How can I get rid of the transparency in the Tab bar and get a solid colour
I have upgraded to Firefox 4 and because the menu bars were 'ugly' put in a persona.
Now I find that the Tab bar is transparent, which makes it hard to read.
How can I change the Tab bar to a solid colour and still keep the persona.
And if there is a solution can it please be put into simple terms for someone who only has a bit of computer skill.

How can I make a top layer "transparent" to the end-user?

Got a quick question.
I'm working on a custom card builder and was wondering if there was any way I could keep an uploaded image editable to the end user. The end-user will be able to choose what template they'd like to frame the image with. The problem is, even with transparency that chosen frame acts as a layer, and once the uploaded image has been placed onto the staging area, the end-user loosing the ability to edit/scale/skew that image. I'd like them to be able to still do that even with the template above their image.
Can anybody think of a solution to this? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.You'd literally need to chop each frame up. To keep things reasonable to update you can use Photoshop to slice the graphics, saving them to external PNGs to import in. If a frame has 4 edges, you cut out the 4 sides, import into Flash and reassemble them inside a single Sprite or MovieClip. Any area inside that sprite that has no actual objects will be true transparency and won't invoke a click action.
Keep in mind, hitboxes are rectangular. If you have an oval frame where the edges require you to create bitmaps with transparency on their edges, that will be clickable. If you don't immediately understand what I mean by that just draw a circle in flash, convert to clip. Now draw your cursor around what you consider the 'top' portion of that frame and notice how much of the inner fill you also capture at the same time. That will all be clickable. So the user may "see" their picture behind the frame but when they click they accidentally get the frame instead.
Picture worth a thousand words (random net image):
If you cut this oval frame into 4 pieces (this being the top obviously), the transparent area you see in the frame will need to be part of the hitarea for the frame. That can be just as confusing to customers in this situation. If most of your frames have little to no transparency (very squared up) then it won't be a problem. Although just like the problem you're having now, any bitmap transparency WILL be clickable even if you cut the sides up. The center where there is no bitmap can be clicked through to mess with the picture behind the frame.
This sort of makes the transparency detection a bit more desirable. -

I am looking for a solution for Firefox Win App and Mobile Apps where on click of a button from the website page, we should be able to launch a new instance of firefox instance (like a popup box) with following features:
a. It SHOULD NOT have any URL bar to display.
b. It SHOULD NOT show any plug-ins or any other functionality except Previous, Next and Reload.
c. This instance of firefox should always be on-top of all other application.
Please advise, how firefox can be customized to offer in all platforms by default.

RajivYou would need your visitors to install some kind of add-on, since web pages do not have permission to block the display of the page address and users do not need to allow a new window to be modal and block other Firefox windows, much less other OS windows.
Over the years, people have developed extensions for kiosk-style displays. You could investigate those for ideas. -
I've been using Firefox since version 1 and it's always been my #1 web browser of choice. Since version 4, Firefox has become my #3 browser of choice, behind Safari & Chrome. I would like FF to go back to being #1, because frankly FF 4 & FF 5 have been a royal pain in the a$$.

So it really depends. If you have an "early 2008" MBP as follows:

Then the disk from an equivalent Mac Pro (needs to be of similar vintage) may help you. But if you have once of the newer models ("late 2008") this has an nVidia chipset in it and the drivers for that may not be on the Mac Pro.
You'll need 64bit drivers for the nVidia chipset for this to work.
A side note is that the EFI implementation on the "Early 2008" MPB might well be 32 bit, so it's debatable if you get the full advantage of 64bit Vista in terms of performance. It worked for me, but YMMV. In any case when Windows 7 ships, my Macs will mostly be in "Legacy" mode.

THEN I TRIED TO GET INTO MY BOOKMARKS AND REALIZED THAT TAB WAS ALSO MUSSING ..VERY FRUSTRATING.. I HAVE TO GO TO INTERNET EXPLORER TO DO ALL MY WORK AND I DON'T TRUST EXPLORER AS I HAVE BEEN VIRUSED ON IT MORE THAN ONCE..ALSO NO TOOLS OR HELP LINKS
Make sure the Menu Bar is not hidden. Right-click the Home Button and make sure Menu Bar option is ticked.

I want to get rid of Yahoo as my default tool bar, and everything it came with.
I was asked some time ago if I wanted to choose Yahoo as my toolbar, and I accidentally said yes. I want the original toolbar back, with the Google search box, no animated weather, facebook ebay tabs, etc. Going to Customize and choosing default settings didn't do it. Help!

When I want to return to my home page after looking at a website I click on the home icon and it resets the page to my home page but also open a blak tab which i don't want.How can I stop this as I have too many tabs open and have to close all of them.
You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that flush the tab?
Please report back on anything suspicious you find so others can learn about its bad behavior. -
Every time I fire up my iMac a window pops up saying "Mount notification quit unexpectedly" and it gives me the option to either "Reopen" it or click OK, which gets rid of it. What is this please and how can i stop it?

Adobe Bridge, lightroom and your file browser (windows explorer or Mac Finder) can select multiple pictures at once and then delete. If you are looking for more than that for information, you will need to be more specific at what your doing, what OS you have, and version of software your using. If necessary post screen shots so we can see what your doing. The more information we have the more detailed of an explaination can can give back to you.

I set a theme on igoogle - but it seems to now be embedded in my firefox as it is behind the url box, behind the bookmark tab bar and at the bottom of the page. How do I get rid of it. I can still change themes but they stay on the google page as they should. this has nothing to do with my screen saver and my desktop screens - they are different and ok - seems to be stuck in Firefox particularly.

In Pages when I click the 'Sections' button then click on the 1st page I get a page that is titled "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"! Where did it come from and how do I get rid of it? I have tried deleting and "dont save" but it comes back. It is a full page in some unknown language. The only thing I can decifer is 'cupy uf cak'. Rdal

The icon is +Sections, not just Sections, as in "Add a Section". When you click that icon you get a section break and and a new section template, complete with preformatted text called placeholder text. The reason "Lorem ipsum" is there is so you can see what the format looks like. The reason that it is Latin gibberish is so you won't get hung up on, or distracted by, what it says. It's just a display of format. Select the "Lorem ipsum" text and start typing your content.

I have the same apple id e mail for both ipad2 and mac. it might be getting confuse now. I called walmart coz I bought it there and they told me that they have not heard that before but if I can't fix it, just return it and exchange it with anew one since I have 14 days to do that. I tried rebooting it and still won't work. Should I just restore it?

I am a bit of a computer/Internet/iTunes dummy....
I am concerned about the health of my current computer but have not yet made the commitment to a new one, but:
1) How can I transfer my iTunes account to a new computer when I get one...

2) What can I do if my current computer suddenly implodes and I have not yet 'copied/'saved'/otherwise protected my account, as is? -- I have already had my computer crash once and had one of your people help me restore all of the paid for songs (none of the uploaded from my own collection of CD songs, of course, so I had to spend a long time rebuilding that) -- and I believe I was told you could only help me recover that material one or two times altogether, no?
WithOUT purchasing a Mach or iCloud (I actually think I have one of the later, but rarely have checked it) account, is there anything I can do to responsibly protect my account?
Thanks for any time taken on this!!!These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have iOS devices and haven't moved your contacts and calendar items across then you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.
