OA Page is retrieving from Cache.
Hi,
I have imported one OA Page to the database metadata but later realized that I have imported it to a wrong folder in database metadata. I deleted that document and tried to import document in the correct folder but getting the following error:
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
ORA-06512: at "APPS.JDR_MDS_INTERNAL", line 1928
ORA-06512: at "APPS.JDR_MDS_INTERNAL", line 2018
ORA-06512: at line 1.
Interesting point is that I can still access the deleted document from the Apps Environment. Just thinking that Apps must be picking this up from some Cache but unable to locate the cache. Apache bounce has already be taken by DBA.
Could someone please let me know the location of this Cache in middle-tier ? and point out why my import statement is getting error out in middle-tier.
Thanks,
Sumit
Hi,
I guess you need to bounce the middle tier to clear the Page cache..
Ask your DBA to bounce the middle tier.
Stop the instance
cd $INST_TOP/admin/scripts

OLAP-Cache filling and report retrieval from cache
Dear All,
I am expecting good information from you guys in regards to process of OLAP-Cache filling and retrieval process.
Let's say, we have few selectios as below to fill cache.
selection 1:
Calmonth : 201006
Plant : A1 to A3.
OLAP cache is filled with the above selection1.
Selection 2:
Calmonth : 201006
Plant : A4 to A5
OLAP cache is filled with the above selection2.
When I am exeuting a query with the selections as below, how the data will be retrived? Is it from Cache memory or DB?
Selection: Calmonth 201006 and Plant A3 to A4.
Would be really Appreciate If I get some valuable information.
Regards,
KSThanks for valuable information.
I have used the mode as "Persistent Cache per Application Server" and " Transparent Table (BLOB)"
What I am realizing here is, If the query selection is different from the cache selection, it is reading it from DB though the requested data is availabe in cache as per the below eg.
Cache Memory:
Selection1: Calmonth : 201006 and Plant : A1 to A2
Selection2: Calmonth : 201006 and Plant : A3 to A4.
Query Selection:
Calmonth : 201006 and Plant : A2 to A3.

Retrieve from cache or server: what is Firefox's logic
I clicked on a hyperlink to visit a web site that I had not visited for a couple of months. Firefox showed me the page as it was when I last visited it.
I pressed F5 and the page updated to the latest version.
I don't seem to have this problem with other websites; just this one.
Does anybody understand the logic Firefox uses when determining whether to display a page from the cache or to get the latest page from the web server?
Using Firefox 10; Windows XPThank you cor-el. The first link mnot is particularly useful. But what I have learnt is that caching is a black art. The logic is influenced by the browser logic, the browser cache size, the web servers caching rules and the html on the page. Impossible for the user to control; very difficult for the web page author.
So even if I were to understand Firefox's logic it would not help me much. -
How to get fresh jsp 'page' rather than from cache?
Hello
I am using about 5 jsp pages. some of the jsp call other JSPs. When a jsp calls another jsp (by button clicking), the target jsp opens but it does not shown the fresh contents. I have to make it fresh by clicking the fresh botton of IE explorer. How can I get fresh jsp when it is called from another jsp? Will be grateful for any help.
I am using IE5 and tomcat4.0You need to tell IE not to cache your pages. For IE 5 something like this should work:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>---</TITLE>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1">
</HEAD>
<BODY>
</BODY>
<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1">

We have to close vulnerabilities for PCI & Cybertrust certification. We have upgraded users running Firefox to version 7.0.1 but we are still receiving the message: Mozilla Firefox SSL Certificate Validation Security Weakness. Researching the issue, it appears to be related to certificates not being revalidated when loading HTTPS pages from cache. The bug report I found is:
Bug 660749 - Firefox doesn't (re)validate certificates when loading a HTTPS page from the cachecookies.squite answer is Today at 5:15 PM .
New profile, same problem.
We've already established it is not a add-ons problem but obviously there will be less add-ons in this new profile to help exclude.
Since there is two PC profiles on the PC, I tried the second profile, same problem. Used the RESET FF function on the second PC profile...same thing...even followed the instruct for uninstall &re-install...same problem.
(3) different virus scanners, no hard core problems.
Suspect how I have something in Windows setup that no one else is using? -

which i dont want and i want the browser to display the message the page has expired

Retrieving documents from cache server using Bapi_Document_Checkoutviewx
Hello,
how can I retrieve the documents from cache server instead from content server, which are stored in SAP R/3 system.
I use the bapi "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEWX" in a Rfc-Client Programm to retrieve the documents. This BAPI retrieves the documents allways from content server and don't use the existent cache server.
Thanks for any help!
BirolHi Birol,
Can you please tell me is the content you have used in that "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEWX programme"????

