OAF error java.lang.IllegalAccessError when deployed to R12 instance

Hi All,
I am retrofitting OAF Application from 9.0.3 to 10.1.3.3.0. There are two external jar files used in it ( commons-logging.jar ; commons-jexl-1.1.jar ) . It works fine when launched with JDEV after I placed both the jar files in jdevbin/j2ee/home/applib directory. But when I deploy the application to Oracle Application instance R12.1.3, it throws the following error.
Exception Details.

It seems that application is not able to recognize the jar files. Should I place these files in a particular directory in UNIX Box ?? I have extracted the jar one by one in the $JAVA_TOP. Also I have tried placing the jar files in $COMMON_TOP/java/lib directory.
Any pointers to solve this issue would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Abhishek

Hi,
This issue was occurring because I was using external jar files in my Apps version 12.1.3 . And the external jar file may not be compatible with the latest version of Apps.
So I removed the dependency of external jar files from my application and I coded the necessary functionality in my OAF Application itself. I did not get any proper solution for it.
May be you can look forward to remove the dependency if possible and use it for your application by writing your own piece of code.
Thanks,
Abhishek

  • Java.lang.IllegalAccessError when trying to instantiate a model

    Hi all,
    In our java web dynpro project, we are using models of type "adaptative web service model".
    We are using the wsdl reference to build the model.
    The endpoint for each service is different in each environment DEV, QAS or PRD.
    To set the proper endpoint to each service we are using the
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.model.webservice.gci.WSTypedModelClassExecutable.wdSetInvocationModifier
    method to set a custom implementation of IWDWSInvocationModifier for all those web service based models.
    This implementation is basically done on method
    IWDWSInvocationModifier.doModifyInvocation()
    This method makes a call to a java web service (ServiceSearcher), and this web service searches in UDDI server for the proper endpoint to be set.
    This custom implementation is encapsulated in one specific DC (ServiceSearcherClient), and is working pretty fine.
    The problem is that, sometimes, in another DC (Astec), when trying to execute the custom
    IWDWSInvocationModifier.doModifyInvocation()
    set to a web service based model, we got this error.
    java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method net.weg.soa.client.servicesearcher.FindUrlResponse.createModelClassFactory()Lcom/sap/tc/webdynpro/model/webservice/gci/IWSTypedModelClassFactory; from class net.weg.soa.client.servicesearcher.ServiceSearcherModel
    Actually we could not isolate the cause of this. This seems to start occurring when we deploy something by CBS (when we activate some component that uses ServiceSearcherClient).
    This problem sometimes does not occur in all projects of DC Astec that uses ServiceSearchClient. Sometimes the Main project has this error, but when executing some other project (Materials, for example), it works on the same execution time. It seems that each project references an individual jar for its used DC's, and one has problem, another doesn't.
    We already found that most of times this problem can be solved going to SDM, proceeding undeploy of all components of DC Astec and CD ServiceSearcherClient, and proceeding a manual deploy (with NWDS).
    This has been a big problem for our team, we already spent two weeks trying to understand what is happening and our tries are ending now. Actually in PRD environment we deployed all those DC's manually with NWDS to put the system working, otherwise it does not work.
    If some of you have any idea, we will appreciate.
    Regards.
    roberti

    Oppened an OSS and found that nor SAP know the cause. Many deploy, undeploy and other changes, and it was corrected.
    regards.

    I know it may be hard to throw away all this code, but consider using the jakarta fileupload component.
    I think it would simplify your code down to
    // Create a factory for disk-based file items
    FileItemFactory factory = new DiskFileItemFactory();
    // Create a new file upload handler
    ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(factory);
    // Parse the request
    List /* FileItem */ items = upload.parseRequest(request);
    // Process the uploaded items
    Iterator iter = items.iterator();
    while (iter.hasNext()) {
        FileItem item = (FileItem) iter.next();
        if (item.isFormField()) {
            processFormField(item);
        } else {
            // item is a file.  write it
            File saveFolder = application.getRealPath("/file");
            File uploadedFile = new File(saveFolder, item.getName());
            item.write(uploadedFile);
    }Most of this code was hijacked from http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/using.html
    Check it out. It will solve your memory problem by writing the file to disk temporarily if necessary.
    Cheers,

  • Urgent - java.lang.NullPointerException when deploying a WAR file

    Hello
    I am trying to deploy a WAR file on 9iAS rel 2 using the Enterprise Manager. On the web page, I provide the .war file along with application name and url mapping. When I click on deploy, i get an error back which just says java.lang.NullPointerException. There is no stack trace.
    Until now, I have been working on my own PC using tomcat, and the war file works fine in tomcat.
    I am presuming that there will be a log file where more information will be available, but I do not know where the log file is kept. The Oracle 9iAS is installed on Solaris.
    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Jay

    Problem Solved
    The problem was the web.xml file which contained some elements that are only valid for servlet 2.4 (used on tomcat) but not on 2.2(used in oracle).
    Jay.

