roles
My first question: Should modify my composite role for add a new folder that content two applications WDA customer or this should do it in the single role ? How Can do it?
    My second question:
What I dont can display the folder in top screen "Employee Self-Service"---"Employee Self-Service XX"---"Employee Self-Service2"(See Image leff)
    Thanks

    Hi Armin,
For NWBC you must place transactions under the second folder down (or at least this is how its works for NWBC for ERP roles). Standard NWBC roles have 'Role menu' as top folder and then (generally) one main folder under that - like 'Purchasing'. Transactions should go under this folder or under subsequent sub-folder.
There are additional parameters using right click 'Details for Net Weaver Business Client' under PFCG also - but assume your documentation has explained this to you.

  • Can we rename ABAP roles in GRC Process Control to adhere to naming convntn

    Hello,
We are working on a new implementation of the GRC Process Control 2.5 product. It comes with 11 standard roles. I wanted to change the names to adhere to our company's role naming conventions. Will this adversely affect any functionality. I know that in PC, there is a additional level of security that is maintained thru the NWBC. How will that be affected? And is it typical to have a non-sap security team maintain the roles/user thru the NWBC and have SAP Security maintain the ABAP users/roles?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Arvind:
We copied the standard delivered ABAP roles to our namespace, made a few additional changes and are using them no problem.  We also copied the NWBC roles to our namespace.  We have the default roles as reference.  We did this for consistency, but also because ABAP roles and App roles can change as the App roles did in SP04.  This way we compare the app roles before and after a SP to make sure we agree with any role changes introduced to default roles.  This way, we don't unknowingly introduce changes to our roles based on the changes SAP introduces to their roles at any given point.
As far as the tester role goes, it is at the Process level.  If you aren't sure go into the app under User Access => Roles and their tasks like you will assign it and restrict the selection to "proces".  You will see it is at the Process level.  As far as the rest goes, you seem pretty well versed in the security guide so I'm sure you know this, but as long as the level of the role is equal to or greater than the task you can assign it.  Ex:  You can assign a control level task to a Corporate level role but not a Corporate level task to a control level role.
    I hope this helps.

  • NWBC Reports

    Hi:
I am trying to determine the tables that the reports extract in NWBC. For example, the Issue Status report. I managed to find out that the structure that stores data for the report is GRFN_S_CY_F3, but I am not able to determine the tables which populate the data.
I have tried SE11 to search for database table but returned 0 records.
Can anyone help? Is there any generic way as I might need to determine the same for a number of reports as the purpose of me doing so is to determine the right tables to export into BW.

    Hi Filip,
Thanks for your answer. I am familiar with lunch pads and in the launch pad I have linked to the NWBC role I have checked and I can display the reports I can not see in the NWBC screen. I send you a picture. In the master data launchpad role, I only can display the reports with SysAlias equal to SAP-GRC.  (Attached picture)
Any idea of what can be hapenning?
    Thank you so much!

  • BEx Web Template in NWBC

I have create a NWBC role in PFCG with a menu item for a BEx web template with the URL <prt_protcl>://<prt_server>/<bi_launcher>?TEMPLATE=ZWAD_QMS_KPI. When i execute the BEx web template from the PFCG menu, everything works perfect. When I open the NWBC for HTML, the BEx web template menu item is not visible (All other menu items from PFCG appear in the PFCG menu).  I'm I missing something?
My system is ECC 6.0 EHP5.

    Hi John,
Note that only certain PFCG menu item types appear in NWBC, see the help doco for more info:

What type did you use? You may need to just use the Web Address.

