OBIEE 11.1.1.7 Server Requirements

Hi All,
I am looking for OBIEE 11.1.1.7 minimum Server requirements (CPU Cores, RAM & Disk space). I have check the OBIEE 11.1.1.7 documentation, but it redirected to Middleware documentation, i have checked the same there, but i couldn't get the proper information. Could anyone help me on this one.

Solution:
The error might occur due to following cases.
case 1: when the password is wrong
case 2: when you try to login from some App
case 3: when you try to login from the domain other than your time zone/domain/computer (This
is the case in most of scenarios when sending mail from code)
There is a solution for each
solution for case 1: Enter the correct password.
Recomended: solution for case 2: go to
security settings at the following link https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps and
enable less secure apps . So that you will be able to login from all apps.
solution 1 for case 3: (This might be helpful) you need to review the activity. but reviewing the activity will not be helpful due to latest security
standards the link will not be useful. So try the below case.
solution 2 for case 3: If you have hosted your code somewhere on production server and if you have access to the production server, than take remote
desktop connection to the production server and try to login once from the browser of the production server. This will add exception for login to google and you will be allowed to login from code.
But what if you don't have access to the production server. try
the solution 3
solution 3 for case 3: You have to enable
login from other timezone / ip for your google account.
to do this follow the link https://g.co/allowaccess and
allow access by clicking the continue button.
And that's it. Here you go. Now you will be able to login from any of the computer and by any means of app to your google account.

Server requires authentication - How do I program for this?

I'm testing out a webpage I have created that will be used to send email. I have DSL service...just recently subscribed. Previously I had Dial up. The server at that time didn't require authentication, but now that I have DSL it does. I'm a bit lost as to how to update my program (I've included the snippet in the post), so that it will run correctly. I am having some difficulty.
My program looked like this :

//....                        I did some research already, and have looked at some other forum posts. The one thing I have noted when I run my program is that the dos prompt for tomcat is showing this:

One thing I have noticed in the majority of the posts is that useAuth in the tomcat dos prompt should be set to true, and not false. Mine is coming up as false. Also, I think it should be set to true because the ISP's server requires authentication for sending and receiving email.
Can you please provide me with some input on how to update my program so it will run?

Per your advice, I made these changes to my code:

Session ssn = Session.getInstance(props, null); The props.setProperty("mail.smtp.auth","true"); is something I found previously to posting my question. I'm assuming this is the line of code that has changed useAuth from false to true...is that correct?
I'm most pleased to report that with the changes made above, my program works! But is my code good? As soon as I start taking on clients, I will need my code to be reliable, and it needs to work with Dial Up and DSL connections.
With regards to your question about how I had found the authentication code but hadn't used it. Well, I did try it, again, this was previous to posting my question, and the compiler couldn't compile the program because of this statement - pwdAuth;
I also tried this code I had found in the JavaMail FAQ section -

URLConnection POST to external server requiring keep-alive fails because request is HTTP/1.0

          I have a class that when run as a "main" transmits a HTTP/1.1 post successfully
          to an external server. This external server requires keep-alive connections.
          However when instantiated inside a weblogic servlet container, the post fails
          because the HTTP protocol is set to HTTP/1.0. I have tried this with V5.1 SP11
          and then with V6.1 SP2 with the same result. The code works under Tomcat.
          I can find no way to force HTTP/1.1 in the URLConnection. Any suggestions?

My Server requires authentication

Hi guys
We have set up SMTP on Exchange front end and only for 5 managers, the server require auhtenticacion via SMTP. How I can set up this on Iphone?, if I use another POP3 such as Outlook Express i haven´t problems because Outlook express show me in the server "tab" the option "my server requires authentication", can someone help me?