  • Java.lang.NullPointerException when deploying

    My developers are running into an issue when deploying onto our BPM cluster. At times deployment fails giving these errors. Redeploy the same code immediately it works. It seems like it's only failing on the second managed server though...

  • Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError when deployed to 9iAS 9.0.3

    Hi there!
    After deploying a small web app developed in JDeveloper9.0.3.2 to Oracle9iAS OC4J 9.0.3, I get an error when trying to create a record using EditAction create() method:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    at oracle.jbo.html.struts11.actions.EditAction.create(EditAction.java:98)
    What gives? ;-)
    I assume it has something to do with incompatible BC4J library versions?
    PS. Addition of new records using ViewObject.createAndInitRow() elsewhere in the application works fine
    (Apologies for the repost, I entered an incorrect subject last time)

    Sorry, forgot to mention that I did try that, and this is the output I get:

  • Java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError when deploying web service

    Hi there,
    I'm trying to deploy a jax-rpc web service and get a java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError error when I use org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient with the following deploy.wsdd file. The funny thing is the Web Service is deployed and listed in AXIS. Can anyone help me to resolve this.
    <!-- Use this file to deploy some handlers/chains and services      -->
    <!-- Two ways to do this:                                           -->
    <!--   java org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient deploy.wsdd          -->
    <!--      after the axis server is running                          -->
    <!-- or                                                             -->
    <!--   java org.apache.axis.utils.Admin client|server deploy.wsdd   -->
    <!--      from the same directory that the Axis engine runs         -->
    <deployment
        xmlns="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/"
        xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java">
      <!-- Services from FlightInfoServiceIFService WSDL service -->
      <service name="flightservice" provider="java:RPC" style="rpc" use="encoded">

          <parameter name="wsdlServiceElement" value="FlightInfoServiceIFService"/>
          <parameter name="wsdlServicePort" value="flightservice"/>
          <parameter name="className" value="flightCompany.rpcservice.FlightserviceSoapBindingImpl"/>
          <parameter name="wsdlPortType" value="FlightInfoServiceIF"/>

            <parameter qname="in0" type="tns:string" xmlns:tns="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"/>
          </operation>
          <parameter name="allowedMethods" value="getFlights"/>
          <parameter name="scope" value="Session"/>
      </service>
    </deployment>

    I was getting this error running AdminClient from a ant task, but the got no error when I ran it from the commanr line. But I'm getting the same thing back from the actual service itself whrn I try and invoke it using stubs generated by the wsdl2java tool with the following code
        public String getFlightsFromWSService(String date) throws Exception {
         String REMOTE_ENDPOINT_URL = "http://localhost:7070/axis/services/flightservice";
         String namespace = "flightservice";
         String portName = "FlightInfoServiceIF";
         String servicename = "flightservice";
         //make a service
         FlightInfoServiceIFService service = new FlightInfoServiceIFServiceLocator();
         //get a stub to the service
         FlightInfoServiceIF flightSvc = service.getflightservice( new URL( REMOTE_ENDPOINT_URL ));
         //make a call
         return flightSvc.getFlights(date);
        }TCPMonitor gives me this pile of stuff

  • Getting java.lang.OutOfMemoryError when deploying

    Hi,
    I have an ear-file which is not very big, 12Mb, but when I run deploy from Enterprise Manager I get the following error:
    [2007-maj-09 10:09:50] Binding XXPA_PA140 web-module for application XXPA_PA140 to site default-web-site under context root XXPA_PA140

    The heap space is set to: -ms512M -mx1024M.
    I have tried to deploy trough JDeveloper as well but with the same result. I would be very grateful if someone could point me in some direction. Doeas anyone know what causes this? What acctually happens during deployment, what files are read?
    Thank you!

    Hello,
    Could you give more information about the application?
    Which version of OC4J are you using?
    Which JDK and OS?
    From what I see this is the WS generation that fails could you describe the style of WS you have developped? (EJB, POJO?, ..)
    Can you run the code form JDeveloper (not deploy run the application)

  • Error: java.lang.nullPointerException when process is complete

    Hello,
    I keep getting the below error in the log file when the process is complete, does any one has this error before?  The error does not affect the process but it is kind of annoying when looking at the log file.  I try to use the other component beside the Foundation>DecisionPoint>execute but I still get the same error.

    If you could give a little more info it would help. The web.xml for example, if your mapping it correctly, etc...