10gAS 9.0.4.1
Reports 9.0.2.0.3
First Issue:
I am trying to reuse reports from cache. I have caching turned on in my rep_<server>.conf file, and the following entry in my cgicmd.dat file:
rep17: report=<report name>.jsp <parameter>=%1 desformat=pdf destype=cache server=<report server> paramform=no ssoconn=<rad> tolerance=30
Each time I run the report, a new copy is generated in the cache directory. The report returned to me is the new copy. Should the report server not retrieve an earlier copy of the report as long as it was generated within the last 30 minutes?
Second Issue:
When I run the report URL in Internet Explorer (version 6.0.2800.1106CO), 2 copies of the report output are created in cache. When using Netscape (version 7.2), only 1 copy of the report output is generated in cache. What are the issues with IE that cause two copies of the report output to be generated?Hi Birol,
Can you please tell me is the content you have used in that "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEWX programme"????

How do I prevent users from caching their sign in credentials on OWA page
I am using Forms based authentication and want to prevent users from caching their credentials on the OWA page.
Is there an easy way?Hi,
Forms-based authentication enables a sign-in page for Outlook Web App that uses a cookie to store a user's encrypted sign-in credentials in the Internet browser. So this authentication method will force to cache their credentials in the Internet
browser for some time. The workaround is what Willard Martin suggested.

How to refresh the current page when retrieving data from database
hi all
in my application i want to navigate from different tables to different forms. The data in the table and in the forms is comming fromthe database. when i select a navigation link to database of a form it is connecting to database. so im manually refreshing the refresh button of I.E. which is big headache. so is there any way to refresh my current table or form dynamically at run time to retrieve from database
Thanks and regards
khajaHi,
Refreshing a connection to Database means re establishing your connection each time.It will be load for the DB to load the data every time generally not advisable to do.
Inorder to get the value from the DB you have load the driver and connect it using fireplug with the view for navigations.
for the same refer this link.

Page Zero (0) - Regions Caching / Page Caching not available
Hi,
My page zero display information from a calendar table (fiscal year, etc.). This information will be the same all day long (get updated at midnight). It's not possible to enable caching of regions on page zero. It's also impossible to enable caching of the page zero.
Why?
Thanks,
Louis-Guillaume

Good question. We have asked ourselves this and are considering removing the restriction in 4.0. I think it initially had to do with preventing unwanted side effects and anomalies although none of us can recall the details right now. We will have to carefully look at ways to make this something developers can use easily while preventing strange results. First of all, caching of page 0 doesn't make sense. You want to be able to cache regions on page 0. Now, say your page 0 has two regions, P0_CACHED and P0_DYN (one cached, one dynamic). And your page 10 has region P10_CACHED. When page 10 is rendered, you'll get:
P0_CACHED
P0_DYN
P10_CACHED
That looks okay, you get one cached region from page 0, one dynamic region from page 0, and one cached region from page 10. Of course you have controls with which to purge any individual region from the cache so you can cause P0_CACHED to be refreshed whenever you like.
But say page 20 is a cached page. When it renders you'll get:
P0_CACHED <-- not from the page 0 region cache but from the page 20 page cache, regardless of the "stale-ness" of the page 0 cache
P0_DYN <-- not rendered dynamically from page 0 but retrieved as part of the page 20 page cache. But this content may be different from the content for the same page 0 region displayed on page 10 one second ago or one second from now.
P20_DYN <-- from the page cache as is normal for a dynamic region on a cached page
Hardly a thorough treatment, I realize. Just wanted you to know some of the aspects we have to consider. We will also have to read this thread again to come back up to speed: V3 Caching - any more info? .

