  • Parametrization of Tables Name before retrieveing the Rows.

    Hi all,
I have more then one tables with same number and types of attributes,
I want to create a single form to view only as per the parameter table name.
further more I want the same in Reports. i.e
    Table Name : Test1, Test2.
Application ask the table name and retrieve thre rows as per parameteized name
Thanks, if any one could help

    Abdul,
I don't think that you can change the table for a block in Forms at runtime. You may want to experiment with basing a block on a stored procedure so that the datasource for Forms doesn't change.
In reports you can use ref cursors to build a query on. In a before Report trigger you can determine the table name by a custom parameter.
Don't ask for example codes as I don't have some. Refer to teh Forms and Reporst documentation on how to use the techniques mentioned.

  • How to Find what are tables and "Table Name" in particular "Data File"

    hi Team,
I have one database that database 300 gb size , this database having 6 ndf files ,
here How to Find  what are the tables and  "Table Name"  in particular "Data File"[.ndf]

    Hi,
In addition to Prashanth’s suggestion, you can also use the following Transact-SQL statements to get more detailed information including  all objects and indexes per Filegroup / Partition and allocated data size of databases.
The script can work with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and higher version in all Editions. For more details, please review this article:

  • Table without table name

    Kamesh wrote:

Edited by: Kamesh on Sep 20, 2010 11:05 AMNo, every table in a schema has to have a unique name. Any string will do.
If the name does not conform to the standard rules for identifiers (including the rule about no special characters, such as spaces) then the name must be enclosed in double-quotes. As William pointed out, " " (with a single space between the quotes) is a name; it has a length of 1.
This reminds me of a great story. It's so good, it probably didn't really happen, but it's so good, I'm going to repeat it anyway.
IBM once had an "executive apptitude test" that they would give to job applicants. There were some questions you might call general knowlege or trivia questions, and each question had a weight (for example, answering an unimportant queestion might score one point, an important question might be 5 points.) One of the questions was "What is the standard width of a mobile home?", and the weight of the question was -20: answering the question correctly did serious harm to your score. The reasoning was that the more you knew about mobile homes, the less likely you were to be their kind of executive.
I wonder if this was the same kind of trick question.
I agree with Mtefft; the correct answer is something like "Why would you want to?"

  • Tables names in forms

    Hi, you all.
I'm making new security module for a system made in oracle forms, and when I tryied identify all tables used in one form I realized it will take me a lot of time, because there are more than 500 forms!
There is a way to find tables names in all *.fmb files at the same time and to show me if it is SELECT, INSERT, DELETE or UPDATE?
    Thanks.

not that i know of. you can use hibernate to generate tables from objects, but I don't know about swing.
geez, why would you want to? if that's all you want, better to write VB. personally, i don't think that tightly coupling UI and database elements that tightly is a very good idea. sounds brittle; no layering.

  • Error Messages in NW Log: Unable to run query / Enter table name

    Hi all,
I am always wondering about the tons of error messages in the NW log.
Today I opened the workbench and a query (SQL-Query, Mode Fixed Query) and viewed the Fixed Query Details. Then I looked into the NW Log (SAP Logs), and it contained the following errors from my query opening inside the workbench:
    com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException:
    com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException:
    com.sap.xmii.Illuminator.logging.LHException:
    Enter a table name
    Unable to run the query
All in all 15 error entries have been generated. Unfortunately no more details are contained in the log.
Has anyone an idea why this happens when only opening a query inside the workbench without starting it?
    Michael

Do you get similar errors when running a ColumnList query without providing a Table name (with the Group parameter)?
    /XMII/Illuminator?Server=XXXXX&Mode=ColumnList
    /XMII/Illuminator?Server=XXXXX&Mode=ColumnList&Group=TABLENAME
Just a guess, but perhaps the WB is trying to fill the lower left listbox of available columns without the benefit of a table name being selected from the upper left listbox of available tables.

  • Different log file name in the Control file of SQL Loader

    Dear all,
I get every day 3 log files with ftp from a Solaris Server to a Windows 2000 Server machine. In this Windows machine, we have an Oracle Database 9.2. These log files are in the following format: in<date>.log i.e. in20070429.log.
I would like to load this log file's data to an Oracle table every day and I would like to use SQL Loader for this job.
The problem is that the log file name is different every day.
How can I give this variable log file name in the Control file, which is used for the SQL Loader?
    file.ctl
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'D:\gbal\in<date>.log'
    APPEND INTO TABLE CHAT_SL
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY WHITESPACE

    SL10 char,
    SL11 char,
    SL12 char,
    SL13 char,
    SL14 char,
    SL15 char)
Do you have any better idea about this issue?
I thought of renaming the log file to an instant name, such as in.log, but how can I distinguish the desired log file, from the other two?
Thank you very much in advance.

I don't have a direct solution for your problem.
However if you invoke the SQL loader from an Oracle stored procedure, it is possible to dynamically set control\log file.
    # Grant previleges to the user to execute command prompt statements

  • Process Flow ignores name and location for Control- and Log-Files

    Hi!
Our OWB Version is 10.1.0.3.0 - DB Version 9.2.0.7.0 - OWF Version 2.6.2
Clients and server are running on Windows. Database contains target schemas as well as OWB Design and Runtime, plus OWF repositories. The source files to load reside on the same server as the database.
I have for example a SQL*Loader Mapping MAP_TEXT which loads one flat file "text.dat" into a table stg_text.
The mapping MAP_TEXT is well configured and runs perfect. i.e. Control file "text.ctl" is generated to location LOC_CTL, flat file "text.dat" read from another location LOC_DATA, bad file "text.bad" is written to LOC_BAD and the log file "text.log" is placed into LOC_LOG. All locations are registered in runtime repository.
When I integrate this mapping into a WorkFlow Process PF_TEXT, then only LOC_DATA and LOC_BAD are used. After deploying PF_TEXT, I execute it and found out, that Control and Log file are placed into the directory <OWB_HOME>\owb\temp and got generic names <Mapping Name>.ctl and <Mapping Name>.log (in this case MAP_TEXT.ctl and MAP_TEXT.log).
How can I influence OWB to execute the Process Flow using the locations configured for the mapping placed inside?
    Has anyone any helpfull idea?
    Thx,
    Johann.

I didn't expect to be the only one to encounter this misbehaviour of OWB.
Meanwhile I found out what the problem is and had to recognize that it is like it is!
There is no solution for it till Paris Release.
Bug Nr. 3099551 at Oracle MetaLink adresses this issue.
    Regards,
    Johann Lodina.

  • Dynamic bad and Log file names!!

    Hi

    Hi
I have the scenario like the data files would be passed as parameter to the mapping , and the mapping would have the premapping procedure which would change the file name in the external table definition. This works fine. But the one more issue I have is that, I would like to change the bad file, log file and discard file name also through this procedure. In other words, for each incoming data file I would like to create a bad ,log and disc file.So How do I accomplish in the present procedure which does the following alter table statement
execute immediate 'alter table '||p_table_name||' location('''
    ||p_file_name||''')';
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
