Querying up AR Customer OA page in read-only mode for a Single Customer

We are building a Custom Form in which associated Customer <defined in AR> would be queried up.
Now we want to give an option to the User to view the complete details of the Customer. We would be giving a menu option in Tools 'View Customer' thru which he would see the Full Customer Details. <AR Customer OA page>
We have two requirements
1> The Full Customer Details should show up in Standard OA Customer Page the moment page comes up. The user should not be required to query the details.
2> It should be read-only and user should not be able to update any field.
How can we achieve this requirement? I did some RnD but did not see any place in EBS where we display the Customer Page in read-only mode and that too quried up for one particular customer.

Please let me know if find any solution for this. We have a similar scenario in which we need to call the customer Page with all the inforamtion populated, related to one customer.

I want to make the Purchase Orders form as query only for a single user. I tried by giving 'Query_only=Yes' in the parameters section. I am getting 'FRM-04151: You cannot query records here' message more than 10 time. I know we get this message and this is applicable to all the users. But this message is comming more than 10 times.
Is there anyway that I can restrict the Query only mode to a single user and please suggest about the message also.

How to display the "display values" in READ Only mode for a SHUTTLE

I have a form item of type *'Shuttle'* and using the following LOV.
   select DEPTNAME d, DEPTNO r
    from DEPTIn normal mode..it displays the department name and internally store the Deptno..
Now I converted this item to Read Only mode using Read Only Condition Type
the problem is as soon as it becomes read only...it displays the deptno....not the department name
            Department-   10:20:30How can I display the "display values" i.e the actual department name in read only mode..

It seems feature. Shuttle is span tag when it is read only.
Work around could be that
you compute display as text item with LOV display value according shuttle session state and show shuttle and this item conditionally depend case

check the administrator guide in your SAP Business one->Documntation->system setup->Administrator guide...
but removing DB read only user is impossible.....

Read-Only mode for a Essbase DB

Is the a way to put my Essbase Db with Historical values in read-only?, I found that the Maxl Archieve option will do but I don't know if this is only for backup.

If you want to put the entire database into read-only mode, SoL (love that name) gave you the right direction.
If you only want to put part of the database into read-only mode, e.g., 2007 through 2009 data, you can use READ filters to do this.

Fields in read-only mode for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC6.0

Hello,
This is regarding the query for BP transaction in upgrade from 4.72 to ECC 6.0.
While creating BP / Changing BP system is disabling the fields in compnay code & sales area option. There is a SAP not provided 907860; and specified that the proplem is because of the delta customizing.
All the customization settings are as per the note. And the Synchronization Control is also activated. But still the fields are disabled only.
I have checked the field settings also in Cross-Application-Components & Logistic-Genral.
But these are not working for compnay code & sales area data.
please let me know if anyone has faced this type of problem / found any solution on this.

This setting allows you to activate synchronization of BP with R/3. Not maintaining the values may result in certain fields being read-only in BP.

How to provide a LINK on normal TEXT field in read only mode

Hi,
I have a TEXT item and that is used for only url purpose.
so a user can enter something like http://www.abc.com in that field.
So when I am in read only mode for that item, I want a link also on that text..
how can I do that.

You could create a pl/sql expression computation on the TEXT item which will convert the value shown for the field to be a HTML link

2) If other user (YYYY) logs in online mode then it should open in online mode for other user (YYYY).

I don't think it's possible, can go with metadata dictionary option which is also help to analysis RPD.

Opening the file in read only mode

hi all,
i am using
i want to open any type of files in read only mode using host command.so first i am setting the attribute to read only and then opening the file. But still the opened file is editable. i have written like below

Along with the above the files which i opened with the help of above said code those files i am not able to delete also.(i have to delete the selected file)
i thing when i am setting the attribute something is going for a mess!

what i am doing is i have three button in my layout 'save','view' and 'delete'.
1.so when user press 'save' button after selecting the file then the file gets saved into the specified.
2. when user press 'view' button the file has to open in read only mode.
for this i have written above mentioned code(but still i am able to edit the file)
3.when user press 'delete' button the file has to be deleted from the specified location.
so my problem is after setting file to read only mode, i am able to edit but i am not able to delete it.
What i am using to set the file to read only mode is right?

GPO settings - documents in sharepoint 2007 sometimes open in read-only mode - needs IE reset to fix

Hi,
We've got an intranet running on SharePoint 2007.
We also enforce alot of group policies to our users.
But there is a problem that keeps reoccuring:
On random moments, when a user tries to edit a document on any random document library in SP 2007, it gets opened in read-only mode.
The only temporary fix we found for this is resetting the IE settings in Internet Options -> 'tab' advanced -> Reset IE settings... and pressing Reset.
We think it is some GPO setting that we have malconfigured or forgot to configure and we hope that someone could point us in a direction to troubleshoot or even solve this.

I also suspect that there might be issue with IE plug-in so could you confirm that? you can also tell su what plug-in you see in IE.

SQL> ALTER DATABASE OPEN READ ONLY
this will open database for read only mode for all user
i want to give read write access on database to one user

Hi,
Alter database open read only;
this should work fine and everything will be in read only mode. Hence if any auditing is going on and audit_trial=db then it fails to open the database in read only mode.
If you want to control only users to stop writing to it, you may remove tablespace quotas for those users. Also, you may control them through grants. Remove any current grants assigned to them or to roles through which the grants are assigned.
Several ways to do this. If you tell us the particular scenario then we might help in getting a solution.

Opening a container in read-only mode (DB_RDONLY, setReadOnly())

I have one process access a container in normal mode and another accessing it in read-only mode (XmlManager::openContainer with DB_RDONLY or XmlContainerConfig. setReadOnly(true) ), both with transactions. Is this:
(1) wrong (potentially dangerous);
(2) pointless (no benefits for the read-only process);
(3) reasonable (potential benefits for the read-only process)?
Whatever the answer, why is it so?

There is a requirement to male an descriptive flexfield (in Puchasing PO Headers) i read only mode for all the users.

Query faild against database that is opened in read only mode

I am quering against a database that been opened in read only mode (10g version)
SQL> select controlfile_type,open_mode,database_role from v$database;

i am getting the following error:

and only in the clonning the database the problem exists.

Object can become invalid, if the underlying objects are dropped/invalidated.
So even if you create or validate the underlying objects these objects by themself do not become valid. You have to either make them valid or you should use it atleast one time as select/desc or any other query so that Oracle implicitly make it valid.
Your source datatabase has valid synonym because after dropping/creating you must have selected that synonym atleast one, but this selection procedure would be after you copied your data to the target database.