  • OBN Error in MSS

    Hi,
We are using ESS/MSS in EHP7. I have configured Leave Approval workitems for POWL to appear in the Work Items powl query
    by folowing below blog.
POWL Inbox configurations for Manager Self-Service EhP5 and above
Leave approval workitems appear correctly in MSS inbox under Work Items powl query. But when I click on any individual workitem it throws an error.
There is no iView available for system "": object "Employee". For more information, contact system administrator.
I have seen the Work Overview workset in  my MSS role is having the iView Approve Leave Request and the iView has
Business Object "Employee" & Operation "Approve Leave Request" added under tab "Application as OBN Target".
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Arindam

    Hi Samuli,
Thanks a lot for your response!
I have not uploaded any NWBC role so far.
But I saw this below thread
New MSS Subsitutions in HR renewal
and understood that role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_NWBC_3 uses application config HRMSS_HOMEPAGE_1.
It already exists in my system and I have tested it. It gives Substitution Overview block in the homepage.
But I am using application config MANAGER_MSS_WDAC_POWL_INBOX.  Here I get the Substitution button on top of the workitem table if I choose the "Work Items" POWL query.
But my problem is in that query if I choose any leave approval workitem to open the approval popup,
it throws me the error "Business Object "Employee" & Operation "Approve Leave Request" added under tab "Application as OBN Target"."
If you still suggest me to upload the role, I will try.
    Please advise.
    Thanks

  • SAP ERP EHP 5 - Activating Embeded Analytics (dashboards)

    Hi
We (the basis team+BI team) have been trying to activate the dashboards that apparently come embedded in SAP ERP EHP 5.  To test the functionality, we were hoping to demo the Cash Management Dashboards.  Unfortunately non of the Dashboards are even listed on the NWBC (role cash management) after activation.  We have activated the Reporting Financials 3 and 2. And have activated the Dashboard in RSOR in our ERP system. We also ran the BI Content Activation (workbench). We have replicated all Source Systems.
We feel we are maybe missing something. Could someone please share some light with regards to the following understanding:
    1. We only need the ERP EHP 5 ABAP system (with BI content and BI Content Extension)
    2. No Portal or any java instances (with BI Java Components) is required
    3. A simple role (which one) should be enough to show the dashboards
    4. We are using Scenario 2 for dashboards (i..e we are not planning to create our own therefore do not need Xcelsius Designer)
    Your response will highly appreciated
    kind regards
    Ronny

For those struggling with the same, here's what I've found (and got to work) so far:
    1. BI Java is required (install the latest) .  So does the portal for Runtime environment for your dashboards
    2. Define the BI (Abap AS) system on the portal
    3. Run the BI Daignostic/service Desk tool to resolve any issues (e.g. Flash error - unable to access external data) Specifically the URL:
    http://<Host name >:<port numebr>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.supportdesk.default
    4. Take a look at this document (regarding setting up BEX WEB configuration)
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00c4742a-3a4b-2b10-b4ae-b03d08bcde6e?QuickLink=index&overridelayout=true&48558900359425
    5. Create a Role to access the reports from NWBC (transaction PFCG)
    6. If its CRM, make sure CRM interactive reporting is configured fully before you even begin trying to run any of the dashboards
    I hope this helps

  • HCM Processes & Forms in EccEhp7/EP7.4

    Hi all,
We are on SAP ECC EHP7, and SAP EP 7.4.
On EP, we installed business packages:  ESS WDABAP and MSS Add-on 1.0. The ESS/MSS are based on new WDA content, so there was no need to create JCO connections.
We are started developing and using HCM processes and forms, using adobe interactive forms.
to test the HCM P&F, is it the only way that testing can be done using SAP EP only?
I checked in EP, but the role HR Administrator is not available. do we need to install a special content into EP.
although we are in ecc ehp7/ep7.4, is HR Administrator role is based on Webdynporo Java iview or WDA iview, is it mandatory to use jCos,
For AIF based P&F, is it mandatory that approver accesses UWL in portal only.
instead of AIF, if we start using FPM based P&F, how can we test directly without Portal.
actually, we are just in development phase, we are the checking the options of handy way of testing end to end, the AIF based and FPM based P&F.
    thanks in advance.
    Madhu_1980