A member of an Active Directory domain
A minimum of 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM, with 2 GB recommended
At least a 1.8 gigahertz (GHz) processor, with a 2.8 GHz processor recommended
10 GB of hard disk space available, at a minimum, with 50 GB recommended

JavaMail: How to tell if SMTP server requires authentication

I am writing an application that sends notification emails. I have a configuration screen for the user to specify the SMTP hostname and optionally a username and password, and I want to validate the settings. Here is the code I am using to do this:

transport.close();This works if the user enters a username and password (whether they are valid or not), or if the username and password are empty but the SMTP server does not require authentication. However, if the server requires authentication and the username and password are empty, the call to transport.connect() succeeds, but the user will get an error later on when the app tries to actually send an email. I want to query the SMTP server to find out if authentication is required (not just supported), and inform the user when they are configuring the email settings. Is there any way to do this? I suppose I could try sending a test email to a dummy address, but I was hoping there would be a cleaner way.

Thanks for your help. This is what I ended up doing, and it seems to work. For anyone else interested, after the code above (before transport.close(), I try to send an empty email, which causes JavaMail to throw an IOException, which I ignore. If some other MessagingException occurs, then there is some other problem (authentication required, invalid from address, etc).

Cisco's NCS Small Virtual Appliance Requirements as per below allow monitoring of up to 3000 access-points. We only need to monitor <400 Access-Points, 4 x WLC's and <25 autonomous access-points and I am wondering is anyone has deployed NCS on VM with less than the small virtual appliance requirements to monitor only a small number of AP's and WLCs?

I am not sure about NCS but I have tried another Cisco product that can be purchased as an applicance or installed virtually. It had minimum requrements of RAM and desk space.
When I treid to install it on a virtual machine it complained about desk space. it could not be installed until I - virtually - assigned the needed minimum desk space to the virtual machine.
For the RAM however it did not complain although it was less than 1/4 of the minimum requirement listed in the document.

CSM 4.01 Server Requirements

In the documentation for CSM 4.01 under server requirements it says:
"Strongly Recommended: Windows 2008 Enterprise Server (Service Pack 2)—64 bit".
I've already installed it on 2003, but I was wondering if I should make the effort to go to 2008. I'm at a point where I can still flat the whole thing and start again if necessary.

Hey thanks a lot for your reply, I had given up on getting an answer from anyone. I'll definitely take your advice and start again using 2008. I've only got 4 devices added to CSM so far but it is still dog slow even though the server was a clean install with nothing else on it and I followed the "best practices". It also meets the minimum requirements (50 quad-core CPUs, 300 terabytes of RAM etc), but may 2008 will help.

What is the difference between the two possible configurations of WebLogic: Admin Server and Managed Server?

What Is a Domain?
+An Oracle WebLogic Server administration domain is a logically related group of Oracle WebLogic Server resources. Domains include a special Oracle WebLogic Server instance called the Administration Server, which is the central point from which you configure and manage all resources in the domain. I added the emphasis on "usually". You will always have exactly one administration server for a domain. That administration server can host other applications, it's simply a question of whether or not it's a good idea to do it. If you need to scale-up your application at a later time so that more than one server would be required - deploying your application to managed servers makes this very easy as you can just add managed servers. Typically other Oracle products in Fusion Middleware have domain templates and other installer / configuration options that default to deploying their infrastructure to managed servers. Sometimes in development / resource-constrained environments people override those defaults and try and run everything on a single Admin Server. It's usually possible, but may not be the most flexible going forward.

Can Oracle BI Discoverer 11G and OBIEE 11G be configured on the same weblogic server?

Did you mean the same weblogic server instance?
Most likely, what you can do is to install those 2 components as independent server instances and keep those under the same domain. Each would require 4GB of available memory (physical + swap).

I am installing obiee 11g high availability using Horizontal scaleout, after scaleout i am not able to start BI server on instance 2

i was trying to modify NQSConfig.ini file RPC_SERVICE_OR_PORT = "9702'' to 9722 and restarted services, but after restart the services the port number is remain same 9702.
even i tried to change the port ranges also.
please suggest how to change the bi server port number.

Thanks for the posting. This works for me after I changed the port range from EM side, but need to bounce the entire weblogic (not only just opmnctl startproc ).
However, I am not sure why all of sudden this happened. When I did "netstat -a|grep 9702", I don't see the port was being used. But I'm glad at least this works, thanks very much for your posting.
