OBIEE - Answers - Grand total of a fact column

I need to determine if a fact column (lets say X) is within a certain range of the total of X. I want to know how we can get the total of X in each record of the answers resultset. The column X has been defined as an aggregated column in the repository.
The answers request is : Dim A, Dim B, Fact X and I need to calculate whether Fact X is less than the average of Total of X.
Any help in this regard is highly apreciated
Thanks

avg = 1.00 * sum(x)/max(rsum(1))
then use case statement

  • In OBIEE Report Grand Total instead of Average(Average)  use Sum(Avg)?

    Hi All,
In OBIEE Report Grand Total average always shows Average of average (Default) "avg(avg)" , can i overwrite this functionality to sum of average "sum(avg)".
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Kandasamy

    Hello,
    You can try the following:
Remove the calculate result as setting for the three KFs.
In exception aggregation set property to average with ref char as leave start date.
    Check if it works.
If the above dosent work, set reference char to emplyee ID and check.
Either one of them has to work

  • Grand total on a Hidden column in OBIEE11g

    Hi All,
Is any way to display a grand total value for a hidden column in OBIEE11g analysis.
Actually my requirement is to show a total count of specific values(lets say 'Yes') in column which contain 'Yes' and 'No' values.
So for this, i have created one hidden column and that contain 1 and 0 for corresponding 'Yes' and 'No' and then sum of this column will solve my purpose. But i dont want to show this column in my report. Is any way to do this?
    Thanks,
    Archie.

Err..ok. If u want to show total count of yes in grand total section...then just filter ur report by 'yes' and change the aagr rule of same col to count in fx. No need for seperate column here. Ur report will just show where col value is 'yes' and its total count will be displayed at the grand total section.
    Hope this helps

  • Answers: Grand Total

I have a table to display the top 10, after that I want an "Other" row which totals everything else but the top 10, followed by a Grand Total Row.
How Do I create an "Other" row?

I'm not sure how combine with similar request helps, as it just adds the same columns to the existing ones.
But if I use the filter out the not top 10 - then no total is calculated, which is the opposite of what I want.
And I can't use a filter to counter the top 10... since the top 10 is really the top 80% of products that make up 80% of the total growth. So I am already using filters to get the 80%. So what I want is the remaining 20% total, with out the rows.

  • OBIEE 11g Grand total issue

    Hello,
I have one requirement where I want to show the data as follows
    Type          Metric          Values
    Type1          units          100
              Days          50
              % Calc     10%
    Type2           units          100
              Days          50
              % Calc     10%
    Type3          units          100
              Days          50
              % Calc          10%
    Total units     300
    Total Days     150
    Total % Calc 30%
If I take grand total of row in pivot table, I am not able to show Total units, Total Days and Total % Calc values in Grand Total because by default, same grand total name appears.
I want to give different grand total names and percentage sign should appear in grand total.
Please let me know if u need any more information.
    Thanks.

Try to recreate the report. Just in case make sure that you dont have null values in that metric or try with ifnull(col,0)

  • How to hide % measure column Grand Total  value in Pivot View in obiee 11g?

    Hi ,
I am facing a issue in obiee 11g .I am using a Pivot table to display the grand total of 3 metric columns eg: A , B,  C out of which B is percentage  so I need to remove the grand total value of the percentage column. We have to stick to Pivot View only. Anyone can sugest me on this?
    Thanks ,
    Shruti

Move B to rows section or cast to char in Criteria tab by keeping the B in Measures section only.
    cast(B as char)

  • Grand total on some column

    Hi,
My question is: Can I exclude grand total on some measure column in pivot view?
For example I have 3 columns. On columns Account1 and Accounts, aggregation is SUM, and on column Max(something), aggregation is MAX.
    I have next situation.
    Account1 Account 2 Max(something)
    100 200 23
    200 250 13
    150 300 42
    450 750 42 - GRAND TOTAL
But I want grand total only on columns Account1 and Accounts. For column Max(something) I don't want total at all.
    Thank you for your replies.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply,
    According to the link Below
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/answer_xml,
We can able to change color for Grand total through XML, but the example is in 10g, there is nothing call saw:totalValues in 11g Currently, may be it is replaced with saw:displayGrandTotal, I tried that option also but it is not working.
Is there anything which we can do through xml, to achieve the above requirement?
    Thanks

  • Grand Totals for GOURL columns

We are having an issue showing Grand Totals for GOURL enabled columns
We have enabled GOURL on the amount columns, To enable hyperlink we had to convert the the number column to character. Enabling the Grand total in the Table View is thorwing error "Function Report_Sum does not support non-numeric types".
Any input on the above would be of great help.
We are using OBIEE version 10.1.3.4
    Thanks
    Kranthi

    You can try the following..
    1) Keep the same name for all the amount fields in each column. (for example, first amount column field name is "Amount1" and second column field name is "Amount2").
    2) Then write the code in the Calculate event of the Total field. (Use FormCalc)
         Total1.rawValue = Sum(Table1.Row1[*].Amount1);
    3) Similarly for Second column
         Total2.rawValue = Sum(Table1.Row1[*].Amount2);
    4) For the total of Amount1 and Amount2.
         LoanTotal = Sum(Total1.rawValue + Total2.rawValue);
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Grand total of calculated column and case function in the same calcultd col

    Hi Gurus,
In 9.0.4, the Grand total of the calculated column is not working as per the CASE function. It is taking the ELSE formula for all records. Is there a way to correct it.
    Thanks,
    Pooja

    Hi Pooja,
In the totals ,which u mentioned try using cell sum function instead of sum function.

