OBI EE tab colours

Hi,
Have a request to change colours of individual tabs on a dashboard in OBI EE (version 10.1.3.4.1).
What do I need to amend to achieve this?

we can change the color of all pages to one thing but not to different colors
Change the portalcontent.css under analytics/res/s_oracle10/b_mozilla/portalcontent.css

Transparency in gradients - transition gradient slider still shows the transparent tabs colour

I`m trying to make a one colour radial blend from one colour to transparent,
so I make the end tab 0% opacity. transparent,
however the transition gradient slider at top between the colour and the transparent tab still shows the influence of the transparent, this creates a colour bleed from the transparent tab even if I set it to white, the left colour fades out into white then transparency. (this is not due to the cream left tab, it happens on any colour sample)
I want the left colour tab to fade out with no influence in the transition period to the "white transparent" tab, but the transition slider does carry some of the gradation from the white tab... is there a way to delete the white tab all together and have a true transition from the cream to nothing?

I just thought of the solution, - use the same colour on both colour stops, and make one transparent.

Tab pages on Oracle forms 9.0.4..

I have a form consist of several tab pages. I do not user to select another tab page without saving the currnent one where they are on. If the user already clicked on another tab, the one clicked tab changes colour. I can force the cursor to go back to the block where they were before, but the prevously clicked tab does not change to the original colour. How do I change the clicked tab back to the unselected tab colour.( if user want to go the tab page even after saving they have to click another tab page in order to go the prevously selected tab page) I would appreciate if any one knows the answer and giving me the details.

Use

to select a tab and make it the current tab.

How to use Device Profiles and Viewing Conditions Profile in Photoshop Elements 11?

In trying to get to grips with the Colour management aspects of PSE11, I have encountered the following problems:
Having selected "Display" a sequence of clicks (Change display settings -> Advanced settings -> Colour Management -> Colour Management tab -> Colour Management)
gives a screen which includes the headings:
Device Profile and Viewing Conditions Profile.
1. Device Profile. Besides sRGB and ARGB, the profile list includes the profiles for all of the Epson papers. (I have an Epson Stylus Photo PX810FW).
I changed the Profile to an Epson Grayscale, this was accepted within the menu, but there are no changes from normal when I viewed the image on the Windows screen or within
PSE11. ("normal" is sRGB or ARGB).
I thought it worth a try to test that, if I wanted the display image to closely represent what I would get on a particular Epson paper, this may be a way to do it.(I suspected this approach because I have never
seen it in the literature!).
So what is the purpose of all of the paper Profiles appearing in the Display listing?
2. The Viewing Conditions Profile has also several options. I have tried to find the criteria for choosing one rather than the other, but failed to find any information. Can anyone help? I seek general guidance
rather than the details of the Profiles.
As a seperate question:
Selecting Image on the PSE11 menu across the top of the displayed image, and then Convert Colour Profile, I tried this process on an image, converting tiff to sRGB. When saved there was an extra asterisk in the saved title but in this case,
the file was still labelled tiff and there was no change in the number of Mbs. If a conversion has taken place, how is one to know? Does saving a tiff file as jpeg change its colour profile? When is it useful to use this feature?

Addressing your second question, you are confusing two different things.
tiff is an image file format, as is jpeg, as is psd, as is png, as are dozens (if not hundreds, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_file_formats) of other formats.
A colour profile represents the colour characteristics of devices so that, for example, displays know how to display the colours, printers know how to print them.
Image files MAY, but do not have to, contain colour profiles.

Under Image Mode: RGB colour is checked
Edit>colour settings the “Always Optimise Colours for Computer Screens” is checked
File>Print>More options>Colour management tab>colour handling I have “Photoshop Elements Manages Colour”
Just as a check, a while ago I ran the same photo under “Printer handles colour” and the result was even worse.
I wondered whether Edit>Colour should have “Always optimise for Printing” checked? But I have never seen that menu before, so presumably the “Always Optimise Colours for Computer Screens” has been checked even whilst printing from PSE 10 with good results.

Win8Consumer Preview Nvidia probs

I have two desktop PCs with identical MOBOs and processors running Win8CP, one has an NVIDIA GT220 graphics card and is on WiFI, the other is on integrated AMD 3000 graphics and wired connection.
The one with NVidia card shows odd artifacts around the close/minimise/maximise gadgets top right in Firefox (actually fragments from elsewhere on the display window) and also oddities in tab colouring with the same prog and also odd tab colour behaviour when mousing over certain areas of some websites (eg gmail). The other machine seems rock solid.
Other programs seem to run fine, inc. Opera, IE10 and Chrome running gmail.
I suspect the NVIDIA drivers or how firefox is coded.
1 Is this a known problem?
2 what further information might help resolve the problem?
3 Does anyone know of if there likely to be any further driver release?
4 Any other suggestions welcome.

Just so you know, Firefox doesn't officially support Windows 8 until Firefox 14, so there may be weird issues like this until that version is released. What you can do however, if you are sure your graphics drivers are up to date, is go to [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/], and file a bug. The developers will look into the issue, and if it is a Firefox bug it will get fixed for the release!

