Can we make OA framework page read only just like we do in Forms.

Like forms in OAF there is no default functioality by which you can make the entire page read only, in fact you need to each and every field and make it read only via personalization. Also if you need to some fields read only based ona business logic, you would have to go for extensions.

Without customizing, this may be accomplished via Permission List Security.
Go to PeopleTools - Security - Permission List
Select the desired Permission List. Click on the Pages tab.
Find the menu and click on "Edit Components" hyperlink.
Find the Component on the List and click on the "Edit Pages" hyperlink.
Click on the Display Only check box for each page in the component you wish Display Only.
If that does not sufice, you may use PeopleCode to set the Field DisplayOnly property to true for those editable fields that you wish not to be.

Make certain fields in the Account Detail Page Read-Only based on a Checkbo

We would like to make certain fields on the Account Detail Page Read-Only based on a checkbox that is on the Admin Account Detail Page. The fields we are looking to make read-only are Account Name, Primary Address, Phone Number.

I think you'd need to use dynamic page layouts for this. Look at the Account type values, if you are already using it then replicate those values you have so if you have Business and Personal make it Business Read-only and Personal Read-only.
When you are ready to lockdown those fields change the Account type from Business to Business Readonly and have the page layout for this screen with Account type, Name, Primary address and phone number as read only. You will a separate page layout for yourself so that Account Type stays as writable for you.
You will need to check if you can have Account Name as read only as it is a required field.

Is there any authorization group which can be customized to take care of this situation?
For Product Assignment block in DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT method of class CL_CPGOE_AB_OVELPRODUCTS_IMPL (Component : CPGOE_ABLOCKS :: View : OVELProducts) it is checking some authority. Any pointers where those authorities are maintained will be helpful.
Creating a new configuration is not helping as the views are 'Table View'.
We are looking for an approach which will avoid coding or involve minimum coding.

im working on a site,i make a web page based on jsp,that page has a download file,i want the authorized user can download that file,other can see that file as read only mode,but can't download,so plz provode me some program to make jsp page as read only.

ya well i want that other can see that file,but only authories users can download that page or file.unauthories user can see that page or file,but can't download.
basially assume that file might be having some course that can download by authoried users.

like that for OAF page do we have any option to make the entire page query only. can OAF personalization be used for this?

There is no such functionality... in OA Framework, by which u can turn all the fields on a page to read only by some page layout region property. You would have to set the read only property to true for each bean in the page.

Make the Custom page read only depending

Hello all,
Is there anyway to make a custom page readyonly for some users? I know we can set rendered to false for each region but i'm wondering if we have a property for the whole page.

Is it a 11i or R12
if it is R12 it is easy just passing the region where you want to make it read only or for the entire page, pass the top level region.
If it is 11i, you need to copy paste the sample code and call it from your Process request after you did the user check.
Btw, instead of user check, create a responsibility and assign that responsibility to those users and check for that responsibility to avoid any hard code in User list side.

How to make a page READ ONLY / all fields are DISABLED ?

Hi all,
I am using ONE page to do ADD/EDIT/DISPLAY data. When users are in DISPLAY mode, I want all fields on the page to be read only / disabled.
How is the best approach to do that ?
(other than going to every fields and set the ReadOnly/Disabled property)

My business logic is somewhat different - I don't do this for new/editted rows, but based upon other security. You could certainly set something in your backing bean based upon a user clicking "new" or "edit"

Read Only page

Hi,
Is there a way to make all the fields in a page read only - say based on a variable input from a task flow? I don't want to check for this variable in all the fields. Is there a way to achieve at top level?

You could probably try to write a recursive function which sets the readonly property programmatically and call that from wherever you want.
I have not tried, but you could probably try it. Sample code :

How to make a page in read only

I am using 11.1.1.4, I am having a requirement to display all the components on my page read only when first time page loaded, By clicking on 'Edit' button I have to make all components in editable. I am using Transient View object to render various components on my page. I have 50 components approximately on my page. How can I make page read only with very minimal changes?

APEX 4 Bug: Wrong quickpicks in Item Page's Read Only section

This bug is an easy one
In Edit Page Item page, Read Only section, the predefined option list (now quickpicks) is as follows:
[PL/SQL] [item=value] [item not null] [request=e1] [page in] [page not in] [exists] [none] [never]
But if you look carefully, Conditions section has same quickpicks. Right quickpicks for Read Only should be:
[PL/SQL] [item=value] [item not null] [request=e1] [page in] [page not in] [exists] [always] [never]

Read-only radio button or checkboxes save as null

Hi,
I have a form with some fields that are editable by 1 group of users and read-only for another group in certain conditions.
Before the header there is a fetch process to retrieve values from tables. So most fields (read-only & editable) are populated including checkboxes & radio buttons.
All users can edit at least 1 field on the form.
When the save button is pressed a PL/SQL process runs to save the data.
The save works if the field is editable.
If the field is read-only and text it also works.
But if the field is a radio button or checkbox a null is saved in the table.
Any suggestions on how to get the PL/SQL to pick up the read-only radio buttons and checkbox values?

I had the same problem in my application and I found another solution instead of using two items. I'm using a computation on page processing that makes a select on my table to get the value for the checkbox. I'm doing this with the same condition as my read-only condition on my checkbox item so I can get the database value when it is lose in the submit process.
Also, I found a difference in the html code between the read-only state of the item and the standard state.
Original state : name="p_v07" (7 because it's the seventh item on my page)
Read-only state : name="checkbox"
I tried to modify this using firebug in execution of the page but without success, the problem is still there.

Two questions: Event on a Date Picker and Read Only on a full page?

I make use of this very informative board to develop an application but i have been unable to find info on these two topics. Sorry if it has been already discussed extensively.
Using HTMLDB 2.2 for now.
=>First question:
I have a date picker item with an event
onChange="resaStatusChange();"
in the HTML Form Element Attribute field.
The event is triggerring if i put a new data in the field but does not trigger if i use the picker.
Is it a standart behaviour? Is there a way to trigger the event when new data is provided through the date picker?
=> Second question:
One page in my application has to be used either to only display information or as a mixed displaying/entering data sheet.
When the context is appropriate to use the page as a simple display (testing both global authorization and data to be displayed), is there a way to put a read only attribute on the full page instead of putting the read only conditions through each and every item of the page?

I never used it on a whole page, only for regions. So maybe you have to make some changes.

Querying up AR Customer OA page in read-only mode for a Single Customer

We are building a Custom Form in which associated Customer <defined in AR> would be queried up.
Now we want to give an option to the User to view the complete details of the Customer. We would be giving a menu option in Tools 'View Customer' thru which he would see the Full Customer Details. <AR Customer OA page>
We have two requirements
1> The Full Customer Details should show up in Standard OA Customer Page the moment page comes up. The user should not be required to query the details.
2> It should be read-only and user should not be able to update any field.
How can we achieve this requirement? I did some RnD but did not see any place in EBS where we display the Customer Page in read-only mode and that too quried up for one particular customer.