  • Column Level Security - Grand Total row

Hello All, I have a question about Column Level Security in a report where Grand Total is turned on. I am working inside of the OOTB Paint rpd and I am looking at the 'Finish Sales Trend for Current Year' report on the Brand Analysis dashboard page. Inside of the Admin Tool I added column level security on the Units presentation column in the Sales Measures table. I implemented security that will not allow the Central Region Manager group to view the Units column. When I access the report I noticed that the Grand Total row of the table is slightly skewed because the Units column is hidden. The Grand Total row is showing, however all the results are off by 1 cell.
The forum is not allowing me to attach pictures to this post.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi User,
It is an bug refer the metalink,
Bug.9576412 - GRAND TOTAL NOT WORKING WHEN COLUMN LEVEL SECURITY IS IMPLEMENTED
    For eg:
consieder a report with following columns,
    Year Product Measure1 Measure2
In this if for measure1 the column level security is enabled (user1 who is not supposed to see the data).
Then grand total value of measure2 will be in the grand total of measure1. (for user1)
When column level security is enabled, that column will be pushed to the end of the table view.
    So that it is happening.
By using case statements with groups or users we can get it work without enabling the column level security.
    Thanks,
    Vino

  • Matrix row grand total, column grand total

matrix report layout in sql 2008
report shows     column a   column b    column c    total
              row 1           4              5
    8             17
              row 2           3              5
    2             10
              row 3           2              7

    total                      9              17
    16      grand total column 42
    grand total row 42
How do I define the grand total cells to use column totals or row totals?  Not just the sum of field in dataset?
Accounting wants justification that column totals add up to row totals.

    Hi JimHoopsDSC,
Based on my understanding, you want to show grand total columns and grand total rows in the report.
For your requirement, you can create a matrix and add total for row groups and column groups. Then you can add an additional row and populate the total value. Please refer to screenshots below:
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • How to Display a Detailed Grand Total Column in Pivot Table

I have a pivot table that looks something like this:
I would like to display the 'Grand Total' column at the end so that it is separated by year, like this:
Is there a pivot table setting that would allow it to display this way? I've searched high and low but haven't found anything. I appreciate any help. Thanks!

You can add a calculated item to the pivot table to display grand totals by year:
    1.  First, turn off grand totals for rows and columns (PIVOTTABLE TOOLS > DESIGN tab > Layout group > Grand Totals > Off for Rows and Columns)
    2.  Click on the Price List (Invoice) field in the pivot table (hidden above the
Member field?).  You must click on the pivot table cell containing the field name for the entries "Member" and "Non-Member".
    3.  Add the calculated item (PIVOTTABLE TOOLS > ANALYZE tab > Calculations group > Fields, Items & Sets > Calculated item...
    4.  In the "Name:" box, type: Grand Totals
    5.  In the "Formula:" box, type: = Member + 'Non-Member'
    6.  Click the "Add" button, and then click "OK"

  • Grand Total is not showing

    Good Day everyone,
I have created a report in Discoverer Desktop Edition (Release 4.1), at first, it shows the grand total for the Budget column but when I added a calculated columns “Actual Cost” and “year-to-date”, then the grand total no longer displays for the Budget column and it only shows total on columns for Actual Cost and Year-to-date.
Can anyone help me on this?
    Thanks,
    tony

    Hi,
    Double check it below thinks:
    1) check it measure columns have you setted Aggregation rule like None. if it's there then it won't show so please change it, then try it again
    2) have you ever Moved measure columns to the "Rows" section of your pivot table
    3) make sure Pivot table rows ---> rows agreation should not be none, change it and try it again.
if it's that case please share it u r current screen short.
    Thanks

  • Grand Total issue, it won't display...

    Hi,
    Discoverer Desktop 4.1.44
I have a simple table work sheet showing accno, name, address, balance
Balance is a calculation, a case statement, so is not held in the database, and it is worked out in the worksheet.
I want to create a grand total at the bottom of the balance colum but it simply will not show. So if I have 4 records with a balance of £25 each I wpould like to see a grand total at the bottom of £100 but it won't show!
Is this because disco cannot show a grand total on a calculated field and if so is there any way around it?
    Thanks,
    rg

    Hi,
You can do a grand total on a calculated column,by just going to tools/totals and then select the column and do a sum and clicking the option at the bottom. There comes your grand total in the report.
Derry Discoverer 4.1 is outdated and there are many issues concerning it.So better suggestion is upgrade it to the latest version of discoverer 10g where many issues are solved. You can search this forum for upgrading to 10g