  • Error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError" When Returning Large Number of Docs

    In our SES implementation, we have a custom search interface that allows users to search for documents and then add them to a "shopping cart". Users add then to their shopping cart from search results, by adding docs one-by-one or an Add All option. Once they are done "shopping" they create a report.
    Here is the scenario...
    Users are saerching for documents and seeing that on page 1, there is 1 - 10 of about 300 results. They clicked Add All and want all 300 docs added to their cart.
    What we do under the covers is we execute another search and set the docs requested to 200. We get the array of docs, iterate over them and add the keys to a list. We found 200 docs at a time to be a safe number. However, there are still 100 docs that were not added to their cart and users want all 300 added. In other words, when they click Add All, they want to add all docs, 300, 500, 5000, etc.
    I set the "Maximum Number of Results" to 500 and found that I can safely add up to ~ 350 docs at one time. However, going past this point throws the following error:
    [SOAPException: faultCode=SOAP-ENV:Server; msg= [java.lang.OutOfMemoryError]]
         at oracle.search.query.webservice.client.OracleSearchService.makeSOAPCallRPC(OracleSearchService.java:941)
         at oracle.search.query.webservice.client.OracleSearchService.doOracleSearch(OracleSearchService.java:469)
    After this error is thrown, SES was unable to recover and searching would not work anymore, even return 10 docs at a time. We had to restart SES to resolve the issue.
    1. What is throwing this error? Is it the amount of XML being returned?
    2. What is the maximum number of results we can get back at any one time? Is it based on the amount of data being returned or the number of attributes?
    We are running 10.1.8 with plans to upgrade soon.
    Thanks in advance.

    I know it may be hard to throw away all this code, but consider using the jakarta fileupload component.
    I think it would simplify your code down to
    // Create a factory for disk-based file items
    FileItemFactory factory = new DiskFileItemFactory();
    // Create a new file upload handler
    ServletFileUpload upload = new ServletFileUpload(factory);
    // Parse the request
    List /* FileItem */ items = upload.parseRequest(request);
    // Process the uploaded items
    Iterator iter = items.iterator();
    while (iter.hasNext()) {
        FileItem item = (FileItem) iter.next();
        if (item.isFormField()) {
            processFormField(item);
        } else {
            // item is a file.  write it
            File saveFolder = application.getRealPath("/file");
            File uploadedFile = new File(saveFolder, item.getName());
            item.write(uploadedFile);
    }Most of this code was hijacked from http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/using.html
    Check it out. It will solve your memory problem by writing the file to disk temporarily if necessary.
    Cheers,

  • "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException" when creating a CFC instance inside a webservice

    This question is also up on stack overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10089962/coldfusion-web-service-failing-to-see-componen t
    I've got a CFC that I'm going to access with ?wsdl as a SOAP webservice.
    If I call the CFC directly in a browser, my results render fine:
        http://server/webservice/calc.cfc?method=doStuff&foo=bar
    If I try to access it as a web service:
        ws = CreateObject("webservice", 'http://server/webservice/calc.cfc?wsdl');
        result = ws.doStuff('bar');
    I get an error:
    Cannot perform web service invocation doStuff.
    The fault returned when invoking the web service operation is:
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
    faultSubcode:
    faultString: coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:
    [coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException : [java.lang.ClassNotFoundException :
    com.calculations.calc][java.lang.NullPointerException : null]]
    faultActor:
    faultNode:
    faultDetail:
        {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}stackTrace:coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:          [coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException : [java.lang.ClassNotFoundException :
    com.calculations.calc][java.lang.NullPointerException : null]]
        at     coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFComponentSkeleton.__createCFCInvocationException(CFComponentSkeleton.java:733)
        at coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFComponentSkeleton.__convertOut(CFComponentSkeleton.java:359)

    at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)
    at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(Unknown Source)
    at sun.r... ''
    The problem is because the doStuff function is declaring an instance of a CFC inside it:
    remote struct function doStuff(foo) {
      var objReturn = {};
        objReturn.msg = 'A message';
        // do a calculation
        var objCalc = new com.calculations.calc(foo);
        objReturn.calc = objCalc;
      return objReturn;
    So my CFC that I'm using as a webservice has got another CFC being declared inside a function. Browsing directly to my webservice CFC works fine, but trying to call it using the CreateObject/webservice route fails, as it can't create an instance of the **com.calculations.calc** component.
    It doesn't error, wierdly, if I comment out the objReturn.calc = objCalc line. So it seems I can create the instance, but the error isn't thrown till I assign it to my return struct.
    Also I've found, If I refresh the page a few times, sometimes the error changes to:
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException
    faultSubcode:
    faultString: coldfusion.xml.rpc.CFCInvocationException:

    Dear All Technology Expert's,
    I have a query related to Coldfusion SOAP services, that is most commonly asked in all the forum's but NONE of them has got answer.
    If there is NO solution so I think Adobe has to come up with some patches so developer can able to do some customization.
    I like to share with you all, in all other language ( PHP, JAVA, .NET etc) this option is available and you can customize the error.
    Ok let me again explain the very basic error:

    HOW we can customize the error, in all other languages you can simple customize the error like
    Other languages SOAP response:
      <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       <soapenv:Body>
          <soapenv:Fault>
             <faultcode>BODY_NOT_FOUND</faultcode>
             <faultstring>Body is missing in your request</faultstring>
          </soapenv:Fault>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    But the same is NOT possible in Coldfusion, right?
    AS you know it is vulnerability to display exception messages in the response.
    We are developing this web service to access  from other language website (PHP, .NET).
    We are also planning to upgrade server the Coldfusion 11, but do you think there is any solution with latest Coldfusion version.
    Please response only if you know about these issue's or solution.
    Thanks
    Niyaz