[solved] Documentation on GTK+ Themes

Editing the gtkrc file isn't hard by itself, but knowing what each colour settings change on the widgets would be a great help. I did a quick search, but I couldn't find anything like a GTK+ theming reference.
Does anyone know where to find such thing, if there's one?

Well, that helps a lot, thank you, but it's not 100% complete.
For example, let's say that I want to change the colours of tabs. I know I have to change the GtkNotebook background colours, but which ones? I know the answers now, but I had to try each one to discover that bg[SELECTED] changes the selected tab colour (ok, makes sense) and bg[ACTIVE] changes the unselected tabs (this one doesn't make a lot of sense).
edit: that site does indicate what each colours changes.

How to format the Tabs in a Theme? (change colour / align)

Hi,
I have created an application using Theme 17 in http://htmldb.oracle.com/ . Can someone please tell me where I can modify the background colours of the tabs? I'm guessing this formatting is stored in a config file some where as the colour isn't visable when viewing the webpage source.
I have looked in : Shared Components > Themes > Greyscale > Templates > One Level Tabs but can only find reference to #TAB_CELLS# (which I believe is populating the tabs. If this is the case please can you tell me where I can edit this?
Please note that this database is not on my local machine so I am unable to browse for .css or other files if they require editing.

Hi Richard,
I think you're referring to the entries in the "Body" section of the tab definition.
Look further down the page at the "Current Tab" and "Non Current Standard Tab" settings - this is where the actual tabs are constructed.

I've got two ideas for you:
1. Swing has implementable L&F (skins) for all components. You could create one for you JTabbedPane as a subclass from some existing UI L&F
2. you can always do this in your paint method. Might be tough though

How can I get rid of the transparency in the Tab bar and get a solid colour

I have upgraded to Firefox 4 and because the menu bars were 'ugly' put in a persona.
Now I find that the Tab bar is transparent, which makes it hard to read.
How can I change the Tab bar to a solid colour and still keep the persona.
And if there is a solution can it please be put into simple terms for someone who only has a bit of computer skill.

Organising Colour Swatches Tab/Palette

Re: InDesign CS5 colour swatch palette/tab.
I do artwork for two monthly magazines which consist of editorial and paid advertisements. These ads are either designed by me or supplied by customers and change regularly. Over the years of receiving artwork in various formats - pdf being the most common, my swatches palette has grown to be almost out of control. Every month I do a sweep of the swatches, removing unused and converting any spot to cmyk manually (I have had transparency issues with spot colours), but my main issue is with the jumble of colour swatches. I know if I create a new document and import all the swatches from the previous month issues, the swatches will arrange themselves in order - all PMS colours together, all cmyk colours together etc, but as I don't necessarily want to create new artwork each month I open up last month's doc and strip out old text, ads and replace with the current monthly info.
Is there any way I can arrange my swatches in order?
My screenshot only shows half of the swatches in the palette.
I would be really grateful if someone could show me how to fix this, I accept that I may have some bad working practices going on here.

Make sure you save each swatch or swatch combination as an ACO file. Use the dropdown menu near the top right of the swatches panel.
You can then load named swatches, or replace the default swatch with a named swatch - using the sme dropdown menu.
You can also download swatches designed by others from the Kuler website.

Tab control colour

Hi All,
A annoying problem ive come up against. Why is the colour of my tab control different to my background and cluster colour? They are supposed to be all the same. I used the 'Get Colour' tool and applied the colour to all items. I have attached a vi (LV8.2) to demonstrate this. Any ideas?

This is a great question. I have studied the differences and can visibly tell exactly what you are saying. Nevertheless, there are colors which look the same.
For a good grey use: 12369084
There are other colors that I was able to find.
However, the best thing to try is this: If you want the Cluster to be the same color as the tab control, make the background of the cluster transparent. When you are changing the color hit the space bar to select between border and background and hit the the "T" in the top left corner of the color change box.

I'm building a form which has a tab canvas using Forms 6i. In my application Im using Oracle Look and Feel and the BLUE Colour Scheme. The background colour in the bar with the tabs is shown as grey, I would prefer it to be blue (that matching the shade of blue in colorScheme=Blue). I have tried setting the background colour of the tab canvas using the colour palette but am unable to find a matching shade of blue. Does anybody now the colour code to use?

What is the little golden coloured metal tab that sticks out the side of the logic board?

Hi,
On the logic board of a 3g and 3gs (i am not sure about the other models) there is a golden coloured tab that sticks out and when the board is in the housing it makes contact with the chrome bezel.
I was wondering what the job of this little part is and what the implications would be if it did not do its job properly.

Why is there is no colour difference in FF4 between an active and an non-active tab?

Tabbed browsing is one of the best features of Firefox. In previous versions the active or selected tab is a lighter colour than the non-active tabs, making it easier to navigate between tabs.
In Firefox 4 (Windows) all the tabs are the same colour. Installing the coloured tabs add-on does not help, because it relies on the shading that FF4 provides (or does not provide in this case).

I am using XP and I can see no difference.
I have gone back to FF3.6 because it is easier to see which tab is active and which tab I am about to select when I hover the mouse over it. FF4 is just dead man. :(