Since you are on the latest EhP it is better to go with the newly delivered start process application which documented @ Assignment of a Process to PFCG Roles - HCM Processes and Forms - SAP Library as mentioned by Deepak. The advantage being this application is capable of launching both AIF and FPM based forms and is based on WDA which SAP's preferred UI development technology for Business suite applications.
Most of the testing can be done directly using HRASR_TEST_PROCESS in DEV.
If the customer is ok with using NWBC in place of portal there is no need to use UWL. But NWBC HR Admin role uses POWL based workflow inbox in place portal UWL. However workflow scenarios should be tested from the portal UWL/POWL inbox - so as to ensure the complete process flow works seamlessly.
As long as you use WDA based applications I think JCos will not be needed.
Moreover with the note 1685257 - Upload of SAP delivered NWBC Roles to SAP Netweaver Portal you can port NWBC PFCG SAP_ASR_HRADMIN_SR_HCM_CI_4 role to portal role.
    Hope this helps.

  • ESS EHP5

    Hello Gurus,
I new to sap and completely new to sap ess...can someone pls help me sap EHP5 details...which has the technical details as well like technical name of iviews...standard roles etc...
    regds,
    ss

The first thing you should consider is that there are several platforms available to run ESS in EHP5
    1) Webdynpro ABAP EHP5 business package with a Portal
    2) Webdynpro Java EHP4 business package on a Portal - EHP5 unswitched
    3) Standalone EHP5 NWBC role - without a Portal - new concept
Firstly decide which version and platform you want to implement - also bear in mind that you can mix content from different BPs
but WDJ content is only available with a Portal installation
To help you choose what ESS version/content you want  look at the Business Package documentation for ESS BP 1.4 or BP 1.5 as follows
For ESS EHP4 Business Package content -->

For ESS EHP5 Business Package content -->

  • Roles in NWBC 4.0

    Hi all
I am new in NWBC 4 and I am having this problem about authorizations: I created a page with page builder successfully. I tried to use this page and on simple lookup object (customer for example): I get a message "XD03" is not present in user authorizations. I am a bit confused because I have profile sap_all. Anyway I created a role with XD03 (to make a try) but with no luck.
I think I'm missing some concept I cannot see. On doc I read there is a lot of pages about roles, but are all about "page builder" authorizations.
Can someone please give me an hint ?
    Thanks
    Gabriele

    Hi Gabriele,
If you want to see XD03 in NWBC, Just follow the instruction.
Go to PFCG & Create a Single role starting with Z or Y.
Below you can see Hierarcy & Role Menu
Select Role menu & click on create node, 2nd from the top.
Then click on Transcation and give T-code XD03.
    Save.
Open NWBC with same user name & password. You will get the result.
    Hope  this helps you.

  • Portal roles & NWBC

    Hi,
Can someone tell the context of the portal roles (PPM_admin, RPM_admin etc.) in Netweaver Business client. Suppose I want to restrict access to a user in NWBC what should be the procedure. For example I want to give a user only Portfolio Management role in NWBC, how will I achieve that in pfcg role. Currently the pfcg role SAP_BPR_PPM is assigned to all the users and hence all the users have the privileges of Project Management, Portfolio Management, REsource Management in the NWBC. For your information, I am using Netweaver Business client for HTML.
    REgards,
    Swami

    Hi Thorsten,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I got it. In the meanwhile I referred to the note 1405902. It talks about how to restrict certain tabs and features based on the roles. But they are all related to the portal roles. Could you please kindly let me know how to remove tabs and features when one uses Netweaver business client (for HTML) as the front end? I am opening another thread for this.

    Hallo SCN,
I've created to TWO composite role from SAP standard but one role menu tab displayed horizontally. Please refer the screen shots. I need to display all Tabs vertically. May I know how to do it?

In PFCG edit the role and click the button Other Node Details then if you notice under the heading Folder Options there is a check box below that Single Top Level if you uncheck that you should see the Tabs displayed Vertically as you described.
    See the screenshots below.
PFCG with Single Top Level selected.
ESS menu displayed as Single Top Level
PFCG with Single Top Level Unchecked
