OBIEE unix:I'm trying to transfer and deploy rpd's from WIN to Solaris

I can't get the OCI connectivity to work on Solaris / everything else works (sqlplus, tnsping, etc)
error
State: HY000. Code: 10058. NQODBC SQL_STATE: HY000 nQSError: 10058 A general error has occurred. nQSError: 17001 Oracle Error code: 12170, message: ORA-12170: TNS:Connect timeout occurred at OCI call OCIServerAttach. nQSError: 17014 Could not connect to Oracle database. (HY000)

I think that error means that Oracle has found your tnsnames.ora file but the host name for the tnsentry defined in it is not responding.
so you could be using the wrong tnsnames.ora file, or maybe your RPD connection pool is using a different data source name from the one that you're testing with tnsping.
how many tnsnames.ora files have you got on your machine? ** find / -name tnsnames.ora **
what data source name is your connection pool configured to use in your RPD?

Update: It seems as though the phone will charge if I plug it in and then turn it off. It will not charge while the phone is on. Also iTunes will not recognize it, so I can't sync or anything. I read somewhere that it could be a fuse somewhere?? Or maybe the dock connector. Where is the best place to get this repaired?

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder from old computer to /My Music/ on new computer.

DDepends on exactly which MBP you have. You need a four-pin FireWire cable to FireWire. You might also need a FireWire to Thunderbolt adaptor.

I want to move the components and deploy the code from dev Environment to SIT environment using Ant Script for AIA.

Further to add to Anish Statement follow the steps to easily migrate the code to different environment.
Steps:
First log on to the EM Console and export the Composite Flow as a SAR file to a location.
In Jdeveloper create a project using the same name of a SAR file like - ProcessSalesorderFlow
import the project using the option import the composite using a SAR File.
After import , then click on the composite and then generate the config plan.
In config plan add all the url changes using the search and replace Tags.
And in case if you have a JCA Adapters the same has to be taken care in SIT environment why because during deployment a lookup happens and deployment fails if it dont find the JNDI Name.
Take the SAR file adn config plan seperately from JDeveloper.
Now open em console again and then deploy it using the config file and SAR file.

In trying to transfer my Address Book data from my old MacBook (OS 10.6.8) to my MacBook Pro (OS 10.7.5), I try to open to transferred Address Book and get the window asking if I want to add all the data; when I click yes, nothing happens.

The new Address Book still show no data. Then I tried to move the A B icon from the old computer file to the new computer icon and nothing showed up. Confused!!

Trying to transfer and delete pics for storage

So when I transfer photos onto my mac (through iphoto) I delete them off my phone to give myself room (iphoto always gives me an option to delete photos after importing them onto my mac). But when I got ios8, all the photos on my computer were transferred back onto my phone. They are still on my mac, but now they are also on my phone; taking up waaaaay too much room.
If I delete the pictures that have been imported onto my mac through iphoto off my phone will they disappear from my iphoto too?
I don't know what to do! Help?

Check your iPhoto library.
Any photo, that you are seeing in an event in iPhoto on your Mac, has safely been imported and can be deleted from the iPhone. If you are seeing the photo only in the "iCloud" section of the iPhoto Library in one of the photo streams, it has not yet been imported and you need to copy it to an event.
(iphoto always gives me an option to delete photos after importing them onto my mac)
It is safer, not to delete immediately. First check, if all photos really have been imported. Sometimes it happens, that iPhoto crashes right after deleting the photos from your phone, before they have completely been imported.
Only after quitting iPhoto once and checking the imported photos delete them from the iPhone.

Trying to transfer Acrobat Pro 8.0 from 1 pc to another

Our engineer is trying to transfer the Acrobat Pro 8.0 licence from 1 pc to another however it will not accept the licence for the new install. There does not seem to be a way tp deactivate the licence from the old pc.

If there is no way to de-activate Acrobat from an old PC then either
a) it is part of a volumen license or
b) it is part of a Suite
You cannot install Acrobat if it is separate from a Suite without installing the Suite and activating it as part of a suite.

Build and deploy iPhone application from terminal

I'm new to the Mac world and was trying to build an application from the terminal without success although the documentation mentions its possible (but doesn't provide any documentation on the tools or any other details).
So, anyone can give me a simple example of how to build an application from the terminal and deploy it to the simulator and/or sign and deploy to an iphone?

Trying to show() and play() a symbol from inside another symbol

Hi Everyone !
I'm running into a problem which is getting me crazy.
I have the following case :
- 1 symbol (_Page_Background) containing an animation with the following trigger @0s :

sym.getParentSymbol().$("_Page_Background").hide();
// Stop it
sym.stop();
- 1 element (B_TOYS), inside of a symbol (BUTTONS) with the following "click" trigger :
// Showing the _Page_Background symbol
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_Page_Background").show();
// Start playing it
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("_Page_Background").play("INTRO");
The Symbol _Page_Background starts hidden, like it should. But when I click on the button (B_TOYS), nothing happens. Although, everything was working correctly before I turned my buttons into symbols ..
I guess the problems lies with the "show()" function, because I have other buttons that work properly but they don't show/hide anything, they just play()
Am I missing something ?!

Think of symbols as independent timelines that can contain other elements, or instances of other symbols. The Stage/main timeline is a symbol as well. Scripting calls are scoped to the symbol that the script is in. The keyword sym stands for the symbol that you're in with the script.
So if your script is at the same level as what you are targeting with it:
Use sym.$("elementName") to access an element's properties
Use sym.getSymbol("symbolName") to access a symbol's timeline. If there's another symbol inside that symbol that you want to access, you'd use sym.getSymbol("symbolName").getSymbol("childSymbolName")...that's only two levels deep, but you can go as deep as needs be.
If you're trying to access an element in a symbol, you'd combine these two, such as sym.getSymbol("symbolName").$("elementName")
When your script is within a symbol and you want to access an element or symbol outside of the symbol timeline:
Use sym.getParent() to get to any elements that are in the parent symbol (the symbol which contains the symbol you're calling from), which could be the Stage or could be another parent symbol
Use sym.getComposition().getStage() from any symbol level to access things at the main Stage level. You can also dive into a symbol on the Stage from any symbol using sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("symbolName").