Slow content retrieval from content repository on Weblogic8.1 portal server
The performance of content retrieval from content repository on Weblogic8.1 portal
server is very slow. Image retrieval takes too much time. Is there any solution
or workaround to improve the performance.More information is required to help you.
What is the time for retrieval? What is the time for the entire page load?
What database are you using?
How many Nodes are in the repository?
What do the Node types (a.k.a. Object Classes) look like? How many
properties per Node?
If using Oracle or MSSQL, did you run statistics.sql?
(http://google.bea.com/search?restrict=wlp81&ie=&q=statistics.sql&site=bea&output=xml_no_dtd&client=bea&access=p&lr=&btnG.y=0&btnG.x=0&ip=216.148.48.12&proxystylesheet=http%3A%2F%2Fdev2dev.bea.com%2Fimages%2Fdev2dev.xsl&oe=&filter=p)
Have you adjusted or disabled the content caches?

On some pages the text from more than one paragraph stack up on top of each other, like writing something then writing something else over the top of it. Some pages will run text and pictures together, like a car rear-ending another or a train pile up. Other pages will cut an image or text short, i.e. it will display a portion of the top of the image or text but not the rest. This happens on Amazon for example, the section where it says "Customers who looked at this also looked at" will allow only a certain amount of the upper portion of the description immediately below the picture of the product but below that section everything is fine until I get to another section displaying more products and their descriptions and then it cuts the bottom portions off again. I've noticed this behavior mostly in the sections with product photos, the text sections seem okay. YouTube also displays this behavior. It's even doing it on this page right now. Below this box I can read "The more information you can provide the better chance your question will be answered " , but directly below that in the next sentence I can see the start of it with "Troublshootin" and the "Automatically Add" in a green field covering the "g". The next clear text is "A window will open in the top corner. Click Allow, and then click Install. If the automated way doesn't work, try these manual steps." I tried turning of pre-fetching, clearing history, cookies, and cache, scanning for malware with Avast and Windows Defender all to no avail. It began when I upgraded from dial up to DSL via AT&T Uverse. I have a Motorola NVG510 modem. The modem was replaced an hour ago along with new dedicated lines and DSL/Phone splitter from the box by an AT&T technician to make sure my incoming lines were up to par. He ran a connection test and verified everything is up to standards. IE does not display this behavior. I am running Firefox20.0.1 and all previous versions have acted the same way since I upgraded to DSL about 3 months ago.
If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.
*Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
*NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/ -
How to set cookie value in one page and retrieve in another page using setA
How to set cookie value in one page and retrieve in another page using setActionListener?
I have tried with following code srcpage.jspx->destpage.jspx
srcpage.jspx
<af:table value="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.collectionModel}"
var="emp" rows="#{bindings.EMPView1.rangeSize}"
first="#{bindings.EMPView1.rangeStart}"
emptyText="#{bindings.DepartmentsView1.viewable ? 'No rows yet.' : 'Access Denied.'}">
<af:column sortProperty="EmployeeName" sortable="false"
headerText="Cookie Testing">
<af:commandLink text="#{emp.EmployeeName}" action="success">
<af:setActionListener from="#{emp.EmployeeName}"
to="#{cookie}"/>
</af:commandLink>
</af:column>
</af:table>
espage.jspx
<af:outputText value="Test Cookie Value: #{cookie}"/>
,Here Test Cookie Value prints the following instead of its original String value
{JSESSIONID=javax.servlet.http.Cookie@7da288, oracle.uix=javax.servlet.http.Cookie@399f62}
I have passed employee name "Robert" to cookie in srcpage.jspx,but it prints "JSESSIONID....." instead of "Robert" in destpage.jspx
Thanks in advance
KaleeHi,
"cookie" is a reserved name. If you want to write to a session scope attribute called "cookie" then you have to call #{sessionScope.cookie}. If you want to use EL to set and read from cookies then you will have to use
#{cookie.cookieName}
Note that #{cookie} writes to and returns a map
